This Target still stands as one of the nicer stores in the city. The displays are well-maintained, and the rows clean and clear. I've notices more scaled up displays on my recent visit and still see a lack of professional work clothes for women. I finally checked out the grocery section and was pleasantly surprised. Pretty surprised how organized their Christmas clearance section was. It was all compacted in a section. Everything was 50% off. Except the candy. (30%) A lot of great deals on wrapping paper, I paid $1.50 for a roll. I also bought gift tags, $1.50. I also bought the Dash gingerbread man and reindeer waffle maker, regular $9.99 I got them for $4.99 each. They will be a cute gift for Christmas 2025! Yes, I'm that person. They will sit in my closet for a whole year along with my wrapping paper and tags, and whatever else I find that will keep for a year. I did buy some chocolates, not for next year, but for right now. A little sweetness after lunch for me. I used the self check out. It was quick and easy. No crowds in the store. It was pretty quiet and relaxed. Nothing like I thought it would be. read more

I used to love Target; it was so clean and organized, and the customer service was very good. Since they've stopped having a reset crew to tidy the store in the after/before hours, it's chaos every time I go in. It has turned into Walmart. There are lots of empty spaces on the shelves/hooks, and even the stuff that is there is disorganized. Lots of things just dropped on the floor (by customers who definitely suck, but Target choosing to not pay anyone to clean it up is counterproductive). Today I went in and there was a greeter at the front door; why is the corporation paying someone to stand there and say hello, when the store is a shambles? I will say that the employees I saw were clearly working, so it's not like the work force they have is slacking. The clearly-overburdened staff were still friendly and helpful. read more

The slowest check out stands in the world. I've been to target many times and it's always the same problem. They barely have enough workers at the checkout stands and the lines are too long. If the company is wondering why sales have tanked over the last 2 years they should address this issue as I'm absolutely certain I'm not the only one who has noticed this. read more

I politely asked for a return and handed my item to the old bag who worked the customer service counter on 7/3/25. She had an attitude apparently, and rudely threw my return receipt and store merch card on the counter in front of me. I like target! I like target and will visit any location to avoid the Mega Mart. I mainly purchase household items here and toys for birthday/ Christmas gifts. I stopped in recently to pick up a new shower curtain and liner. While there I picked up some needed bedding items too. I checked out their beer selection and they carry my brand. Score! It was the same price as the HEB. I usually only visit a target store a fewest times each year but it's worth it. I went into the Ulta beauty area of this location and was looking at the products and minding my own when I tried this dry shampoo product. I didn't notice it didn't have a tester sticker but the product had dents, no cap, and obviously used. When I tested the product the lady came up to me pretty aggressively to tell me it wasn't a tester and she now had to damage it. She was rude about it though, so I told her "sorry I was just trying to test it" And she replies with "excuse me? Would you like to take it home with you?" And I was like "why are you so upset?" When I shop at Target I go straight to the clearance racks..helpful tip: every department in Target has a clearance rack(s) w/ items being 15%-70% off and I do mean EVERY department...clothing, shoes, accessories, home stuff, electronics, food items, makeup, ect... I have bought soooooooo many items from Target at such a low price it should be a crime!!! ;). Another helpful money saving tip...download the Cartwheel Target app...through this app you get additional discounts & savings...the Cartwheel app has a price scanner so you can actually scan an item from your phone to see if there is an additional discount off of that item...cool I know! Target is nice. This Target is a nicer one though. The aisles are clean, and the interior does not have that many people unless you go during the disaster called holiday shopping. Of the customers, they are usually polite. I come to this Target just to kill time. The clothing section always seems to have some new, trendy clothing. The cosmetics section never seems to run out of cosmetics. The supermarket section needs some work, but people don't come to Target for grocery shopping anyway. Parking is great. Target never runs out of parking spaces. If Target doesn't have parking, then the shopping center next door that contains the Vitamin Shop has a plethora of parking. read more

This Target is fairly new and busy. There is a huge parking lot, but be prepared to walk since this store is busy. I like self checkout so you can exit quickly if needed. I enjoy Gillian and O'Malley under garments, but Auden is the new brand. I have hard time finding my bra size, seems to be out of stock in store. I like fairly big selection of cosmetic products, but I have noticed prices online are cheaper than what is on the shelves. I will purchase online and do pick up in store and browse items for future online purchase. The returns and online pickup is the same location. This Target seems like most other updated Targets I've been to. They have self-checkout, employees are helpful when asked about things, etc. I do think this one tends to have longer lines. Every time I've come here, there's a line of like 5+ people waiting to do returns and when we leave we usually wait several minutes when checking out. Other Targets in the area don't seem to have as long of lines. I usually go here Saturdays so maybe that's why. read more

Reviewing a store like Target is kind of odd imo since it's the kind of place you go to for basics & necessities regardless of reviews. That said -- Avoid this Target if you can. They very clearly have poor management and a dearth of people wanting to work there (probably because of the bad management). So it's difficult to get help and what you do get is reluctant & resentful at best, non-existent at worst. The last few times I've shopped at this location (183 & Ohlen) it's been to get something quick in the last half hour before they close, which is when I was able to get there. If you have the temerity to still be shopping less than twenty minutes before close be aware that you will be approached multiple times in every department you step into and told to hurry because they're closing. Having worked retail for a long time frankly I find this to be laughably bad management bs... help customers find what they need quickly if you want them to finish up before the store closes. Don't stop them every two minutes and delay them from what they're doing to rush them out. Customer service 101 (& just common sense). The time before last that I was there this happened ten minutes before the store closed while I was trying to find the right case for my phone while the employee in electronics ignored me. The manager came over, looked at me but didn't acknowledge me directly, loudly sighed, then asked the employee in an irritated voice if he had told me they were about to close. Yes, he had. But he obviously felt he had to do it again while she watched. Super uncomfortable. I said "I know, you already told me." Manager still chose not to speak directly to me like a normal person, just rolled her eyes and walked away. The official last straw for me and this location though is that the last time I was there and did a fairly big shop they had zero checkout lanes open other than the self check. When I'm buying $250 worth of stuff I really don't want to have to scan & bag it all myself with the employee at the front watching to make sure you're not stealing but not offering assistance. It seriously took so long. But the worst part is that they will watch you but not come over and remove the anti-theft tags on clothing before you walk out and set off the alarms. This happened to multiple people as I was checking out and I didn't realize what the problem was until we were (finally) leaving. Yeah, they'll just casually walk over and be like do you have any clothes, kinda half-heartedly rifle thorough your bags to remove the tags then let you go. When I got home I saw they missed one and the thought of having to go back to that location to have them remove it was so damn bleak I realized how much I hate it lol. Once I do that I'm done, the arboretum one is not much farther and is way better run. read more

So I got back into the hotel area after a long day of work and knew hardly anything about the city that is not Kerbey Lane, Emo's, or Stubbs. I couldn't find any restaurants that really spoke to me so I just drove around looking for a Whole Foods or something in the neighborhood to grab some reasonably priced adult refreshments for the hotel room so I could watch Modern Family at a reasonable price, rather than the hotel bar that was like $80 for just a sniff not even a sip of some shitty merlot. I only found out about two months ago from a new coworker that Target sold alcohol. This was a new thing for me since like a normal Travis County District Attorney I bought my alcohols at the liquor store. Finding out that Target sold such things was mindblowing because I could now buy cat toys, cat food, human food, human toys, bath towels, and alcohol all in the same place. What a world we live in! #merica When I walked in I was briefly concerned this might be one of Jesus's Targets that did not sell alcohol because she frowns upon humans being Ben-Franklin-happy. At my Target they put the goods front and centre when you walk in. I kept walking like a confused puppy towards the back of the store and finally I found the groceries part, so I figured alcohols would be nearby, and as I kept walking I finally found it. They had it! A terrible selection, but still something so I did not need to go back out into the cold night empty-handed and alone, now needing to find a liquor store. I also grabbed a $4 pre-made Archer farms salad to take care of dinner so I didn't need to look for fast food. The Target at the Arboretum is a horrible employer. If you have diabetes they refuse to allow you to take your insulin unless it is on a scheduled break. The manager was very unprofessional and yelled at an employee because their blood sugar dropped "outside of his break time" and when the employee spoke with HR there, they just indicated they would "have a conversation" with her superior. read more

The staff was friendly, but the stock was ridiculous. I have always found Target expensive, but well stocked with basics that I need. It seems to have gone downhill. This large store, not the small store around the corner, had NO office grade business casual tops of any sort. No turtlenecks or pull over sweaters. I was told that they are switching brands from a single upscale brand to another single upscale brand, and that is why the person in women's wear who has been there for 30 years since the store opened has no idea when standard fall clothing that should have been there already in July, and it is mid September, is coming in, but it is likely to be November. ???? What Target DID have is a lot of quixotic sporty clothing that noone would likely want to wear; certainly not where people actually want to go like to work. The news has been full of reports that Target has all sorts of clothing it can't sell. Maybe it might try a return to basics? I called another women's clothing store and got nowhere, literally, so I ordered a nice turtleneck on Amazon. I hope it fits. If these chain stores don't want Amazon taking over they might want to get on the stick. The staff at the in store Starbucks was friendly too, if a bit peculiar. "I want a regular small coffee". "Do you want that hot?" It seems that Target has attracted itself a clientele that thinks a regular small coffee comes iced. I'm a regular Target shopper but this is a special mention for why I'm thankful for this particular one. I was visiting Austin for one weekend, landing on a Friday at midnight. It was 40 degrees and windy when I landed and I was wearing shorts and a tshirt. I was shaking so bad I could barely hold my phone. I needed to buy warm clothes ASAP. This Target was near my hotel and it opened early by 8am. They had a good selection of warm clothes (that I would wear more than once) at reasonable prices as always. I had a full day planned (and prepaid) starting at 830am so this allowed me to stay on schedule, not ruin my trip, and avoid hypothermia. Thanks again Target! read more

Bullseye! I love me some Target. This location has a similar set up like up North. North meaning nationwide and not North Texas or even North Austin for that matter. Well it is North Austin but that isn't the point. I went inside because I was killing some time before my appointment. I went in not really expecting to buy anything but of course that doesn't work very often at Target. I went in and ended up spending maybe $20. What did I buy you ask? I recently moved and this is my local Target now. I'm a huge fan of curbside and use it often. I'm so impressed at how quickly and accurately this location is able to fulfill the orders. This is pretty much the standard Target but I really like the location since it is right off the service road of 183. The employees always seem pretty nice. One thing to stay away from here is the PHARMACY. They don't ever seem to get our prescriptions right and always have a reason for not having our stuff on time and end up making us wait longer than needed. We finally ended up moving to the 24 hour Walgreens off Duval and 183. Other than the pharmacy I really like this Target and the merchandise they have here. They are organized and have a good location and parking lot. read more

This Target is all swanky and stuff. It's got a flagstone exterior and is visually appealing all the way around the store (I accidentally got caught in the one way road around the store). The carts are modern new fancy plastic carts. I went here to get some stuff after just having moved to the area. I needed essentials like body wash and laundry detergent and a power strip. Target has it all. What's really incredible is that I was asked 7 times if I needed help. I don't blame them because I was walking around looking lost trying to think of what I needed. I appreciate the 7 different employees who asked if they could help me. I got everything I needed and didn't even have to wait in line at the register. The employees at the customer service desk are the best out of all the Targets in Austin -- they actually give a darn about you and will work with you to find ways around your lost receipt or whatever situation you present to them. Minus two stars for an inept pharmacy. They're not trustworthy. I have a prescription that must be taken on a daily basis and refilled on a monthly basis. There were no refills left, so Target Pharmacy promised me they would call my doctor a week in advance and get a new prescription for me. I was hesitant but they assured me they would take care of it. A week before I needed my new prescription, as promised, they faxed my doctor's office, with no reply. Days later, they faxed again. Days later, they faxed a third time. By this time, it had been over a month since my last refill, so by all accounts, my prescription should have run out. Target never attempted to contact my doctor via phone, or notify me there was a problem. Here's the thing...they have no concept of when is "too late"...They don't track when your current prescription runs out... so they had no idea of when to escalate in the face of failure or how critical the situation was. I still had 2 days supply left, because I leave margin for error on these things. I finally stepped in when I hadn't heard from them, and was barely able to scrape a refill in time before my drug ran out. When I told them about the problem, the tech only told me over and over how it's "standard procedure" to fax the office three times and then call the patient (which they never did). He couldn't understand that their standard procedure doesn't work. Target loves to brag about how 'automated' and 'advanced' their pharmacy is. Make up your own mind.
