Alright so here's my review. The ambiance was great the exposed brick and Edison lights really give the bar a rustic feel very comfortable. There's two levels the lower level or by the entrance where they have the growler station and a bar/tap area really friendly staff and great beer. Second level is a seating area and bar area with two large tvs and a open window view of their brewing area. So this was our first time here and yes being 5/5 they had a waiting list which was 1hr..... after our long 1hr wait we got seated at the middle table with these high chairs ( being a big guy these were uncomfortable for me ) after asking to be moved to another table the hostess sat someone else there..... finally we get sat at another table and we ask the server how many wings come with the order she says a dozen when thy arrive it was only 8... I mean as a server they should know the quantity of food.... so the conclusion.... the good: great food,great beer, great ambiance, friendly service! The bad: the wait,lack of menu knowledge, and a little pricy. I will be back maybe on a slower night! read more

The food was delicious and it had a great beer selection. I give it 4 stars because the food selection for children was limited. I got sliders and gave 1 with some of my of my fries to my 5 year old. Awesome brewery and food! After reading some mixed reviews about the service and how crowded it gets on the weekend, I wanted to get there early. Places opens at 1130 and by 12 me and my boyfriend had no problem finding a seat at the bar. There's two floors, the main level is where you get your growler cards and have them filled with a few tables to sit. They open up the front when it's nice so you can sit outside but it's not exactly that scenic being right across from a police station. Upstairs is a little bigger with more seating and another bar. The staff is very helpful and friendly and let us try anything before we ordered. I'm a big sour fan so I definitely appreciated the "there and back again". Great taste and 6% too which is pretty high for a sour. They had a lot of nice IPA and DIPA selections. The ones that really stood out were the "vulgar display of flowers" and the "fractal citra" . The only bottles they had for sale when I went the first time was the farmhouse ale "Casey" which I really liked as it had a nice tart taste. The second time we went they didn't have any bottles for sale only growler fills which was a little disappointing. The food is surprising pretty good! First time we ordered pretzel bites and sliders, both delicious and the dipping sauces were on point. The second time we went I ordered the black bean hummus dip and my boyfriend got the poutine fries. Both were really tasty. The only problem we had with the food was the chicken sandwich we ordered to share. At first the food runner bought the sandwich we ordered out to another person at the bar by accident. I knew it because I asked for extra condiments on the side that didn't even come with it which were on the plate. No big deal, they apologized and said another would be out shortly. When they brought it out the chicken tasted microwaved and rubbery, just terrible. I would have knocked off a star for that but to be honest, it is a brewery and the beers are phenomenal. It's hard to find a good brewery that also serves food so aside from the one bad sandwich, the rest of the food was great! I hope the more established this place gets the more bottles they'll have to sell. If I lived in the area I'd be here getting my growlers filled every week. read more

For their beer I would give them six stars if I could: easily among the best in the region. For their restaurant I would give two stars: the first time we ate there a few weeks ago I had one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had, and despite a large crowd, the service was prompt and courteous. Today the crowd was no bigger than before, but the service was appallingly bad, the veggie burgers barely edible and the fries were clearly the dregs from a larger batch. Beware poor quality control: I'd say it's a gamble if you want food, but if your main interest is beer you will be very satisfied. read more

Had an awesome first trip to Equilibrium on Saturday. Was expecting it to be jam packed, but it was super comfortable (maybe partly because we did an early 5 pm dinner and partly because of the can release in the morning). Beer was superb, had all three in their Hoptimization series and feel they are getting better and better. 3 was definitely my favorite, but it was still nice to leave with a growler of 1. Food and service were both excellent as well, nice to see the menu is no afterthought here. Really looking forward to going back sometime. read more

My family and I went to Equilibrium yesterday for my dad's birthday and it was excellent. We all shared different appetizer including: fried pickles, wings (Thai chili and garlic honey), poutine, nachos, and brussel sprouts! Everything was very delicious and unique. We went with a large group for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night and were very impressed. Servers were friendly and attentive, and our food came out pretty quickly and correctly, impressive given how large our party was. I ordered a burger, it was very good and fresh. I'm not a beer drinker but most of my party was and I heard a lot of positive comments about the beers, especially Photon (hope I spelled that correctly). I've been to Tapped twice on the way down to weddings in NJ and NY and both times have been fantastic. The food has been great. In particular the Fried Pickles and burgers. I feel like Tapped has brought new life back to downtown. The drinks are great (I love the seasonal cocktails!) And the food is delicious. We generally have our two young children with us and have met other young families whilst enjoying our afternoon there. LOVE the atmosphere, really a cool place to hang out. We came with two kids and Jess our server was super sweet with them. I was really excited about eating here, and I would be so happy to give 5 stars with a couple of improvements. I ordered the cod fish tacos. The presentation was very nice, but the cod was missing flavor! I think it's known that cod is a bland fish and seasoning is everything. I was pretty disappointed, it seemed like I was supposed to rely on the cilantro, toppings, and squeeze of lemon for flavor. I think if the cod was seasoned well, it would have been delicious. We also ordered the nachos and cheese with shredded chicken, but again, I feel like the chicken was also under-seasoned. I'm not picky. The truffle fries were ON POINT. However the first plate sent out to us was sent minus any cheese and parsley topping--which we didn't know was missing until we ordered a second plate because it was so delicious. All in all, I would LOVE to give a 5+ if the food experience was just as amazing as the atmosphere. I would go back for dinner if I knew the food was better. Just went to brunch here with some friends. The bottomless mimosas weren't really bottomless-the server did not spend much time checking up on us. We waited an hour for our food even though we were the first people in the place. The food came out cold. My friends got the Nutella French toast and it looked like a cold loaf of bread(because it was)- barely any Nutella in it. The Eggs Benedict tasted really good, but who likes cold eggs? One of the worst experiences I have had at any restaurant in the Middleton area. Arrived right at opening with a group of 6 for Sunday brunch. We were super excited about their St Pats days specials. No assigned wait staff for each table so completely disorganized. Coffee came out one at a time and took an hour. Literally, an hour for coffee. We spoke to 3 different wait staff and no one actually apologized, they instead told us that everyone arrived at once and it was a new coffee maker. We asked for a manager and we were told she was busy but will stop by our table soon. After waiting another 10 minutes for the manager we just stood up and walked out. After over an hour with no food. There also was no hostess or bartender. Three waitresses were juggling the entire floor plus everything else. Will never return. read more

I had my bridal shower at Tapped on 7/20/19 and everything was phenomenal! Ed was great to work with and was able to give us exactly what we needed. Paul was also amazing and met with us in person beforehand to go over all of the details and make sure everything was perfect for the day. Our bartenders, Angel and Tara, always made sure everyone had a drink and didn't let plates pile up - everything flowed beautifully. First off, this was probably the third time I've been to Tapped since it opened its doors. First time was good, second time was just ok, but this time was a train wreck. Went here on St.Patty's day for what looked like a great brunch menu. We arrived separately within a few minutes of each other, and our reservation of 6 was seated at separate tables. We had to find each other and consolidate. Our waitress informed us that the coffee machine was new, and they were working to get it going. Ok, not a problem. We ordered some soda bread toast until our food order was placed. We never saw that waitress again. After 15 mins, we grabbed the attention of another waitress, and she took our actual food order. Over the course of 20 mins, 4 cups of coffee came out one at a time from another waitress. After an hour, we still had no food on the table while others around us were getting service, and asked to speak to a manager. We were told she would be over. After another 15 mins and no manager, we got up and left. The only explanation we ever received (from every waitress) was that "everyone came in at the same time". The food menu looked great, but the service was practically nonexistent. I can understand when someplace gets an unexpected rush of customers but this felt like we either ignored or forgotten. This is someplace we might have visited more, as most of us live less than 10 mins of its location. Unfortunately, this left a very poor impression on all us, enough so that I have no interest in ever returning. read more

We hosted my best friend's Bridal Shower at Tapped, and we cannot say enough great things about our experience. Below is a pretty long summary of our experience, but in short: Tapped offers incredibly friendly service, a beautiful venue that's easy to add your own personal decorative touches, and great food/beverage options all at a very reasonable budget. Highly recommend!! The longer summary of our experience: We spoke with the owner, Ed, several weeks beforehand about our vision and he was so flexible and willing to accommodate our budget and schedule. He even set us up with the manager, Paul, to do a walk through two weeks prior to ensure we felt comfortable with the decor, layout of the room, menu, etc. The day of the shower was a huge success! Everyone could not stop complimenting the venue and we couldn't be more appreciative for how stress-free of a party it was. Paul, Angel, Tara, and Harry were amazing throughout the entire party ensuring everything was running smoothly and our guests were happy. Nearly all of our guests complimented the venue, the staff, and the food at the end of our party! Some great things to note about hosting a shower or party in the upstairs room at Tapped: 1. Owner and staff are extremely flexible with decor, menu, music, etc. and offer great advice on use of the space 2. Food was delicious, and open bar was exactly what the bride wanted (mimosas with OJ or pineapple juice, and bloody mary's) 3. Staff cut cake for us, served drinks at the bar and at tables (no DIY bar or forcing guests to continually get up) and also jumped in to adjust music volume during impromptu toasts or bridal games 4. Venue has a nice vibe, and doesn't require a lot of decor; with exposed brick/wooden tables we just added some flowers, a few bunches of balloons, and a couple banners here and there. 5. Venue will accommodate your own Spotify playlist -- we made a public and collaborative playlist so all the bridesmaids could add to it, and simply texted the link to the playlist to Paul to play! 6. The groom/husbands/boyfriends can all hang at the bar downstairs during the party; the groom joined us for gift opening and the rest joined at the end of the party for a few more drinks! We loved hosting our bride's shower here, and highly recommend to anyone looking to host a party that offers a beautiful and accessible venue, friendly staff, and great food/drinks!! I went here last night with my friends and had an absolutely wonderful time. The food was good and so was the service. The problem I had is that I have been violently vomiting and s******* my brains out for the last twelve hours and two of my friends also have stomach pain. Everyone who ordered a burger last night experienced the stomach pain. Overall I would totally go again but definitely not getting another read more
