Why is the butter not melting on the steak, hmmmm...?
David B.

Love the potential! As we walked in, we were thinking, "this a 5 Star gem in the land of Goshen." The groove of 70's music was playing at the perfect volume, the lighting was soft but not too bark. We sat in the round table in the back corner with a view of the entire joint! Everything thing was great, UNTIL, the cook received a FaceTime call from his girl five minutes after we sat down. FaceTime, without earbuds, which means, speaker at max volume the entire time we were there. (45 minutes) At one point, the cook needed to refill his water bottle to wash down the food he was eating while cooking our aged Prime steaks. ( the bill was $190) Still on the FaceTime call with volume on max, he cluelessly walked by our table. We were thinking the bartender and server would say something to him as he got water at the bar, but they were too busy making googly eyes and playing touchy-feely with each other to notice. Then, a manly gentleman walked in liked he owned the place with an adorable little girl and we were thinking this guy put an end the cook's call. Well, we thought wrong, it appeared the little girl was the bartender's daughter. When man and little girl left, the sever and bartender went back to giggling and touching as the cook rambled on with his lady on FaceTime. (side note, as with the cook, my wife and I both speak Spanish, but it would not be appropriate for us to share with you what their conversation was about) Long story short, our hopes were dashed even though the food wasn't bad. We can only imagine the beauty 5 star we would have written if we did not have to listen to a Novela with our meal.

I enjoyed my meal and beverage. The salmon was of an appropriate size. However, I was somewhat disappointed with the server's service. I have encountered better service and received more assistance at other restaurants.

We had our belated holiday party at Pharmacy Kitchen and Bar, and it was the perfect choice! The atmosphere was fun and inviting, and the owners were incredibly accommodating when we had to move our reservation earlier due to an incoming winter storm. Our group of eight was seated by a front window, giving us a beautiful snowy street view of the village of Goshen--such a cozy touch! The food was excellent. The appetizers were larger than expected and perfect for sharing--the kimchi on the cucumber salad was amazing, and we absolutely devoured the burrata. Our entrées were just as delicious, and a few of us were so full we had to take some home. Despite the busy night, the staff was friendly, attentive, and on top of our orders. A fantastic experience all around--we can't wait to come back!

This restaurant's theme is a hilarious fusion of pharmacy and gastronomy. If you're looking for a dining experience that's equal parts delicious and quirky, look no further than Pharmacy Kitchen & Bar. My hubby and I went there for Friday date night and let me tell you--it was a prescription for pure fun! Upon arrival, all the regular tables were fully booked. We snagged two barstools. Pro tip: Make a reservation in advance for table sitting. The bar area was buzzing with energy and friendly bartenders concocting cocktails named after medications like Vicodin. Yes, you read that right. Who knew pharmaceuticals could be so tasty? We ordered the Gourmet Hamburger and the Goat Hamburger. Each bite was a flavor delight! We'll be back and try out other foods from their menu.

Truffle deviled eggs

Liz!! That's all I have to say. Best bartender there is. Every food item on the menu is superb. The clams are truffle deviled eggs are my favorite appetizers on the menu. The drink menu is fresh and fun; containing items where the bartender smokes a glass for a bourbon drink, gummy worms, and cotton candy for other drinks. Super fun!

GOAT hamburger

My wife and I tried the Pharmacy kitchen recently and were not disappointed. The ambience was great, restaurant was packed to capacity, and the food was delicious. We shared the shrimp wrapped in bacon and the GOAT hamburger. We were attended to just as if we were regulars, thank you for a great experience.

Pfizer vaccine! Coolest thing ever!! :o)

The place to get vaccinated via syringe filled with "something" created by the crack pot unlicensed pharmacist behind the bar. Imagine in your head a mad scientist in a lab coat creating a concoction behind the bar and handing it over in a syringe. You have no clue what's inside but you're excited to take this vaccination. That's the experience here which makes it totally fun! The bar portion and wacky beverages they have created and serve here are really fun and encourages experimentation. I see this place being a neat hangout spot to get tipsy with an Uber on standby to get you home. If you plan on buying food I recommend taking a few brews created by the mad scientist behind the bar so that it enhances the food flavors because the food needs flavor enhancing by that smoking potion the unlicensed pharmacist will hand you. I had a burger with fries and said burger was average at best, certainly not something I'd run out to get unless I was drunk. Anyone that thinks the food here is 5 star is likely writing their review while still at the restaurant and fully intoxicated. If they go back to their initial review of this place sober the shocking expression on their faces would be similar to waking up to a one night stand after a serious hang over only to see the ugliest person you've ever met laying next to you in the morning! Staff is superb!!! This place to me is truly a fun "bar" to hang out at first with food being secondary to line your stomach with something that slows down your ability to get drunk. If you reviewed this place drunk go back and update your review.

Stopped in for a Girl's nite out and we were very pleased! We decided to sit at the bar and we were so happy we did. The bartenders were great! They made amazing drinks, gave us fantastic service and were just overall a pleasure to be around! It is so hard to find good service these days, so we appreciate you, Arianna and Bella!!! The drink names are fun, as are the props...the food, wow! The Gourmet burger was incredible as was the Short Rib Goulash, the spätzle was so yummy! We will definitely return!!

Wall art in Women's bath- from a woman that grew up in the 80's I loved it

In the area and wanted to try something local and man did we hit it out of the park here. The service was amazing, Bella was helpful attentive and super accommodating. The vibe or ambiance was great. Loved the decor the themes of the drinks and the art work. The food man the food was some of the best we have had for lunch. My husband ordered the steak sandwich and it was exceptional. Smoked steak, peppers cheese it was packed with flavor. I ordered the gourmet burger with cheese and it was probably the best juiciest burger I have ever had. Some dropped on my sweater and I'm not even mad it was so good. Fresh flavors and layers of flavors. I just had a soda but my husband tried two cocktails and they were fantastic. Wished we lived closer (4 hours away) but whenever we are here we will definitely absolutely come here. Thank you for offering up an amazing dining experience at reasonable rate and not over the top fancy dishes. Love this place.

The make your own smores were a hit!

We came here on a whim on Easter and were so glad we stopped. It was the truly best dining experience that we have had in years! Service was impeccable and the food incredible. My boys shared the filet mignon and devoured almost all of it. One of my 8 year olds was raising his hands to the sky with his eyes closed, that's how much he enjoyed his meal. I had the Cajun penne which was loaded with chicken and sausage and so delicious my husband ate it on our 4 hour drive home. He had the lamb and said it was perfect as well. For dessert my kids loved the make your own smores and husband had pot de creme. I had affogato. All delicious. Staff was so friendly, bathrooms nice and clean. Oh, and the drinks were awesome. No question that we'll be back here again next time we head to Legoland. We were a bit apprehensive bringing our kids here at first because it looks more like a var than restaurant but everyone was welcoming and we're so glad we stopped by. My husband is ready to make the 4 hour drive again just to eat here.

Decor is really cool

My husband & I cannot stop talking about how great the food was here. We love Craft47 across the street,& this is their sister restaurant,so on this holiday Monday we ventured over. Guys, you will not be disappointed. The food is a damn party in your mouth, bursting with yummy flavors. This is what my group had/shared: tuna tartar(I want more) clams, wings(omg) burgers, chicken ranch sandwich. I drank the Rosé&my sis the sav Blanc, both equally delish. Put this on your must go to list. And a big shout out to our server MacKenzie, all smiles, very personable&sweet. bravo bravo! Can not wait to go back!!

I loved this place! I love the town of Goshen. There's always a great place to eat/drink and this one of them. Stopped by for a drink and the ambience was great. It gives me halloween vibes but in the best way possible. The drinks are creatively named and very good. The bartenders were nice and easy to talk to. Highly recommend coming here for a unique experience.

Fun establishment! Excellent food, fun cocktails, and attentive staff (dressed in scrubs). Keeping with "pharmacy " theme, drinks/shots served in beakers, bags, syringes. The bill even comes in a pill container.

Unfortunately, our visit on Friday evening was spoiled by a (not advertised on the website) too-loud musical duet who were enamored of their own sound, which wasn't even German music, just a variety of American oldies. They might have been fine unamplified in the small space, but they each kept turning their amplified sound up higher than the other, so all that happened was our ears hurt more and their music was made unlistenable. We could not hear each other or the waitress over the bellowing (can't really call something at that decibel singing) and very loud guitar. The food is hard to concentrate on when you are having to cover your ears during the painfully loud sound. It was also very jarring to have "Hotel California" and suchlike giving a cheap bar or street busker atmosphere instead of some lovely German music that would have added to the overall feel. I can't imagine it was easy to work in that space with all the noise; the server was doing her best, but it was hard for us to understand her and vice versa. We had asked for the volume to be turned down, but it crept back up quickly as each player kept turning himself up. I really felt sorry for those who were forced to work under the loud conditions. We should have left after our drinks and appetizers, which were quite good. Instead, since we'd come all that way, we courted hearing loss in order to experience the mix of mains. The Schweinehaxe, which was described as slow-roasted, crispy, and served with potato dumplings and red cabbage, was not as expected. There was no delightful crispy-crunchy skin as is found in the classic Bavarian dish; instead it was soggy and seemed braised rather than roasted, with no skin at all, although the flavor was decent. The "potato dumpling" (singular) wasn't a true potato dumpling, but seemed to actually be a mound of mashed potatoes molded into a rounder shape. The red cabbage, usually one of my favorite parts of a German meal, was underdone (crunchy, like coleslaw) and oddly bitter; I could not eat this at all. The pan sauce was too salty and whatever alcohol had been used to deglaze the pan had been added with too heavy a hand. I would not order this again. The Schnitzel was decent, if a little unevenly pounded. While listed on the menu as Weinerschnitzel, it is actually Schweineschnitzel Weiner Art, not truly Weinerschnitzel (which can only be called this when made with veal), but perhaps the person who made up the menu did not realize this distinction. It was served over Streichholzkartoffeln (matchstick-sized French fries) with lingonberry preserves and a nice lemon wedge for squeezing over. The meat was tender, very flavorful, and nicely breaded and fried. I would gladly eat this again. Another win was the Bronzinoschnitzel (known also as Wolfsbarsch or Seebarsch in Germany), a mild white fish filleted and very pleasantly (lightly) breaded and fried, served over rice with a delightful lemon wine sauce and accompanied by two delicious stalks of white asparagus. I would also gladly eat this again. The desserts we tried were too expensive (no prices were listed on the menu, and they turned out to be $12 per dessert) and did not hit the mark for texture or flavor. The Black Forest cake, while closer to an original German version, had a texture failure with the cake layers, which were too coarse, too open-crumbed, and too tall. While the German cake is usually drier compared to the American version, the layers will be thinner and the texture is still fairly fine, if necessarily less moist in order to take up the liquor that is traditionally brushed on. This version did have the traditional liquor, but it was a bit harsh and unevenly soaked into the too-thick and too-coarse cake so that some bites had none at all while others caused gasps from the strength. The cheesecake was almost there in terms of a true German cheesecake, with nearly good Quark flavor and texture, but sadly, it was overbaked, which ruined both flavor and texture. Perhaps if the music had not been pounding our heads so loudly, the food might have tasted better, so we will return at a time when there will be no loud music in order to give the other menu items a try. There are a number of dishes that I hope will be good, and I am sure that if the owner takes feedback and improves, there will be many reasons to return for years to come. I will update this review after any future visit.

The eggs were perfectly cooked soft and buttery. And the sour dough toast with that perfect sour dough tang was the perfect edition. Even the coffee in the French press takes the coffee to another level. But talking about Oak & Reed flair the signature waffle was possibly one of the best things I have eaten. The waffle with that pearl sugar is the way a waffle should be made but then they have that waffle filled with Dutch caramel and that mascarpone on top is perfect. The tang, sweetness, butteriness, the crisp yet fluffy waffle it all was an equation for an amazing breakfast item. I could eat that every time I go. Truly amazing. The staff in Oak & Reed is always amazing attentive and kind. Live the open kitchen concept. Especially with my two year old currently in a Ratatouille kick so she wanted to see the chefs while she looked for Remy cooking. All in all Oak & Reed never disappoints.

Unfortunately I have to say this place was just meh!…read more This is one of my friends favorite restaurant, she even wanted to have them cater her wedding. So I was excited when we finally got a chance to try it. And here is where it may have been my fault, maybe I hyped it up too much. So the funny thing when we arrived at the restaurant and I saw another friend. She told me it was her first time and it wasn't good (this was a warning!) she said especially the chicken and waffles. So again maybe it's my fault because I didn't listen. My heart was set on the chicken and waffles and she was right. It was not good. Like how do you mess up chicken and waffles? It was lacking all types of flavor. It was bad. Why 3 stars than? Because their Spicy Pork Congee was amazing! It's an Asian rice dish and everything that lacked flavor in the chicken and waffles was made up in this dish. The problem? This is only an appetizer. It needs to be an entree, which would mean making it a larger portion. It was fantastic! They also had a decent beer selection which we got. The inside of the restaurant is cute. It has so much potential I just think maybe a revamp of the recipes. But maybe another dish would be good. We came for brunch so I don't know how their dinner menu is. I will probably give them another chance because how amazing the congee was I know they have potential to be great.
