My fiancé and I came here to celebrate our birthday, and the experience was amazing from start to finish. From the classy and intimate atmosphere to the drinks, every thing was a hit. We tried a number of dishes and drinks but highlights for us were the deviled eggs (personal favorite; perfect for those that enjoy the yolk-y filling the most!), the lobster corndogs, and the garden gimlet. My husband and I ate at the Tango Room last night for the first time. The restaurant is very nice and dimly lit. We sat in a rounded booth, which was nice. Sam was our waiter and very attentive. He gave great suggestions and described the food so nicely that it was hard to choose. Everything sounded so good! We decided on the Tuna Carpaccio to start. It was AMAZING! All the flavors and textures worked so well together. For entrees, I had the pork chop with chasseur sauce and my husband had the ribeye. Either one could be shared so you could try other things. They were both very good portions. Both were great! We shared the mushrooms as a side and I would totally get that again. For dessert we got the lemon. It's a very realistic looking lemon that is filled with fresh flavors. It was very good. Overall, we had no complaints and would definitely go here again. This place was amazing Ry the bartender was awesome and can really make some drinks. Everything we had was so good. We started with the crab cake as an app it was ok crab cake. It was my least favorite thing we had. My wife had the scallops and they were amazing and flavorful. I had the Bolognese fresh home made noodles it was amazing. The duck fried right stole the show it's some of the best fried rice I have ever had and I would never have thought to try fried rice with duck. We finished with the chocolate cake Ry recommended it and my wife loved it she love's chocolate, I thought it was good but I am not a huge chocolate lover. It's one of the top meals we have ever had in Dallas and we have at at most of the top spots. Give them a chance and if you can sit at the bar let Ry surprise you with an amazing drink. read more

We sat at the bar for the boyfriend's birthday dinner. The place is super intimate and gives a very exclusive feeling. All the employees were super nice and gave their recommendations. I'm a huge Peking duck fan so that was one of the main dishes I wanted to try. Mind you, this is not your Chinese bbq Peking duck. None of it is fatty and they've made it upscale which is why you're paying much more than your local Chinese spot. The bolognese was absolutely to die for as well as the tartare. I think I had the best steak in the last 3 years here. This filet was cooked perfectly to my desired temp and was insanely delicious. But I'm getting ahead of myself here.... This place is new and by new I mean open less than 4 weeks. We have been excited to try this out. Seating has 12-14 booths and chairs at the bar, which is beautiful by the way. From what I could tell, all of the booths are all the old style round booths where the person in the back has a hard time deciding whether it's worth it to get up mid-meal. We split the Caesar Salad and Lobster Corndogs. The Caesar was plentiful, even split, and was delicious. My only note is that it was a tad overdressed. Obviously, it didn't bother me since I proceeded to finish it. The lobster corndogs - we weren't sure what to expect. However, they were delicious. Lobster was cooked perfectly and not rubbery at all. Main course was pasta bolognese for my SO and Filet Oscar for myself. We are very critical of pasta, especially bolognese since my family is from Italy. This was absolutely divine. My filet, that I mentioned above, is probably what made this place my new favorite steakhouse. Lobster Mac and Cheese was perfection - I would say on par if not better than another steakhouse known for the same dish. At the end of the meal, we were actually comfortably full. So we decided against ordering dessert. However, we have already decided that this will be on our regular rotation. read more

Anything but mezza! A true gem in Dallas. They house one of the finest collections of wine, food and staff. It is elegant, but not intimidating. Wow. Just wow. I can't wait to come back. Came with a party of 12 and we all left with a smile on our face! The environment is quiet and enjoyable for a date night or group event, service was great and the suggestions were all 10/10. So I was looking for a new restaurant to try and I came upon this place. Let me tell you I love the ambiance here. It's really nice since it's in the design district. So we went ahead ordered our appetizer, the crudo. I have to admit it was really good! I highly recommend ordering it. Then we ordered our entrees. So we got pork chops, the server recommended I add this type of sauce which made it more amazing. Drools... and also ordered the filet. For our sides lobster Mac & asparagus. Pretty solid spot. Split the wedge which was great. Big jumbo shrimp cocktail was very tasty. The bartender suggested we get the duck fried rice which was very good and also the trout with the butter sauce on the side which were all good recommendations. Great addition to the Dallas restaurant/steakhouse scene! Dined for my birthday along with my wife and another couple. Originally had reservations at another place, but happened upon Tango Room while scrolling through Resy and was able to snag a last minute reservation. Upon arriving, you're almost aren't sure you are in the right place, lol, as there are no big signs - just the valet and a small marker noting location. After walking past the wall, you are transported into one of the best designed spaces I've been to in a while. Reminds me a lot of Drakes, but a little more elevated. Loved the intimate size of the space. Allows for use of moderate speaking voices. Also loved the multicultural music playing in the background! For dinner we tried a few things: hamachi crudo, duck wings, wedge salad and deviled egg to start. For mains, my wife and I had the Kansas ribeye, lobster Mac and asparagus. The other couple both had fish dishes, lobster Mac and spinach. Everyone loved the dishes and the next day my steak was even better after warming up. The drinks are top notch and untraditional, which I like. Also a very unique wine list, although very pricey. Only minor issue was that our server did not always give the 5 star experience to match the location. At times he seemed to not be listening to what we asking for, nor did he really explain some of the dishes as would be expected. Man, I really wanted to love this place, but was sadly disappointed. For how highly this place was recommended to us through word of mouth and the reviews, my husband and I felt like it fell flat. We ordered a variety of menu items that came recommended by the staff. Service was kind, but it took 40 minutes for anyone to take our food order. Foie gras was wonderful, but the dry-aged steak lacked salt and the pasta lacked flavor. For the price point, this is a miss, sadly. read more

Amazing. I don't do many reviews but this diamond in Dallas deserves it. Stopped in here on an impromptu visit after a long walk in the Design District and they were nice enough to get me in at the bar. One of the luckiest stool snags to date. I've been back at least six times since and the quality of the experience continues to get better and more compelling. I'll keep it short but will start with the service. Professional, friendly,with a comfortably high end vibe minus the pretention. Servers are patient, knowledgeable and listen, and I would trust their recommendations but don't be afraid to go your own way. They get it. Bartenders there are masters of a craft I value above basically all. Grab a seat when Rye is tending and I promise you'll leave impressed and feeling great and probably will have learned something. All the food met or exceeded expectations everytime with spot on descriptions and suggestions. Standouts for me personally include the oysters, and the lamb and the duck wings will blow your doors off but I've yet to be not impressed by anything. I submit this with trepidation as too many well deserved reviews like this might mean I won't be able to get in whenever I think I deserve it. Doesn't matter. Dallas deserves this spot and maybe more like it. Highly recommend. read more

I wouldn't change anything about this dish. My husband's pasta was delicious. We had the chocolate cake for desert and it was delicious. The scallops were the best though. I went here for a vendor meeting and was very impressed. The interior was nicely laid-out and well appointed. The service is exactly what I look for in a higher end steak house. And of course the lamb I had was cooked perfectly. No pics from me, but there are some on Yelp from others with the lamb. Overall I recommend and plan on returning with my wife and some friends sometime. It's a little far from me as I'm in the East side of Dallas, but it's worth the trip. read more

Came here a few months ago for a couples date night. I will say; driving at night not that familiar with Dallas; this place was a tad tricky for us to find. I don't feel the outdoor sign is large enough to see; well at least for us. It kinda gives you that speakeasy vibe in a sense you walk in and there's a counter for you to check in coats and then there's a huge curtain that you go through to get into the restaurant. Staff is super nice; restaurant has a cool vibe, nicely decorated, not very big; so definitely make reservations; and we'll in my opinion the place is too damn dark. I absolutely hate dark restaurants to where I can't see my food in full color. But that's just me. We started off with the deviled eggs which were delicious; just wish there were more! The bolognese was prepared nicely; the scallops were cooked perfectly.... But the flavors to me were not as good and executed in the the menu description. The lamb was just amazing; cooked perfectly with great flavors. The wild mushroom sides were ehhh.... I love mushrooms but this was lacking something. The duck fried rice; now that was super tasty. For dessert we got some sort of deconstructed fruit pie; which was definitely interesting looking, but in the end was quite delicious. This place was definitely a place to try, the food is good and the service is great, but for me nothing on the menu makes me want to come back over and over. We had a somewhat disappointing experience at Tango Room. The food was good. We had the lobster hot dogs which were interesting; the Caesar salad and wedge salad, both of which were fantastic; Brussels sprouts, pasta bolognese, a seafood pasta with white wine sauce, and Denver steak. The Brussels sprouts and both pasta dishes were excellent. The Denver steak was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately the service was spotty. At times our waiter was attentive but then he would disappear. I appreciate that he didn't rush us, but he shouldn't have disappeared. We had to flag him down to order our entrees. He did rush through our dessert order, not waiting to hear from everyone. He did not check on us during the meal to see if we needed anything, and did not check with us after the dessert was delivered. I wanted a glass of dessert wine and sat for a long time, trying to get someone's attention. A manager finally took notice and brought me the wine list. The waiter eventually showed up again, but just to drop off the check. By that time I was upset and no longer interested in the dessert wine. The manager came back to ask if I had chosen a dessert wine. I said no and explained why and he apologized and brought me a glass on the house. (It was excellent with the cheesecake.) I still left a good tip, but have been regretting it as the waiter did not deserve that much. read more

Extremely underrated... shocked there is not more buzz about this spot, especially given the location next to Carbone. We popped in for a cocktail before a dinner reservation at The Charles, but the bartender Rye sold us on the food menu (give the guy a raise...). From the moment we stepped in the door the ambiance and staff were so welcoming. We were celebrating our anniversary and every person working there wished us well and remembered throughout our visit. There are only 13 tables (10 are large booths) and the vibe was very zen like and old Hollywood to me. Our lovely server, Maria, greeted us so warmly and stayed attentive all evening. She anticipated our every need as did the other servers (not even assigned to us)! Edward stopped by cheerfully to say hello and we enjoyed visiting with him. Other servers stopped by to check on us and this showed me they consider each other family and help out. Because of this we have never seen better service. Byron Cruz, the GM, stopped by our table to meet us and ensure we were happy, and indeed we were! The food was delicious and we savored every bite. We had the wedge, 8 ounce filet, and wild mushrooms (which I usually only eat a few of but these were different and scrumptious). I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to impress those you are dining with.....great for a special occasion or date night! read more
