There used to be a Japanese restaurant called "Sato Sushi" at the spot. That business is long gone and a Korean restaurant called "Moobongri Soondae" was established at the same spot, specializing in Korean blood sausage (aka, "soondae") soup along with other traditional Korean dishes such as "Ssam", which is sliced boiled pork served with napa cabbage and few condiments. Some time this year, the place switched its name to "Tang Korean Cuisine" for whatever reason, but it is said to be under the same management. I missed the soondaeguk from back home so was excited to find this restaurant. I hesitated because of some previous reviews commenting on 'rude' service but I had none of that, the ladies here were super efficient, and really warm despite being busy the night we dined. I ordered the spicy soondaeguk, it had a decent amount of authentic soondae (not the cheap stuff that is overstuffed with only noodles and nothing else), and other pork (+some offal, which is how it's supposed to be - you can ask for it to be omitted). The bone soup had a good depth of flavor, my picky non-Korean husband really enjoyed it. He ordered the regular soondaeguk as a meal, so it came with an extra plate of soondae (Korean sausage) and pork with soondae salt - a lot of food, but we shared it. There was an array of condiments to add to the soups, the usual - green onions, crushed perilla seeds, salt pepper etc. By the way, there are only 3 banchan served here, kimchi, kakdugi, chives. Simple. Don't bother coming here with a 'customer is always right' attitude, it's just humble, uncomplicated, honest bowls of hours long cooked, delicious, traditional Korean style broths, in a normal neighbourhood catering to all classes of customers. Unpretentious, warm, hearty. When you comment that soondaeguk had 'a bunch of other meat in there', you're showing that your expectations were incorrect from the get-go, maybe Souplantation is a better option for you. read more

-We came here with a friend of ours on a Friday night. Our friend suggested this place because the food is delicious and I was sick and I was desperate of eating something hot. When we arrived to find parking, it took a little while because it was Friday night and everyone was out getting dinner. We finally found parking and walked to the restaurant. The parking lot is huge. The area where the restaurant is located has a lot of restaurants/ shops surrounding it so parking can be a little annoying to find if its busy. -The restaurant inside is a little small but we were able to get seated right away. They have a small menu but, they don't need a lot as the food smelled amazing when you walked in. They took our order and we didn't have to wait too long until they came back with our bowls of soup. The soup and the meat was amazing! Very flavorful and the portions are huge! I was surprised on how big the bowls were because I know I wasn't going to finish mine up. Meat was tender and sides were delicious. I for sure felt better after I left the restaurant. We will definitely come back again for more soup. read more

I ordered ahead to pickup due to the convenience and efficiency however for this restaurant when I got there they 1) did not have my complete order ready and 2) the order that was missing was not the same as what was pictured in their online menu. Because this is a Korean restaurant and many of their pictured menus were all in korean I relied on the photos. Well, don't do that cause the photos are not the same. When I irritatedly said okay fine I'll wait, the waitress happened to tell the owner who was walking by and explained "oh sir, this customer is saying the photos do not match and so the order was wrong" ~in Korean.. the owner (a gentleman) smirks and just says oh guess we gotta fix it ( all in Korean) no apology towards me or to even say that he's sorry for the inconvenience today. Just smirked, mumbled under his breath in Korean and walks away. But disgusting thing is that they serve same food, same taste, similar atmosphere but different name that they don't wat to be under franchise and pay extra money. I ordered Spicy Sundae Guk. First of all, it didn't come as full. looks that they spilled over a little bit somehow. But the Sundae itself tasted like they have put them onto the water more than 6 hours. I know how Sundae should taste like. because it's one of my favorite hot Korean soup. Just did a to-go. Person taking order over the phone was slightly rude, but when I went to pick-up 15mins later, the lady was super rude. I'm assuming it was the same person. I only took my amex card, and she said, "We don't accept amex". Naturally, I'm terrified and asked if I can pay via venmo or zelle, and she looked really annoyed and took my amex and swiped it. First and last time I will be coming here. Food was bland and tasteless, service was below decent and cleanliness was questionable. We ordered the soondae jiggae, soondae, bossam and the pork bone potato soup. Soondae jiggae had no flavor and had to add a bunch of things and turn it into something else to even make it worth eating. Soondae was just meh and we ended up trashing most of it. Bossam was just ok and had some strong flavors that I am not use to this dish having that ruined it for me, not exactly sure what but not good in my opinion. Pork bone soup was the best out of the group but that's not saying much. The soup tasted like they ran out of broth so they just put more water in it, and the meat was trash all fat and no actual meat. On top of all that the side dishes were not good and questionable color and consistency throughout all of them. Rice was super hard and staff said that's how it it's supposed to be. Food is alright. They have a decent variety of soups that are meant to be comfort food. Their customer service is seriously lacking though... I would think for being a new business located in Amerige catering to upper middle class Asians they'd have prioritized "customer is right" a little more. My mom and my 1-year old son were with me, things were a little hectic getting him settled so we didn't have a chance to look at the menu. The waitress came by and we discussed the options verbally. Ended up ordering soondae guk and galbitang with the server knowing it's our first time there. When it came out, the soondae guk was not what we had in mind, it had a bunch of other meat in there and very little soondae. When we called over the waitress, she said that there were other options available on the menu if we only wanted soondae and that we should've seen it on the menu. We explained it was a little crazy and we had our orders taken verbally but the waitress was not convinced, she said there was nothing that she could do and she just turned around and left. After that no waitress ever came by during the rest of the meal with offers to refill water or to check up on us. When they came by to drop off the check, they asked how it was and we said we had a bad experience, but upon hearing that she didn't say a word and just turned around again and left. Needless to say we didn't leave a tip. This reminds me of Korean restaurants be about 10 or 15 years ago where it was very traditional and customers didn't really have a choice. This type of dishes were originally introduced to areas in Pusan, 2nd largest city in Korea well known for their international trade and film festival and all.... During Korean War, when Chinese and North Korea with their community military power pushed all the way to the farthest to the sound line U.N. and U.S. military came into the Incheon code name 'Chromite' and save the county for the sake of democracy. !!!! during those time, lots of refugees and war ruins were usual seen around the country and this dish was introduced and well favored by ordinary people like you and me......
