Coming here reminds me of the good old days when the food was real, the menu is all in Korean and the nice waitresses speak mostly only Korean... then the panchan and food arrive in efficient manner and my soul as well as my tummy is satisfied. So happy to have discovered this place... my galbi tang was excellent - savory, meaty with plenty of rice and bone broth goodness! Also ordered the mandu which were the huge round-shaped ones... tasty, plump and juicy! We will definitely be back!
This place was great! I got the spicy galbi-jim, which was rich with flavor. As someone who has had many korean foods before, this place had a wide diversity of korean foods compared to other places. The service was also very kind and swift with the making of the food. The ambiance here was nice too!
Solid Korean restaurant that sells a variety of soups and stews! They are very generous with the banchan and have great service as well. The soups were hearty and very filling. The blood sausage was good as well. Tons of parking space!
I love my Korean soups so I'm always on the lookout to try new Korean soup spots. As soon as a Korean colleague recommended this spot for its authentic dishes, I knew a visit was overdue! Also, they have a $15 weekday lunch special for certain soups and if I had a big appetite, I would have ordered one of each HAHAHA. This is located in the Amerige Heights plaza and is on the same side of the plaza as 88 Katsu and Dookki. Around 11:30ish on a weekday, it was relatively easy to find parking. There's plenty of seating inside. We were able to be seated immediately. I like that they give you barley tea instead of just the typical water. The servers may not speak perfect English but at least their menu has photos and english translation, so don't be hesitant in trying them out. I was craving something comforting and I was feeling adventurous, so I went for the Soondae Guk, which consists of Korean blood sausage, intestines, stomach, etc. I personally love eating those so this was not a challenge for me. You can choose between non-spicy or spicy, just make sure to let them know when you order if they forget to ask. I was super delighted when it came out because they packed so much stuff in my soup!! Don't forget to flavor your soup with some salt that they have set aside. If you use the shrimp paste, just be aware that it's extremely salty. You can add it to the broth or put some on your rice. My other coworkers got the Yukgae Jang as she was craving something more flavorful and spicy, and the portions were very generous! The Pork Belly soup looked quite comforting as well. The server was constantly on the lookout and made sure to refill any side dishes that we wanted. Our group loved the fish cakes and pickled radish. I definitely need to be back before the $15 lunch special is over, gotta try them all!
Came here for the lunch special, and it's a steal for these days. $15 for a big bowl of noodle soup with sides. You can't go wrong with that these days. It's a cute restaurant on the inside, and I nerded out for the tables. There is a drawer at each table with all your utensils you need in there. Very carefully placed, and it just made my experience much better just seeing that. The food was delicious. The Yukgae Jung was packed and very hearty. It is definitely the bang for your buck in terms of quantity. The Seolleong Tang was a light broth that makes you feel very warm. My wife enjoyed it a lot. Overall, I loved it here. I would love to come back and try other dishes or even their dinner menu.
I wanted to give this place 5 stars but I'm not really sure if I'd really be coming back too often. The food was really good! A very home-y mom n pop type of shop! My friend ordered the special pork belly soup and I ordered the ox knee soup! The banchan was really good as well! my friend loved the fish cake and my fave was the kimchi that's was perfectly fresh and spicy! Portions for the pork belly soup was good but the ox knee soup was lacking a little bit of meat in my opinion. When we asked for a container to pack some of the banchan home they didn't let us. We thought that was such a waste of food and we only asked for a refill on some banchan once so we weren't really being greedy with the banchan :c
Really great korean comfort food, I went in during lunch to grab a bite. They have a lunch special $14.99 with a set menu includes mostly hot soups and cold noodles (Naenmyeon). I got the Yukgaejang and my friend got the Naenmyeon. Yukgaejang was slightly spicy with shredded brisket, egg and bracken fern (Gosari). It also came with glass noodles and a bowl of rice. The portions are big, I saved half for leftovers. The Barley Tea is refreshing and light perfect to the meal. The Banchan was pleasant, the kimchi is a good tell and it didn't disappoint. Not too fermented but not super fresh where the marinade didn't seep through. The radish, fish cakes, bean sprouts were average. Staff and service were really quick on taking orders and delivering the food within a couple of minutes.

There was a good amount of pork belly, heart, and intestine that made the dish very filling. Their Banchan was fresh as well and I really enjoyed their fish cake and tofu. Promo: Lunch special: 6 different soups for $13.99 each. From 10am-2pm (dine in and weekdays only). Wish the promo applied on the weekends, but it's only on the weekdays. The flier that was posted outside of the shop didn't mention that it was only for the weekdays. No worries... moving on. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restrooms: Restrooms are available. Location/Parking: Located in a decent size plaza with decent amount of parking spots. If you can't find parking in front of the restaurant, you can find a lot of more, towards the back. Ambiance/Decor: Nice ambiance with modern furnishings. On the side of the table, there's a little drawer that you can slide open and get your utensils. Service: Endy, server, was very nice, friendly, and attentive. She also ave me good suggestions on the soup that I should get. Food came out at a decent time and Endy was a good sport when I asked for many refills on the banchan. Soup Of Choice: Note: Meal comes with barley tea, bowl of brown rice, and 6 unlimited banchan side dishes. There was a moment when I wasn't sure my order went through. On the status update, it only said sent but not confirmed. I showed up to the restaurant and my food was ready. The food was packaged without spills. I had expected lids but they were plastic films that frankly took me some time to peel off and I worried about microplastics as the soup and rice were hot under there. Only 2 side dishes came with my to-go order, regular kimchi and radish kimchi. I ordered the ox knee bone soup. The meat was tender. Salt came on the side so I seasoned it to my liking. The broth was not as rich as some others I've had, it was white but not quite milky. Overall a satisfying meal but nothing special.

This place serves amazing spicy Sundaeguk. The soup is flavorful and satisfyingly spicy, and the ingredients are super fresh. There was no unpleasant smell at all, which is very important for a good Sundaeguk. Highly recommend!
I went there for lunch recently for the first time in years, and the prices were the same as 7-8 years ago. The free side dishes were also delicious. These days, dining out is so expensive that it's hard to choose a restaurant, but I think the owner made a very wise decision. When you live generously and share with others, you'll be blessed and make plenty of money. They've brought back the original flavors, and the service was great too. I'll always be happy to open my wallet for food like this. Try having a bowl of soondae soup with a shot of soju, like you see on Korean TV -- it's the true taste of Korea. @This lunch price is reasonable. These days, Korean food prices are way overpriced.

Decided to check this spot out since we were in the area. It was just the two of us and we got 2 dishes but we still couldn't finish it. Korean portions are insaneeee! We had to get the Galbi Tang- ox tail were sooo tender, fell off the bone. With the glass noodles and yummy broth. I wish there were more glass noodles in there. Served with a side of rice. Good size. We were able to finish it! Bossam- it was brought out and placed on the little stove at the table to be kept hot. I wish it came with more cabbage. I felt like I was rationing it but at the end we still didn't finish this dish. I love that shrimp thing it was comes with. Perfect with the bossam. So many side dishes and the kimchi was delicious!! We had to ask for more. Perfect w the rice. The ladies were quick to serve us and very nice. We asked how to correctly eat the bossam and she showed us. A cozy Korean restaurant serving your stews and hot dishes perfect for a rainy or cold day. Majority of the items are in Korean but you can use photos or google translate if needed. There were two ladies working: one to take your order or refill your banchan and one in the kitchen cooking. Although there was a language barrier, both ladies were very nice. One refilled our fish cake and kimchi when we asked. This meal was perfect for two people who wanted a light dinner! There's also extra salt and pepper at the tables if you would like more seasoning to your dishes. We will be back to try the spicy pork neck bone stew. Nice rustic charm to the interior which made it feel homely. The service was good, and the banchan was pretty decent. I asked about the lunch specials since the online image didn't specify whether it was weekday only or that included weekends. Found out it was weekday only so a little disappointed and made a big difference in price since I was thinking of getting a yukgaejang but prices here on weekends is pricier than other korean soup places while the food was honestly slightly underwhelming for the price. If the quality of the food was above other places or prices were on par with other places I would rate it higher, but weekday lunch special prices make more sense than regular hour pricing. read more

I've got Gamja Tang and it's just perfect! The pork bones are tender and the portions of the soup is so good for this price. Servers are friendly and welcoming. This place is such a gem. We ordered the galbijjim and it was absolutely amazing -- super tender short ribs, rich savory sauce, and perfectly balanced with rice cakes and veggies. You can tell it's made with care and real Korean home-style flavor. They also have cold beer that pairs perfectly with the food, which made the whole experience even better. The ambiance is warm and comfortable, great for a relaxed dinner, and the staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming, which really makes a difference. I came here for lunch with my boyfriend and our friend. We were seated immediately and the atmosphere is simple but homey. I ordered the Cold Buckwheat Noodles with Brisket and Radish. My boyfriend got the Bulgogi Noodle Soup. Service here was good and we didn't have any issues. I liked how the utensils were all in a drawer at the end of the table, I've never seen that before. The banchan was super tasty and we got a good amount. I especially loved their mashed potatoes here. My cold noodles were super chewy and the broth had a refreshing and clean taste. I thought this place was delicious! Not busy on a Sunday and plenty of parking available. Service was quick and nice. Food was DELICIOUS. I was a little concerned coming in and not seeing many customers but don't let that turn you away! Food came out quickly and it was so good. Came in for dinner around 8:20; they close at 9 and we were told last call was in a few minutes. We placed our orders right away; I ordered the ox tail soup. Side dishes came out a few minutes after ordering - fish cake, kim chi, radishes, bean sprouts, and tofu. Our food came out very quickly as well, a few minutes after the side dishes. We were asked to pay the check when the food came, since they were closing in half an hour. We ended up speed-eating our food and finished in about 15-20 minutes; they started cleaning up all the tables so we felt quite rushed. The meal itself was a smaller portion. Some meat and a small handful of noodles. Not sure if it's always that small, or if it was because we came before closing. We made it out right before closing time, and there were still other customers sitting when we left. Overall, food was decent and service was quick.
