My friend and I came here for brunch around 10:20am on a Friday, not knowing breakfast would end at 10:30am. There was no line at the counter, so we were we able to get our breakfast order in. I couldn't decide between the breakfast sandwich and the breakfast burrito. The server recommended the sandwich because it is only available on weekdays, whereas the burrito is available every day. Both of us got the breakfast sandwich, which was served on a pig-shaped wooden board. It was so good! The toast was buttered and toasted perfectly. The egg was cooked just to the point where the yolk was still soft but not runny. The flavor combo was on point. There was also a separate chocolate counter inside the restaurant, where the chocolatier offered samples of a variety of chocolate bars. The one that stood out the most for its uniqueness was the elote chocolate. The taste reminded me of Dorito's chips! It was good but I wouldn't eat a whole bar of it. I ended up getting a Peruvian dark chocolate that had a delicious blueberry taste. Pricing is not listed, so I didn't know it would cost a shocking $16.50. I will definitely come back to try the breakfast burrito, but no more chocolate for me.

Wow, did I love this place! I had not heard anything about it until I recently saw an Instagram post from Mark Tarbell saying how much he enjoyed this place. Of course, that got my attention, so I made a reservation to make sure we could get in. I knew I would love the feel of this place the minute we drove in to the parking lot. The front patio is lovely, and kind of closed off to cars going by. There is a vegetable garden in front of the restaurant, which is an old house. Their tables outside near the garden, but our reservation was for inside. The inside is lovely. There are chocolate wrappers on one was, which I think is very clever. The front room has a bar, but we were seated in the back room which was fantastic because we sat right next to the kitchen. It is totally open to the kitchen, just like if you were in your home. Our table was just outside the kitchen so we could see all the goings on, including chef Tandy doing her thing. She was the one to bring us our food. Have you ordered a beer, and I ordered the Embers Mocha Martini. It's was so yummy--especially the cocoa whip. We also ordered the Cacao Bread. It's definitely a unique bread. It actually has cacao in it which kind of makes it taste like a bitter coffee, but then you put the whipped honey butter with cocoa nibs (I think??) on it and it's so delicious. I think if you come here, trying the Cacao Bread is a must. Have you ordered the meatloaf which was served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The meatloaf actually comes in its own little cast iron loaf pan. Even though the sauce on it is red, it's not a traditional tomato sauce. It's almost like a gravy and it is really good. I ordered the chicken and dumplings, which comes in a little individual crock with a lid. Because it comes straight from the oven in the crock, it's quite hot and I had to wait for it to cool down - - it was worth the wait. I absolutely love the dumplings which were like little scoops of bread. It was so delicious! Our server was really good. I was curious about the bread before we ordered it, and he was able to give a very detailed description of what was in the bread and what the flavor was like. I really appreciated it and I'm really glad that he suggested we order it. I feel like this place is truly a gem. I'm sorry I hadn't heard about it before because this place could quickly become one of our favorites.

Do not sleep on Tandy's! After seeing a post on Instagram, I gave it a try and so glad I did. The service was 10/10, the atmosphere was so cozy, and though I didn't sit outside the patio looked adorable. The food was so so good! Everything was fresh and they brought things out one at a time so you could really enjoy it before starting the next course. The hummus and the grilled asparagus were my favorites. The dumplings were different, more chicken pot pie like which I wasn't expecting but still good. I'll definitely be back to try the brunch next!

Stopped in for brunch on their lovely patio while the weather is still nice. Their menu is a bit more limited than what's on their website, but still something for everyone. I went with shakshuka- two baked eggs in a flavorful tomato sauce with chunks of feta and two thick slices of a tasty toasted bread that was full of spices and flavor. It's served in a little cast iron skillet and is surprisingly filling. Definitely worth checking out.

Went here for brunch on a Saturday, and while it was good overall, there were definitely some pros and cons: First the parking is limited. Even though the place was not very busy, there are probably about 15-20 total spots. We parked across the street, but not ideal. The inside of Tandy's is very nice though, and the seating is comfortable. It felt more like a place to bring a larger group than a date. Second, for the food, I wanted the pain au chocolate, but for $10 I was swayed to try the $5 expresso banana bread instead. This was a very small piece for $5 in my opinion, and though good, did not taste good enough where the $5 price seemed justified, and made me glad I did not swing for the pain au chocolate. We also got the shakshuka and the pork chilaquiles. Both of these had good taste, but are far from what was expected or traditional. The shakshuka is what I have come to find at most places in the US - thick and more of a over hard egg in an almost omelete mix with peppers and tomatoes served with a thick piece of bread that does not absorb well. Again, I enjoyed the dish, but it had no spice, and I would have preferred bread and runny yolk and sauce which would have made the dish more traditional. The chilaquiles were similar in that the focus was on the pork, which was tasty, and a large serving, but there was a lack of spice and not enough egg to make it what I would call chilaquiles. In addition to these we got a latte, drip coffee, and the mimosa bucket, which was an upsell from the server. The mimosa bucket was fine. You get two juice cup choices with it...though the cups provided are not meant for pouring. For $34 it didn't move the needle either way. My third issue, which may be small, was that there was no refill on the drip coffee. That left me with little surprise for a bill at about $93 before tip. I may go back, as the venue is nice, but at the price paid, it really didn't feel any different than other options in Phoenix.

Another memorable dinner at 2320 East Osborne Street! Tandy's Cafe is the third restaurant iteration that we have dined at that location. Tandy's is similar to Binkley's because they serve memorable plates and outstanding experiences. The chef's chocolate skills are apparent in many items. The room is still very comfortable and welcoming. The service is attentive.

A new favorite spot for us -- what started as a tip from a yoga instructor turned into three delicious visits in a row. For brunch you order at the counter and can choose indoor or outdoor seating; everything feels warm and cozy the moment you walk in. We tried breakfast first: my husband (a burrito aficionado) declared their breakfast burrito the best he's ever had -- and I, who'd never had one before, was converted. We also shared a brown-butter cookie that was dangerously good (wish I'd snapped a photo before we devoured it). Dinner the next weekend felt special -- quaint ambiance, wonderful staff, and friendly neighbors who clearly come often. We had corn queso, chicken and dumplings, trout amandine, mashed potatoes, roasted cauliflower, and a decadent dessert (maybe a banana split?) -- every dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Brunch on Valentine's weekend didn't disappoint either. My husband had the crab benedict and I had the smash burger -- two patties, perfectly cooked pink in the middle, juicy and topped with grilled onions and a killer sauce. On earlier visits I'd noticed lots of burgers coming out of the kitchen -- now I know why. We took a few pastries home and they were all fresh and scrumptious. Between the food, the friendly staff, and the cozy atmosphere, this place feels like a true neighborhood treasure. Can't wait to go back.

Wow!! Such delicious food. We started with the cocao bread and honey butter, divine!! We had Caesar salads with great dressing and nice slices of Parmesan. For entrees two ordered the chicken pot pie, one ordered the pork shank and I ordered the NY strip. We shared the tallow fries, OMG, everything was delicious! The zero proof Mai Tai was so yummy. The pinot noir was great. For desserts (don't judge, we were feeling it) were great; peach pie, crème brûlée, brownie with ice cream and european hot dark chocolate!! Such a wonderful night. We visited with Tandy, the chef/owner and she is so nice. And last but not least is Celeste, our wonderful waitress. Very personable and attentive. We will definitely return, I hear brunch is outstanding!!

So we never got to try binkleys, but this is the restaurant that replaced it. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that a majority of the staff, including the chef, we're all former employees at that restaurant, and to some degree carry on that legacy. It's such a cute, unassuming restaurant inside of a house. The menu is rather small, and upon asking further questions is likely to have some seasonal rotation, but also maintain some dishes as well. Our server was quite friendly and conversational. He gave us a rundown of the menu and offered some recommendations. We opted to start with the cacao bread. I would recommend if you down here try anything that has chocolate in it, as one of the chefs is a chocolatier. This bread is a fun take on savory meeting, sweet. The butter was outstanding. We then shared a Caesar salad. It was quite hanging with the cilantro, lime dressing, but nothing out of the ordinary. As for dinner, we shared the brussels sprouts, the meatloaf, and the chicken and dumplings as house favorites from our servers recommendations. The Meatloaf was delicious, and the mashed potatoes I came with it were phenomenal. I was obsessed with the brussels sprouts, and honestly think they would be a great starter. The chicken and dumplings were good. Very reminiscent of a chicken pot pie with the creamy savoriness of it. If you're looking for a dish by the book, that's traditional in that sense, that would probably be the one for you. For dessert we had the creme brûlée, and it was good, just like a traditional vanilla bean creme brûlée. I actually enjoyed the raspberry macaroon they topped it with a bit more than the creme brûlée itself, simply because I don't normally like macaroons so it surprised me. All in all, this is such a cute little restaurant for a date night. You could even do a special occasion as well. I think you get incredible bang for your buck as we only spent $173 before tip for all the food And two drinks each. I was definitely expecting it to be 200+. I especially loved that The chef came over to talk to us as it felt special to learn more about their story from one of the people who was there originally. I will definitely come back, and I'm very excited to see how the menu evolves and changes.

I'd been wanting to check out Tandy's ever since it opened in the space that once housed Binkley's and Larder and Delta (huge fan of both). It has a wonderful local feel--exactly the kind of neighborhood café Phoenix needs. Heads-up though: brunch is counter service, so it's first-come, first-served. When I called ahead to ask about wait times, they mentioned no reservations were needed but didn't explain the ordering format, so I was slightly caught off guard walking in. Once I figured it out though, the gentleman taking orders was fantastic, very personable, funny, and made the whole experience enjoyable. Parking took a lap or two around the block, but nothing too painful. We snagged a table for four without issue, though there was a small mix-up with one dish initially going to the wrong table. Now for the food: my pork shank with eggs was exceptional. Can you say TENDERNISM--beautifully flavored, the mole was delicious, and the eggs were cooked just right. Only minor critique...... A touch heavy on the pickled onions, but that's nitpicking. The Crab Benedict got mixed reviews at our table--one person thought it needed more flavor, another found it very dill-forward and a bit cold. Both loved the hollandaise consistency, though. The breakfast burrito was solid, but those breakfast potatoes, really good. The small menu shows they're focused on doing things well, which I appreciate. I do think switching to table service for brunch would elevate the everything to match the quality of what's coming out of the kitchen. All in all, I'm really glad Tandy's is here. Great service, genuine neighborhood vibes, and food worth coming back for. I'll definitely be returning, and I have a feeling this place is here to stay.

My family and I had a beautiful dinner here last night at Tandy's. It's one of the most prettiest settings. We had been here prior it was a different restaurant. Tandy's preserves the natural beauty of it. The food was quite delicious and they have an excellent happy hour. My most favorite was the cacao bread and the trout. The burger was said to be rich and flavorful. Service was great and professional. They also specialize in chocolate making. I would love to try it next time!

Beautiful dog-friendly patio right by the garden. Backs up to Osborn so there can be some road noise and wind from the street traffic. If you are sensitive, there is a quaint dining area inside. The blue corn waffle had an exceptionally satisfying crunch. The sweetness of the blueberries are perfectly balanced with the saltiness of the waffle and crispy fried chicken. Shashuka baked egg is a treat to find in Phoenix. Good za'atar spice and perfectly toasted sourdough. Would like a heavier hand in the spices and herbs but enjoyed all the flavors. I left satiated and will be back to try some of the house made pasties and chocolate. There is also a great mid-century furniture store nearby, Twig and Twine to round out your day.

The flies were a nuisance as we swatted them from landing on our food. There was little in the way of service except to drop your food and nothing else. You get your own cup of water, silverware, and napkins. The outdoor seating is nice minus the flues. read more

Fantastic from A to Z! Incredible drinks, food and atmosphere. Wow! Tandy's was fantastic. Everyone was so professional and kind. The drinks were perfection--true craftsmanship at a great price point. Between the delicious food and the perfect patio ambiance, we had an incredible Saturday night. What makes Tandy's an incredible spot is you can go and chill with your friends or if you're looking to impress a date, this is the spot! The bartender's Old Fashioned was phenomenal, especially when enjoyed with their Cacao Bread and Honey Butter. I ordered the Chicken & Dumplings, which came in a petite crock; it was absolutely bursting with flavor. Since the plates are designed for sharing, the focus is on divine quality over large portions. We also loved the sides--the Broccoli in garlic butter and parmesan was a dream, and you can't go wrong with either the mashed potatoes or the frites. We capped it all off with a slice of mulberry pie that was just fantastic. I'll definitely be back for brunch and happy hour. Amazing food and delicious coffee. Seating at the bar is very vibey and the outdoor seating in the garden is very zen. Service was a little slow, but maybe we all just need to embrace slowness more. What a quaint and cozy place! What I thought was a quick coffee pitstop turned out to be a marvelous experience! I was greeted by a very nice gentleman at the bar, he was so kind and informative. He helped me craft the perfect coffee to start my day. While the menu looks fantastic, I wasn't really too hungry so I decided to get a side of bacon to snack on. The barista let me know that they made their own chocolate there, so I wandered over to check out Missy's chocolate bar. She was so generous and entertaining, teaching me so much about the process on how they get from tree to treats. I bought a couple chocolate bars to take home, I can't wait to share them with my family. I was surprised to see a familiar face, Joby brought out my bacon and was super friendly! He is the best, go see Joby and tell him I sent you! I enjoyed my coffee and my bacon on their beautiful patio, which even has a gorgeous growing garden nearby! This place has a very unique and comforting vibe, I felt like I wasn't in the heart of Phoenix but enjoying breakfast in a cottage out of a storybook. A total WOW. From the hospitality, to the environment (love the on-site gardening), to the food...one home run after another. In fact, I'm hard-pressed to think of many of my Michelin or James Beard experiences that have delivered at this level. Don't skip the bread service - inventive & delicious. updating my review since i had the pleasure of coming here for my birthday dinner! the first impact of the garden as you walk up is SO LOVELY! i love how home-y everything feels. service is always kind and calm. to start, my parents got glasses of sauvignon blanc, and i got their elote margarita (delicious! a must try!). we ordered everything to share, starting with the cacao bread which was savory, soft, chocolatey, DELICIOUS! it was paired with an amazing, sweet (but not too sweet) whipped honey butter topped with cacao nibs. the perfect way to start the meal, especially considering bread is my favorite food and i will ALWAYS order bread service. we also got their spinach salad, mole black beans, chicken & dumplings, meatloaf, and trout amandine for dinner. everything felt home-cooked; it was one of the most comforting and delicious meals i've had as of recently. the chicken & dumplings were my favorite entree, while my mom absolutely adored the trout with wild rice, and my dad was partial to the meatloaf. at this point i tried the chocolate negroni as well, and i just have to say the candied chocolate orange garnish it came with was the BEST combo i never expected. we also got their slice of pie (cherry) and their brownie with pistachios. the pie was delicious and crumbly, the brownie was more cake-y rather than a "true" brownie texture. my mom gave them the highest honor of being named her favorite restaurant in the valley HAHA! i would easily agree that they're one of my new favorites too (i've been thinking about their shakshuka ever since i got it nearly a couple months ago). read more

Been hearing good things & was finally able to try dinner recently. The food was great! The chicken & dumplings were delicious but the price for the portion was a tad disappointing. The trout & burger also great & portions more on par for the price. Our server may have been relatively new based on her responses to some of our questions and not being able to make solid recommendations. read more

We chose Tandy's for our family graduation celebration and it was wonderful. Herding a group of 12 is not easy. Great communication prior to the event, including recommendations for apps and entrees. Excellent service from the whole team. Perfect pacing. Super-even food quality across the board. Multiple family members commented that the little things (the broccoli, the bread, the citrus salad) were the best they've ever had. There was a small skirmish over the leftovers. The whole staff pitched in to make our group feel special, humored all the dad jokes at the table, made sure there was always water (and wine), and just generally did a great job of running a restaurant and a private dining situation at the same time. I've previously eaten here in a bar seat (once for dinner, and then for lunch) and the quality is the same regardless of what service mode they are in. This place has my heart. Also, just order the steak. Don't think about it. You'll be so happy. read more

The food is delicious! We ordered online and it was ready and waiting for us when we picked it up on our way to returning our rental car and flying home from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. The turkey and avocado sandwich was flavorful and the quinoa arugala salad was tasty as well! WOW! Truly a life changing experience. This place blew us away, so good we came back two days in a row because we couldn't stop thinking about it. Tandy's Cafe is one of those places that immediately feels special the moment you walk in, and it all starts with the people. Tandy herself is truly the heart of this place. She treats everyone incredibly well, remembers faces, and genuinely cares about every guest who comes through the door. Well everything we ordered was amazing! Burger fries and salad were all delicious. Tea & coffee too . Didn't try the pastry but that's ok because we will definitely be back . Service was outstanding, everyone is charming & helpful. Had to buy chocolate on the way out because they have a local chocolate sugar free bar . Who can resist ! Patio & interior are also great . The food was amazing. We got the breakfast burrito with the most perfect potatoes ever, and the best salsa. We also got the breakfast sandwich, which was perfect. The people working there were SO nice, and explained everything for us. The garden was beautiful, inside had great AC, and you can sit by the kitchen where you can watch them cook your food. I am a BIG cookie gal, and they had the BEST browned butter chocolate cookie I've ever had (and that's saying a lot coming from me). read more

This tucked away Cafe was better than I expected. I was looking for a new restaurant to try and saw the reviews and knew I had to try it out. So glad that I did! Read about Tandy's opening a couple of months ago...went for dinner and loved it! As a longtime Phoencian really appreciate the spot being open again. Food, Wine selection, service and outdoor seating was just fabulous. Indoor looks great also - small bar area so will be back for indoor dining during the hot weather. Went with the wife and we both loved it! Spinach salad was very tasty with great vinaigrette and citrus additions. Pork shank was fabulous in a mole sauce. Generous portion. Wife's meatloaf was good but she felt it was a little dry. Sauvignon blanc was delightful. James our server was top notch! We also bought some chocolate on the way out. Tandy's is a chef-owned neighborhood café founded by chef and chocolatier Tandy Peterson. Tandy's culinary journey began with a deep love of food and hospitality, shaped through years of professional training — including six formative years working under James Beard–nominated chef Kevin Binkley. Meet the Business Owner: Tandy P.

Tandy Peterson grew up in Wyoming raising cattle — naming every one after spices like salt, pepper, sugar, nutmeg, and basil. Even then, food was never just food. It was connection. That instinct carried her through years of training under James Beard–nominated chef Kevin Binkley, through kitchens in Spain, Chicago, Alaska, and Phoenix, and eventually into chocolate — not as an afterthought, but as a craft in its own right. She built Embers Chocolate around one principle: make everything from scratch, from bean to bar, and never cut corners. Tandy's is the fullest expression of that philosophy. Housed in a converted Midtown Phoenix residence, it's part neighborhood café, part working chocolate studio — where the food tastes like childhood and the chocolate is roasted and ground on-site. She built it to slow people down, bring them to the table, and make them feel at home.

Downstairs gets quickly reserved so seats upstairs are where they push overflow patrons. Right outside Flint's doors downstairs there is a staircase which opens up to the upstairs dining area. Service was prompt, and we got our drinks by the time we had our mains decided. I got a glass of red to pair with my steak. My partner had a refreshing cocktail, but it was decent. The highlights of the night were the food. SO MUCH FOOD! And it was TERRIFIC! For starters we got the artichoke hummus. It sounded a bit weird, but all it was was regular hummus with 4 artichoke hearts that were crispy. The artichoke hearts were crisp, but moist, and I could have kept eating those all day. It comes with 1 pita bread. The server told us to order another and we did, turns out we needed it as the pita breads were quite small ($3 +). Sure only 3 bucks, but nickel and dime if you are spending $14 on an app... For mains I got the filet medium rare with a side of regular potatoes. My partner got the salmon skewer with a side of asparagus. Both the dishes were cooked perfectly and they were familiar dishes with a slightly exotic touch to it. Must be the middle eastern part of the restaurant. The steak came with a ganache or accompaniments of middle eastern sides. For food, we started with the French onion soup and got the salmon and yellowtail hand rolls. We also wanted to try the spicy lobster hand roll, but they were out of lobster. We also ordered the French dip sliders, mini lobster rolls, and the pastrami Reuben egg roll. The sliders were really flavorful, and the mini lobster rolls were tasty. The only thing that we don't really like was the Reuben egg roll; the filling was good, but the wrapper wasn't crispy and was kind of soggy. It was nice and quiet while we were there, and free parking was a nice bonus. I try, I review, glad we came to give it a try.

I absolutely enjoyed the pasta I got as the noodles were the perfect texture, sauce was flavorful, and the blend of it all was amazing. The portions were filling as well which I appreciated! We also came back during their lunch service to try their viral sandwich with the shredded Parmesan cheese and it was amazing! The only reason I didn't give this updated review a 5-I ordered the banh mi sando and the sandwich was so dry. Chicken was dry. The cilantro wasn't chopped I had to pick out long stems. Also I got the AZ frosè and the rosemary syrup was just way too pungent to enjoy the whole beverage. I wished it had been more balanced. Especially when the French fries are heavily seasoned with rosemary--a bit too much.

Needless to say we really liked all three: picadillo, arroz con pollo and guava and cheese - the picadillo was the favorite however both for the inside flavor and the accompanying dip. Pricing is not bad I'd say the serving and size of the three empanadas for $14 is a great price.

Since it was the middle of June it was already hot outside at a cool 105 degrees temperature. We were surprised to see the restaurant had the front door propped completely open letting the hot air into the restaurant. Since this is a small restaurant you really couldn't escape the heat. The heat unfortunately caused us to leave after a short while.

Watch out for fees: They auto-added a 1.5% credit card surcharge without informing us upfront. It's frustrating for a larger, modern venue to pass off merchant fees like that. Check your bill carefully!

We don't usually leave plates this clean, but we practically licked every one. The 5-course tasting menu for $75/person is one of the best values we've ever had. They gave us different dishes, so we were able to try almost the entire menu--from the steak tartare and yellowtail aquachile to strawberry/tomato, asparagus, chicken croquette, branzino, chicken, and two knock out desserts. Every course was outstanding, and the portions left us perfectly full. We also splurged on the wine pairing, and Zac, the wine director, absolutely nailed it. Every pairing elevated the meal. The most surprising part? The tasting menu hasn't gone up in price since they opened in 2017. They could easily charge three times as much, and we'd gladly pay it. Incredible food, incredible service, and an unbelievable value. We can't wait to come back.
