The pollo a la brasa here is probably the best in town and this whole chicken special is priced reasonably. Some of their other dishes are also very good such as the saltado de pollo however a bit on the pricey side. I absolutely love the salsas specially the red one, however the last 3 times I ate here the salsas were extremely over salted. They need to go back to basics with the salsa and not try to over do it (it was good enough already doesn't need the extra salt) blah. By far more than just a chicken place. I wanted something delicious and more delicious. I came here with someone who is native to Peru and the food was fabulous. There was plenty of parking in front of the building and on the street. I ordered a whole chicken and it came with two sides. I got french fries and beans. The Pollo a la Brasa was soooo good. My tastebuds were singing in pure ectasy. The chicken came with 3 different sauces. I have to say that I was a bit obsessed with the sauces. Theres a yellow, green and orange. Varying levels of spice. All delicious. The beans were pinto in a white sauce it was soo flavorful. The plate was a whole chicken and it came with a monstrous side of handcut french fries. HUGE amount. We also ordered Lomo Saltado and Maracuya(Passion Fruit) drink and a Chica Morada (purple corn) drink. The lomo saltada was fantastic full of flavor with hints of soy and tomatoes and onions and a side of rice and french fries within. The Passion Fruit drink was great, we asked and they were made from the fruit not a package or powder and the same with the chica morada (we weren't big fans). I will definitely be back. The chicken was 18.99 for a whole chicken it it can easily feed 3-4 people. I want to eat my leftovers now. read more

This is a small low-cost restaurant run by real Peruvians. The food looks much better than the restaurant itself, and it tastes great. Unlike my expectations, the food was not very greasy. The only problem is that they cannot handle large groups easily because their kitchen is small. Also, I wish they use better drinking glasses. read more

Came here with the kids after getting a groupon after a friend of ours recommended we try a Peruvian restaurant. We got the ceviche and the kids got what looked like a Peruvian burrito, and it was all very tasty. I'm not sure if I would come here often without a groupon as the food isn't cheap, but I'm glad we came either way. read more

Price: 4/5 - It's definitely on the pricier side but the food mostly warrants the higher price. Expect to pay around $10-15 for food and about $3-4 for a drink. Service: 1/5 - The people don't really seem to care too much. They'll bring your food and come back to check on things once if you're lucky. If you ask for something it's not rare for you to have to ask again. I don't really expect much except for them to at least bring my food (and even then they sometimes forget to bring you something you ordered). Atmosphere: 3/5 - Pretty basic. They have tables and chairs. What else do you need? Nothing, according to them. Overall, I would recommend only because of the food. I visited this restaurant yesterday to place a takeout order. From the start, the employees were very rude. I was standing right in front of 3 employees at the register, and not one of them greeted or acknowledged me. After several minutes, I had to finally ask if I could place a takeout order. The younger man was rude and said they were working on another order. I then placed a order for the 1/4 chicken (dark) and a lomo saltado. I sat and waited for nearly and hour and asked if my order would be ready and waited an additional 15 minutes. To make matters worse, when I got home the chicken was white meat and my sister said the lomo was dry. In the time I waited, I could have driven further to Eagle Rock to Pollo A La Brasa where the service is fast and friendly and the lomo is delicious. read more

Best hand-cut french fries in Los Angeles. I know that you probably wouldn't go to a Peruvian restaurant for french fries, but I have to say that I love french fries and was pleasantly surprized not only that they were handcut, but also so go...very pleasant surprise. IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE NO RATING I WOULD. The service was terrible, the place looked filthy, and to top it all off the food was awful. I was expecting to at least enjoy the food a little with all these ratings but it was just awful! My steak was dry, my noodles salty, the chicken was cold, and the seafood was chewy. I don't know if they were having a bad day, but I would never set foot in this place even if I was offered a free meal. While visiting Los Ángeles I was on a quest to find good Peruvian food, I wasn't very successful. Someone recommended this place, and said it was the best chicken in town... well if this is the best I have to stop searching right now. I've had better chicken from a grocery store! This was dry and flavorless like it had been cooked days ago, the French fries were limp and had a weird brown color. The salad was ok but the canned slices of beets on top are not appetizing. The service is bad, had to ask several times for basic items ....like a fork. I asked for alfajores at the end which were in the menu and the waiter said they didn't have any portions to sell but I could buy the box of 12 if I wanted. I got the box thinking it was a sealed box, no it was a refrigerated container that they could have easily open and sell them as the advertised dessert. Also alfajores are not to be refrigerated. I went there on a Sunday afternoon, service was great and the food was filled with flavor and so fresh. Ordered the Loma Saltado which was tasty and the chicken which was being cooked fresh on a rotisserie grill. (I usually prefer meat over chicken but this is completely different the chicken is incredible, so much flavor, so juicy.) Definitely recommend ordering both and trying them and also make sure to squirt their secret green sauce over EVERYTHING. It is spicy, creamy deliciousness in your mouth.
