Visiting Cincinnati for the first time, went looking for a pizzeria.Discovered Taglio in OTR. I went for the deep dish, tomato sauce, mozzarella and garlic. Incredible!! Crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had to be honest. Our server was friendly and helpful, explaining the various options. It kept coming on and off my list to try, mainly because the thin crust pizza didn't look impressive, but then I'd see that they do Detroit. I ordered a Detroit style margherita. They ran a reasonably efficient takeout operation, and like everything else in the area it was packed so I was glad I didn't hang around. The pizza crisped nicely. Their interpretation of a margherita didn't have enough tomato for my liking, but the basil was just enough. The small size they offer is basically half of what you'd think of as a Detroit style, which is okay by me because the large is probably tough to finish in one setting. Despite the relative lack of sauce, something in the cheese or dough was overly salty, and I do hate it when I spend the night getting up to repeatedly drink a ton of water to cancel it out. The thin crust pizza looked even less impressive in person, and the Detroit style was satisfying but not great. A pretty middle of the road experience for me. read more

I walked into today and because I was treated rudely and advised them of this rather than an apology I was told iwas not going to be allowed to get food there. Evidently the owner. Knows 2 things: ice cream, and blaming customers for a rude employee. We went to Taglio with the plan of getting a drink and app at the bar while we waited on our takeout pizza. Our bartender was fantastic and talked us through the menu very well as it was our first time there. She made it a great experience for us! They have two beers on tap that are made specifically to pair with their pizza sauce. Everything is house made and their dough is freshly made every day! We got cheesy bread and a salad while we waited & it was pretty solid! We ordered the large salad & split between the two of us which was plenty. Their pizzas are very customizable. We ordered a Detroit style, large, half and half pizza of pepperoni + hot honey and the Italian. Our pizza was ready before we finished our appetizer, and our bartender took it to the back to make sure it stayed warm while we ate. Highly recommend! read more

Bianco tasted very good, but my favorite was the pepperoni + hot honey. A little sticky from the honey but it was salty and sweet and just what I wanted. My friend placed the order online at 8:30 on Saturday and we were given an estimated delivery time of 90 minutes to 2 hours, which we weren't happy about but we thought it is what it is because it was Saturday night after all. First time here and it was a good choice. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because it's not the best deep dish that I've had, but I was good and I will definitely come back. For $15 get a small personal pizza, salad and a drink and you can't beat that. read more

I walked in to Taglio with some high expectations. With Goodfellas in the area, and Mikey's down the street, there is certainly a lot of competition in the OTR pizza. While the others in the area are a by-the-slice snack or fill-up after a night, Taglio is a proper, sit-down and eat, pizza restaurant. The food, of course, is amazing. Thick, deep dish pizzas with a slightly sweeter tomato sauce, crispy pepperoni, and a slew of toppings piled on. You're gonna make a mess in the best way possible. Price is slightly higher than the rest of the area, but you're in OTR so it's to be expected. Service was friendly, but also refreshingly chill. You didn't feel pushed to order immediately, and they kept the ambience casual. There's a lot of TVs that are playing whenever there's a game, so anticipate it being on the louder side. It doesn't quite have the street cred as Mikey's, but Taglio is about to be a very big fish in the Cincinnati pizza pond. read more

The service here was horrible. Our server (Faith) forgot to put our food order in and we waited over an hour for our pizza to finally arrive and she blamed it on the kitchen. We were also the only table she had it was a very slow night. We also heard her and another server complain about us (3 people) wanting to split the tabs. This is located in the place of where Lachey's used to be - so it has room on the inside - the staff seemed nice enough. The issue is the price & what you receive for that price . . $12 for 4 normal sized mozzarella sticks - I expected them to be a bigger size because of a picture seen on social media but I was left majorly disappointed. $17 for a small detroit style margarita pizza add prosciutto - the pizza was pretty good but my crust on some pieces was so hard I ended up breaking a tooth - my tooth was already weak but still - the crushed tomatoes were so overpowering on the pizza but I had no option to do light - the proscuitto was crisp and plentiful - that I was happy about. It's expensive but pretty good if looking for Detroit style at a higher quality than jets but I'd stay away from the basic overpriced mozz sticks! read more

Best pizza in Cincinnati! They have two styles which are both great, and you can get any pizza in either style. Their drinks and beer selection is good too. We can always find a spot at the bar, and usually there's no issue getting a table even when it's busier. The service is always pretty quick too. It's a pretty casual place and sometimes more sports bar style when there are soccer games. Overall a great place for pizza any day of the week. read more

I recently visited on a Sunday, opted for the hot honey Detroit style, it was a good change of pace, I'm typically a New York style, and I live and die by Goodfellas . But their Detroit-style pizza is, as it should be, is noted by its thick, hearty bread. Despite the heavier base, there was a perfect balance of sauce and toppings The staff was their cordial and friendly. This restaurant has definitely piqued my interest, and I look forward to coming back to explore their other pizza style. Delicious pizza made for people who appreciate their taste buds. When I came to this location I feared parking would be terrible with it being OTR, but it wasn't bad and of course they have no control over the parking. The service was timely and without incident which was good because they were busy and it says something when they're busy and yet still efficient without you felling rushed. Food and drink was great and paired very well. Televisions were well placed so I could see several things at once which I appreciate. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Come for the special stay for the fun. They have a very respectable lunch special, and also a happy hour. These might get you in the door but the atmosphere itself will keep you there. So if you're skeptical about the food or the speed of service for lunchtime, have no fear try it out and you'll fair well. 2) Try the Detroit Deep Dish pizza. I love the test and texture of it. If you like a lot of sauce on your pizza you'll love this. And even if you've never tried Detroit Deep Dish give this one a shot and see what happens to your mouth, spoiler alert it Thanks you. Vegan pizza was excellent for one guest. Service was slow, inattentive, but friendly when they showed up. Had to ask for server more than once. Pizza orders were wrong, but they were willing to remove from the check. We left hungry. I have to mention that our party was one of four in the entire restaurant. read more

There are no pictures to accompany this post- it is that good. Parking is limited in the area so walking is encouraged unless you're doing carry out (online ordering system). As for reservations, they do not take them. However, in the handful of times I have been here, I have not had too long of a wait to get seated. Their specialty is the Detroit style pizza; feels like a nice balance of the NY thin crust and Chicago style deep dish. This remains my favorite and number 1 pick for pizza in Cincy. read more

To start, we got an Eggplant Stack. My hubby and I shared the Pepperoni & Hot Honey pizza NY style. My friend let us try a slice of her Deep Dish Buffalo Chicken. YUM!!!! Everything was delicious. It's hard to find good pizza in Cincinnati... Taglio offers some of the best Detroit Style and NY style pizza you can find in the area under one roof. The OTR location has a cool bar with TV walls. This is a great spot to catch a game, grab a beer, or even go on a date. The salads were big and fresh. The pizza is top tier. The service has been friendly every single time. I like to say my husband and I are pizza connoisseurs since we hail from a very Italian part of Wisconsin as well as having a good bit in our blood. Taglio was such a delicious experience and the vibes were immaculate! The New York style crust was baked perfectly and matched very well with the pizza lager. We also ordered the cheesy garlic bread, which was super good too. The bread took slightly longer to come out, so the manager gave us some mozzarella sticks on the house. Ordered takeout from this location when the Columbia Tusculum location ran out of Detroit crusts. On a busy Saturday, I was able to pick up my accurate order in about 30 minutes. I LOVE their Detroit pizza, perfect buttery, garlicky crust and delicious melty cheese. I had a scoop of the cookies and cream gelato for dessert which was a bit small for $5, but very tasty. Salads (Caesar and Gorgonzola cherry) and apps (fried green tomatoes and eggplant stack) are also good. read more

My absolute favorite pizza in Cincinnati and possibly ever! I love the pepperoni hot honey pizza! I prefer to get it Detroit style, but the New York style is also incredible. The Detroit style is made even better by ordering it with extra sauce! Otherwise, the edges tend to be just bread (very good bread, but I love sauce). I can conveniently order it to be delivered to my house for a $5 fee (which is what I normally do) or I can pickup or dine inside. It does get pricey but it's so good that I don't mind spending the money on it. I also love to order a Caesar salad to eat before the pizza. read more

We went to Taglio on a weeknight and service was good but there were only a few other guests in the restaurant while we were there. We ordered Caesar salad (very good) and a medium half pepperoni and honey and half buffalo chicken pizza. The pepperoni honey half was good but nothing exceptional. The Buffalo chicken half tasted like bacon chicken ranch pizza - zero Buffalo flavor on the pizza. I asked for crushed red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese for the pizza and they charged for the Parmesan cheese which I thought was a bit much. Nothing inspires me to return because I've had better for less. The restaurant has a nice bar and access to screens. It would be good for a drink to watch a game. This location has a sports vibe to it, but has a lot of room to spread out and have your own space. They are known for their pizza, as they offer New York and Detroit style pizza. Although I do not doubt that Taglio's pizza could have helped Aeneas appease Juno on even her most ire-filled, Midol-laced day, I believe the REVERSE is equally true -- the giver becomes the recipient, the hand of G-d bestows Taglio pie upon Adam. In my good book, Taglio is heaven sent, and Eden is a much better place for it. Oops. In true epic fashion, i started in medias res. Let's rewind this story to its very beginning of the enchantment -- our waitress. Since the hostess was otherwise engaged in a 3-D Tetris match with two tables, a high chair, and a party of 6.5, the waitress greeted and seated us in accordance with my corner preference with nary a shadow of RBF crossing her face. She then gave us a concise explanation of "Detroit style" pizza (deep dish but as deep as Chicago-geologic-strata-style), and described Taglio's cheese-crust technology. I would give another 5 stars for this waitress alone, and, Taglio, if you are training wait staff to be this awesome, you will inherit the earth. We ordered a Detroit-style pie, half pepperoni and hot honey (Taglio's most popular pie) and half Buffalo Chicken Wing.
