My friends and I got the meatballs, fried chicken, bolognese, bruschetta, and the Caesar salad. The hits were definitely the meatballs and Tuscan fried chicken. We went for happy hour so the portions were smaller. For happy hour you can only sit at the bar, so we sat out doors by the bar and it was wonderful. We could talk freely and it wasn't too loud, but not silent either. The service was great the bartenders kept coming to check in on us!

This is my go to spot for espresso martini, no Baileys and a cowboy ribeye 18 ounce trust me it's worth the cost!

A bit on the pricier side but delicious Italian! I loved the vodka pasta and added chicken cutlet that was nicely thin and flavorful. I also had the calamari (unfortunately forgot the photo) and it wasn't the usual fried one I was expecting but flavorful nonetheless. And the meatballs were great in size and flavor! (Also forgot a photo)

We just came in and grabbed a bottle of wine at the bar. The service was awesome. Restaurant was beautiful inside. We didn't get to order anything because it was so late but it all looked pretty good. We will be back to eat here.

I had dinner at Tagliata with three girlfriends on Friday night. We've all lived in Baltimore for several years, but none of us had ever been to Tagliata. The restaurant is large, although a bit compartmentalized (the front room of the restaurant looked beautiful, but we were sat in the second dining area, which was comfortable but perhaps a bit less elegant). (FYI: They also have some outdoor seating, and they had plenty of heaters by the outdoor seating when we visited.) The service was good from start to finish. Our waitress was very friendly, explained the specials and any dishes on the menu that we had questions about, and was very attentive to our table, even though they were busy throughout our meal. The food was a little hit and miss for me. We shared everything, so we were able to try about 7 dishes. We started with the Caesar salad (Parmigiano-Reggiano, sourdough, black garlic Caesar dressing), which was pretty good (maybe not my favorite Caesar dressing, but it wasn't a bad salad). Our antipasti course was their calamari, which isn't your standard calamari dish (not fried, it's served on top of fregola, olives, capers, pine nuts, golden raisins, and Calabrian chili). This calamari dish was one of our favorites of the night. Talgiata offers eight housemade pasta dishes, and they offer them in two sizes - small and large. We decided to order 4 in the small size so we could try more of them! We ordered: the Acquerello Risotto (brown butter balsamic butternut squash purée, parsnip, hazelnut, and balsamic vinegar); the rigatoni alla vodka (tomato-cream sauce finished with vodka and Parmigiano); lobster ravioli (mascarpone, lemon, lobster cream sauce); and the squid ink campanelle (with fresh blue crab, uni cream, chili, basil, and breadcrumbs). As an experiment, we decided to try them all and then say which our favorites were at the same time. We both liked two a lot, and two much less, which I thought was amazing. We're four people with different palates and different preferences, but we agreed exactly. The risotto was undercooked (the rice wasn't al dente, it was just undercooked), and I didn't enjoy the flavor either. It had a strong vinegar flavor, which I think would come from finishing a dish with poor quality balsamic vinegars (aged balsamic doesn't have that very acidic taste that less expensive, un-aged, or even faux Balsamics have). None of us enjoyed it much. The lobster ravioli was also a miss for us. I found the lobster overcooked (it was on the chewier side), but the real problem I had with the dish was the thickness of the pasta. It wasn't thin enough so when they created ravioli from the pasta sheets, the corners and edges were extremely tough and chewy. The flavor was fine but didn't make up for the pasta itself. The two that we did really like were the rigatoni alla vodka and the squid ink campanelle. The rigatoni was really simple and traditional - just a comfortable bowl of pasta. The campanelle was also a hit generally at my table, but I would add that I don't think much seafood flavor came through (it tasted like well-cooked pasta in a good cream sauce), so I'm not sure the uni in the cream is doing much (if you got a bit with a bigger piece of crab, the seafood flavor came through, otherwise, I didn't get it from the cream or the pasta itself). We finished with their Bomboloni (ricotta doughnuts, pumpkin spice pastry ream, apples, praline, and hazelnuts). I thought the texture and taste of the doughnuts was amazing - really light and fluffy. I wish the dessert had ended there, because I didn't think anything else on the plate made the dish better (the pastry cream in particular I did not enjoy). I had a couple of glasses of Cava, which I enjoyed. My friends ordered a few different drinks: red wine, an N/A cocktail, an espresso martini... I think we enjoyed all of them (I did really enjoy my friend's N/A drink which was light and refreshing). The restaurant's espresso machine was broken, so they couldn't make any coffee at all, which was too bad - it would have been nice with dessert. Overall, the meal was pretty okay. There were dishes I liked and dishes I didn't enjoy much. Tagliata has the vibes of a place that is just a little too scene-y for me: style over substance. It's not bad, but I don't think it ranks among the best Italian restaurants in Baltimore for me.

Tagliata has been on my list of places to try for a while now and I'm glad I finally got a chance to go! Now that the weather has turned chilly, nothing sounds better than cozying up to a bowl of fresh pasta and a glass (or two) of red. The dining room is warm and dimly lit, perfect for a date night or evening out with friends. I came on a Friday night and while it was busy, the noise level was never too loud. Service was great. We made a reservation and were sat immediately. We ordered the calamari and Caesar salad to start. The calamari was not your traditional battered and fried version, but sautéd with olives, capers, and golden raisins. It was the perfect combo of salty and sweet! For our mains we got the lobster ravioli, the squid ink pasta, and the butternut risotto. My favorite was the squid ink by far! The texture and flavor were spot on with large chunks of crab and crunchy breadcrumbs on top. Definitely recommend. The lobster ravioli was good too but the squid ink was the star. The risotto was a bit crunchy and undercooked, unfortunately. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our meal! We will be back.

Tagliata is without a doubt the best Italian in Baltimore's inner harbor. When I lived in Baltimore, I would eat here almost daily, truly a home away from home. I stopped in again recently on a visit to Maryland and was so happy to see it's every bit as special as I remembered. The staff have always so kind and I still miss Milo, Abby, Carl, and Megan. The live piano is so peaceful and the atmosphere inside and on the patio are so charming. Chef Julian Marucci and the Atlas Group have created something special here. The salmon bruschetta, full lobster ravioli (ask for extra lobster!), and squid ink pasta are phenomenal. The pasta is handmade daily and so stunning. During COVID, they didn't have the lobster ravioli for a while, and I was so happy when it finally came back. It's a must order! Tagliata will forever hold a special place in my heart.

11.16.25 Hubby and I had a concert to go to at CFG Arena so I decided to select a restaurant nearby before the show to celebrate my birthday coming up in 1.5 weeks. When I did a search online, this restaurant received high reviews and had a lovely ambiance. I made reservations via OpenTable. When I made the reservation, I noted it was for my birthday. Upon being seated, I was given a handwritten birthday card. Our server was Christopher. He was knowledgeable informing us of the specials and offering a recommendation after my husband selected a particular glass of wine. Christopher started us off by providing us with complimentary bread. I ordered the lobster ravioli (half size) and my hubby ordered the chicken marsala with spaghetti. I enjoyed the succulent lobster and the flavorful sauce. My hubby enjoyed his entree as well. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate semifreddo which had chocolate mousse, cold brew gelato, white chocolate crema, and chocolate hazelnut crumble. Christopher brought it out with lighted candle and surprised me with a complimentary olive oil cake. Both were delectable and simply perfection. If I were at home, I probably would have licked the plates. Towards the end of dinner, Christopher didn't come to check on us as frequently, but I appreciated his thoughtfulness with the complimentary cake and his knowledge of the menu. I enjoyed the food, ambiance, and special gestures the restaurant made to celebrate my birthday.

I love coming to tagliata for any occasion and a valentines lunch was a great opportunity. The menu was pre fixe and was 65$/person. Cocktails were extra as well as a black truffle upcharge if we wanted it. I ordered the steak tartare and squid ink pasta along with the crema. Everything was delish but the standout was the steak tartare. The service was great with everything coming out on time. Will be back!

Good food and good service in a modern, comfortable space. I wish we didn't get stuck at a table in the corner of the dining room, though. One issue, however...our server told us that the we could order multiple piccolo (half) sized pasta dishes and it would "be like a pasta tasting." When the piccolo (half) sized pastas came out, they were the size of regular pasta entrees (to us), so we ended up with a bunch of take-home boxes at the end of our meal. Not mad at him, but I probably would've ordered one less pasta dish, knowing what I know now. I wonder what the full orders look like. And finally...a restaurant that knows how to make a decent risotto, which should spread across the plate like a sauce. Although, the rice grains might've been ever-so-slightly too al dente. Burrata Salad: 5/5 Tuscan Fried Chicken: 5/5 Squid Ink Campanelle: 4/5 (too al dente?) Squash Risotto: 4/5 Mushroom Lasagne Special: 3/5 (a little dry) Olive Oil Cake: 3/5 (have had better) Overall, a good experience, but maybe it bit pricey for the pasta and rice dishes. But I would consider going back.

A simple, sweet 10/10 for the amazing food and pristine service. Food Burrata - 8.5/10 The burrata was brimmed with fresh fall-season fruits and veggies -- loved the mix of sweet candied walnuts, crisp apples, and slightly salty prosciutto. A perfect opener. Squid Ink Campanelle - 10+/10 My friend had told me multiple times how good this was, but it still exceeded my expectations. The chewy handmade pasta, the rich texture from the breadcrumbs, and the lush crab meat -- absolutely the MVP of the table. Lobster Ravioli - 8/10 Rich and flavorful filling! Delicious -- no complaints. Cowboy Ribeye - 9.5/10 Perfectly grilled with that prime, meaty flavor. Deeply satisfying, and the portion size is huge. Service - 10/10 We always felt attended to -- drinks were refilled promptly, and plates and utensils were replaced frequently. The server was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and explained each menu item beautifully. Totally enjoyed the experience. Ambience A lovely, elegant space. All I can say is that it felt romantic and special to spend a night here -- whether with my best friend, a date, or other ones that are dear to me.

Excellent Italian style food that is over the top delicious. It's a noisy place full of happy people, often celebrating life as we know it. Reservations may be recommended especially at prime dinner hours. But at 9 PM on at Thursday night we were seated right away within a fairly full restaurant. Lots of options on the menu and it can be hard to decide what to get. We had the roasted squash salad to start and it was beautiful. The Squid Ink Campanelle was a treat for us west coast visitors. We don't have blue crab options at home and it's nice when someone else has picked the crab for you. The Grande size was more than plenty for two people but we managed to stuff our gizzards with it. A side of Broccolini was Devine. Nice and crisp and super tasty...I gotta get the recipe for that dish! Valet parking like everything in downtown. But we walked over from our hotel at the Hyatt Place.

Went out to the Christmas Village and the food options there just didn't sound appetizing enough, so we decided to try Tagliata because who wouldn't want cozy Italian on a cold night? Upon entrance, it looked like the hostesses and potentially a manager were having a meeting because absolutely noone greeted us till I said "hello?". Since we didn't have a reservation, we were told they'll check for availability. However, instead of checking, they went back to talking amongst themselves. Then minutes later, told us to sit at the bar. So I waited about 6 minutes for her to tell me what she could've said to begin with. But I digress! It took a second to get someone's attention at the bar, but once we did, the staff we dealt with were pretty friendly and attentive. I ordered the risotto and my friend just got pasta with crab meat (due to dietary restrictions). For dessert, I had the bomboloni. The food was alright, but nothing spectacular. Not even the dessert, unfortunately the ricotta doughnuts were not as soft as I've had them elsewhere. Considering the service at the hostess stand, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again but I wouldn't write them off completely either.

We liked a few of the wines and ended up purchasing a bottle of Honor Cava Brut Rosato for $32.99. Solid choice. Nothing mind-blowing, but enjoyable and fairly priced for the setting. The space itself felt calm and cozy, especially with the fireplace and wine displays, but at the time we were there it didn't have a ton of energy or buzz. To be fair, it was early in the day, so I can absolutely see this place feeling very different in the evening or on a weekend when the patio and waterfront vibe are in full swing. The bartenders seemed overwhelmed, so it took a while for us to get waters and place our drink orders. We had already eaten, so we didn't try any of the snacks. They do offer a solid selection of cocktails, wines, and beers, which is a plus. One thing I noticed was that the space didn't feel very clean--though I'm not sure if it was the ambiance or the lighting. The lights were extremely bright, which took away from the overall vibe. I think the atmosphere would feel much better if the lighting were dimmed to create a cozier, more relaxed setting. Overall, I'm not dying to come back, but I'd be open to returning to try some of their snacks.

We were seated at a table that overlooked the court and a digital screen that flashed beautiful photos of Italy's top tourist spots. My kids were thrilled when they saw Venice, since they just learned about it in school. After ordering food, I took the kids to the bocce court while my partner could enjoy the wine and watch us from above. I know he appreciated having the break and a good glass of wine to go with it. Service was friendly and the food was fantastic. We ordered several dishes including several types of pasta, meatballs, cheesy bread and a caesar salad. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and a great vibe overall. I already have a reservation when we pass through Baltimore again in a few weeks.

Service is out standing, the food is flavor art, the location is tight but has great character, and I would come back in a heart beat!

My fiance wanted a particular French mushroom dish and this restaurant happened to have it. Add to it the Noir French Jazz vibes and it makes for one heck of a date. The service was quick and courteous. The show girls were a ton of fun and the band was talented. My fiancée was surprised and very happy with the whole experience. My girl quite hilariously said that the bread was tragically authentic, LOL! She's not wrong, it was pretty hard but it was also very good. The duck confit and savory crépe I would have loved it if they made that into an entree because I'd have eaten a whole plate of it. It was delicious! The short rib bourguignon was super tender, very delicious but the serving size is pretty small. I was surprised I ended up feeling full at the end but it's probably cuz I ate plenty of the bread and drinking and all that good stuff. The wild mushroom dish was very flavorful but my girl wasn't quite as fond of the puff pastry acting as the bowl. Outside of that we both loved it. It's not a cheap date, but it is a good date. I'm glad we went! This is definitely a place I feel comfortable recommending if you're looking for a little more high-end night out.

My husband and I had dinner at Monarque for the first time last Friday…read more Monarque is Atlas's French restaurant, located at the end of Atlas Quarter on Fleet Street (you pass Italian Disco, Tagliata, and the Elk Room, and walk straight to the end of the alley). Their menu might be classic French, but none of the entrees spoke to me. It was a warm late spring/almost summer night, and I found their menu to be heavy and not very seasonal. I wanted something lighter, something more spring. Since the entrees weren't calling to us, we stuck to the small plates/hors d'oeuvres section of the menu and shared: Potato & Leek Soup (butter croutons and garlic chive oil); Salad Lyonnaise (soft boiled egg, bacon lardons, endive, frisee, and radishes); tableside beef tartare (verjus mustard, capers, tomato, truffle); short rib pappardelle (truffled egg yolk, red onion, Parmesan, and short rib ragu); and Iberico Secreto (apple butter, macerated cranberries, hazelnuts, and microsage). Of these, I'd say we enjoyed the soup and the iberico the best. The beef tartare wasn't cut/diced or mixed very well despite the very fun tableside preparation. The pasta had a truffle oil pungency that isn't for us, so I wouldn't order that dish again, but otherwise the food was pretty good. I do think there is better French food in Baltimore, but Monarque offers something special. The service is great. The wine and cocktails are great. The decor is cool. But best of all? Thursday-Sunday, Monarque hosts Monarque After Dark. Burlesque, cabaret, live jazz music... At Monarque, it's dinner with a show. The performers we saw were great. Monarque After Dark made our night. If the food didn't blow me away, the experience still did. FYI the music is quite loud, so I wouldn't recommend dinner at Monarque if you prefer a quieter dinner! We had a great time at Monarque. I'd certainly return - next time for some drinks, oysters, and shrimp cocktails and the show!

We order the turkey club, hush puppies, cream of crab soup, the charcuterie board, fries, and fried oysters to share. The turkey club was the star of the show. I would say you can skip the fries, the seasoning was great the batch of fries we had seemed like they might not have been fresh. The rest of the menu was so good I would still say you could skip the fries and order a double serving of hush puppies.

We immediately asked the hostess for a different table. She told as that the three booths and the six other two-tops were all reserved. She left us with no attempt at an apology and promptly put reserved signs on all the open tables. When we left an hour later, one booth and 4 two-tops had never been used. Much to our dismay, we saw people seated outside even though we had received a text before arriving saying the patio was closed for the evening. To add insult to injury, even half empty, the noise level was so uncomfortable since everything was tile, marble, or wood that the alarm sensor on my smart watch sounded because of the decibel level. We will not be back.
