Very friendly staff and amazing food. Taco cabana is a great choice for inexpensive and delicious Mexican.

The flour tortillas are smack your mama good. So fresh, so warm and oh so mouth watering. I really like the whole concept. The salsa bar is fun and the atmosphere is nice. They started a new menu item called street tacos and they taste just like the little tacos you get in Mexico. They are corn tortillas with steak, cilantro and ceboya. I wish they put a TC in Grapevine, the drive to Irving is sometimes annoying but you can't fault the restaurant for being geographically undesirable. read more

Stopped by for a quick snack around 2:15pm. I never stop here because the drive thru line is always long and I've been told that it's not worth the wait. I decided to walk in and order to go, faster right! WRONG! There were several people there waiting. I knew it was going to be a bad decision. The staff wasn't very attentive. They just look tired and seem not to thrilled to be there. I ordered a ONE taco. A single taco. As I was waiting I noticed that the floor was dirty and food was scattered in random places. Went here again after a year & as expected, nothing has changed. If anything, it's worse. Dining area of restaurant is filthy - dirty floors, spills all over the salsa area with rotten looking pico & a drink station with trash everywhere and a dirty drinking & ice dispenser. Made me almost not want to get a drink it was so gross in that area. The corners leading to the bathrooms had cobwebs as if they hadn't been cleaned since the restaurant opened. The tortillas are very small for the price & food takes forever to come out like the staff is incapable of handling more than 1 order at a time. Food itself is just average...portion size is not good relative to price and quality. I guess I'll be waiting another year before I'm dumb enough to go back here thinking something has changed. They need to just close this down permanently. read more

I thought I would compare this place with Taco Bell and Taco Bueno. We came around 9 pm on a Thursday. The person on the microphone for the drive through mumbled the whole time. She was the most unenthusiastic employee. When we drove up to the window, Her co-worker then took almost 10 minutes for a quesadilla, taco, and burrito. We came home and the food was terrible. I have been to other Taco Cabanas and this one is subpar. I think Corporate needs to get this place back into shape. This could be such a great location in this Corporate Park. read more

Went there today to get breakfast tacos. When we go to order they tell us they stopped serving breakfast at 1 and it was 1:05. The problem with this is on their website and on the menu board it says breakfast tacos served all day. If this is not the case then it needs to be removed as this is false advertising. I came in to pick up some taco boxes for work, and I am really wishing I had not. This is the most unacceptably-slow fast food joint I have ever seen. The kitchen moves at a snail's pace and we can watch them so we see how absolutely nonchalant and disconnected they are. The restaurant is full of people waiting to get their food and I'm just now seeing the first person in about 20 minutes receive anything from the kitchen. I spoke with her earlier and her work had ordered 5 taco boxes 2 hours ago but the orders somehow never made it from the website to the store. Listening to the employees talk it sounds like there was a second order that had been magically lost for someone as well. There is not normally tipping in fast food, but in this case I have a major tip -- Potential Customers: STAY AWAY. Update: the time on my receipt is 9:02. It was after 10pm on a weekday and I was driving out near the airport and really hungry. Lo and behold, I noticed over my dashboard a Taco Cabana right off the highway and approaching quick. Food! I turned off and made the exit. I knew this place is open late, so I should be able to get in and out quickly. I had never tried Taco Cabana, all I heard from reputation is the food is just OK but a step up from the lowest common denominator: Taco Bell. Walking in I observe a few things right off the bat: Teenagers running the store: No adult supervision means a lot of laughter heard from behind doors and in the bowels of the kitchen, unseen. Clueless customers: Some lady was standing at the counter wanting to order something, but had no idea what she wanted. She was reading the menu, mouthing the words as she read, while a teenager taking her order was texting something on her phone. The fixings bar? I think that's what that was, but salsa, iceberg pieces, thin strips of food grade cheddar, and the worst looking pico was all mixed together as if a frenzied pack of chipmunks tore through the bar hours ago. Even though I was there by myself, about five other single men were eating in the dining area by themselves. No couples or families, just a bunch of single older men eating alone in the dining room, late on a weeknight off the freeway by the airport. An overwhelmingly depressing feeling washed over me. But still, I was starving and I was there. As a vegetarian, my options were limited to pretty much just the cheese enchiladas or the cheese nachos. I chose the enchiladas. After I was able to get my order in, it took about 15 minutes for the food to come out in little boxes. I ordered to go, but decided I might as well sit in the singles-night dining hall and get it over with. The cheese looked like melted plastic over the lousiest corn tortilla I've seen. The mexican rice was blown-up from overcooking, and had more of a texture than a flavor to it. After one bite I considered tossing the whole mess out. After two bites I did. Leaving, I looked back at the expressionless single men eating their various Cabana dinners, a thought came over me; I needed to make sure that no matter what, I never end up in this clueless sorry lot of dining depression called Taco Cabana ever again. Usually I associate taco c with being under the influence of alcohol (taste never matters at that point) and desperately hungry (one of the few places open late) so you can imagine my surprise when I had a sudden sober craving for this place and had an excellent 9pm meal here yesterday!! We ordered bean and cheese nachos and a combo that included the softest and freshest tortillas and steaming hot Mexican rice and beans. The pico was very fresh as well. I stopped in today for a quick lunch since all the reviews about sweet tomatoes down the street drove me away. I decided to try the Shrimp Tampico enchiladas with rice and beans. I must say there wasn't a large amount of shrimp in the enchiladas. I know they are offering various seafood meals because of Lent but if your going to do that then don't go entirely cheap on what your offering. The shrimp enchiladas where a corn tortilla wrapped around three to four very tiny miniature sized shrimp. The enchiladas also had about two hole tomatoes diced to fill the tortilla. I also ordered a side of guacamole and that was also very disappointing. I was really looking forward to a better experience there but hey I guess next time will be the cheese enchiladas they can't mess that up can they? I will say the restaurant was very clean and they staff looked to be on top of at least that. I don't think I will be back for quite some time the food was just ehh. I'm not a big fan of this place but my work constantly gets the breakfast burritos which after some time of me trying the various options I have moved from complete dislike to tolerable acceptance. I wouldn't come here on my own accord for the most part though. This particular time I ordered a dozen breakfast burritos for my team on one week that we didn't have it office wide and it was not the best experience I've had by far. I ordered days in advance my mixed dozen breakfast burritos. When I went to pick it up in the morning I stood by the designated order pick up area and the cashier made me wait in the general line. Why have two separate lines if you're going to make everyone stand in one? Why offer online ordering if it doesn't offer any extra convenience? The point of ordering ahead is so you can get in and out with your order quickly right?! Also what peeves me incredibly much is when people can't properly do simple things that are literally in front of their eyes. In this case misspelling names. I physically type my name into an order which people at the establishment read and still misspelled it, what's the deal? I don't understand at all. Drove thru for dinner and was told they were out of refried beans, and it was still pretty early into dinner time. Sounds like bad prep or planning. The young lady behind the register was nice but clueless. Decided to pick up dinner somewhere else and just get an order of sopapillas to go. I was told to pull around and park, where I waited over 15 minutes for my tiny order. It seems the staff have no urgency or care at this location and are badly managed. The worst food I've eaten since moving to Texas. If I could give it less than one star I would. I don't review fast food restaurants, but this place seems to think they are better than traditional fast food. They're not. Every table was dirty, the restaurant was full of some of the most ghetto people I've seen, and the employees looked dumpy, un-showered, and generally just pissed off at the world. The meat in my chicken "fajitas" tasted like it had been brining over night in salt water, but was otherwise void of an flavor what so ever. I heart taco cabana, but not this one.... not this one at all, ever. Ive been here a few times... late at nite. (Maybe you have to go in the daytime to get the good employees) Anywho - the first time I went, I tried to order, but I think they were in the back playin angry birds or something. Someone on a break had to go tell them someone was interested in getting food. I ordered. They went back to angry birds. A little time went by and I asked about my food - I got a "my bad" in spanish, and it came out soon there after. The second time, the food just was not good. Sooo salty and untastey... Food is prepared fairly fresh to order. Great deals often in their app. I recommend anything with their steak. The fire roasted salsa changed recently and is not as flavorful as it was before, but the many other salsas make up for it. If you want quick Tex mex this is the place to go! read more

I had to select a 1 start for this review but trust me.... NEGATIVE STAR RATING is needed. This is the 4th time they give me an incorrect order. Each time I order something, they repeat it back to me correctly. Once I look inside the bag it's something different. This happens between 8AM and 9AM. Today I called once again and the manager Glen stated "Oh that's too bad but I tell you what.. Tell them next time you spoke to me and we'll have it replaced for you." WELL DEAR MANAGER... I DON'T WANT FREE FOOD. Stop trying to cover up the mess you have and lack of training at your location. TRAINING is needed NOT FREE FOOD. I find it offensive when the " Leader" assumes an upset customer will be turned with free items. FIX YOUR PROBLEM and get the orders RIGHT!!!! I can't check all the time if its correct as I am on my way to work and in a hurry. if I pay you for a service or goods... make sure its done right! STOP THE LAZINESS. All the salsas on the salsa bar were very good. Nothing super spicy if you're like me and like that but still they all had good flavor. The food was just okay and it took like twenty minutes to get my food. May try a different location after reading some of the other reviews. read more

I went there early March and had a bad experience. It took 25 minutes to get 5 breakfast tacos. After we left we found out the order was wrong. I didn't complain. I went back again 3/29 for breakfast tacos. I drove off and realized the order was wrong. I was upset it had happened 2 times in a row so I called to complain (I rarely do this). The manager said she would replace my order and asked to give them another chance. I went for the replacement meal on 3/30. The order wasn't wrong, but the tacos barely had anything inside. Came here for a quick bite after church on Sunday. I thought we'd be out of luck since this is a busy time of the day for restaurants in this area. Upon entering the restaurant I was shocked to see how dirty it was. The floors are not swept, food and trash under almost EVERY table. The tables are not wiped. I had to clean our area just to sit down. There are a total of 9 people (customers) in the restaurant so it is not busy, the employees should be cleaning this place. The manager has been walking around tending to complaints with slow service... there is nobody in here. And they also seem blind to the filth around the place.
