So I'm here as a volunteer for the Winter State Carnival. Don't waste your time at this place. Portions suck, Prices sucks, environment sucks, staff sucks... everything sux. And the drive thru sign was so hard to read through the layer of dirt, smudge and half-ass lightbulbs I practically had to get out of my car to read the durn thing. Why I didn't keep driving is beyond me. Thought maybe all their focus would be on the food I guess. A Dont judge a book by its cover type mentality... NOPE When Mr half-awake headset man gave me my order, he looked at me like I was speaking Portuguese when I commented... "so y'all don't give salsa with ur tacos?... "SALSA"?... he says right b4 my 5 min wait for him to find his way to the back, stand there til he remembers again why he's there, and then bring it to me... ugh *To be honest the food wasn't TOO terrible, so I'll up it to 1.3 stars I guess.

Potato and egg
Naveen R.

My experiences at this location have been very good every time. Whoever is the manager of this place, the message to you is that your employees are so friendly, they totally rock! I've only ever sampled the breakfast tacos because I often venture out to work without having consumed my Cheerios because I like sleep, but also like to venture into the office early and swagger across empty aisles of seats, so it's usually a mad scramble (:-)) out the door sans eggs and toast. The tacos are delicious, affordable and their salsas rock. My favorites I'd recommend - get the STEAK. The steak is so well cooked and toothsome.. no sauce necessary. Other than that, plain egg with potato, or get the ones with bacon or chorizo, if you find them among your choices. I can feed my face for around $5 and meet the work day with vigor! Thank you!

Beyond meat nacho mania - DeSoto location (It's the cheese for me)
Nicole C.

All Nacho Mania's are not created equal, unfortunately. My beyond meat nacho was totally different from the one my mom received at a southwestern Dallas location (DeSoto) and hers looked so much cheasier & better. Another family member got one in Arlington, and theirs also looked much cheasier and more appetizing. Mine wasn't 100% "bad". It could have been worse, but, it was more dry and with a lot of vegetables from the beyond meat mixture. I guess I wasn't sure what to expect, but now that I've seen others I won't be rushing back to this location for Nachos at least. (You'll see why in the pictures - mine is the one with the sour cream) Even if I hadn't seen the others I wouldn't. Months ago I picked up other items to-go including quesadillas & beverages.

It's a Texas thang well it's Tex Mex but I love Taco Cabana they have some of the best Tex Mex in Texas I like them better than Taco Benuo though and the prices are reasonable as well so yeah I'm just loving this Texas food

Slow service. They were clearly short staffed today, but the few associates working had no pep on their steps, as sluggish as they come. The dining room only had a couple of ppl. They just can't keep up with mobile orders and their regular customers. The manager should really evaluate that. It was a bad experience and we weren't told sorry for the delay or we are working to get your order out. We were asked, what number are you...and after responding, they kept fulfilling other orders. The food was surprisingly good. Got beans and cheese tacos. They had chicken on the grill the whole 20 min I was waiting, cooking on one side, nobody attending to it. They also do not have the salsa bar open. So you have to ask for salsa evertime and one lady runs into the back for 2 min to grab 4 cups of the different salsas, 3 of which you don't want. Get it together this Taco Cabana location.

Nasty bean and cheese taco. With no cheese present and burned flaky rotten beans.

We come in weekly- sometimes more than once. Breakfast food is usually good and Curtis at the window is so incredibly friendly. Today however, we came to the drive thru and our food literally looked like it was a week old. It was not edible at all. The bean & egg tacos were literally hardened and flaking like dried glue almost. Bacon in other tacos was burned as well and eggs were almost only visible w a microscope. We have called to get our money refunded and of course no human ever answers.

Black sediment in my drink

Man if I could do no stars food was mid they told me they didn't have straws no biggie as I take my first sip notice something black floating in my drink.....I poor it out and at the bottom of my cup is a black sediment....no clue what it is but disgusting y'all should be ashamed

Chips stale. Was told they are out of guacamole. Salsa bar has several empty containers. Usually like TC, but this is a big disappointment.

The menu leans Mexican fusion, with standout seafood and steak options across the board. One of my personal favorites is their sea bass special with pineapple reduction. It's beautifully balanced sweet, savory, and rich without being heavy and comes with perfectly cooked charred vegetables on the side. The drinks are excellent, especially the margaritas, which definitely lean on the stronger side, fair warning that one drink can feel like two. Save room for dessert too; they offer a solid selection of cakes and sweets that are a great way to close out the meal. Service is attentive and warm, and they also have private group dining rooms available, making it a great option for corporate events or holiday parties. Valet parking is available, but there's also plenty of convenient parking right next to the restaurant. Overall, Via Real is a reliable, elevated dining experience that still feels welcoming and rooted in tradition, a Las Colinas classic for a reason.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Via Real has a dedicated parking lot and valet parking - this is a sign of an upscale restaurant. Inside, it's a beautiful restaurant (currently decorated for Christmas). There's a dedicated bar in the back, the tables are perfectly set, and the vibe exudes an upscale feel. 1 Star. Service - Upon entering, you're greeted with a smiling hostess to assist. Since I was here for an event, they walked me to the appropriate room. Via Real has dedicated rooms for events, and we had a dedicated staff member who made sure we had drinks in hand. All requests were taken care of. They were fast, accommodating, and professional. 1 Star. Food - Via Real specializes in Southwestern cuisine. It's not Mexican or Tex-Mex, but if you're fans of that cuisine, you'll find familiar flavors. My events had several items, but my favorite were the individual nachos. Instead of a shared platter, a single (large) tortilla chip is topped with chicken or beef and oven-melted cheese. It felt more like bite-sized appetizers than traditional nachos. At the bar, I enjoyed a decaf cappuccino and creamy caramel flan. You can eat at the bar, but there are also tables you can sit at. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Via Real is in my neighborhood and has been in Irving-Las Colinas as long as I can remember (mid 90's). If you are ever in the area, make sure you stop by. 1 Star.

Lol But I also want to support this small restaurant and brag about literally how delicious everything is. From the empanadas that are cheesy and meaty you could eat as a meal alone, to all the flavors of each sauce they offer is exceptional. The poblano sauce is so good, I'd like to get a job in the kitchen for the recipe. We also asked for a side of the mole sauce just to try, it was smoky, sweet, and the right amount of spices. The tacos remind me of the tacos I get in Mexico with the grilled pineapple and picked onions. The salsa offered with the chips is warm and I love that. Will definitely be a go to restaurant for me. I forgot to snap a picture but I'll list some things I tried: Empanadas- 10/10- a must order. Flavor, texture, and taste are all amazing. Molé enchiladas- the molé is so good- especially for Dallas since most places are Tex Mex and molé is more Mexican. Definitely order if this is in your "taste profile." Lunch specials- I don't even know if this is on their website but they have a great lunch menu and they have a lunch combo special where you can pick two items for $10.50 and it comes with rice and beans. I ordered the cheese enchilada and the mini chimichanga. Full disclosure I didn't eat the mini chimichanga because I didn't know it was covered in queso and I hate queso (unpopular opinion- I know). I loved the enchilada though and it had chili con carne sauce which was delicious. Rice and beans were also very good. Next time I'll just say no queso on the chimi. The restaurant is really tiny but cozy and you can tell it is family owned. Definitely will be a regular spot for me and will be back.

On our way back from Asia, my husband and I had a stop through the DFW area and immediately decided…read morethat we needed to take advantage of being back near a region that really knows Mexican food. Living in Sioux Falls has many positives, but distinct and deeply flavorful Mexican cuisine is unfortunately still something that's a little harder to come by compared to places like Arizona or Texas. So, we made it a point to stop at Lupe Tortilla while passing through Irving. The first thing we noticed was how packed the restaurant was during lunch. People were pouring in steadily, and the atmosphere had that energetic local favorite feeling where you know people come because they genuinely enjoy the food. Thankfully, the meal itself delivered. Now, was it the absolute best Mexican food I've ever had? No. But it was still leagues beyond most of what we've experienced lately back home in South Dakota. The carne asada especially stood out. The portion was massive, tender, and packed with smoky, savory flavor. You could immediately tell it had actually spent some time on a grill instead of simply being rushed out of a kitchen. We also enjoyed the tacos, enchiladas, and burritos, all of which had that comforting Tex-Mex richness and seasoning that we've really missed. Unfortunately, we were on a fairly tight travel schedule and couldn't linger the way we would have liked. Honestly, this felt like the sort of place where you could easily sit awhile longer, enjoy another drink, sample more dishes, and just soak in the lively atmosphere. Still, even as a quick stop, it was a great experience and a delicious reminder of how much we miss the bold Mexican food culture of the Southwest.

I finished one taco, but for the second I only ate the lobster since I didn't want to waste it, especially considering the $30+ price point. My husband ordered the carne asada steak Lupe and said it was fine, though he's definitely had better. On a more positive note, the chili con queso was good, and the frozen strawberry margarita was both tasty and generously sized. Service was friendly, but we were given multiple chip refills without being asked, while the salsa and beans that come with them were never replenished, which felt a bit unbalanced. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere and was on the louder side, which made it a little difficult at times to hear our server. My Apple Watch even gave me a loud-environment alert, so it might be something to keep in mind if you prefer a quieter dining experience.
