So I'm here as a volunteer for the Winter State Carnival. Don't waste your time at this place. Portions suck, Prices sucks, environment sucks, staff sucks... everything sux. My experiences at this location have been very good every time. Whoever is the manager of this place, the message to you is that your employees are so friendly, they totally rock! I've only ever sampled the breakfast tacos because I often venture out to work without having consumed my Cheerios because I like sleep, but also like to venture into the office early and swagger across empty aisles of seats, so it's usually a mad scramble (:-)) out the door sans eggs and toast. The tacos are delicious, affordable and their salsas rock. My favorites I'd recommend - get the STEAK. The steak is so well cooked and toothsome.. no sauce necessary. Other than that, plain egg with potato, or get the ones with bacon or chorizo, if you find them among your choices. I can feed my face for around $5 and meet the work day with vigor! I come here a few times a month because it's on my way to pick up the kids from gymnastics. Mostly order through the drive thru but if I have time to spare I like to eat inside and unwind a bit. I like the food even if the presentation is not great but the last time I stepped inside, the cashier was as rude as a cashier can be. He must have been 17 or 18 and very clearly wanted to be anywhere but at his job. No "Hi", no "What would you like?", no "Can I take your order", nothing. He just stared at me from behind the register. I asked for the chicken flautas combo and he snarled, "that don't come as a combo". OK, give me the chicken flautas and guacamole, and a drink, please. He slammed the keyboard and didn't say anything else. I paid and sat down. Few minutes later he comes to my table and slams my food. I got queso instead of the guacamole. He was so hostile I didn't feel comfortable asking for the guacamole. I'd much rather have the Mexican ladies that don't speak much English. At least they smile and are polite. All Nacho Mania's are not created equal, unfortunately. My beyond meat nacho was totally different from the one my mom received at a southwestern Dallas location (DeSoto) and hers looked so much cheasier & better. Another family member got one in Arlington, and theirs also looked much cheasier and more appetizing. Mine wasn't 100% "bad". It could have been worse, but, it was more dry and with a lot of vegetables from the beyond meat mixture. I guess I wasn't sure what to expect, but now that I've seen others I won't be rushing back to this location for Nachos at least. Slow service. They were clearly short staffed today, but the few associates working had no pep on their steps, as sluggish as they come. The dining room only had a couple of ppl. They just can't keep up with mobile orders and their regular customers. The manager should really evaluate that. It was a bad experience and we weren't told sorry for the delay or we are working to get your order out. We were asked, what number are you...and after responding, they kept fulfilling other orders. The food was surprisingly good. Got beans and cheese tacos. They had chicken on the grill the whole 20 min I was waiting, cooking on one side, nobody attending to it. They also do not have the salsa bar open. So you have to ask for salsa evertime and one lady runs into the back for 2 min to grab 4 cups of the different salsas, 3 of which you don't want. Today however, we came to the drive thru and our food literally looked like it was a week old. It was not edible at all. This location is the pits!!! First let me start out by saying that the service is awful and second the food is worse! We ordered nachos and they looked like a hot mess. We also had the chicken flautas and they came dripping in grease. When we first arrived there was no one at the register so we kept saying hello to get anybody's attention in the back! I LOVE Taco Cabana. I could eat it every day. That being said, this particular location just needs to close its doors. The people that work here have zero ambition, drive, passion, care for the company or its quality standards. In the past two years that I have tried to give this particular location a chance, I have only been disappointed EVERY SINGLE TIME that I have gone there. Most of the time we drive to the Lewisville even though Irving is closer, just so that we don't have to deal with the headache of this store. Here are just a FEW examples of our experience with the Irving Taco Cabana: They let the tortilla pucks sit out in the open air so long before they send them through the tortilla machine that they formed a skin on them that was later COOKED AND SERVED to customers. Once I ordered a burrito and received a bowl. When the guy asked me if I wanted him to remake it, I said yes, he proceeds to put the tortilla on the grill that someone cooked chicken on, thus getting orange colored chicken oil all over the outside of my burrito. The worst part of it is that you know he had to wrap that burrito. He knew all of that was on the outside and he STILL served it. Another time my kids had to wait 15 mins for their pancakes because "they have to cook for five mins"....what about the other 10 mins?!!! AND they were burned?! I could go on but it would he exhausting. Just save yourself the trouble and go to Lewisville. read more

This taco cabana did not give us a pleasant experience, I ordered inside, customer service was un friendly. I asked for cheese on my burrito and did not get any cheese. When I went to go ask for just a little side of cheese they couldn't provide a side of shredded cheese for two tiny tacos which I told them I wanted some when I placed my order. I then went to go get hot sauce at the hot sauce table and all the hot sauces were completely frozen. And when I went to eat my fajita tacos they tasted like it was a week old. Went here with a friend for lunch on Friday and I was not impressed by the service at first. I arrived and let the gentleman behind the counter know that I had a coupon for a free chicken or steak fajita taco on my phone. At first he told me that he did not need the coupon for me to get the taco for free. So, he rang up my order and my total was way over what it was supposed to be. He noticied this and tried to fix it. He then asked me for my coupon and proceeded to re ring my order. However, instead of ringing up my chicken fajita taco plate he just rang up two tacos. So, they were able to fix my order in the back and add the beans, guacamole, cheese, and lettuce. He ended up ringing up my taco separately and when I received my plate instead of three chicken tacos I got two steak ones. I brought this to the attention of the staff and they said that they would bring me my new tacos ASAP. However, this did not happen until almost two hours later. And it only happened because my friend and ended up sitting outside on the patio catching up. I later found out from the awesome store manager that most of the staff was new and that was to account for the issues I had at the register and the time it took for them to bring me my new order. He refunded my money and we ended up using that to buy two of their awesome margaritas. They have happy hour everyday from 4pm to 7pm and their 12 oz margaritas are only $3--normally $5.75. Their margaritas are fresh and strong--you really only need one! The food was just okay. By the time I received my new tacos all of my food was cold or half eaten. They do have an amazing salsa bar, but the onions were frozen some of the items were not full. Also, there were tortillas and other items all over the floor--particularly in the kitchen. I had a great experience at this Cabana. I ordered the applewood brisket tacos with peppers and onions and I was floored by how tasty the meat was! The dining area was neat and clean and my service was good. I did have to tell the cashier that the music in the restroom was on 100db but they went to correct it right away. The flour tortillas are smack your mama good. So fresh, so warm and oh so mouth watering. I really like the whole concept. The salsa bar is fun and the atmosphere is nice. They started a new menu item called street tacos and they taste just like the little tacos you get in Mexico. They are corn tortillas with steak, cilantro and ceboya. I wish they put a TC in Grapevine, the drive to Irving is sometimes annoying but you can't fault the restaurant for being geographically undesirable. read more
