This is a cool large location with lots of tables and different ways to order. The staff was helpful when we ordered from the monitors and drink cups and forks and knives are easy to find. The food was wonderful. My chips and queso were perfect. The queso was the right amount of spicy. The taco was great with the green salsa and the tortilla is always good. Eating at Torchy's is easy. Decided to try the "Hooky Hour" after having been at numerous Torchy's locations over the years. The half-priced drinks (any!) is a great deal. I tried both the "Top Shelf Patron" and the "Keepin' it 100" (proof). While their margarita mix in the top shelf was better than most, it was still too sweet for my liking. The "Keepin' it 100", having just triple sec, agave and lime juice along with the decent quality blanco tequila made me enjoy it better than their top shelf. AND it was cheaper. Win / win! I was told it is their "skinny margarita", but with more calories (and ABV) than most others on their menu, I wasn't sure how--I assume the agave? It certainly was not lacking in taste. The "Hooky Hour" food options--green chile pork taquitos, diablo chicken bites, and three street tacos--at $6 each were all very good. Not quite as unique as some of their regular taco options, but tasty enough! Service at the bar by David was efficient and friendly without being annoying. Ambiance is fine. I was glad on this visit to see that they changed what I was told on previous visits was "company policy" and it was no longer FREEZING COLD inside the place! It's so hot and here's a cool little thing you can do if you order the chips and queso once the chips come out take the queso and throw them all over top of the chips and it makes for a nacho spread super good! great experience at this torchy's location! ordered my usual brushfire and queso and it was immaculate. looked super new on the inside with great decor and clean seating. the restaurant separates the main eating area and the bar a bit, and overall i found the layout and ambiance to be really cool. one of the stand out things at this location were the ordering kiosks, you can order with the staff or use a kiosk, really cool! food was excellent as usual, although i do think i got a touch less chicken in my brushfire that evening, but it varies, so no worries. 10/10 read more

Firstly, Id rate my experience was very poor. Lets be honest. Nowadays, most people have not been taught how to cook, do not truly know how to discern ingredients and quality, and eat out the majority of the time. So, therefore they are describing food as being "good" when their diets consist of entirely fairly poor food quality overall. For what was received from Torchy's, I thought it was poor quality (my wife was taking gristly stringy beef that was unchewable out of her mouth) and baja tacos contained little ingredients and a few small undercooked shrimp. Take it from someone who knows how to cook, save your money and go across the street to Taco Bueno or something. Torchy's is not worth the money by far. read more

Not sure why this Torchy's rating isn't higher. Been to a lot of Torchys, 4 of them on a regular basis. I would rank this location as; tied for first place among all the ones I've been to. They have a nice atmosphere, and a great bar area with TVs. Their food is very consistent and the quality is very high! Other than sometimes having to wait in a long line, because they're so popular! The service (all in all) has been very good... certainly compared to anybody else in this type of business! Their queso is the best I've had, as compared to anyone else's! Chips are always fresh and crisp, and refills are free. They have a variety of sauces, if you like hot, the Diablo is amazing! In case you don't know, it's basically a taco truck converted into a storefront/style. I highly recommend the entire chain, in particular this location. It's never a question of if I'll be back. First time here and it didnt disappoint as the Fajita Plate was well enough for a couple to share. Unless your like myself d want to eat the whole plate. The service was fast in regards of ordering and receiving the food. There is a bar on the otherside and it was full, however the whiskey list isn't much. This is specific to this location only and is focused on the customer service of one employee. I ordered food with the cashier who was great, I got the food which is ALWAYS great but then I asked for two pico de gallos and two other salsas from the person who brings the food who I believe is the manager. She returns with 1 pico de gallo and the other 2 salsas. She then proceeds to tell me pico is considered a garnish and next time I would have to be charged and they have had this conversation with me before. I then say I contacted customer service about this and then I say "Can I show you?" twice as she walks away from me and says "No". For reference I wanted to show her an email where I ask specifically about how many pico de gallo (AKA - Salsa Fresca) and salsas I can have and the response from Torchy's customer is as many as I request but I typically only ask for two salsa per item. See their response verbatim below: "A Damn Good guest experience is important to us, and we know how delicious these sauces are to pair with your tacos." Based on this email chain I thought I was asking for something reasonable. This experience ruin my appetite and if I was not with my children I would have left. I don't have this issue at any other Torchy's I go to but this one occasionally gives me issues and I have trepidation coming here every time since to don't know what I will encounter. If I didn't live in Irving I would not go to this location. In summary... A friend suggested we try this place and finally got around to it for lunch recently. They have a variety of tacos and you can order any combo or amount to satisfy your hunger. I went with the Tipsy Chick which was a good portioned taco with the grilled chicken and other items. The bacon bourbon marmalade was an interesting twist but it was delicious. My second taco was the Green Chile Pork. While I didn't feel like this one was as generous in portion, the flavor of the port was great and the tomatillo sauce was amazing. My husband also had the Green Chile Pork taco and said it was his favorite. He also had the Trailer Park which features fried chicken and the Brush FIre with Jamaican Jerk Chicken. You order your food at the counter when you first come in. The staff was helpful when we shared it was our first visit and helped us navigate how things operate. You can grab any seat you'd like and they bring the food out to you when ready. They also had a full bar which was impressive but we didn't partake this go around. (Their happy hour offerings sound interesting). Only reason why we didn't do 5 stars was the cost was a bit on the higher end for the portion of food. We have been going to this Torchy's for years and they have always had incredible service. Ever since they installed the DYI order stations at the front, they are neglecting to put someone at the front to help take orders. I had to go search for someone tonight. Those machines are miserable to use and if you have gift cards, forget it. If the front staff service doesn't improve at this location, I will stop going when my gift card is drained. read more

I love Torchy's, especially the queso! This review is for the queso, Republican, Trailer Park, Mofaux, and Piledriver (July 2023 taco of the month). Food: Queso is always solid! Can never go wrong and so good! Mofaux is tasty and you can't tell it's vegan; it also tastes similar to the "Impossible Taco salad" from Mendocino Farms. Trailer Park was ok! It's a basic taco unless you "make it trashy" and add queso. Republican is decent but I prefer the Democrat taco. Finally the Piledriver July 2023 taco was good, but now we're in August so my review of it would be obsolete. Service and ambiance: Service is always good at this location! To be honest, I didn't even know what type of food they served but I was inclined to stop by solely because of their mascot! To my surprise, it was a taco joint! Looking over their menu, they have a good variety of inventive tacos and honestly it was hard to pick just a couple to try out! Came here after dropping someone off at the airport and was glad I made the trip. The dining area is by far the best Torchy's I've been in! Their indoor dining area is large and spread out. Their bar area feels like a legitimate bar and has plenty of TV's if sports are your thing. The bar stools are cushioned as well, which is something I haven't seen at a Torchy's till now. The outdoor eating area isn't crazy, but is nice and compliments the restaurant well. The staff on top of everything was great and very helpful all around! My real only regret is I couldn't stay longer.. Overall, 10/10, definitely recommend this Torchy's if you're in the North Irving area! read more

I don't like avocado so I requested the poblano sauce for my Mr. Orange, instead. Well, it was so yummy and juicy already, that I did not need the sauce! Both tacos were really good but the Mr. Orange had a lot more flavor. What's your favorite? What else should I try? Service was extremely fast. When I walked in I was the only one here which was really strange but I guess it was a tad early. I liked the styling that they did, the bar was centrally located and has some really fun hexagon tiles, they also carried that over in an accent wall by the order desk. Lots of Sputnik light fixtures. The servers were all extremely friendly and checked on me multiple times. I ordered the taco of the month Mofaux (but some regular fajita meat instead of the faux stuff they had going on) a half order of chips and queso and some street corn.
