    Spicy Chicken
    Edenielle A.

I was referred here by my husband. When you walk in the walkway is cute full of plants. The space inside is also spacious lots of seating. We ordered 3 items, the spicy chicken, house chicken, and wings. My daughter enjoyed the wings and scarfed it down and I had the house chicken. I had the food with their cilantro sauce which was delicious but a lil spicy. The portions are big and I think worth the price you pay for. After eating we had enough to have seconds for later. I definitely recommend!

This is the only food spot that I have an account with and I think that alone explains it. Food & drink: (5/5) This is one of my fav casual spots to eat ever! An extra bonus is that it's super close by to me which I appreciate. I usually rotate between the spicy chicken bowl which is actually decently spicy, and the grilled shrimp bowl which is cooked and seasoned to perfection literally every single time. Not to mention I LOVE their pico and sauce. I'm not sure of everything that goes into them but they are genuinely so addicting. Even their rice is cooked really well- fluffy, hot, almost buttery? I've never had their poke before but my partner and friends tend to get it so I'm sure it's good as well. We tried their chicken wings for the first time during our most recent visit and I'm truly upset that I didn't order this sooner. The outside is crispy yet light, and the inside is SO juicy. Service: (5/5) Everyone here is always incredibly kind. You order at the front counter as you walk in, so interaction is pretty limited to that and them bringing out your food.

Stopped here today for the first time after seeing the many 5 star reviews. I quickly saw those reviews were legit. This is my favorite new place I've been to this year. Smiles on all staff faces and a warm welcome when we entered. It's great to feel happy when you first enter a restaurant It was busy, but our was taken quickly, and our food arrived quickly also. We both got the crispy chicken. It was cooked fresh, juicy, and very good. The pico with the rice was very good also. First time I've heard of this. This is going to be a new food trend for me. We also got a side of kimchi for $4. It was very good as well, and enough for 2 people. At the end of our meal, our server asked if this was our first time in, and if we enjoyed our meal. Seemed like she was sincere in caring about our response. I said a big YES and YES to both questions. I also loved the DJ's on TV playing great music. It created a great vibe. Ta Joia will be a must stop for me anytime I am passing through the Canyon Park area! Congratulations the owner and staff for making this a fun, inviting spot with excellent food!

Second time here. Teriyaki with little magic, food is fresh made and delicious. Little touches like option to add rice cakes to your meat, enjoyed the mix of South American and Japanese flavors, very unique. Team is so friendly, my daughter loved the rice cakes and wanted some more and the cook gave her an extra side of it. Atmosphere is super cute, like the sign says: good things are coming!

    Cheers to this!

In 2024, Ta Joia achieved #28 in Yelp's Top 100 Restaurants in the US, and I've had it bookmarked ever since! Here, you'll find a unique fusion of Korean, Japanese and Brazilian cuisines, specifically "teriyaki with a twist". Although they offer various proteins like pork, beef and shrimp, their chicken is the definite frontrunner, so that's exactly what I came here for! However, I also couldn't leave without trying their Feijoada, which is the national dish of Brazil. All this being said, the Feijoada Bowl was my perfect pick. When we walked up to the counter, one of the employees kindly welcomed us and entered our order. He also pointed out that we could help ourselves to the dispensers of complimentary water and hot tea. The tea had a subtle toasted flavor which was soothing on a chilly day. Around 12:45P, there were two tables left, so we felt lucky to grab a seat. After about 10 minutes, another employee brought out our plates which were all nicely presented. Based on this, I could tell how much care the kitchen poured into the food even before taking my first bite! + FEIJOADA BOWL ($15 + $4.50 for spicy chicken): If you order this as-is, it comes with rice, Feijoada (black bean stew), their pico slaw, fried egg and cilantro sauce. My add-on of spicy chicken was my favorite part of this meal! The tender thigh meat came perfectly grilled (see those char marks!) and marinated in their "triple spice chili sauce" that had a noticeable medium heat. Each piece was juicy and succulent, perfect with the creamy, tangy cilantro sauce that helped quell the spice. The sauce is truly addicting and I savored every last drop. The Feijoada made up half the plate - black beans mixed with slices of sausage, bacon and pork. It wasn't very bold in flavor, but made the meal extra hearty. As a contrast to the rich stew, their pico (crunchy cabbage & ripe tomato in a refreshing dressing) really brightened up the plate. Although it was more acidic than I would have preferred, it complemented every bite. + HOUSE CHICKEN BOWL ($16): This came with at least double the chicken than what I got as an add-on to my Feijoada Bowl, in addition to rice and (our choice of) pico. Note that this doesn't automatically include the cilantro sauce, but the employee kindly gave us a small cup of it at no extra charge when I asked. Since I loved the chicken so much, I'd probably get this bowl next time. As we cleared our table, two of the employees asked how everything was and genuinely thanked us for coming in. At the end of every year, I reflect on my favorite meals, and I already know this is going to be at the top of my list!

I struggle with this review because I really really want to love TaJoia, especially give how wonderful the girl behind the counter was and how much care the staff seem to put into the food and customer engagement. I had the recommended crispy chicken, which is like a chicken katsu, with their house cilantro sauce and pico (onion, cabbage, tomatoes). The good thing is that the chicken was really crispy, and the bad is that it smelled fishy - like a dirty rag (?) It tastes totally ok - the chicken was unseasoned (?) so it's not hiding anything rotten. May be the katsu was fried using the same oil as shrimp? I like the twist on old favorites but I think overall it's just doesn't fit my taste profile... the sauce and the pico are heavily on the vinegar, making it sour and tangy... which is really not my style. I'm sad I didn't love the food, but I think others should give it a try.

Wish I lived closer to this joint bc sheeeeeesh da grindz are always gasssss -- I normally stop by once a month whenever I visit my barber in town. This place never misses! I stay getting the spicy chicken + avo cilantro + pico combo. Trust me family... I don't work for Nike but just do it. Prices + drive are worth it. The owners are hella relatable + the workers are all dope and friendly (your hair is fire big dawg) + most importantly, the food is fire. Not one bad thing to say bout Ta Joia yall. Go check em out.

Delicious! I ordered a special: the spicy chicken teriyaki paired with Brazilian feijoada and white rice, topped with a fried egg. Everything was flavored so nicely, I kept wanting to eat more than I could. I don't think I have ever said this about a restaurant, but even their white rice had this home-cooking taste that was irresistible. The spicy chicken is enrobed in a chili-based marinade that was so good, I didn't add a drop of teriyaki. In retrospect, I missed tasting a key element for this review! I also ordered the vegetable spring rolls and the sweet sesame rice balls--fried fare done right. I ordered takeout through their online interface, which I found straightforward. More importantly, my food, handed to me by cheery staff, was ready on time and piping hot. This spot is located in a sizable strip mall, and their space seems open and inviting for dine-in. When I read another Yelper say they traveled from Seattle just to try Ta Joia and it was worth the drive, I finally gave it a try. It was indeed excellent.

Recently visited my family and it wouldn't be a complete Washington trip without getting some Ta Joia! Glad to indulge in the amazing food this family has to offer. I've missed the amazing flavor of mixing the pico, rice and cilantro sauce soo much. Had to get a little bit of everything this trip including my favorites grilled shrimp, spicy chicken and kalbi. More than happy to feel the warm welcoming atmosphere they've always provided. Thank you Ta Joia for a meal served with love.

    Kalbi, oh so good!

Still the best! So grateful for the regular staple of my Seattle foodie experience. Today I ordered the incredible House Chicken Feijoada, the incredible combo of beans and sausage with egg. Seriously so good!

    Spicy chicken, original teriyaki

Wow, this is the best teriyaki we've had so far! We've been trying a few teriyaki places after moving to Seattle 2 years ago, and this one is by far the best! We got the spicy chicken with salad + pico (I subbed in salad for rice which I appreciate that they let me do) and original teriyaki chicken with pico and rice. We also got a side of cucumber salad. Both chicken dishes were so flavorful with nice charred, juicy chicken. I personally loved the little kick in the spicy version. Salad and pico were very good and refreshing. Ask for a cilantro sauce on the side! You order at the counter and they bring out the food to your table. People were friendly and the vibe is very casual. I just wish I live a bit closer so I can come here more regularly!

Delicious and happy Korean Teriyaki place. Got the spicy pork in gochjang sauce with added fried Korean rice cakes. Very good! No idea why they have this name or why they say Latin Asian bistro. There's nothing Latin on the menu at all, and all the dishes are Korean influenced. Food is delicious nonetheless. They are in the corner of the Bothell 527 Hwy QFC shopping center, a little bit hard to find

I like to search Yelp before a trip to a new city so I can find some interesting to try. Time and time again when I search Bothell, this restaurant showed up. It is a fusion Korean and Brazilian restaurant. The proteins absolutely fascinate me as I'm a huge fan of teriyaki and Korean BBQ. I ordered the combo with the House teriyaki chicken and the Galbi short ribs. All I can say is WOW, the proteins were cooked perfectly and the marinade was delicious. Their teriyaki was more savory than sweet, which is absolutely fine with me. It is served on a huge bed of fluffy white rice. The staff is so friendly. The space is nice as it had indoor and outdoor seating. Please come and create your own adventure.

When we had left just a few minutes shy of 12pm, the restaurant was full and there were a few parties waiting outside. The staff were very attentive and would immediately replenish our radish if we were low. The jjamppong and jjajangmyeon tasted fine, if anything the jjajangmyeon was a little sweet. The fried rice however (without the jjajang sauce) was pretty bland and a bit dry. I don't know if it's intentional because they give the sauce on the side but I'd like to have the rice taste good without the assistance of the sauce. Other than the bland and dry rice, my only other nitpick would be that the jjajangmyeon came out a lot later than the other dishes. Otherwise we paid around $117 (without tip), for five dishes and two appetizers, which I think is pretty good for this area.

You really taste the spice if you ask for it. In long We've been talking about kimchi fried rice for 3 weeks, and finally got an order in. We're trying to cook at home more these days, but we opened the app and we were total suckers for the special. It was just a few bucks off, but when we built the order, it was 2-for-1, so we have an awesome pile of leftovers now. Showed up fast, still plenty hot. Kimchi fried rice Awesome chewy texture, great spicy tart kimchi flavor, savory fried egg on top with extra seasoning just on the egg. We got our 2-for-1 on the rice, and the portion is pretty big, so we will get at least 4 servings out of this. Tofu mushroom soup Ordered 4 stars, and there's actual noticeable kick to it, which not every place does. Excellent flavors. For $25, 2 little cups doesn't seem like much, so if I see that 2-for-1 again I might put it in on the soup instead of the rice. We're trying to think of delivery these days as a rare treat, and this place more than met the mark. We had a dozen other dishes in the cart before we could make up our minds, too. They sat us at a relatively private area since we are here with a toddler that requires a high chair. We ordered the lunch special Kalbitang ($22.99), Bossam set ($23.99), and the spicy chive pancake ($9.99). They provided kids utensil and a plate, which is super helpful even though we didn't ask for it. Our food came after 10-15 min of wait, and there were 10 side dishes (all of them are delicious btw). We also got a side salad and fish cake soup, which might be a lunch special thing? I'm not sure. I'm not a big fan of the salad dressing, but it's complimentary so no complaints there. Everything we ordered was delicious. There were tons of chives in the pancake, and the meat was tender in kalbitang. My toddler also ate a lot of pork, beef, rice, eggs (in kalbitang), and broccoli. The only downside is that there is only one waiter taking care of orders/bills, so it could be a bit slow. However, everyone was friendly to my toddler and a waitress came to check on us in the middle of our meal too. She also smiled at my toddler as well. The only downside is that we asked for tea, but we got water instead. I had to ask again, but that mistake is really minor. I prefer this location over the Lynwood one as that one is always way too busy and super noisy. It's quieter here and the ambiance is better. Overall, we had a good time dining here with our toddler. Steamed eggs came out looking amazing (haven't seen it like this before) but was on the dry side; to each their own but we like it more brothy like Chicken wings were ok not great... the dish I didn't expect much from was the fried rice but it turned out to be the best dish!! Not because it's just "better than the other dishes" but it was truly amazing, it just had a great taste to it! Soup was yummy too and came with clear noodles Proportions are to the smaller size making prices a bit high but banchans were refilled quickly. Recommend because their food had its own special taste/ dishes that you will remeber it by. Was a fun place to eat and staff was friendly!

There were even options for one person in our party who was vegan. The service was good. Everyone was so kind and polite. Will definitely come back and try more items on the menu.

My twin sister and I came here today and had one of the strangest customer service experiences I've…read moreever had. After ordering a beer/soju tower, our server asked for our IDs, which is completely understandable. However, she proceeded to examine them for an uncomfortably long time while repeatedly looking back and forth between my face, my ID, and my sister. She then told me I "don't really look like" my ID photo because my hair is different and even commented that my ID looked more like my sister than me. We're twins! At one point she had both of our IDs side-by-side comparing them while continuing to question things. I finally told her that while I understand validating IDs, the interaction was making me feel like the legitimacy of my ID was being questioned. What made it even more awkward was her repeatedly commenting that the tower we ordered was "a lot of beer," which honestly felt judgmental and unnecessary. We are clearly adults, presented valid IDs, and were simply ordering something from the menu. That said, the actual food was delicious. The BBQ combo we ordered was excellent, the sides were plentiful, and overall the meal itself was really enjoyable. It also seemed like the server realized the interaction had gone poorly because she later brought us complimentary soup and dessert, which we did appreciate. We still tipped well because we understand serving isn't easy and wanted to be fair. But honestly, the initial interaction left such an uncomfortable impression that if I returned and saw the same server again, I'd probably immediately feel uneasy. There's absolutely a professional way to verify IDs without making customers feel scrutinized or subtly accused of fraud.

(Which I'm sorry to say is rare in Korean restaurants!). Now onto the food! They have the best kimchi soondooboo soup! The kalbi and pork belly were excellent. The side dishes were high quality and instantly filled. Our seafood pancake was so yummy and not too doughy like some other places. My mother in law has two things she always wishes for and Korean restaurants never have this - 1) hot tea without having to ask for it and 2) purple rice!! She got both here!! If there is one minor thing we have as a suggestion. The pork belly was a bit thick. I could see why as you don't want too thin of a slice. I wish there was a bit of extra char on it but that's personal preference. Pro tip: go right at opening! The places fills up very quickly. Because they are so efficient, we actually got in and out in one hour. We'll be back!!!! Management if you're reading this, kudos to your stellar staff!
