This restaurant is under new ownership. The original owner, Andy, opened his new restaurant in Marysville called, The Korea House BBQ and Grill. It is our favorite restaurant when we are in the area. The new owners in Bothell is a family who are very nice too. The food is excellent, as is the service and ambiance. My favorite is the Bibim Bap in a hot stone bowl, although everything on the menu is delicious as well. I highly recommend this wonderful Korean restaurant located in Thrashers Corner next to O'Reilly's Auto Parts and The Dollar Store! Mr. and Mrs. Choi are the new owners. We visited Korea House for a late lunch. The decor is simple. We were seated quickly. The service was efficient. Here's what we ordered: Beef Short Rib Stew: The broth was excellent and flavorful. However, the beef itself could have been more tender, as if it needed to be cooked a bit longer. Seafood Pancake: This was a highlight! It was perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining soft on the inside and was packed with seafood. We really loved it. Squid Deopbap: This dish was also fantastic. It came with a great sauce and a generous amount of squid. All mixed together, it was a very rich and satisfying bowl. My family has been coming here for years and even with the owner change, the food and overall vibe of the place has been consistent throughout. My daughter, pictured in my profile pic, got accepted to UW Engineering this Fall and asked to have our full family gathering here in a couple of months. Service can be slower during peak times so take that into consideration. We always loved their banchan (small side dishes) rotation and always order the kalbi, soon doo boo soup, and the hot pot bibimbap. Was craving korean food in North Seattle area and came across this korean place in a mixed Asian community. Expectations were set a bit low walking in but was pleasantly surprised by some great quality food served in a korean restaurant far from some of the korean communities in the PNW. Tofu soup was LA level good and kalbi plate was tender and flavorful. Price seemed abit on high side but felt the quality was good enough to make it worth every dollar. The food was fantastic and came out quickly, and the interior of the restaurant was clean and casual. We were seated immediately and were brought hot tea and silverware/plates. Our waiter came back a while later and took our order, we saw him again when he brought our plates, and then a final time when he dropped off the check. A check-in or two would have been nice, but it did offer us time to have relaxed and uninterrupted conversation. So, it kinda breaks my heart to say this...but things have changed. This time, when ordering Bulgogi...no longer did I get the sliced strips of beef, but instead some mangled looking bits of red meat mixed in with a lot more vegetables; a totally different looking dish from the one I knew and loved. Steve and I paid a visit to Korea House not too long ago and we liked the food we had quite a bit! I got Chicken Katsu and Gyoza Dumplings which very good! Steve got a kind of soup with which he liked pretty well too. The Gyoza and the Katsu was prepared very well and was quite enjoyable! But I started to get full and had some leftovers to take home. Delicious veggies and offer cold noodles on a hot summer day. Plenty of parking in the lot. Service was kind and tea was good. This place is located in a strip mall square with plenty of free parking right off of the main road. So is really easy to locate. It is a larger space and I wouldn't say anything extravagant about the exterior or interior, but it is clean and comfortable. Service is always very fast and you are usually greeted and seated right away. There always seems to be a cute Korean server too, which is always a plus. I wouldn't say they go above and beyond in terms of service (like you have to ask for more water), but they are friendly. This is comfortable for families with younger children too. Menu is large and covers most American Korean favorites and some more traditional Korean foods also. They could go heavier on spice and the food is good. Definitely a spot i come back to, but I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had. Overall, always a good experience here. read more

Delicious! We finally made it here. The smell and the sizzling dishes coming out made me drool. Kids got ramen. Could have easily shared one ramen bowl between 2 kids. The kimchi pancake was yummy and HUGE!!! The garlic pork belly dish was sizzling goodness...very large portion as well. You need at least 4 adults for these dishes. The prices make more sense when you see the portion size. I actually wish they had half portions for less money. I would never come here alone. You must come in a large group of foodies to share. We visited for dinner and were immediately seated. We ordered the fried dumplings for appetizer, two soup noodles (beef Short ribs and chicken) and the chicken Fried rice for entrees. The dumplings were good and came with some soy sauce dipping. Both the soup dishes were good. They were very hot, so it took us some time before we could start enjoying. The Chicken Fried Rice was the best. It tasted more like the Thai version, and we loved it. The place was not too crowded and not too loud. There was no wait for a table for four on a Saturday night (the restaurant was never more than halfway full). We are in the middle of a cold wave this month (temperatures are in the teens during the day in Seattle), but I was still disappointed that the restaurant felt like it was 55 to 60°F. That's pretty chilly for a restaurant. Wait stuff were kind and service was prompt. The restaurant is in the middle of a strip mall, and the decor inside is nice, but not fancy. As as the food goes, we were happy but not that impressed. We ordered the "garlic chicken bulgogI", the "yache paa-jun" (vegetable pancake), and the pork deopbap, and it was plenty of food for four adults (the wait staff recommended we order one more dish but I'm glad we did not). The garlic chicken bulgogi was very impressive (I would invite foodies to try it!), but the other dishes were just good. If I lived nearby, I would come back occasionally, but this restaurant is pretty out-of-the-way for us, so I do not plan on coming back. read more

This place needs some MORE LOVE! I used to go there a lot and looks like they changed owners. I was skeptical and gave it another try and order my favourite DINNER for 2 which actually tasted better than before! Large portions of multiple dishes (soft tofu soup, galbi, katsu, side dishes, mandu and rice). If we go there as a family, we just need to order a few more dishes like Galbi Tang (which is one fo the best that I had tried in Seattle) and Bulgogi that comes with lots of beef. I was craving Korean soft tofu soup for lunch and this place has a galbi + soft touch soup lunch combo. The banchans here are delicious, every single one of them. There's usually 1 or 2 I don't like at most Korean restaurants, but all the side dishes here were very tasty. The soft tofu soup was good and so was the galbi. We come down from Bellingham and love this place. Been coming for years. My wife and grown kids went in and ordered off the new happy hour menu. The waitress was a little rude and when my wife and daughter ordered a dish to share got the owner (I am guessing) and went a little tilt as I guess two people are not allowed to share a happy hour food item? What? OK. We cannot share food, we definitely cannot share our hard earned cash. Dish was not up to usual taste anyway. We are done. My original Yelp reviews for Korea House were from 2015 and 2016 and have dined at periodically over a six year period through late August 2021. Definitely time for an update after a late lunch visit yesterday (4/28/22), dropping my long time 5 Yelp stars to a 3. For years Korea House in Bothell's Thrasher's Corner was sought out over popular spots in Seattle, Shoreline, Edmonds, and Lynnwood (haven't explored Federal Way yet). Loved the welcoming vibe, friendly staff, especially Morrison! Always well attended, well hydrated with hot barley tea and ice water, expansive menu, tasty and refillable banchan, and consistent menu items portion wise, content, and presentation 2016 to August 2021. In contrast, yesterday's visit thankfully was with former colleagues I hadn't seen for awhile. Great convo and networking over a 90 minute period onsite. Great company, but not the same can be said about the overall dining experience. Here are my reasons for the drop in Yelp stars: *no greeting at entrance or host stand, just pointed to a booth *masked waitperson seemed rather put upon and annoyed that we weren't ready to order. Menu did not have familiar layout, so of course took a bit of time to decide. Expressive eyes and subpar demeanor from that waitperson spoke volumes. *entrees and banchan were brought out in reasonable time, but kind of plopped on the table...like I said this person really was not wanting to be there, contrary to the hospitable kindness recalled from previous waitstaff and ownership. *A2 Haemool Soon-Doo-Boo / Seafood Soft Tofu Soup ($13.95) Bowl size and contents shrank considerably. Mushed up fish and tofu bits, 2 mussels, 1 clam. Not comparable to my previous visits. At least, it tasted fine. *no refill of tea, water, or check back 'how is everything?' *my two additional takeout entrees were nicely packaged with banchan and takeout utensils/napkins. Once I got home though, realized the takeout were missing the two bowls of rice that are supposed to accompany each entree ordered. A real disappointment to a family member awaiting his favorite Korea House faves. Seriously, Asian food with no rice? Thankfully, I had brought home my earlier untouched rice bowl. *Takeout entrees ordered were Gah-Ja-Mi-Goo-Yi / Pan Fried Flounder with lemon wedges ($15.95) and B1 Galbi BBQ Beef Short Ribs atop grilled onions - unsure if this was a small $21.95 or large $39.95. It was meaty and tasty, but hope I wasn't deliberately gyped. It was annoying enough to have the two rice orders missing. *My final bill: Separate checks but no itemized bill provided. My soup/rice & shared banchan onsite and the additional takeout entrees & banchan but two missing rice portions with tax and 20% tip was over $91. Get less food, no rice, and menu prices considerably increased. Wince. Ouch. Sadly, end of a culinary chapter at Korea House for me. Disappointing outcome. I'll have to put some effort finding another reliable, consistent go to spot elsewhere. No longer recommended. read more

Yum! Came in a weeknight for a birthday dinner and we were seated very quickly. The servers were so attentive, quickly refilling waters whenever we were empty and asking if we wanted more beers. All the food was super tasty and I definitely recommend doing the "family" meal deals. The banchan and rice is plentiful and we ended up with lots of leftovers to take home. One of my favorite tofu soups! Soup includes a generous amount of whatever your choice is, much more than what other places offer. Ban chan is standard, was interesting to see that there are beans but hey, nothing wrong with that. I wish there were more combos like lunch combos, but not a deal breaker. Feels more like a family style oriented restaurant, more so than your typical tofu house. Bring others to share with! Or just ask for a box and have your next meal ready. I think service depends on when you go, so that explains some other reviews. After a late night out at baseball, we decided to stop in the Korea House for dinner. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly and the restaurant was clean and inviting. My son order the chicken fried rice. Nothing out of the ordinary... Just really delicious chicken fried rice. My daughter ordered the udon, which was very flavorful and had great presentation. My fiancé and I both ordered the vegetable stone bowl. It was full of a variety of vegetables. It is always fun to stir up the rice and get the crispy bits at the bottom. The servings are generous and meals come with little side dish appetizers. There was glazed, sweet potatoes, two types of Kim, Ji, cucumber, salad, bean sprouts, and fish cake. I always enjoy coming here because the food is always good and the staff is always friendly. Brought a friend here last night and it was surprisingly quiet - I think it's the first time I've been in there where there were more empty tables than full ones, but maybe the weather, being a weekday, and new years resolutions are affecting businesses these first few weeks. We ordered soft tofu soup and it was served fairly quickly. This is one of my favorite dishes that I'd eat growing up and I almost always get it if I'm not getting meat at a Korean restaurant. I just can't get tired of it! I ordered the pork and kimchi and only wish it was served with an egg, but it was still delicious without. The rest of the side dishes were also tasty and we were able to get some refills on the ones we finished. Bulgogi is around $31 but the quality of the beef is way better than before. Same with the bibimbap- which used to come with ground beef - now it comes with the same type of beef as the bulgogi. Absolutely gigantic servings. Everything tasted legit and not too oily. I got japchae and was wholly surprised by how much food there was. Took over half home. So, yes, like other sit-down Korean places it's a little spendy, but it's for like 3x the amount of what you may pay at upscale American restaurants. The only interesting things were that the service was fairly slow (we were the only patrons for lunch) and our server didn't speak Korean. It was just right for her that she finished the whole thing! I had a few bites and there was great flavor with no spice. In all the experiences I've had with Korean food...I have never heard of having a choice in how spicy those were. I just figured there was only one...closer to higher powers in other realms hot. I had the djejee bulgogi. It was good. I figured it would be kinda fried some and not in a bunch of sauce. BUT...it was good enough to not complain and just eat up. Some of the sides with Kim chi were not as good though. I feel there could have been a spice level bump on the djejee bulgogi and kim chi. They charge for the lettuce to make the wrap things, but they give you the whole lettuce! The bean dip is on point. One thing is I'm used to having sliced garlic to add.
