*Small disclaimer - this review is made for Obar, a small cutesy side shop that's connected to Sottukkeong. However, on Yelp, Obar isn't recognized and their receipt ties back to Sottukkeong.* I gotta say, this cute lil joint called Obar Izakaya & sushi serves some wicked seafood pancake. Located right next to the main restaurant Sottukkeong, this place is fairly easy to spot as you drive around the tiny parking lot. Overall, here are my observations: -Came in around 9pm ish; was greeted by a sweet grandma like lady (who I assume was both the server, cook, and etc since there were no other staff present). -Menu is fairly basic and short -Wait time on food: A bit slow, but understandable if there was only 1 person on staff -Food: LOVE THE SEAFOOD PANCAKE! With plenty of seafood (this place doesn't skimp on the ingredients woot woot), this was quite the treat. Also, did order the fish cake soup but this was so so. Interior: Small & intimate! Definitely suggest coming here with a small group of 1-3, 4 at the max. This place definitely has the whole Japanese zen feel while incorporating delicious Korean food aroma. Oiiiiiii. Please take me back for more seafood pancake!

    Dak kal bi

Dak kal bi was very yumm! We got the fried rice after that. It was bomb!!!!! Soju price was little bit pricey but overall it was a good experience

    Combos off the menu!

There's so many Korean barbecue spots! I think I found a great one located in North Lynnwood off of SR-99! Sottukkeong is a small restaurant that delivers quality food. I came here on a Saturday evening and got seated right away by a very sweet, older Korean woman. We ordered one of the combos E. It came with thin slices of beef brisket and pork belly. I wish there was a combo that had short ribs along with it. There's no price if you wanted to add additional meat/seafood so we didn't bother to ask. To accompany our drink we had the yogurt soju and Hite beer although my boyfriend asked for the Lager. I don't think she understand English too well and that's totally fine. Our barbecue came out fast- along with the bachan and egg soup. Although i read another review that it came with a soybean paste soup hmm... I wish there was tofu soup! I enjoyed the meal. It was fulfilling for 2 people although $50 is pretty steep for just two meats and not all-you-can-eat either. We weren't terribly full but if there was another few pieces of thin sliced brisket i would've devoured that lol. I'm not sure how much our bill ended up being because my boyfriend paid LOL. But I'm sure it was around $80 in the end. They do make delicious kimchee! I wish I had asked for more but the lady never came back until the very end to get our check. Overall, delicious meal although a little pricey.

Has Chung-Sol gone through a rebranding? From my experience, it is now known as Sottukkeong. :) Anyways, Sottukkeong/Chung-Sol is my favorite Korean BBQ place in Lynnwood! Owned by a little old couple, the restaurant features various Korean BBQ combos, from pork belly (samgyupsal) and marinated beef (kalbi) to spicy pork and seafood. Your group can order one of the combos depending on what meat you want to grill. Some of the options also comes with beer or soju. Along with the grilling meat, you usually get a side order of Korean soybean paste stew (doenjang jigae) and steamed eggs (gyeran jjim). It's not the largest restaurant around - each table can probably seat 4 people max. if you're going primarily for grilling, you should probably go earlier rather than later. I've heard that it's a favorite for late night food/drinks and can get quite busy. :) If you still have room after your Korean BBQ, I highly recommend ordering the stir-fried rice. They fry it directly onto the grill, using the leftover marinade, grilled meat, etc. as flavoring and ingredients for the rice. Add some kimchee, soy bean sprouts and lettuce for extra seasoning!

Dakgalbi (fried rice was added later on)

Have been trying to find some Korean restaurants in the area, and was invited by a friend to try this place in Lynnwood. My friend knows his way around Korean cuisine, so ordered Dakgalbi for us to share. The lady (owner?), was friendly, and my friend was able to communicate in Korean which I think helped our experience! The food (which came with traditional sides), was good, not too spicy, but pretty flavorful. The leftover dakgalbi was transformed into a fried rice dish by the owner, which was amazing, since she did it all right in front of us at the table. Again, the rice was nice, not the best in the world, but was definitely good. The interior of this place isn't exactly modern or anything, but it's comfortable. It wasn't busy when we arrived (around 6pm on a weekend), but it started picking up around 8pm. It's definitely a whole in the wall type location, so you could easily miss it when driving by. I suggest trying once to see if you like it!

    Bibimbap with Banchan

So the only real appeal to this place is that they're open late. They have smaller portions with higher prices. Most korean places usually give you 5 side dishes and include rice. This place you have to pay for the entree and rice and side dishes are extra. I would probably only come back here if I were super desperate.

Great authentic korean bbq!!!! I moved from Atlanta and finally got to eat something I can say it's real korean bbq. Wish I had a car to drive over much more often! Customer service might not seem great at first, but please know it is NOT bc they don't care but because it's a mom and pop shop and the owner lady does a TON of the serving and managing. She also seems to be much more comfortable with Korean than English (I have only spoken Korean with her).

Finally a decent korean BBQ and "dak gal be" place north of federwal way!!! This place... generous with side dishes with a good varity. The food is just "makes your mouth water" and "make your stomach smile" good. It's in a small cozy place where I think the tables may seat up to 4. I'm sureyou can extend the tables. Come one and come all!!! Be happy there is an awesome BBQ in lynnwood!!!

this place is a rating for O Bar, which is connected and ran by the same business with a different concept. This is close to a traditional Korean pub in Korea, or it's a very common type of Korean tavern/pub type of establishment in Korea town in California. This place is very small and cozy with very decent food. I noticed most places in Washington doesn't serve soju by the bottle which is a upset. Soju is like wine for is along with our cuisine. It's a tradition. I was really happy that they actually served it by the bottle. This place is probably the better Korean establishment I been to within the week I have been here in Wasington.

this restaurant is the best i ever had!! I would love to recommend who love Korean BBQ traditional style. It really good with three people up because the good is a lot also the price isn't cheap, but it's reasonable if compare about price and good!!

Photos litter the walls, including a few of the owner if you know who to look for, of all the hockey greats. Some real salad on display in places. A few famous sticks are enshrined out front, and there's some relics here and there that tie the whole place together. Tables are a mix of booths, high tops, low tops, and bar seating. It's got The Vibe. The brews: wide selection. I'm a cider drinker but they had something for me. Their beer selection is almost all local except for the small handful of "if we didn't, we'd have a fight break out." Served right, in nicely cleaned glass, by someone who gives a damn about pouring it right. The meat: soft, tender ribs that fall off the bone. Brisket that is juicy but just firm enough. Burgers that hit harder than Larry Zeidel. If you have a big appetite you'll be fine. Otherwise, you'll have some left over for tomorrow. The sides: none of this KD quality Mac and cheese, it's home made and loose. Everything is made in house from some old recipe in some grange cookbook and sacre de calisse it's good. The potato salad is chunky like it should be. The beans ... oh the beans... perfection. The sauces: sweet isn't too sweet, hot ain't too hot, tastes like there's some good molasses and a bit of Pepsi in there somewhere. The meats don't come sauced so you get to pick exactly how much you want or how little. The meat might stand on its own, but the sauces are a harmony in the song. The poutine: **fuck me, lord** this is some of the best poutine in the state. My partner spent a hot minute in Quebec and he gushes over it. The gravy is made from drippings, it has to be I swear. You could make a meal out of just some poutine and a bit of meat. Split three ways it's still a powerful appetizer. Smooth gravy, crisp double-set fries, fresh curds... Criss d'ostie de câlisse de tabarnak, I'm in heaven. Oh and the service is amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, on time, attentive, and genuinely kind.

But the food is good, people are super nice, and prices are great. In long I had some time to kill in the area, and saw the rates for this place being nice and high. You walk past a smoker and a bunch of propane tanks to get to the door. Much as I'd prefer to see stacks of firewood outside a BBQ spot instead of propane, it's all good. Inside, there are a few tables over there, and an order window over here, with a pop cooler next to the window. Checkered tablecloths, some hats for sale, a couple Seahawks signs, casual and laid-back. They mostly focus on ribs, pulled pork, and chicken. You won't find 10-15 different proteins here, like a bigger place farther from town might have. They do have all the usual sides, though. On the table you get rolls of paper towels, a squeeze bottle of dark sauce, and a little pail full of forks. They bring you your food after 10 minutes or so. I checked out the Small Chicken Meal--a thigh, slaw, beans, and a store-bought roll. The sides here are decent, though maybe not special. That's to be expected at almost every BBQ spot in my experience. That thigh was perfect, though--tender, still very moist, really nice sweeter flavor from the sauce. The sauce on the table is a little ketchupy for me but it hits the spot. All this and a pop was barely $20, which is a nice way to price a plate of q. So many places get crazy expensive. That's expected anymore, but finding good q at a good value really is nice. It was empty when I showed up at 4:00, but there was a constant stream of people wandering in after I sat down. So easy to see why.

One day, lightning struck a tree, causing a massive forest fire that killed many animals. Our ancestors then discovered that cooked meat tasted much better than raw meat. This is why roast meat has always been regarded as an important part of the human diet. Today I gathered with friends and chose this barbecue restaurant. It's located north of Redmond, with a prominent sign and plenty of parking. Ambiance: The decor is creative, but it feels quite contradictory. Barbecue is inherently a very "Jianghu" (lively, rough-and-tumble) kind of thing, yet the restaurant leans toward an artistic, literary style. When I used to run my own restaurant, I followed a principle: avoid anything unrelated to the core dining experience. Seeing many books on the shelves here, I understand they're trying to bridge Jianghu and artistry -- but it clearly feels out of place. That said, the place is very clean, and the stickers/decorations are festive. Service: My high rating for this restaurant is largely based on the service. After we sat down, we were given free appetizers -- braised peanuts, which tasted great. The staff training is very professional, whether it's taking orders, making recommendations, attending to us during the meal, or checking on tables and refilling water. All excellent. Taste: Jianghu-style cuisine is characterized by boldness, satisfaction, and not sweating the small details. We ordered spicy hot pot (Malatang), spicy hot pot skewers, grilled beef, lamb, chicken gizzards, oysters, and many other items. First, the Malatang and spicy skewers tasted almost identical, so it felt like eating the same thing. The grilled skewers were just average -- neither good nor bad. The oysters were very tasty. However, the shrimp in the spicy skewers were very unfresh, which was disappointing. "By the way, the prices at 'Friendship Skewers' are anything but friendly -- I think it's quite overpriced overall."
