Despite my skepticism about their Asian-food-meets-Brazilian-food vibe, the concept pleasantly surprised me. Adding some pico de gallo to bulgogi beef is, apparently, a thing - and a good thing at that. I went with two friends and we ended up eating family style. Two cuisines you wouldn't expect to fuse but these folks did a stellar job of bringing out some new flavors. I specifically loved their noodles with tofu (tofu was so tender and flavorful) and my friends/ family liked the other recipes they tried too - the coriander sauce they have is quite famous so ask for that. The staff is so friendly and nice. They were very conscious of our group size and kept regularly checking in on us. Ta Joia is located in the Canyon Park Place, so there's ample shared parking spots with the neighboring businesses. I never have a hard time finding parking here. Walking in, there's a good amount of tables to the left of the entrance - about 6-10 tables which can sit about 25-30 people. There's a nice big wall to the right with the full menu so you can easily browse and see what you want to order while you wait in line. When you order and dine in, they'll bring out your order to you when you dine in. If you opt to just have water/hot tea to drink, they provide a self serve area to the left of the register, for you to get your own drink. The first time I came to Ta Joia, I ordered the Spicy Pork with Rice Cakes. It definitely is spicy, but it was very flavorful and tasty. I recommend getting it with the pico salad and cilantro sauce. You won't regret getting it with both of those as it adds even more flavors! The second time I came, I decided to try something different, so I got the House Spicy Chicken with pico salad. I unfortunately, forgot to get a side of the cilantro sauce, but it was still delicious! The chicken wasn't over cooked or anything. It was nicely cooked where it was still juicy and flavorful. My friend got the House Chicken and although he said it was good, when he tried a piece of the spicy chicken, he mentioned that he wished he got the House Spicy Chicken as well. We also got the Crispy Chicken and it lives up to its name! It was definitely crispy while still having the meat be juicy. There's about eight pieces of chicken, which was more than enough for two people. The ambience was nice. There's a tv with Kpop playing and the music is somewhat loud, but not too loud that you can't hear your conversation. It's the perfect place if you're big on Kpop. They do have a single gender neutral bathroom which is kept really clean. I appreciate places that keep their restrooms clean and tidy. When diners are done with their food, they do have a busing station near the area under the wall menu where you can return your used dishes and cups. The staff was great each time I visited! They were very attentive in checking in with diners to make sure the food was ok and if they needed anything. They are very attentive in telling you thanks for stopping in when they notice you are getting ready to leave. Overall, both of my experiences during both visits have been nothing but all positive!
