This place has some serious issues. I ordered black milk tea with boba-issues outlined below: 1. The drink was bland and flavorless which leads me to believe they didn't brew the tea correctly or didn't put enough in. I got outside before I realized my drink was almost completely white-it should be brown. 2. They were out of regular boba and instead had "pearl" boba. This stuff was gross, flavorless, and way too small- you get a mouthful when you try to drink the tea and you can't even chew them because again they are too small. This is unacceptable and the same as a sandwich shop being out of condiments. 3. Strangely bitter aftertaste- I am guessing the milk was bad? Only pro about this place is the decor. Been here about 4 - 5 times and enjoyed each visit! I think what makes T4 stand out compared to other boba shops is the vibe that their layout creates (seating arrangement, lighting, games, etc). It's ok. I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba and thought it was average. I've definitely had better. The Jasmine flavor was just mild where I preferred to have that light but fragrant flavor of Jasmine when it hits the pallet. You know when you have a really good tea. This wasn't quite it. What I also like is the Boba having a slightly sweet flavor. These were just little pieces of rubber that I chewed on. Honestly, I could've just done without them since it didn't really enhance the drink for me. Just empty calories. I only drank half of it which is a bummer when you're paying almost $5 for a drink. T4 is a chain that I've been to all around the bay area. I really enjoy the relaxing and fun vibe the environment gives off. This location in Davis is the one I frequent because many of my friends love the boba here. I definitely agree that this location and shop makes great boba thay is fresh. There have been a few occasions where they ran out of boba! They have some cool games such as giant Jenga and Connect4. The back room is also an interesting set up. I got the Osmanthus Royal Tea with grass jelly because they ran out of boba. It was only like 2pm and they ran out of boba, but anyways the tea itself is pretty strong. I didn't adjust the sweetness of this drink, but I kinda wish I did because it was a little too sweet for me. I'm not sure if they always do this, but my drink was like 2/3 full of grass jelly and barely any tea. It was like the tea was actually the topping. I'm not really feeling this place. I love their Earl grey milk tea. I must say that all the teas that I had here (Royal Rose tea, Pearl milk tea with green tea base) are very good. I usually just do regular sweetness and regular ice. They have a buy 9 get 1 free deal with the stamp cards. The stamp card can only be used at this location though (a lot of boba places actually do that now so I wasn't surprised). Drinks are good though. You can taste the quality, but the drinks do come out on the sweeter side! So 50% or 80% sweet is good enough. Also offer snack foods like popcorn chicken, calarami, and wings. They also offer adjustments for sweetness and ice level. Decor is modern and chic, with a bunch of board and card games. It's pretty spacious, so its good for big crowds and a great place to hang out for a sufficient amount of time. I decided to get the french pudding milk tea with no ice and 30% sweetness because a friend told me their drinks run on the sweeter side ($3.50). Indeed he was right! 30% sweetness was perfect for me! Milk tea was not powdery and smooth. Egg pudding was fresh as well. I like how the drinks here are cheaper compared to other places in Davis. I really wish I could give them a good rating bc they're in the middle of downtown and right next to my work making it a quick boba stop. But this is literally the worst boba I've ever had. Poor ingredients, milk tastes like creamer mixed with tap water and the pearls have no flavor and a less than appetizing texture. This place is also always dirty. Ever since T4 opened in Davis, it's become my new favorite boba shop. I really enjoy all the drinks I've ordered, but the matcha with fresh milk topped with the small baby boba is my current favorite. The employees are very nice and work as fast as they can! It gets really busy, so it's understandable if the drinks might take a little longer than they do when there's no line. There's a lot of seating available, and all the chairs are very comfortable. I come here to study and it's not uncomfortable. However, there are only a few outlets that are located near tables, so it's not my go-to place to study for long periods of time. My rating would be higher, but the shop seems to be inconsistent with having their egg puffs available :'( Since I'm constantly craving it, I always get disappointed when the workers tell me their machine is still broken. T4 is a notorious boba shop from the Bay Area, and it finally made its way in the Davis and Sacramento region. The boba shop is located down the steps of a plaza across from Thai Canteen and behind Mishka's Cafe. It's one of the VERY few boba shops that carry small tapioca balls (as well as various other toppings too). For that particular reason, T4 is one of my favorite boba shops. Some of my favorite drinks are Earl Grey milk tea, Jasmine MT, Elegant Rose Royal Tea, and their regular Black MT (can't go wrong with a classic, right?). I discovered that their drinks are on the sweet side, so I always have to lower my sweetness (usually to 80% or 50%). I also find that they can go heavy on the syrup sometimes, so I tend to order drinks that don't have any... They serve snacks as well. Aside from the sweetness adjustment and syrup, the taste of their drinks are great. I definitely prefer the taste of T4 boba drinks over its competitors nearby because its flavors are there. There are a fair amount of board games inside, including a large-sized Jenga and Connect Four; however, most of the regular sized games are either missing pieces or really dirty. The deck of cards I've grabbed were quite sticky... The inside of the store is decorated with modern decor with TVs, strings of LED lights, and white chairs and tables. Their playlist usually consists of trendy songs too, which makes it easy to stay here for a while and chat with friends, or catch up on work (with free WiFi). T4 can be packed. There were times I couldn't find seating (even outside) and they ran out of tapioca balls, so beware of those busy times. And don't forget to get your stamp card from your cashier! read more

I got the mango royal tea with 80% sweetness and 80% ice. I figured that mango is normally sweet so it'd be smarter to downgrade the sugar. Unfortunately, it was still sickly sweet and has a weird initial and final taste. Basically it tastes something along the lines of a liquid mango Hichew. I personally wouldn't get this again. I've gotten the panda milk tea at two separate instances. First one was a complete and utter fail. It had zero tea flavor. I got it 50% sugar and regular ice. Half the regular sized cup was filled with large ice cubes. It was one of their first days of opening. So I gave them a second chance cause I just love t4 like that lol. This time I got 30% sugar and 30% ice. Still very little hint of tea. It's not the worst t4 location though, but they should really go to midtown Sacramento t4 and get some advice lol. This t-4 sits in the ring of fire now for milk tea. It's surrounded by other boba places in Davis (lazy cow, Open Rice Kitchen, Mandros, Snowflake, tea house) and etc. I ordered a sea foam black milk tea with pudding. The tea was ok... I usually like my teas a little creamier. However if you prefer otherwise this would be perfect. The great thing about T-4 is that they have so many toppings... they have a glass pearl that is really good as well. I think that it's included in the potted milk tea. I've been to two other locations, one in Sacramento and another back home in the Bay Area. (Fremont). Since this place is relatively new, it took a long time for me to get my tea. It's a nice addition to davis and hopefully with time the employees will get the hang of getting out their boba teas. read more

I remembered having not the greatest experience at another T4, but I decided to give it another try. I got the Okinawa milk tea with pearls. It was Saturday night so there were a few people in front of me but the service was quick and the drinks came out within 3-5 minutes. My drink wasn't overpoweringly sweet.
