I've been coming here since it was called Bober Tea because I love the cute pink interior design. I love trying new drinks and waffles everytime I go. They have a very large menu so I haven't tried their snacks or noodles yet. My go to drink is the pink Vietnamese coffee, it's quite strong so something to keep in mind! It's a nice place for working and studying although it can get quite loud as most people come to hang out with family/friends. I love that they have outlets but their seating is quite limited (3 tables last time I went in). Although it's a little pricey I will probably keep coming back for the pink vibes and to try more matcha drinks. read more

Very cute and spacious store near UC Davis school campus. The way the interior is decorated would definitely make for some cute Instagram photos. The employees were very nice and helpful as well. They have a large menu of drinks and snacks including soy pudding, Vietnamese coffee, and waffles. If you are somebody that's new to Asian drinks and desserts I would say that this is a good introduction to those drinks and desserts BUT it is 3 times sweeter than what they normally are. I ordered a soy pudding and I don't believe there was a sweetness level adjustment option and it was very very sweet. The level of sweetness would be something that younger kids probably enjoy. We also tried a hazelnut Vietnamese coffee which had a very strong coffee flavor but was also very very sweet. Cute place and good sips. The decor is super cute. Place is clean. Service is good but with ordering being on the tablet there is really not much human interaction. Staff are all in the back making drinks so it's really hard to get someone if you have questions. I got a mango matcha which is good. I also got a coconut pudding with fruit which is very tasty. It doesn't look like what's on the menu but it tastes really good. I would come back for the coconut pudding and maybe try more drinks. I had the Taho and BWE had the mango green tea with boba. They knocked it out of the park. The taho reminded me of the taho that I had in the Philippines years ago. I've been to Tomo Teahouse in Natomas and this place is just as cute. It's very "pink" and picturesque. They have a wide variety of speciality drinks and their prices are pretty decent. I do like the self-serve kiosks, unfortunately, there's no one at the counter so we were not greeted upon entering. There is a window whereas the people working in the back can see customers. I'm not usually the "small talk type" so I didn't mind not chatting it up, but a little acknowledgement would be nice. I've never seen the Hmong Naam Vaam before, so I had to try it here. I was surprised that it was pretty good. No cendols, but just tapioca pearls and jelly. Not too sweet, which I enjoyed. The advice I suppose I should give is to visit TOMO Tea House earlier in the day rather than later to avoid potential sell outs. If they do have the item you'd like then you are in for a treat as the drinks and food at TOMO are well-crafted and delicious. They have many items that are unique to Davis like their mochi waffles and coconut pudding. The menu is pretty vast and it could be hard to decide on something to try. The dining area is cute but there isn't a ton of seating available. On my last visit there was a strange smell in the air that wasn't too pleasant. I have been to the Sacramento location a few times but it was my first time going to this Davis location and it was just as good! I got the strawberry banana drink which tasted like a strawberry banana smoothie. The employee was so nice and our drinks came out very quickly. Parking is available in the lot behind the 1st Street area - it's plentiful, but during busy hours it can still be hard to find parking. Prices are definitely on the higher side. An expected rotating college crowd here getting their caffeine/sugar intake in for the day before heading off to class/work/study. TOMO is one of the better boba spots in Davis. They have a wide variety of unique drinks and their prices are relative to other boba in the area. I've tried quite a ride variety of their drinks and I don't think I've had one that isn't good. The mung bean pandan latte was probably my favorite but I also enjoyed their sugar cane, clouds, and pandan coffee. Slight note, the calamansi sugar cane is definitely more of an acquired taste. It really hits you with this taste of sour and then sweet so be warned. Also, don't leave the sugar cane in your fridge for more than two days... it was sour after (but this was a me mistake). Overall, service and drink making is very fast and efficient. The only comment I have on this is that they should probably get their receipt printer fixed sometime since the past couple of times I've been there, they've been very confused as to who ordered what and just have a ton of unlabelled drinks. Got the jasmine green tea with honey boba (forgot to say milk tea until after they'd already made it, lol) at 25% sweet + less ice -- very refreshing and not too sweet! The tea is flavorful and the boba is just the right amount of sweet/chewy! :] They sell mochi donuts here as well and it looks like they'll also be offering snacks once they're fully-fully open! The kids love the strawberry to buy a chocolate dessert. It's a bit pricey but also very tasty and a very nice presentation. It's pretty rich and they give you a lot. It's been a bit disappointing sometimes when we show up and they don't have that. So I would just recommend that they plan a little better. It is the cutest place inside. Wow, Tomo Teahouse is absolutely adorable! I would definitely come here for a sweet treat. The space is so aesthetically pleasing, dominated by charming pink decor that adds to the overall ambiance! The prices are quite reasonable, around $7 per drink. The boba is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. I was curious about the mango sago since I had never tried it before, and on the recommendation of the sweetest employee, Myve, I decided to give it a shot! When I asked her about it, rather than giving a quick answer, she took the time to show me what it looked like and share why it's one of her favorites. Heard so many good things about this place, so I was excited to try it. Tomo replaced Bober so the interior was kind of the same. Seats were comfortable plus there's wifi! Service was kind of slow, but they were understaffed. I tried the Mango Green Tea, but it was too sweet for my liking. My friends liked it since they like sweet drinks, so it's just a matter of personal preference. It seems like there was only one person preparing the drinks and desserts. We later saw a drink placed out on the counter that was exactly what we ordered but the employee never called out the name for that order. She called every other drink that came out afterwards. She was always in the back kitchen and rarely came out to the front so we rang the bell for assistance. Even after doing so, she never came out to help us. The Boba here is warm and just the texture I like. Initially a little soft and then firms up a little. As wide a selection of drinks as you can imagine. Writing this as I stare at my drink already prepared, waiting to be given to me... but I guess the servers want to prepare ALL drinks ordered first before giving them out, despite the logic that the drinks ordered first will have been sitting out for some time. My girlfriend was mad at me and craving something sweet, so I took her here because we saw it being hyped up on tik tok. We got the Strawberry & Cream and the Green Thai Tea with brown sugar boba. Drinks came out fast, which I appreciated. My girlfriend liked the Strawberry & Cream more, but to me, it just felt like an upgraded strawberry milk, it was good, but nothing mind-blowing. The Green Thai Tea leaned more towards green tea than a real blend of green tea and Thai tea, so that was kind of disappointing. Now, the boba was a huge letdown. The brown sugar boba was weirdly hard, like I was chewing on old, dried-out rice. I had to spit it out, and no, it wasn't because of the ice, I drank my tea right away. The location is kind of a hard since there's no parking lot in front, so you have to find street parking and walk to the location. Inside, the space is small but cozy, with sofa chairs and a light, welcoming aesthetic, which I liked. Final thoughts? It's just another boba shop, nothing special.
