One of the few boba spots in Davis open late at night. But it's really quiet here.. lights were super dim and I couldn't tell if it was open or not, kind of like an eerie motel off the side of a road. Staff were very kind, even late at night. Orders were accurate and efficient. I like the flavor customization options, but the tea is just regular. Snack options are a plus. Note: There is no public WiFi here. Kinda defeats the purpose of being open so late IMO. Would be a nice quiet study place if there was read more

Teabo Café - Strawberry Lychee Green Tea - Cafes Near Me - Davis, California

Hidden gem in the Davis area, you cannot beat the price or the service. Upon entering there's a kiosk with a detailed menu of everything they offer and their Ten principles, one about the Perfect Drink Guarantee caught my eye, emphasizing they value the quality of their drinks and customer satisfaction. Our two drinks with toppings came out to be $10 and ready within 5-7 minutes of ordering. We ordered their Teabo Signature Black Milk Tea with boba and a Custom Blended Fruit Tea with crystal boba. I wanted to try their boba for sure since all of the reviews mentioned how divine it is. And I was happily surprised with the quality of their boba so late into the night. The texture was still very soft and chewy, not too sweet, and the portion of the boba was generous!! The black milk tea was strong and silky, I changed the sweetness to 75% and it was perfect. The ambiance is dark, dimly lit, lots of pandas (paintings and decor) everywhere. It was really quiet when I visited, I saw a couple students working on homework. And a family enjoying boba and various finger food snacks they offer. Would definitely come back whenever I'm in the area!! read more

Great boba cafe! Always have a good time here and have never had a bad experience The staff is super nice and very helpful if you're ever unsure of what to get. They know all the good drink or popular drink combinations When entering it's a small shop but still plenty of seating and nice for just a little chill spot by yourself or with friends. They have games you can play, like card games and jenga for you and your group They close pretty late at this location so those late night cravings are always met here! As for the boba and drinks! Honestly one of my favorite spots for boba will happily drive out of the way for this spot The combinations are endless and has never disappointed They use quality ingredients for those more fresh drinks and you can tell! For the food! So good Have gotten a couple things off their menu and let me tell you the star of the show is the sauce they offer The spicy ranch highly recommend They have a sweet chili also and that's also amazing But the spicy ranch Must have at least once The Cajun fries are a great shareable option and as well as the popcorn chicken Very good with the sauce or by itself All in all great staff, super helpful and nice Great food And great drinks! Always highly recommend read more

Told you I come back for the shrooms. Where else can you go if you are vegan and all your friends want popcorn chicken and boba. You can tell them to go to hell. Or you can forgive them like Jesus did for all of us and tell them to go to Teabo and try their fried mushrooms instead of chicken. Ambiance was great on a Friday night! Solid A read more

Ambiance: a small cozy boba shop with a respectable amount of seating. Service: self service kiosk with paper directions on how to order drinks. Food: I got the popcorn chicken and a custom milk tea. The popcorn chicken was average. It was crunchy and flavorful but had neither surpassed what was expected. The milk tea was quite unique as they had many customizable options. I thought this concept was interesting and quite enjoyed my honey and taro combination. read more

Milk tea: 4/5 The quality is pretty good. Service: 1/5 Went in and ordered with the kiosk right near the entrance. There was no one in the store so I assumed the staff inside the kitchen was making it. Waited a bit and started to become concerned. Went up to the staff counter and realized there was a tiny paper saying that the barista is gonna be away for 30 minutes. Why did they not put the paper on the ordering kiosk?!?!?! Since I have paid, I had to wait for the barista to come back. The staff inside the kitchen was still working and making the food orders for other customers. Why can't the kitchen staff make drinks???? I do not understand the management of this store. Avoid this place if you're in a rush. I do not live in the area so idk if that's their usual practice. I truly hope not but this was my experience. Ambiance: many tables inside. Plenty of parking outside. read more

I've always liked Teabo for their drinks and food. I used to come here in college when it was the only boba place in town. I don't live in the area anymore, so I only stop by Teabo for a treat when I'm on my way home. I usually get the chotaro (chocolate and taro) green milk tea with boba and their popcorn chicken. Although their boba isn't the best, it satisfies my craving when I want something affordable. I'll always enjoy the chotaro green milk tea flavor though. I also like that they give a generous amount of popcorn chicken and that it isn't too spicy. The service was a little slow during my last visit, but it's not always like that. Sometimes I order online, and just five minutes later, I get a text saying both my drink and food are ready. Teabo Cafe has always had a chill vibe. The lighting in the cafe makes me want to relax and socialize rather than study. read more

I'm not giving this place a 5 stars because I think their drinks are the best. In fact I think their drinks are just alright. I'm giving this place a 5 star review because their portion sizes for the cajun fries are huge for the price! & I LOVE their spicy ranch sauce so much sometimes I crave this place just for the sauce. read more

Kind of disappointed. Paid like $30 on DoorDash ($21 to Teabo) for a milk tea and some popcorn chicken with two sauces. Milk tea was good but they added the wrong topping, I got no star jelly (like just put lychee jelly on the menu if you don't have the star version). The popcorn chicken was good but dry to eat without any sauce. I paid 60 cents each for sweet chili and spicy ranch, but received none. Teabo put "DOUBLE CHECK THIS ITEM" on their receipt too, but they obviously don't follow their own policies. Overall the food and drinks taste good, you just don't get the items that you pay for. They really need to check orders better. read more

Great food and drinks. The new staff is terrible. Rude and audibly talking shit in the back. When confronted they acted like I'm in the wrong for politely asking how long my food would take. The manager needs to check who they hire for customer facing positions. Shout out to Teabo for being open hella late and therefore being our quick stop for a pick me up on the way back to Sac from Napa. You order from the kiosk and then pick up from the counter. Pretty simple. Tons of options to choose from You might want to consider going for the full sweetness cause mine at 50% didn't taste like anything. That's what I get for trying to watch my sugar intake. Played myself. read more

The fried mushrooms are always a must have when I go here. They're absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and juicy. I also tried the chicken Katsu with rice for the first time. It's very crispy and crunchy. There's also a lot of spices covering it and it's nicely balanced by the rice. The drink was okay, as it's mostly syrup and doesn't taste as heavy as milk tea. The main star is the food. One of my favorite places in Davis. The person who got me my food was super nice so a plus for that too read more

I love that you can order online and just pick it up when you're on the fly. They have a great selection of drinks. I have not tried the food... Maybe a little too many fried things for me but that's fine. Those coyotes is next-door. I typically have a Jasmine milk tea with very little sweetener. It never fails! Service is very good. They can get crowded, but generally if you go when they open, they're very few people around. They have parking out front. It's usually pretty quiet. Found this place after I ate at a nearby restaurant so I Stopped in for a quick drink. I ordered through the kiosk. It was quick and we got our order fairly quickly. I ordered the taro with boba and didn't adjust my sweetness which I usually do because most drinks are really sweet. I'm so glad I left it at 100% because it wasn't sweet at all. came back and we got a lychee matcha milk tea, oreo blizzard & popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken was really good and so was the milk tea the blizzard wasn't the best when we first got it there were large chunks of ice in it and I went back to ask if there is anyway they can blend it more due to the large chunks of ice and they didn't seem the happiest about me asking and after a few seconds of silence they just responded "ok". We received it back and there were still chunks of ice so we definitely are going to just stick with the milk teas. read more

With no hyperbole, the worst tea I've had in California and all of the western seaboard in my 20 years around here. I passed through Davis on the way to SF and stopped by for a grab and go. The tea was so bitter when I tried it while driving I even thought about driving 10 minutes back towards Davis to return it, but it wasn't worth the hassle. Given the extreme bitterness I'm guessing they oversteeped the entire batch of tea by a day, and not just mine. Maybe it was an off day, but if so they prob screwed up a buncha people's tea that day. read more

===== [Overview] ===== Teabo is the boba of Davis. It's the perfect place to study (during the day) or hang out (night). It serves every purpose as a boba cafe and is ingrained as the one of the best places in my memories here. Whenever I come here now, it feels like I'm coming home. Sad to see my polaroid with my friends is no longer on the wall but I'm happy to see new ones. ==================== ======= [Food] ======= This boba cafe does not have the generic drinks but is more for specialty. Their boba here is honey glazed, fresh, and warm when added to your drink. It's chewy. Recommendations: - [Teabo]: Their classic and it's delicious. - [Chotaro]: I feel like this is their most well-known because of how you mix two good things together. I drink it out of nostalgia but I think it tastes more like chocolate milk. - [Oreo Blizzard]: Maybe because my favorite ice cream flavor is cookies and cream but this is good on a hot day. ==================== read more

Teabo Café - Those boba balls are the only thing in my drink - Cafes Near Me - Davis, California

The tea is over-steeped. The workers don't know how long the tea steeps for and, according to them, their boss has it made in large condensed batches instead of making the tea to order. Sugar is the only thing that makes this palatable and even then it's soapy. When I bought a boba (green tea, soy milk, with aloe, and lychee stars, zero sugar) the same tea I normally get at any other boba place, I got home to a soapy mess that was so disgusting I washed the boba and brewed my own homemade tea to use with the boba--which was at least okay. I called Teabo and said the tea was over-steeped. The customer service script ensued and they barely wanted to do anything about it but eventually said if I came by tomorrow night during one specific employee's shift, they would make me the same tea just not over-steeped. They changed nothing. Except this time they also forgot the lychee stars, even with a printed receipt provided. The tea was disgustingly over-steeped and this time without the sweetness of the lychee stars tasted worse. I called again and found out the workers have no idea how their tea is made. Their boss has others in the back make drinks in huge batches with unknown steep times. At that point I asked for a refund which they refused to provide. If you actually like tea, not just sugar loaded milk, avoid this place and go anywhere else. It's worth the wait and it only takes 2-3 minutes to steep green tea anyway. read more

We stopped in for a quick drink for the road. The regular milk tea with boba was on the lighter side (got it 10% sweet). I got the matcha green tea latte with jelly stars and it tasted very powdery and thick. I'm not too much of a fan of thick matcha lattes so I didn't enjoy it as much. Teabo Café - Matcha Green Tea latte w lychee stars - Cafes Near Me - Davis, California

I went to Teabo at least once every couple of weeks when I lived in Davis for undergrad. It was great-- fast service, good boba, delicious tea! I always got jasmine milk tea, half sweet, with half boba and half lychee stars. Lychee stars are awesome because they fit up the straw instead of getting stuck like the lychee jelly strips other places sometimes use. Coming back to visit, I of course had to stop by here! Unfortunately the tea quality was way different this time. The service was still fast, and the boba and lychee stars were still good, but the tea was kind of bitter and almost burnt/oversteeped tasting. I was sad that my favorite tea place tastes so different now. I'll try it again next time I'm in Davis; hopefully it was just a one-time thing. read more

This is usually our Boba place to go to in Davis, but I'll need to cancel them. Drinks are usually really good n customer service is cool until today!! Ordered some Thai fries and 3 drinks. Got our drinks n made the mistake of needing the bathroom. Another customer grabbed my damn fries while in the bathroom. Why do people just grab without confirming it's what they order???? She left the store and they start getting busy so I asked "how much longer for the fries?" as I'm still waiting customer Comes back in to give the fries back saying it's not her side of rice. Guy gives her the side of rice that has been sitting, she leaves. He looks up at me and tells the coworker these are the fries. He looks back up AT ME AND GOES HERE ARE YOUR FRIES!!! I looked at him so silly. Like dude no. I don't want those damn fries someone just took opened and returned. I paid for fresh fries. I PAID THEY TOOK THE FRIES TO THE BACK. HAD US WAIT I ASKED "I will be getting fresh fries right" Girl worker looked annoyed and says yeah. Umm home girl chill, u got a job cause customers walk in. AND TO BE FAIR I wasn't even upset with the employees was more annoyed at the customer cause the fries and rice don't even come in the same packages, rice is in a plastic see through container. I am 100% convinced they gave us the same fries. The fries were soggy and somewhat cold once my son started eating them. Which sucks if it was the same fries cause it's not fair I am not getting what I paid for. Very disappointing! Teabo Café - They're out of Thai tea right now!! - Cafes Near Me - Davis, California

Came around 12 AM. I give them two stars because they're open and the kitchen isn't closed until 1AM. I use to work at a boba shop for years in San Jose & LA. Customer service is something I look for at most places. Looks like the workers had a few friends over (reasonable) but the guy worker lowkey attitude. As soon as I was done ordering he went out to the lobby to kick it with his friends. He seemed bothered by the fact that we came in to order. Also when I ordered my drink, the female worker laughed at what I ordered. Yes, I ordered just an unsweetened tea. That's all. Is there an issue? All we heard were her comments while we were waiting for our drinks. I just find the customer service here lousy and sad. Hopefully the owners or management do something considering looking at prior yelp reviews, customer service is not what they strive for. I'd rather be at pekoe, tastea, percolate or other boba places. Teabo isn't quite the ideal place to get a drink, I'm hoping Davis opens more boba places soon! Until then, I definitely won't be visiting anytime soon. read more

We used to love hanging out here. But the drinks quality declined terribly for powdered drinks especially. - think taro and matcha. We've had many orders done wrong - including ones where they've messed up on allergies (using almond flavor instead of almond milk and giving regular milk) Aside from the poor service. Teabo is one of our go-to spots here in Davis, CA! We always love coming here to celebrate the start/end of every quarter! The reasonable pricing, welcoming environment, speed, and variety of food/drinks make our ordering a pleasant experience. Starting with the boba, there's a large variety of toppings and flavors that you can mix and match to get exactly what you're looking for! If you're unsatisfied with your drink, they'll happily remake it for you! During this visit, we ordered a taro milk tea w/ boba and customized a matcha + vanilla milk tea w/ boba. The taro milk tea w/ boba was great! If you're craving a classic boba experience, this drink will surely satisfy you. The matcha + vanilla milk tea w/ boba was sweet and we found that the vanilla flavor was stronger than the matcha. We'd recommend this drink if you're looking for something sweet! The Chicken Katsu w/ Rice is our favorite dish from their menu! It comes with chopped breaded chicken, coated in their classic seasoning. The white rice is simple, but it complements the chicken well. While we enjoy it, there seems to be an abundance of rice compared to the chicken and we always have some rice left over. Maybe a more balanced rice-to-chicken ratio would enhance our experience. Overall, we enjoy this dish and it's one you must try! read more

Sad to say this is the only boba place open late nights. Drinks are below average with so much syrups. Also my girlfriend ordered a green tea unsweetened and all we hear is one of their girl workers saying ewww and gross and who gets unsweetened green tea. How would that make the person who ordered the drink feel? That's crazy how unprofessional and Lousy their service is . I'm sorry but the girl who works there. For you to talk crap about a persons drink and how they want it is uncalled for. Especially for not being asian at an Asian boba place. I don't see the issue of unsweetened green tea when clearly I'm sure you don't season anything if you get my drift. Definitely won't come back here. Trash read more
