I've been to the Davis location twice and my experiences both times have been solid. The staff are friendly and efficient with making my drinks. Both times, my coffee has been strong and flavorful. The first time I went with a strawberry rose latte and the second time I went with a blueberry vanilla latte. I got a large for each and they lasted me through the afternoon. I have not had an issue with the ice to coffee ratio as well. They have some really cute pastries on display, but I have yet to try some. I love the vibrant interior! There are always students or Davis locals hanging around, working, or studying when I visit, and while the service sucks in that area, they offer WiFi. I've only gotten my coffee to go but from other reviews I've seen, the cups are super cute! There's even a nice list of food offerings ranging from light bites to sandwiches. World Traveler is one of my favorite chains in the area and I'll definitely be back whenever I need my caffeine fix. read more

Drinks We stopped in for coffee while we were in the area. I ordered the Iced Caramel Vanilla Latte, which was not as sweet as I expected to be. My husband ordered the Mexican mocha, and this one really missed the mark. He's had Mexican mochas from other coffee shops before, but this one was overwhelmingly dominated by the Mexican chocolate flavor, making it basically undrinkable. Atmosphere The café itself is very clean, modern, and spacious. There was plenty of seating and a good number of students studying inside, which gave it a calm, productive vibe. It's definitely a nice space to hang out or get some work done. Service Service was great -- the cashier was friendly, and our drinks were made quickly. Overall While the drinks weren't what we hoped for, the interior and service were solid. We're unsure if we'd return for coffee specifically, but we would come back to try their breakfast options. read more

I have tried this cafe 2 times and had different experiences: First time I went the staff were really friendly and my blueberry latte was a bit watered down and had little ice, but the flavor was good. However, the WiFi was not working at all. I tried to load pages across an hour before giving up and going home. I did really enjoy the lighting and bright atmosphere so I felt like giving it a second chance. My second time, I tried a cold brew. I think the ratio with ice was better this time, but the coffee was a bit too sour for my preference. The cashier was friendly but the barista was less so. The WiFi worked well for me but not for my friend, maybe it's just inconsistent and dependent on what you are trying to load? I haven't tried the pastries or food yet but I would recommend coming to meet friends, people watch, or just look out the window at the fall leaves. read more

I enjoyed studying here! They have wifi but Canvas doesn't work through it (probably because of privacy) but I enjoyed my experience here. Tried the Strawberries and Cream Matcha with Oat milk which was OK. I liked the cream but could not taste too much of the matcha. Also tried the London Fog Latte with oat milk which was delicious! The carrot loaf was also really good. Always love a good coffee place with good studying atmosphere. There's also restroom, indoor and outdoor seating. First off the space has the most GORGEOUS bright clean open space with huge windows and fluffy benches. I love a white coffee shop vibe. The barista totally had my back when I asked about her faves and wanted suggestions. I got a delish vanilla brown sugar flat white that I'd order 100 times over. A friend and I decided to try World Traveler for lunch. I could not find a menu online so checked Yelp photos. There were two photos of their menu board with several sandwiches and salads but the pictures weren't clear enough to make out the descriptions. Once we read the menu in person, we realized that there was no item on it that would work for either of us. My friend is a vegetarian that can't tolerate gluten, so that eliminated the sandwiches for her. Both salads included meat. I'm allergic to lettuce and don't eat pork products. Most of the sandwiches include bacon and they all include spring mix. Why order something and pay or it and ask for some of the major ingredients to be left out? I am glad that a World Traveler Coffee Roasters arrived in Davis. Especially a coffee shop in the Oakshade Town Center (It is at the same location as Common Grounds Coffee that closed a few years ago). They are in their soft opening so I'd say there are some fine touches to work through, but everything seems smooth so far. I've been to the one in Roseville at the Galleria and the aesthetic is the same with it's blue velvet chars and light wood tone throughout. The coffee shop features coffee, tea, some specialty coffee drinks, as well as pastries and breakfast sandwiches. I had their almond croissant (heated) with a Brown Sugar Latte with Oat Milk and my partner had a Blueberry Black Tea (brewed, not tea bag) with Rose Syrup, Iced and a Plain Cream Cheese Bagel (didn't have chive cream cheese) with some honey. The Brown Sugar Latte was perfect for me as it wasn't too sweet. The blueberry was refreshing, although the rose wasn't too prevalent. There is a nice seating area towards the back. There are small tables along two walls with a long bench that surround a long table that seats 8 (presumably for communal use). There seems to be ample power plugs underneath the benches. We went in the morning around 9am and the sun heats you up if you are in the sun's rays. I believe you bus your own plates and cups but it wasn't super clear. There is also wifi, but I didn't use it. All in all I hope this place continues to be great and turn into an nice coffee shop in South Davis. read more

This place could be great. They have a beautiful space and, when they have the ingredients to make the things on their menu, the food and drinks are delicious. However, after being open a few months, here is where the experience has landed: 1) service is hurried, rushed and marginally friendly to uninterested 2) no availability for seating on weekends as students take every indoor seat, with computers, books and backpacks setup for the day 3) chronic lack of full menu (out of decaf coffee beans, out of fruit or limited for oatmeal, out of Brazillian coffee beans for drinks (a fave). Also, ordered food items sometimes dont ever come out of kitchen, so process from ordering to plating is flawed. Out of 10ish visits, all things in this review were observed at least half the time. Really hopeful that this place ups their game as it had the potential to be one of the best in Davis. read more

Beautiful cafe with great outdoor patio and large indoor seating area. Service was friendly and efficient. My daughter got the strawberry shortcake Macha. It was excellent and had just the right amount of sweetness (not overly sweet) with natural flavoring that I could taste. I had a cappuccino and it was perfect. The milk was thick and foamy like I have not had before. I told them it was the best. This place puts emphasis on high quality ingredients and craftsmanship per their website and you can taste this . Love the atmosphere and lighting here. The staff are friendly. The wait is consistently long. Today there were three workers. That was better than previously. The sitting area was nice and full of students prepping for finals. The bathroom was in a bad state of affairs; no paper towels, debris and footprints all over the floor, and an overflowing trash can. Fifteen minutes (ironically the same amount of time we waited for our Americanos) would have righted things easily. read more

They don't know how to follow instructions here. For whatever reason all the baristas working shift today had attitude too. My coffee was trash. I love the unsweetened iced matcha lattes and gold eclairs here. I usually like ordering unsweetened matcha lattes wherever I go, but it's rare for me to love how a place prepares it, so this place way exceeded my expectations! :) The atmosphere was nice, albeit too crowded for my liking, since I came in on a weekend. I think if I get the chance to in the future, I'd like to sit inside and study at a less crowded time. Despite it being crowded, the counter wasn't too busy. The baristas were very kind and patient while I looked at the menu and asked them questions about some of their drinks (specifically, about the difference between a Parisian hot chocolate and a regular one, and what's in the golden eclairs). Solid coffee for Davis standards and the chocolate loaf was very moist and rich! Very good study ambiance and natural lighting through the windows. The only thing is not all areas have outlets so make sure your devices are charged upon entering. Wifi isn't totally reliable in the area I was sitting in so I ended up using a hotspot. read more

I enjoyed this spaces as a study area as the ambiance and seating was so nice! There were also a million outlets which was very helpful. The coffee was good as well. My only issue was that the wifi was a bit spotty at times (it worked fine for me but did not connect at all for my friend) and that there are many sites that are unaccessible such as canvas, gradescope, playposit, pearson (I assume privacy issues). Unfortunately I can't add it to my study spot rotation because of that but the coffee itself is wonderful. read more

I had one of the best avocado toasts ever. It was so beautifully presented on a wonderful crusty wheat toast with a perfectly sliced hard boiled egg and a healthy drizzle of balsamic. Along side it was a tasty salad that was almost too pretty to eat with arranged tiny tomatoes, thinly sliced cucumbers and a sprinkle of feta. I wish I had taken a picture. Guess I'll have to go back! Oh I did have coffee to go with...a piping hot Americana. It was great. The barista brought it all to my table because I'm a senior and use a walker. First of all, they got our order wrong. We ordered their strawberry shortcake matcha, and they made us a peaches and cream matcha instead. A lot of people ordered strawberry shortcake matcha, and not a single person ordered peaches and cream. So I don't know what's going on with that. The second thing was that their iced vanilla latte was very watered down. Whenever I go to try a new place, I always order at least one iced vanilla latte to see if they can do a simple standard drink. They failed to do that. The last notable thing was that there was a fly in their baked goods display case. I hope they notice this because you're not supposed to serve people food that's been contanminated by flies. Overall, I recommend just going to Volt Coffee, Tea & Tap instead of here. read more

I was really looking forward to trying out this new coffee shop in town - I ordered a slice of banana bread (warmed), breakfast sandwich, and blueberry vanilla latte. The food and latte were good, except the service could have significantly been better. The girl at the register asked another worker to grab the bread and warm it up and after about 10 minutes I asked if the bread was ready and they never actually grabbed it. Also, I waited for about 25+ minutes for my breakfast sandwich. There were about four ladies working and it looked sort of unorganized. I am deeply unsatisfied with my experience at World Traveler Coffee. I waited for 15 minutes for my Strawberry Shortcake Matcha, just for it to have clearly been rushed and not made properly. It looked completely different from the last one i had gotten from World Travelers a week earlier (which was good and a dollar cheaper, they raised the price and lowered the quality). The matcha was clumpy and discolored, and the strawberry mix was all stuck at the bottom which led to disportioned sips of matcha. I feel like I wasted $8 on matcha that was so bad I didn't even finish it and just threw it away. And when my friend ordered she ordered 2 of the same matcha's, but the cashier only rang her up for one, before paying she confirmed with the cashier that she had ordered two, which the cashier then confirmed (wrongly) that she ordered two. then 10 minutes later, the cashier realized her mistake and unprofessionally asked my friend to check her bank statements to see the charge, then promptly charged my friend for the second matcha, which was then rushed and made poorly. poor customer service and unprofessional. read more
