I recently went to Pushkin's Bakery in Midtown and overall it was a great find. One thing that really stands out is that everything is gluten free and dairy free, which is pretty amazing considering the variety of pastries they offer. I ordered my birthday cake from them and the presentation was exactly as expected. It looked beautiful and festive. The only thing I noticed was that it seemed like there was a bit more frosting than cake, but it was still enjoyable. I also tried their lemon bar, which was honestly insanely delicious. Definitely one of the highlights. The No Names were also really yummy. Overall, if you like trying unique bakeries or just really good bakeries in general, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. Service is 10/10

Gluten free everything? And it tastes amazingly scrumpdilocious!? Unheard of!! My bff is gluten free and I always feel bad how she has to limit herself ordering at a restaurant. Not at Pushkin, everything off the menu is gluten free with no sacrifice on flavor or moistness. The orange cardomom bread was insanely moist, crumbly, decadent, you could taste the orange and the cardamom it was a perfect flavor profile. The chocolate cupcake was so light and fluffy, incredible! I also tried the new yorker sandwich and the gluten free bread held together well and the toppings were plentiful, lots of meat! I am so impressed with Pushkins that I almost think this is as close as you get to modern day sorcery! Even us non gluten free mortals will be delighted to eat this all the time because it's just so delicious! Highly highly recommend!

Lovely bakery here in Sacramento. My family and I were greeted with a warm welcome upon walking in and we were asked if it was our first time visiting and were given a little information about the restaurant. We were excited to know that all their items were gluten and dairy free! We ordered a whole assortment of things and practically everything was delicious! A lot of my family didn't really like the blueberry muffin but I personally thought it was alright! Some of my favorite things were the No Name, Oatmeal Pie (not pictured), and the Blueberry Cinnamon Coffee cake. Definitely a must try bakery especially if you're looking for gluten & dairy free goods.

Gluten & dairy free heaven! The breakfast sandwich I just inhaled was divine. Lots of spinach and the bread was so soft and warm. The staff is extremely friendly and warm. The spot is small but gets the job done! Clean facility.

Got recommended by a coworker. Totally gluten free place is NOT free from flavors. The turkey bacon sandwich was filling and fresh. The employee were "spot on" in their recommendations. I had a shady tree outside to enjoy the lunch. Bike friendly.

We stopped at Pushkin's to grab ourselves some sweet treats. Parking was not ideal and we had to walk a few blocks, so be prepared for that. The cupcakes were delicious. I believe my favorite was a chocolate mint flavor and the other treats were nice as well. The cookies were a bit dry for me but otherwise it was quite enjoyable. I will definitely be back to try some more of their offerings soon.

First of all, the aroma of the bakery is tantalizing. Imagine a floating, drooling person making their way to the storefront, essentially. It's hard not to swing in every time you pass by. The no-names are one of the most interesting treats I've encountered. It's almost a hybrid of a cinnamon bun mochi bite, perfectly flavorful with such a unique texture, they're utterly addictive. I did add an egg to the sandwhich but was unfortunately forgotten, no biggie but definitely would've taken the breakfast sandwich to the next level. Will be back, of course, again & again & again &......

Opened as a result of Danny Turner's own Food-sensitivities Pushkin's Bakery has expanded from a single Chocolate Chip Cookie in 2013 to three locations, Olga Turner's taking on a growing need for better quality Pastries excluding wheat, gluten, and dairy. Sold in Sacramento, Arden, Roseville plus more than a dozen grocery stores it is at the original on 29th Street that guests will find friendly service plus fair prices covering Cookies, Cakes, Breads, Muffins and their famous "No Name" that eats like the buttery center of a Cinnamon Roll. Visited around 2pm Saturday, a good assortment of products still available, suffice it to say that Russian Tea Balls, essentially Mexican Wedding Cookies, lose nothing missing Flour while Crinkles and Mudpies are essentially the same save for a layer of Powdered Sugar. Smart to stick with items easily made Gluten-free, this writer admittedly harboring no allergies, Pushkin's Oatmeal Cream Pie Cookie fares beautifully with a lot of bright aromatics and flexibility around just enough filling.

Obsessed with the mudpie cookie- ooey, gooey, chocolatey brownie goodness in a cookie! It's perfectly chewy and chocolately. Cute location to enjoy a gluten free pastry with a coffee from Temple next door. Can't wait to try the other pastries!

This is what I was given last week for a grilled cheese sandwich. It was bread and pesto. I go in often, so today I showed the Team Lead and asked for a comp on today's order. She said that is the normal sandwich and there is nothing she can do because I didn't call that day and she doesn't know who to hold responsible in the kitchen. Shouldn't be my problem. No longer a customer.

    The peppy is delish!

Okayyyy gluten free peeps I see you! Was craving a sandwich and needed one ASAP; luckily, my wonderful husband recommended Pushkin's! Now I was doubtful at first. I can do gluten free desserts, but was wary about the bread part of the sandwich. Pushkin's was so good though! I opted for the "Peppy" and it was just my cup of tea! Sweet from the fig jam, fresh from the veggies! If you like a sweeter sandwich, this is right up your alley. The bread is different than what I'm used to but it did not distract from the overall great and filling sandwich. Solid price point too. Would definitely recommend if you need a sandwich (especially if you're gluten free) and are in the area. Yum!

I got the green turkey sandwich which was really good. I also got the blueberry cinnamon coffee cake which was very moist and perfectly flakey. I would definitely recommend trying it. The cashier was so nice and helped me pick out what I wanted based on the different things I wanted. The ambiance has no indoor seating but there are tables outside.

    Zucchini loaf - yummy!
    Simon W.

We tried 3 different items from this gluten-free bakery (that also has items which are vegan!). The zucchini loaf in particular was delicious. We also had a chocolate cupcake and chocolate chip muffin. All the treats were still moist the day after. The staff was knowledgeable about my food allergy questions. We wish this bakery was closer to home -- the prices were very reasonable for allergen-safe options.

I've been coming to Estelle's Bakery & Patisserie for years since I used to live only a block away,…read moreso it became one of my favorite places to walk to for tea and desserts. I've since moved out of state, but during my last visit in January this year, the treats and drinks were just as delicious as I remembered. This was always one of my favorite spots to spend a few hours catching up with girlfriends over tea and pastries. The ambience is lovely and gives off fancy tea party vibes, making it perfect for casual conversations, book discussions, or just relaxing with something sweet. My personal favorites are the rose macaron and the mont blanc desserts. If I'm feeling hungry, I usually order the ratatouille, and the vanilla bean French toast is amazing when I want something sweet but filling. Matcha is always my go-to drink here too (though it's on the sweet side, so I don't think it's ceremonial grade). I remember my first visit; It was when I stopped by later in the day looking for a birthday cake for my son's 8th birthday about five years ago. I ended up choosing their chocolate mousse cake on a whim since it was one of the cakes they still had on display, and it turned out to be a good decision. My son loved it, but it was too chocolatey for me so he ended up having most of the cake. Still one of the memories I remember most from here. It was something I kept in mind that if I wanted more options and variety, I should arrive earlier in the day. There are a few downsides that keep this from being a full 5 stars for me though. The parking lot is very small and street parking can be difficult, especially during busy hours. The place gets crowded very easily, which is why I usually preferred walking there when I lived nearby. There's often a guard stationed at the front kindly holding the door open, though I imagine that's also due to the neighborhood. Pricing is definitely on the expensive side, but honestly that's fairly expected with a patisserie. My biggest issue is that service can noticeably decline when they're overwhelmed. Depending on when you visit, the line can get absurdly long (almost out the front door), and I've experienced slower service and even had my drink mixed up with another customer's order once. Since I order oat milk due to lactose intolerance, getting the order correct is pretty important. Thankfully, when the bakery isn't overly busy and adequately staffed, the employees are attentive, friendly, and very helpful with the ordering process if you have questions. It is still one of the Sacramento bakeries I miss after moving away. It was so lovely to have a bakery down the street from home.

I dont have photos of what I got for valentines day but remmeber them being ok but nothing mind-blowing Maybe its just the DOCO one that sucks but I went to give them another chance the day before mother's day and sorely regretted it. I got the matcha croissant ive been hearing about, the new blueberry cream croissant and the mango passionfruit entremet. The Croissants were a huge flop. Blueberry had barely enough filling inside-the cream itself was tasty but croissant was rough in texture and not flaky. Matcha was a bit more flaky and had more filling-I wouldn't say GENEROUS amount as some have said but maybe I just got a bad one. The cream was too subtle -it was more like vanilla with a hint of matcha. The entremet was the only one that didnt suck-it was delicious but again I wouldn't say anywhere in Sacramento has wowed me yet with their entremets compared to places in the bay except for the ones that ginger Elizabeth has had in the past-the flavor itself was on point, i will say the texture of the entremets have a majority layer of the jelly part-if they could perfect the variety of layers you're supposed to get in each bite I would be more impressed as thats the whole point of enjoying an entremet. Honestly I should have just gotten one pastry to try in one day as they are pricey-i paid 31 not including the tip fot my pastries, and in this economy one cannot waste that much on disappointing sweet treats lol

I was unable to get the brown sugar biscuit shown on their instagram for the month of February so it's possible it sold out before I could place my order, so make sure to stay on top of that if you want a specific flavor! The biscuit sandwiches were pretty good but since the biscuits are so thick, it's a bit hard to eat as a sandwich. I basically just ate mine without the top half and then ate the top half separately after, with the delicious strawberry butter that I added to my order. If I could round up to 4.5 stars, I would, for that strawberry butter! The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because although they were good sandwiches, I wouldn't say it was anything too unique, especially at $13 for the most expensive sandwich (with andouille sausage) and $10 for the cheapest (egg and cheese). I wish I had gotten the chance to try the brown sugar biscuit because we only had plain and blueberry for ours, which seem to be more obtainable at other places. I want to try something more unique that would bring me back to this place only. I'll definitely keep an eye out because I want to try more of the different butter flavors and more biscuit flavors!
