A mud pie cookie is a perfectly acceptable breakfast item, and I will not be taking questions at this time. I stopped at Pushkin's Bakery with a friend one morning and went straight for the Mud Pie Cookie. Rich, decadent, intensely chocolatey, and somehow gone much too quickly. I probably should have ordered two. I also tried the Russian Tea Cookie, which is vegan and every bit as delicious. Buttery, crumbly, covered in powdered sugar, and simply divine. Everything at Pushkin's is gluten-free, but that's almost beside the point. These are just really good baked goods, period. The display case is dangerously tempting, the service was quick and friendly, and I loved the refreshingly no-fuss atmosphere. Come in, choose your carb, be happy. Next time, I'm branching out from dessert-for-breakfast territory and trying one of their sandwiches. Although realistically, I'll probably still leave with a cookie. read more

Messy sandwiches FTW! The smoked avocado sandwich is my go-to bc it's delicious, especially the bread...but you've been warned, it's messy with the smashed avocado and cream cheese. I've been here a few times and love their pastries, my favorites are the mud pie cookie and oatmeal cream pie cookie-thingy. Coffees are just okay, and I wish they had more sugar-free options for my husband. Also, please get Wi-Fi! I'd love to work here, but I'm stuck using my phone hotspot. Still, the staff is always nice and patient, and I'll definitely keep coming back for the treats! read more

Really enjoyed stopping by here for some pastries & flour. I would say the location is really small so it's more of a grab & go. They have an outdoor patio area where you can enjoy your goodies. The staff was really welcoming & helpful. They had a large selection of pastries & sweets available that all looked really good! read more

Stopped here to get a quick bite to eat and they have a lot of dietary accommodations. Very quick service and friendly front end staff. I love that they promote individuality amongst the staff and it seems like a very positive environment. Food was alright. But I also ate it cold after getting it to go so that's probably more on me. Great baked goods selection and great comprehensive menu for a variety of tastes read more

I have a good friend who has celiac disease (legitimately, diagnosed, MUST be "gluten free"!) I always go to Pushkin's Bakery to accommodate his gluten-free diet. Pushkin's always have "a little something-something" that I can pickup for my gluten-free friend. Their variety of selection is wonderful! Thank you! read more

Alright, so Pushkin's is pretty cool for those of us with dietary restrictions. I'm vegan, so of course I love a bakery with more than like, one option, and Pushkin's delivers on that front. On a recent visit, I asked what was a popular choice and that's how I ended up with a barracuda cupcake, which was pretty delicious. I also got a "breakfast" sandwich, the #4, which sort of tasted like a non-breakfast sandwich, but whatever. It was spicy and tasty, but nothing to write home about. Luckily there is a whole vegan menu, so I would happily try another sandwich on a return visit. I also love that this place charges extra to sub meat, and not to sub vegan (which is how it should be, frankly). The spot itself is small, with not a lot of seating, which makes it better as a place to grab stuff to go. The downside of this is that parking is absolutely terrible, so I ended up parking four or five blocks away. read more

I recently went to Pushkin's Bakery in Midtown and overall it was a great find. One thing that really stands out is that everything is gluten free and dairy free, which is pretty amazing considering the variety of pastries they offer. I ordered my birthday cake from them and the presentation was exactly as expected. It looked beautiful and festive. The only thing I noticed was that it seemed like there was a bit more frosting than cake, but it was still enjoyable. I also tried their lemon bar, which was honestly insanely delicious. Definitely one of the highlights. The No Names were also really yummy. Overall, if you like trying unique bakeries or just really good bakeries in general, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. Service is 10/10 read more

Lovely bakery here in Sacramento. My family and I were greeted with a warm welcome upon walking in and we were asked if it was our first time visiting and were given a little information about the restaurant. We were excited to know that all their items were gluten and dairy free! We ordered a whole assortment of things and practically everything was delicious! A lot of my family didn't really like the blueberry muffin but I personally thought it was alright! Some of my favorite things were the No Name, Oatmeal Pie (not pictured), and the Blueberry Cinnamon Coffee cake. Definitely a must try bakery especially if you're looking for gluten & dairy free goods. read more

Gluten free everything? And it tastes amazingly scrumpdilocious!? Unheard of!! My bff is gluten free and I always feel bad how she has to limit herself ordering at a restaurant. Not at Pushkin, everything off the menu is gluten free with no sacrifice on flavor or moistness. The orange cardomom bread was insanely moist, crumbly, decadent, you could taste the orange and the cardamom it was a perfect flavor profile. The chocolate cupcake was so light and fluffy, incredible! I also tried the new yorker sandwich and the gluten free bread held together well and the toppings were plentiful, lots of meat! I am so impressed with Pushkins that I almost think this is as close as you get to modern day sorcery! Even us non gluten free mortals will be delighted to eat this all the time because it's just so delicious! Highly highly recommend! read more

Love the name! My mom used to read me Pushkin when I was young young. I've been here twice- mini inside of cinnamon roll, full size and recently the oat cookie sandwich. All looked delectable but my goodness, sweetness overload. First bite, all I taste is sugar. 2nd bite- sugar. I just didn't find them too palatable to eat all at once, despite being on the smaller end. And I LOVE sweets, but these were overkill on the sugar. Iono. Sadly I'll pass despite wanting to come in each time I go to sac co op. read more

We stopped at Pushkin's to grab ourselves some sweet treats. Parking was not ideal and we had to walk a few blocks, so be prepared for that. The cupcakes were delicious. I believe my favorite was a chocolate mint flavor and the other treats were nice as well. The cookies were a bit dry for me but otherwise it was quite enjoyable. I will definitely be back to try some more of their offerings soon. read more

In short: -Hole in the wall bakery - gf df pastries and sandwiches - friendly staff - Tasty treats This is a tiny hole in the wall bakery right next to the Sacramento food coop. Parking is very limited unless you park at the food Coop. Stopped by here the other day for the first time since my sister was in town and she is gf and df. She got 3 pastries and seem to enjoy them all. I got a blueberry cinnamon coffee cake and thought it was tasty, moist on the inside but crumbly on top but would prob try a blackberry vanilla scone next time or something else since everything looked so good! I'd stop by again to try another yummy pastry. Def when I'm doing a gluten free and dairy free diet or if you have celiac or an allergy to dairy since they use almond milk. Dang, I forgot to snap a picture! Next time My friend said the breakfast sandwiches are really good too fyi. I'd like to try their bakery in Roseville with a larger menu read more

Opened as a result of Danny Turner's own Food-sensitivities Pushkin's Bakery has expanded from a single Chocolate Chip Cookie in 2013 to three locations, Olga Turner's taking on a growing need for better quality Pastries excluding wheat, gluten, and dairy. Sold in Sacramento, Arden, Roseville plus more than a dozen grocery stores it is at the original on 29th Street that guests will find friendly service plus fair prices covering Cookies, Cakes, Breads, Muffins and their famous "No Name" that eats like the buttery center of a Cinnamon Roll. Visited around 2pm Saturday, a good assortment of products still available, suffice it to say that Russian Tea Balls, essentially Mexican Wedding Cookies, lose nothing missing Flour while Crinkles and Mudpies are essentially the same save for a layer of Powdered Sugar. Smart to stick with items easily made Gluten-free, this writer admittedly harboring no allergies, Pushkin's Oatmeal Cream Pie Cookie fares beautifully with a lot of bright aromatics and flexibility around just enough filling. read more

Absolutely out of this world food! My mom with celiac disease and myself with a dairy allergy were thriving here! We got their turkey sandwiches and the bread didn't even taste gf it was so fluffy! I added their cashew pepper jack cheese to mine and it added the most wonderful hint of spice that leveled up the sandwich completely. We also picked up some No Names, an Awesome, and a few other goodies. All are absolutely spectacular, make sure not to miss out on the best pastries by going too late! Super friendly staff and a cute little interior, 5/5 stars for sure! read more

First of all, the aroma of the bakery is tantalizing. Imagine a floating, drooling person making their way to the storefront, essentially. It's hard not to swing in every time you pass by. The no-names are one of the most interesting treats I've encountered. It's almost a hybrid of a cinnamon bun mochi bite, perfectly flavorful with such a unique texture, they're utterly addictive. I did add an egg to the sandwhich but was unfortunately forgotten, no biggie but definitely would've taken the breakfast sandwich to the next level. Okayyyy gluten free peeps I see you! Was craving a sandwich and needed one ASAP; luckily, my wonderful husband recommended Pushkin's! Now I was doubtful at first. I can do gluten free desserts, but was wary about the bread part of the sandwich. Pushkin's was so good though! I opted for the "Peppy" and it was just my cup of tea! Sweet from the fig jam, fresh from the veggies! If you like a sweeter sandwich, this is right up your alley. The bread is different than what I'm used to but it did not distract from the overall great and filling sandwich. Solid price point too. Would definitely recommend if you need a sandwich (especially if you're gluten free) and are in the area. Yum! read more

GF Sacramento, y'all are so lucky to have Pushkin's. Stopped in for some treats and was blown away. Since being diagnosed with Celiac disease, it's been difficult. I live in a small town a couple of hours from Sac and the only "gluten free" place is In & Out Burger. And it's a 50/50 chance you'll get glutened. Felt like a kid again no joke. And not only was everything dedicated gluten free, but absolutely delicious! Cinnamon roll was fantastic. So were these small little pockets of joy, can't remember the names. Breakfast sandwich was flavorful. Usually gf baked goods are dried out hockey pucks. Everything I ordered was full of moist wonder. Excited to go back, definitely worth a special trip. Please continue to support Pushkin's bakery! Such a gem read more

I got the green turkey sandwich which was really good. I also got the blueberry cinnamon coffee cake which was very moist and perfectly flakey. I would definitely recommend trying it. We tried 3 different items from this gluten-free bakery (that also has items which are vegan!). The zucchini loaf in particular was delicious. Pushkin's Bakery has a great vegan-friendly menu, especially for breakfast and brunch. The breakfast sandwiches are really good, the pancakes are solid, and I love that they even offer vegan pastries -- which isn't always easy to find. It's a nice spot to go for brunch or breakfast, whether you're vegan or not. The breakfast sandwiches were my favorite, and the hashbrowns are smacking. Best vegan gluten free cupcakes and baked goods. I've ever had, and they sell gluten free flour as well.

Same old, lame ingredients (gluten free cupcakes, bread just not that good. They always use a ton of sugar so if you're diabetic/pre-diabetic just be careful. Always expensive. On July 29, I visited Pushkin's bakery in Roseville to pick up some pastries. Decided to stay for lunch and ordered the turkey bacon sandwich. What a disappointment! There was less than 1/8 inch of turkey and over an inch of lettuce. The pastries are delicious, but I won't be going back for any sandwiches. read more

Went by Pushkin's Bakery for Mother's Day! My mom likes to try vegan treats so I figured this is the perfect spot to pick up breakfast. I was afraid it was going to be really busy and limited parking since it's in Midtown, but I ended up finding a spot pretty easily on the street. There was a bit of a crowd outside the shop and a line inside but it went by super quickly. I probably spent a total of 10 minutes visiting. It's definitely more of a takeout format. They had many options but definitely less vegan options than regular options. They were also out of a few treats, and i arrived about 30 minutes after they opened. Just something to consider! I ended up getting 4 goodies (total $16 ish). I got the blueberry lemon muffin, strawberry cobbler cupcake, cinnamon roll, and apple muffin. All of them were delish! I love that you can tell how fresh they are. Consistency was always fluffy, and the flavor was never too sweet. Perfection. My favorite has to be the apple muffin. Keep in mind, only the blue berry lemon poppy muffin was vegan from my purchase. I look forward to ordering here again and trying more treats! read more
