I've had plenty of miso caramel lattes and what I love about it is a good contrast of your savory/salt you get from the miso paste and something sweet like caramel. What I'm missing is the sweet. Don't get me wrong I don't love things overly sweet but it lacks enough caramel to have a good juxtaposition because I got mostly salt and savory. If I order this in the future I would just ask for maybe a little more caramel. The star of the coffees was the Pandan latte. Pandan is green and reinforces a coconut type of flavor. It's bold enough with out feeling like it's over wheeling in syrup, so they balance it well. The plus is texture when they include a coconut toffee on top. Which apparently they make in house (per the barista). Staff was super friendly and helpful and the coffee came out ok about 8ish minutes.

I'm kind of sad that I live so far away from it. I'd be there every week. Bonus: they have food trucks in the parking lot. So grab some food while you're at it.

As a self acclaimed coffee "snob" in-training it was a huge plus to see them roasting their own beans. I knew the coffee was gonna be good. I got the vanilla lavender earl grey cold foam latte which was a seasonal drink and it was very good. I also got a savory breakfast croissant which I gobbled down before I could take a picture. I got the Coconut Blue Cloud Matcha. Before I even taste the drink, it is gorgeous! Probably the most beautiful drink I have ever seen. It's green matcha foam on top, then this bright blue liquid and white/milk bottom. Once you mix it, it becomes a turquois color. It also taste really good. Refreshing coconut milk/water, subtle sweetness (70% sugar) and strong matcha. When you get to the bottom, you get the bits of coconut. I don't live near Davis but I would definitely come again the next time I am in the area.

This "Molly Tea" is not the same as the Bay Area's (no store listed in Davis on the official Molly Tea website) and is also known as "jasmine tea house" on Google Maps which confused me. Walking in there was a very unpleasant smell, almost like bleach/chlorine mixed with jasmine tea fragrance. (Not great!) We sat outside. However the drinks were not bad. Not as "presentable" as the authentic Molly Tea (no fancy straw or seal), but the osmanthus oolong milk tea was on par taste wise. Overall, it's a good "knock off molly tea" and satisfied our boba craving. It's good enough for Davis but def lacks the polish of real Molly Tea's.

The comfortable atmosphere saves this establishment from 1 star. Dim lights, leather couches, chill music, and colorful tiki wall art make for a decent study spot or date night. However, if you're hanging out at a business, you gotta support it, and to support it, you gotta buy something -- I can't see myself buying anything kava-related with any ounce of enjoyment. Surely there must be some variation of a kava drink that tastes delightful. I don't want to spend any more money finding out though.

When you first walk into the cafe you'll see the food case just to your left. It is filled with cafe items such as croissants, muffins, and cookies. There are savory items as well as sweet. I found the quality of the food here to be quite good and unique. Sometimes cafe food just feels like it came from somewhere else, but even if these did, they have a uniqueness about them. For example, the chocolate croissant is very flakey with a good amount of chocolate in the interior. It really surprised me! I also found the ham and cheese croissant to be very rich in flavor. My only gripe about either or these items was the heating method. I'm not sure how they are heated up, but they feel as though they used one of those quick heaters to quickly get them ready rather than a good toaster to get the items nice and crisp. As good as they are they were a bit limp due to the heating method. In terms of coffee, it's perfectly adequate. They have special offerings as well as their traditional menu. I found the coffee to be mild and friendly. It's not too strong nor very unique. It's just a solid cup. Sometimes that's really all you need.
