    Pandan Matcha

Got a small pandan matcha as I was enticed by the photos, but unfortunately it was quite underwhelming. The matcha flavor was too light, and the drink ended up just tasting like watery milk with a hint of matcha. The only thing saving the drink were the toffee crumbs on top which were quite enjoyable. They made my drink within a minute or two. The speed was definitely appreciated but makes me question whether it's freshly whisked. Place is very spacious and has lots of natural lighting. Definitely a place that looks great for studying!

visited frenzy's today and loved it!!! decided to study here with some friends and honestly had a great time. the parking lot is SMALL and half of it is used for residents. the cafe is big and spacious, it was a sleek modern look with a touch of whimsy! the service was on the slower side with 2 people working a morning rush but i didn't mind! the mango matcha has mango puree, milk, matcha (junbi) and honey. i opted for no honey and it was the PERFECT amount of sweetness! the matcha had a good earthy umami flavor as well. it wasn't grainy at all either. perfect ambiance studying with large groups but it's definitely on the louder side of study cafes. 10/10 study spot with friends and will be back!!!

Love this spot! The place is huge with a good amount kf tables to sit. The barista with blue hair was super kind and was happy to answer my many questions. Matcha quality was great. I like my matcha sweeter and they have a self serve simple syrup bottle if you'd like to customize the sweetness.

Came here a little while ago to study and the vibes are impeccable! I love what they've done with the space. It's spacious and bright inside. Downside is that there doesn't seem to be AC, so it was quite warm inside. I ordered a matcha pandan which I noticed was whisked fresh. The drink featured a house-made pandan syrup and was topped with latik (a Filipino ingredient often used in desserts and is cooked down coconut-milk). I was super impressed by their latik! It tasted legit but was crispy and not oily which is not the usual for latik. Overall, the matcha was subtle in flavor, but the drink made for a nice study treat! I ordered one to take home. I requested they take out the ice, so it didn't get watered down. Without having to ask, they put the latik in a separate cup, so it didn't get soggy on the road. Amazing service!

Went here for the first time during a soccer tournament in Davis and was happy to have found a great coffee/matcha spot. The customer service was great and the two guys in the back made some excellent coffee and matcha. The Pandan coffee wasn't too sweet or over powering, the same goes for the matcha. Thanks again team for great service and drinks. Until next time.

Stopped in on an early Saturday morning to grab a cup of coffee. It wasn't too busy. Plenty of seating. There's limited spaces for parking in their lot as it's shared but there's street parking. Coffee was good. They sell merchandise as well. They have a community bulletin for resources. You might find something you're looking for

While in Davis we decided to stop by Frenzy Coffee. It was super crowded. Every table was taken ranging from students to adults. Even a couple of dogs. It was also very warm inside. We decided to try their Miso Caramel Latte & my daughter ordered a Decaf Vanilla Latte. Our drinks took awhile to be made. And after one sip, we both threw our drinks away. The coffee tasted burnt. And I personally wasn't a fan of the miso flavor in my coffee.

This cafe is so nice! Having a big, well-lit space is such a plus for Davis! And to top it off with good coffee is just unbelievable. I was actually searching for a place that had pandan and then stumbled upon Frenzy Coffee. They have a very small and tight parking lot, but street parking is also abundant. What a great place to lounge, catch up with friends, or do some studying.

Nice interior, quick preparation, decent coffee! I liked the hot pandan latte. Tasted kinda like Raisin Bran lol The miso caramel latte was okay. Slightly bland unfortunately. Good place for students

OBSESSED. This place is spacious and super cute! The perfect place to study, chillax, or hang out. They have plenty of seating with outlets!!! The baristas mentioned that coffee drinks might take a bit longer to make because something was off with their coffee machine, but I still felt like we got our drinks in a timely manner! I got the pandan latte and it's an easy 5/5. I loooooooved the pandan flavor, it was delicious and not overbearing or overly sweet - it was perfect! I would definitely get that drink again and come here again.

Matcha Latte & Miso Caramel Matcha Latte

I've tried the miso caramel coffee latte before and was wondering how that combo would work for a matcha! The baristas were all very nice in giving their recommendations and insight about this combo as it's not a commonly ordered item. They all seem to genuinely care about the quality of the drinks which was really refreshing! The miso caramel matcha itself is definitely more suited for those who like miso. But it helps bring out the umami and nuttiness in the matcha. I wish it had a tad bit more caramel in it but overall, I'm glad I got to experience this combo! Frenzy's matchas definitely run on the less sweet side but they provide additional syrup that you can adjust to your taste!

The Matcha Pandan Latte (hot). A match made in green heaven.

The absolute best new coffee shop in Davis. From study space to hangout spot, Frenzy's got it covered and does so with an aesthetic, vibrant, and innovative enthusiasm. The Matcha Pandan Latte (hot) is exceptional, the subtle sweetness of the pandan rounds out any bitter or grassy notes from the matcha perfectly. A match made in green heaven. The Miso Caramel Latte is fantastic for those who don't like their lattes too sweet. A surprising combination of umami and caffeine that works well, though it may not be for everyone. Baristas are friendly, great service.

Love the open concept - probably one of the bigger cafe spaces in Davis. The pandan matcha was not too sweet, on the earthy side but still light, and had a nice toffee crumble on top that added fun textures. I do wish the flavors were a bit bolder, but it was a solid 4 out of 5 in my book.

iced matcha pandan latte, good quality strong matcha but pandan wasn't for me

So ofc when I was in town, I had to try it. This "Molly Tea" is not the same as the Bay Area's (no store listed in Davis on the official Molly Tea website) and is also known as "jasmine tea house" on Google Maps which confused me. Walking in there was a very unpleasant smell, almost like bleach/chlorine mixed with jasmine tea fragrance. (Not great!) We sat outside. However the drinks were not bad. Not as "presentable" as the authentic Molly Tea (no fancy straw or seal), but the osmanthus oolong milk tea was on par taste wise. Overall, it's a good "knock off molly tea" and satisfied our boba craving. It's good enough for Davis but def lacks the polish of real Molly Tea's.

The comfortable atmosphere saves this establishment from 1 star. Dim lights, leather couches, chill music, and colorful tiki wall art make for a decent study spot or date night. There is a lot of table space in the cafe and when UC Davis is in session, I've found many of the tables to be occupied by students doing just that. Mishka's Cafe has been around since 1995 and is a beloved place in Davis. It's a traditional cafe that has a welcoming atmosphere. When you first walk into the cafe you'll see the food case just to your left. It is filled with cafe items such as croissants, muffins, and cookies. There are savory items as well as sweet. I found the quality of the food here to be quite good and unique. Sometimes cafe food just feels like it came from somewhere else, but even if these did, they have a uniqueness about them. For example, the chocolate croissant is very flakey with a good amount of chocolate in the interior. It really surprised me! I also found the ham and cheese croissant to be very rich in flavor. My only gripe about either or these items was the heating method. I'm not sure how they are heated up, but they feel as though they used one of those quick heaters to quickly get them ready rather than a good toaster to get the items nice and crisp. As good as they are they were a bit limp due to the heating method. In terms of coffee, it's perfectly adequate. They have special offerings as well as their traditional menu. I found the coffee to be mild and friendly. It's not too strong nor very unique. It's just a solid cup. Sometimes that's really all you need.
