Stopped in here to grab a morning coffee and grab something to eat. It wasn't a far walk from my hotel, and based on their Yelp page, I saw they had indoor seating and outlets to plug your computer in. When I arrived it was pretty quiet. The space is larger than I anticipated, which was nice. I checked out their specials and opted to order their olive latte (it was made with olive oil). I was hoping they had some type of pastry, but alas, nothing except a few prepackaged bars. Once I got my latte, I took a seat. The latte was OK. pachamama is located in downtown davis on a corner lot, and i've tried them a few times. parking can be difficult, but that's kinda everywhere in downtown. on my first visit i tried their pandan matcha. they do have seasonal drinks that rotate pretty fast, so i love that there's always something new to try. their pandan matcha was sooooo good, a perfect balance of each flavor. i went back for their gingerbread brulee a few months later, and again was pleasantly surprised. their drinks are so creamy, and on the sweeter side i'd say. most recently i tried their salted dulce de leche latte, and this was by far my favorite. you could taste the caramel so well, and i did like that i could taste the salt too, it offered a nice balance. i will say, out of the three times that i've visited, the baristas and cashiers all seem a little rude? and not very friendly? i thought it might've just been a one time thing, but it's happened every time where i go back and i'm standing in front of the counter waiting to order while the baristas and cashiers chat or sneak snarky looks. i do understand they might be college students, but i would love it if they were a little more friendly. read more

(Weekdays are a bit less crowded depending on time of day..) Ordered 12 ounce iced mocha latte with oat milk. In my experience, I order the drinks on the regular menu over the specialty ones on the sign boards. In the handful of times I've visited, the taste on the regular menu drinks seem to be more consistent. The specialty drinks can be a hit or miss. If it's a miss, tell an employee as they seem to be open to great making adjustments if customers give feedback. I been coming to Pachamama for a very long time, the Davis location is my newest morning stop! Their coffee is top tier and is sourced from the best places around the world, as well as Organic and farm owned as they say! Clean establishment, very simple menu! Love their seasonal menus! They craft some good drinks! They do have a point system where you can redeem "seeds"! And my ice mocha was free today! Customer service at every location is wonderful! Honestly, Pachamama had always been toward the bottom of my coffee shop list... until recently. I like their seasonal menu, some more than others. I appreciate that they try to come up with different drinks but sometimes they can be a little too experimental and they don't end up tasting that great IMO. I also think the quality of the drinks vary on which barista is preparing the order. I've recently been enjoying 80% of the drinks I've ordered here. My bf and I have also started purchasing the ground coffee from here which comes with a free drink, so that's been nice and the fact they do have a variety of ground coffee for a reasonable price. read more

Checked out Pachamama's Davis location after trying the midtown location the day before! Anytime I'm on the hunt for matcha it has to be Banana if it's an option which they have on their seasonal menu at both locations and I was curious to compare. The one I received at this location was much sweeter which I actually enjoyed which might've been because I got the smaller size but nonetheless I was super pleased! The barista at the register was super friendly and welcoming despite it being super early in the morning and the vibe was smaller but still felt as good as the midtown location. The baristas were friendly and chatted with me and the other customers. I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and took a seat. There is plenty of seating inside, though only a portion of it is accessible to the counter, so most people wait for their drinks there before moving to a different part of the store. It is well-lit and not too loud, and has plenty of windows facing downtown for those who enjoy people watching. I came across this cute coffee shop while searching for a good matcha place in Davis so shout out Yelp for the great recommendation! It's located a little on the outskirts of downtown Davis so parking wasn't too hectic on a Friday afternoon. The inside is very spacious with ample seating and charging spaces for study-goers. The inside also has a nature-y atmosphere to it as the many windows allow in natural lighting and there's also a lot of plant decorations. The bathroom is located in a separate hallway that's connected to the other businesses so be sure to ask for a code! As for the service, the baristas were super helpful and quick to make drinks! While driving to San Francisco with some friends, we decided we needed to stop for coffee and Davis was the perfect spot. We decided on Pachamama Coffee as I have never visited before -- I know there a couple of locations throughout Sacramento as well. I'm always a fan of a seasonal menu so I picked the Maple Brulee and it was very good! It was the perfect pick-me-up for our Girls Night. My friends liked their drinks as well. When my friend and I ordered, the staff treated us very coldly. There was no smile or small conversation, and we felt unwelcome. My friend ordered a regular iced matcha latte, and we both asked for oat milk in our drinks. I felt like the matcha quality wasn't great, and the flavor was dull. The blueberry syrup was also too sweet. I'm not sure if they do sweetness adjustments, but I would definitely recommend asking if you get this drink! I feel like this experience made me rethink revisiting this cafe in the future. I had never thought too much about the service here, but knowing that it frustrated someone I cared about made me reflect on my previous visits. The barista proceeded to lie when I asked him why he put a splash of oat milk in my whole milk latte. I don't drink oat milk and I prefaced this while ordering. I'm all about Pachamama!! This coffee shop is 100% Farmer owned and governed. Every single drink I've had has been winners!! I just love driving into this university community. It's so walkable, you must have a drink in hand! So, stop by Pachamama and enjoy the scenery! We live in Vegas, but fly into Sacramento about every quarter to visit family in the East Bay. I discovered this cafe right here through Yelp (there are other locations)! Since the city of Davis is the halfway point, we always stop in for a cup of coffee or a specialty drink. I recently tried two drinks off of their Spring Menu: Cardamom Rose Latte (hot) and Lavender Latte (cold). Highly recommend the rose latte! Radiant, romantic, and rich! Everything the display board described, and more!! The lavender latte...would likely order this again, but hot. The ice watered down the flavors a bit. Nevertheless, it paired nicely with my dark chocolate snacks. Last Fall, we thoroughly enjoyed a warm cup of Apple Hill Cider and Honey Bear Latte (cute beverage name!). Coffee drinks only. No food on the menu. Service is always kind. Enjoy your coffee inside as there is counter seating along the perimeter, or outside on the bistro tables. Pachamama in Davis never has enough staff. I waited 20 minutes in line to order coffee and was then told they needed to focus on making drinks and would not take my order. Unfortunately, this is why people go to Peet's Starbucks. At least you can get an order within 20 minutes instead of not even being able to order after 20 minutes. It's a shame that management is trying to cut corners on staffing while still charging almost 8 dollars for a latte. If you're looking for a non-chain coffee shop, I would highly recommend Temple. I was slightly underwhelmed by this spot. My maple almond milk latte was good, but not the best I've had. The staff seemed a little aloof and almost annoyed by their customers. I enjoy coffee, and was excited before I arrived to see their coffee comes from a farmer-owned collective, but the vibe I got from the staff made me not want to ask any questions. (It could have just been an off day for them, food service is tough work.) They mostly serve coffee drinks, plus hot chocolate (not sure if they have tea.)
