Intrigued by their Miso Carmel Latte, I stopped by Frenzy Coffee while in Davis. They have a small lot. Interior is bright and open, several people were working / on their computers inside. Couldn't really taste any miso and the coffee seemed to have a bit of a burnt after taste. Presentation was nice. Even though we're into summer, they are still displaying their spring specials menu. Not sure I would rush to be back, but nice to try a new coffee shop in Davis.

Got a small pandan matcha as I was enticed by the photos, but unfortunately it was quite underwhelming. The matcha flavor was too light, and the drink ended up just tasting like watery milk with a hint of matcha. The only thing saving the drink were the toffee crumbs on top which were quite enjoyable. They made my drink within a minute or two. The speed was definitely appreciated but makes me question whether it's freshly whisked. Place is very spacious and has lots of natural lighting. Definitely a place that looks great for studying!

Stopped in for quick coffee because the menu looks unique. Moderate sized shop with plenty of seats for those who are here to do some work or study. Came in specifically for the Miso caramel latte and Pandan Latte. I've had plenty of miso caramel lattes and what I love about it is a good contrast of your savory/salt you get from the miso paste and something sweet like caramel. What I'm missing is the sweet. Don't get me wrong I don't love things overly sweet but it lacks enough caramel to have a good juxtaposition because I got mostly salt and savory. If I order this in the future I would just ask for maybe a little more caramel. The star of the coffees was the Pandan latte. Pandan is green and reinforces a coconut type of flavor. It's bold enough with out feeling like it's over wheeling in syrup, so they balance it well. The plus is texture when they include a coconut toffee on top. Which apparently they make in house (per the barista). Staff was super friendly and helpful and the coffee came out ok about 8ish minutes.

Love this spot! The place is huge with a good amount kf tables to sit. The barista with blue hair was super kind and was happy to answer my many questions. Matcha quality was great. I like my matcha sweeter and they have a self serve simple syrup bottle if you'd like to customize the sweetness.

Came here a little while ago to study and the vibes are impeccable! I love what they've done with the space. It's spacious and bright inside. Downside is that there doesn't seem to be AC, so it was quite warm inside. I ordered a matcha pandan which I noticed was whisked fresh. The drink featured a house-made pandan syrup and was topped with latik (a Filipino ingredient often used in desserts and is cooked down coconut-milk). I was super impressed by their latik! It tasted legit but was crispy and not oily which is not the usual for latik. Overall, the matcha was subtle in flavor, but the drink made for a nice study treat! I ordered one to take home. I requested they take out the ice, so it didn't get watered down. Without having to ask, they put the latik in a separate cup, so it didn't get soggy on the road. Amazing service!

While in Davis we decided to stop by Frenzy Coffee. It was super crowded. Every table was taken ranging from students to adults. Even a couple of dogs. It was also very warm inside. We decided to try their Miso Caramel Latte & my daughter ordered a Decaf Vanilla Latte. Our drinks took awhile to be made. And after one sip, we both threw our drinks away. The coffee tasted burnt. And I personally wasn't a fan of the miso flavor in my coffee.

Stopped in on an early Saturday morning to grab a cup of coffee. It wasn't too busy. Plenty of seating. There's limited spaces for parking in their lot as it's shared but there's street parking. Coffee was good. They sell merchandise as well. They have a community bulletin for resources. You might find something you're looking for

I'm a matcha lover and can tell they have quality matcha powder because the drinks come out a nice shade of green and tastes smooth. They recently released a Black Sesame Matcha for the winter season, I enjoyed the sesame cream top, it had an earthy/nutty flavor with a hint of sweetness. I wish I sweetened my matcha a little bit more to balance the sesame/matcha. You can ask the barista to customize your sweetness preference or there's also self service simple syrup. The Hojicha Latte lightly sweetened was also super yummy! Honorable mention of the Calamansi Matcha Tonic from the summer menu, it was refreshing on a hot day! Looking forward to see what specialty drinks they'll release in the future and can't wait to try the rest of their menu including the coffee. Also such a cute vibe! It's spacious, good lighting, and not to mention the variety of seating options & strategically placed plugs for charging. The ambiance is perfect for getting some work done.

visited frenzy's today and loved it!!! decided to study here with some friends and honestly had a great time. the parking lot is SMALL and half of it is used for residents. the cafe is big and spacious, it was a sleek modern look with a touch of whimsy! the service was on the slower side with 2 people working a morning rush but i didn't mind! the mango matcha has mango puree, milk, matcha (junbi) and honey. i opted for no honey and it was the PERFECT amount of sweetness! the matcha had a good earthy umami flavor as well. it wasn't grainy at all either. perfect ambiance studying with large groups but it's definitely on the louder side of study cafes. 10/10 study spot with friends and will be back!!!

Nice interior, quick preparation, decent coffee! I liked the hot pandan latte. Tasted kinda like Raisin Bran lol The miso caramel latte was okay. Slightly bland unfortunately. Good place for students

OBSESSED. This place is spacious and super cute! The perfect place to study, chillax, or hang out. They have plenty of seating with outlets!!! The baristas mentioned that coffee drinks might take a bit longer to make because something was off with their coffee machine, but I still felt like we got our drinks in a timely manner! I got the pandan latte and it's an easy 5/5. I loooooooved the pandan flavor, it was delicious and not overbearing or overly sweet - it was perfect! I would definitely get that drink again and come here again.

Went here for the first time during a soccer tournament in Davis and was happy to have found a great coffee/matcha spot. The customer service was great and the two guys in the back made some excellent coffee and matcha. The Pandan coffee wasn't too sweet or over powering, the same goes for the matcha. Thanks again team for great service and drinks. Until next time.

This cafe is so nice! Having a big, well-lit space is such a plus for Davis! And to top it off with good coffee is just unbelievable. I was actually searching for a place that had pandan and then stumbled upon Frenzy Coffee. They have a very small and tight parking lot, but street parking is also abundant. What a great place to lounge, catch up with friends, or do some studying.

Perhaps those sensations would have paid off if they were followed by a calming or THC-like effect, but I didn't experience any change in mental state. The comfortable atmosphere saves this establishment from 1 star. Dim lights, leather couches, chill music, and colorful tiki wall art make for a decent study spot or date night. However, if you're hanging out at a business, you gotta support it, and to support it, you gotta buy something -- I can't see myself buying anything kava-related with any ounce of enjoyment. Surely there must be some variation of a kava drink that tastes delightful. I don't want to spend any more money finding out though.

There is a lot of table space in the cafe and when UC Davis is in session, I've found many of the tables to be occupied by students doing just that. Mishka's Cafe has been around since 1995 and is a beloved place in Davis. It's a traditional cafe that has a welcoming atmosphere. When you first walk into the cafe you'll see the food case just to your left. It is filled with cafe items such as croissants, muffins, and cookies. There are savory items as well as sweet. I found the quality of the food here to be quite good and unique. Sometimes cafe food just feels like it came from somewhere else, but even if these did, they have a uniqueness about them. For example, the chocolate croissant is very flakey with a good amount of chocolate in the interior. It really surprised me! I also found the ham and cheese croissant to be very rich in flavor. My only gripe about either or these items was the heating method. I'm not sure how they are heated up, but they feel as though they used one of those quick heaters to quickly get them ready rather than a good toaster to get the items nice and crisp. As good as they are they were a bit limp due to the heating method. In terms of coffee, it's perfectly adequate. They have special offerings as well as their traditional menu. I found the coffee to be mild and friendly. It's not too strong nor very unique. It's just a solid cup. Sometimes that's really all you need.

On average it takes around 22 minutes to get there from Sacramento. Parking can be a challenge. There is some street parking, but I prefer to park in one of their lots. The lot I choose has 3 hour 3 parking. Tea List is hidden down a pathway behind Pence Gallery, one of our favorite Galleries to visit. If you don't know it's there you may never find it. I found them googling high tea salon in the area. It's the only high tea salon for miles that I'm aware of. Granted there are lots of tea and boba shops around, but those are not the same as having high or afternoon tea. For variety we used to go to a Tea Salon in SF's Japantown, but they have since closes so we are very limited on High Tea salons. We've been coming here for years and we have a great experience every time we do. To me Tea List is a special occasion place and this being a special occasion we popped in. To my happy surprise they were still open and seating was available. There were several tables open when we arrived and 5 tables were in different stages of their tea parties. In the past I've always made reservations a week in advance. When we walked in we were informed that they were only serving their 4 different tea service options. They sometimes serve individual items, but I've never gone when that was an options so that is a little mystery to me as to when you can offer individual items instead of ordering a whole tea service. I ordered us the Afternoon Tee for $27.50 each, I belive there is minimum order of 2. This is the least expensive of the tea services and also provides the least variety. The presentation was spot on. They first brought out matching tea cups and saucers and gold rimmed plates. The sugar was served in individually wrapped packets in a sugar holder and the cream was in a creamer dish. The tea was served in plain white tea pots and we were given a 3 minute timer for the tea to steep. The loose leaf tea was in mesh bags to keep the leaves contained. The sandwiches and desserts were served on a 3 tiered platter and beautifully arranged. Though it's plenty for us. We were first served warm berry scones with fresh Devonshire cream. They were Devine. It helped that the scones were soft and flakey. My favorite sandwich is the cucumber mint, but.... The bread was kind of stale so that was a bit of a bummer. The chicken salad was ok, I wish it came with more grapes and something lighter then the huge roll it was on. The roll was over powering. The veggie garden was good. I liked it on the petite toasted French roll at the same time it really didn't do anything for me. My mom liked the turkey pesto one, it came on wheat bread. The bread complimented the sandwich. For dessert there were 2 French pastries. A vanilla macaron. I would have preferred pistachio as that is my favorite, but vanilla is good too. There was a Neapolitan. It was very flakey and hard to eat. I liked the macaron better. For fresh fruit they were thinly sliced kiwi, orange, apples, and strawberries. A petite serving. We sat outdoors under their awning. They draped fake wisteria along the front and back of the awning. Even being fake, it was quaint. Before we sat they draped a white tablecloth over the table. They presented me with a menu and lots of the items were crossed off. It was kind of tacky. They really need to redo their menus. On the back side of the menu they offer Strawberry Long Island tea, sadly they said they use a new distributor and they don't offer that tea anymore. This is really sad as it's my favorite tea. We were given a small list of the current teas they were serving as the menu is outdated. We had two green teas, a single tea pot per person. Pomegranate Hibiscus and Lavender Butterfly. After adding the cream (Whole Milk) and sugar (brown packets of Sugar in the raw they both tasted pleasantly the same. We added a single packet of sugar to each cup. The tea was very tasty and I would order those two flavors again. Overall the tea service was delightful. They can use some minor improvements, but even that said we will be back for our next special occasion.
