The spot looks clean and welcoming. We were greeted right when we stepped into the store. Staff was very friendly. The coffee was pretty good. It actually tasted like coffee. I got a Mexican mocha. My kid got a matcha. There's lots of other places that serve coffee but it just tasted like milk. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. I'm kind of sad that I live so far away from it. I'd be there every week. Bonus: they have food trucks in the parking lot. So grab some food while you're at it.

As a self acclaimed coffee "snob" in-training it was a huge plus to see them roasting their own beans. I knew the coffee was gonna be good. I got the vanilla lavender earl grey cold foam latte which was a seasonal drink and it was very good. I also got a savory breakfast croissant which I gobbled down before I could take a picture. They had plenty of seating areas so great for students to study or just a place to catch up with friends. Will be back to try a hot coffee next time.

We were walking around downtown Davis. I was thirsty and we stumbled on Molly Jasmine Tea. I love…read morethe vibe as soon as I walked in. High ceilings, wooden flooring, spacious and tables are not cramped on top of each other. Excellent space to work or meet friends. There are two kiosks for self ordering. I got the Coconut Blue Cloud Matcha. Before I even taste the drink, it is gorgeous! Probably the most beautiful drink I have ever seen. It's green matcha foam on top, then this bright blue liquid and white/milk bottom. Once you mix it, it becomes a turquois color. It also taste really good. Refreshing coconut milk/water, subtle sweetness (70% sugar) and strong matcha. When you get to the bottom, you get the bits of coconut. I don't live near Davis but I would definitely come again the next time I am in the area.

Finally got to visit this Molly Tea dupe in Davis (since there's no Molly Tea near me…read moreunfortunately..)! I got the Coconut Blue Cloud Matcha and it costed like $7.95 which is quite on average with pricing. Coconut Blue Cloud Matcha - 8.7/10 I got this with 70% sweet and it didn't taste too sweet at all. The coconut jelly definitely added a nice texture and it wasn't too overpowering. Although I couldn't taste too much of the matcha unless I directly taste it but otherwise it really reminds me of the HeyTea version. Overall, I ordered it through a kiosk so there wasn't much service. The ambiance is clean and aesthetically pleasing so it's great to study but definitely go there when it's not crowded though.

There is a lot of table space in the cafe and when UC Davis is in session, I've found many of the tables to be occupied by students doing just that. Mishka's Cafe has been around since 1995 and is a beloved place in Davis. It's a traditional cafe that has a welcoming atmosphere. When you first walk into the cafe you'll see the food case just to your left. It is filled with cafe items such as croissants, muffins, and cookies. There are savory items as well as sweet. I found the quality of the food here to be quite good and unique. Sometimes cafe food just feels like it came from somewhere else, but even if these did, they have a uniqueness about them. For example, the chocolate croissant is very flakey with a good amount of chocolate in the interior. It really surprised me! I also found the ham and cheese croissant to be very rich in flavor. My only gripe about either or these items was the heating method. I'm not sure how they are heated up, but they feel as though they used one of those quick heaters to quickly get them ready rather than a good toaster to get the items nice and crisp. As good as they are they were a bit limp due to the heating method. In terms of coffee, it's perfectly adequate. They have special offerings as well as their traditional menu. I found the coffee to be mild and friendly. It's not too strong nor very unique. It's just a solid cup. Sometimes that's really all you need.

Mom and I were out and about in Davis on Saturday visiting the amazing art galleries in the area…read more It was a little bit of a drive as the Causeway was backed up as usual. On average it takes around 22 minutes to get there from Sacramento. Parking can be a challenge. There is some street parking, but I prefer to park in one of their lots. The lot I choose has 3 hour 3 parking. Tea List is hidden down a pathway behind Pence Gallery, one of our favorite Galleries to visit. If you don't know it's there you may never find it. I found them googling high tea salon in the area. It's the only high tea salon for miles that I'm aware of. Granted there are lots of tea and boba shops around, but those are not the same as having high or afternoon tea. For variety we used to go to a Tea Salon in SF's Japantown, but they have since closes so we are very limited on High Tea salons. We've been coming here for years and we have a great experience every time we do. To me Tea List is a special occasion place and this being a special occasion we popped in. To my happy surprise they were still open and seating was available. There were several tables open when we arrived and 5 tables were in different stages of their tea parties. In the past I've always made reservations a week in advance. When we walked in we were informed that they were only serving their 4 different tea service options. They sometimes serve individual items, but I've never gone when that was an options so that is a little mystery to me as to when you can offer individual items instead of ordering a whole tea service. I ordered us the Afternoon Tee for $27.50 each, I belive there is minimum order of 2. This is the least expensive of the tea services and also provides the least variety. The presentation was spot on. They first brought out matching tea cups and saucers and gold rimmed plates. The sugar was served in individually wrapped packets in a sugar holder and the cream was in a creamer dish. The tea was served in plain white tea pots and we were given a 3 minute timer for the tea to steep. The loose leaf tea was in mesh bags to keep the leaves contained. The sandwiches and desserts were served on a 3 tiered platter and beautifully arranged. Though it's plenty for us. We were first served warm berry scones with fresh Devonshire cream. They were Devine. It helped that the scones were soft and flakey. My favorite sandwich is the cucumber mint, but.... The bread was kind of stale so that was a bit of a bummer. The chicken salad was ok, I wish it came with more grapes and something lighter then the huge roll it was on. The roll was over powering. The veggie garden was good. I liked it on the petite toasted French roll at the same time it really didn't do anything for me. My mom liked the turkey pesto one, it came on wheat bread. The bread complimented the sandwich. For dessert there were 2 French pastries. A vanilla macaron. I would have preferred pistachio as that is my favorite, but vanilla is good too. There was a Neapolitan. It was very flakey and hard to eat. I liked the macaron better. For fresh fruit they were thinly sliced kiwi, orange, apples, and strawberries. A petite serving. We sat outdoors under their awning. They draped fake wisteria along the front and back of the awning. Even being fake, it was quaint. Before we sat they draped a white tablecloth over the table. They presented me with a menu and lots of the items were crossed off. It was kind of tacky. They really need to redo their menus. On the back side of the menu they offer Strawberry Long Island tea, sadly they said they use a new distributor and they don't offer that tea anymore. This is really sad as it's my favorite tea. We were given a small list of the current teas they were serving as the menu is outdated. We had two green teas, a single tea pot per person. Pomegranate Hibiscus and Lavender Butterfly. After adding the cream (Whole Milk) and sugar (brown packets of Sugar in the raw they both tasted pleasantly the same. We added a single packet of sugar to each cup. The tea was very tasty and I would order those two flavors again. Overall the tea service was delightful. They can use some minor improvements, but even that said we will be back for our next special occasion.
