I really wanted to like the coffee here because of all the positive feedback, but I was disappointed with the cold brew. I ordered the Mont Blanc, and both drinks tasted watered down. The cream cold foam was okay, and once everything was mixed together, it didn't taste as watery, but it also took away from the coffee flavor. I'll give it another chance though and update my review. They also offer pastries and breakfast items which looked good from glancing over their menu.
One of my favorite spots to get coffee on Broadway. Also outdoor seating or indoor seating here is a favorite. . I like getting the bat and ball, which is a cup of hot coffee and a shot of espresso, comes with a sparkling water. . I also like their latte which is milk and espresso. Its a solid drink for me. The cold brew is good here too. . Service is quick and friendly and in and out within 10 mins. The Ambiance is spacious inside with plenty of seating. Also plenty of tables too. They have focus rooms in the back too. If you like coffee and vibes this is a place to check out. Thanks for reading and have a yelptastic day.
This place was near my hotel, so I decide to meet some family here for tea. They have great staff, a large space, and fun flavors, such as Tokyo Fog, a matcha twist on the classic London Fog. The place is embedded with natural lighting and calm energy. The baristas were super inviting and gave great suggestions.
SO YUMMY!!!! i decided to stop by study here. the parking wasn't too bad there's a couple spots of free 2 hour parking. i got the pj & j matcha with blueberry syrup. the ambience was great for studying there's a ton of seating and the music wasn't too loud. it was friendly fast service and not a ton of outlets but there's a back table with one. i'm definitely going to be back and try the food!!! it smelled so delicious.
I've had their matcha yuzu sparkler multiple times. It's my favorite. Their chocolate croissant is also really tasty. Such quick service. I go here to work and there's plenty of seating space. I've added pictures of the menu because I was struggling to find it before going to the coffee shop.
Went on an adventure and came across this little gem. Decided to get a hot sweet latte and when I say I've never written a review this fast. Not sure what they're putting in this drink but it was absolutely amazing. Happiness in a cup and perfect on a cloudy day. Will be back for it again. It was the perfect balance of espresso with a touch of sweet. Wanted to savor it forever! Inside is cute and clean. Customer service can use some improvement, nothing bad necessarily but a little politeness goes a long way, and some people just are there to be there and you can tell. Parking definitely is limited so on a weekend I can see it getting difficult to find a spot. Other than that, came here for the coffee and it delivered.
I'm starting to think Sacramento has some kind of city-wide agreement - what doesn't get 5 stars here? Seriously - during my many visits, I've yet to have a bad dining experience. At this point, even my worst meal in Sacramento would probably be a personal best somewhere else. Big thanks to Mast for turning "waiting for a table at Tower Cafe" from a test of patience into a perfectly enjoyable coffee break. BB
This was a great find! I recently tried Queen Shiba and spotted this cute spot across the street. Bookmarked it try later and I'm glad I did. I've gone back three times now and they're incredibly consistent. The pastries have always been tasty, but not quite fresh since they aren't made in house. I believe they're from a bakery in Berkeley. The coffee and drinks have all been solid. I've tried the dirty chai, tokyo fog, and my litmus test: a sweetened latte. All were solid and consistent. The food is also a standout here. The French Omelette was the perfect consistency both times I tried it, and the breakfast sandwich was solid (but not quite as good as Camelias ... although people on our group disagreed on who's was better, so it's pretty close!) It's self serve for water and food pickup and there's an area for bussing your own table, but sometimes staff will come by to pick up your dishes before you leave. Overall a great consistent spot for a weekend coffee (or weekday).
I found Mast Coffee while on my matcha quest. It's one of the coffee shops that sells ceremonial matcha. Each season they have a special matcha latte. So far I've tasted their blueberry matcha (yum!) and the Tokyo Fog (my favorite; mix of black metallic tea and matcha). I've only had their breakfast sandwich. It's a decent spot to hang out, I see a lot of people working in there. They even have private little booths you can rent to work near the bathroom. People tend to hang outside as well. Pros: I'm in love with their Tokyo Fog, I would drink it daily if I could because it's just that good! So far, I've been impressed with their seasonal matcha lattes. The staff are pretty quick to make your drink so I usually don't have to wait long. Cons: their breakfast sandwich had too much sauce for me, I felt it was drowning in ketchup. It's not my jam since I like things on the plainer side. Parking can be hard to find if they're busy. If you park in their parking lot, it's only one direction (in), there's not enough room to turn around so you need to reverse to get out.
Ordered the egg sando and the banana mocha. Both were winners! Egg sandwich was fluffy and flavorful and cheesy! Mocha reminded me of banana lattes in korea. So delicious. Service was also quick and friendly. I would definitely come back and would recommend to others!
This is probably one of the perfect spots to go to if you need a place to lock-in. I didn't try it out, but it seems that there are private booths you can use to really have your own space. There is ample seating (though not every seat has access to a plug-in, so choose your nest wisely). The workers were kind and very helpful at answering the few questions we had about drinks and the menu. We got the Sweet Latte and Banana Mocha (seasonal). The Sweet Latte was delicious! Definitely one of the best lattes I've tried in the area. Banana Mocha was okay. Banana was in the cold foam and the flavor left more to be desired. The mocha is iced and it was alright--I didn't really taste mocha, but then again a mocha is always best hot. Once the cold foam was all mixed into the drink, the taste was definitely elevated. However, I probably wouldn't get it again. I would say come here, but I almost want to keep it a secret to myself. Definitely will be stopping by again when I need to get some work done to try out what else they have to offer!
Order the Tokyo Fog and enjoyed the floral flavor. This matcha latte was wasn't sweet but more of a traditional matcha flavor. It was served at the appropriate temperature and was picturesque. The barista was super cool and the atmosphere had a very hip and urban vibe.
Popped in one day while waiting for my car to be serviced and was pleasantly surprised! Mast is a cute and quaint coffee shop, tucked away off Broadway. My husband and I each ordered a seasonal latte; hubby a banana mocha and me, a maple & cinnamon latte. Not sure maple and cinnamon is very seasonal for summer, but was good nonetheless! Service was unremarkable. For the food, their avocado toast changed my life! It was probably the best avocado toast I've ever had. I'd almost recommend the toast over the coffee! Couldn't wait to come back, and I already did! Try the toast!
Mast Coffee is an excellent place to enjoy a high quality coffee with amazing depth of flavor. I found the coffee here to be complex, but also balanced and enjoyable. The specials are especially great. On my first visit to Mast I tried their churro inspired latte. I loved the cinnamon and brown sugar flavor and especially appreciated that it wasn't 'too sweet to the taste. My wife, who also enjoys coffee with a little less sugar, was impressed with their Tokyo Fog matcha. She really enjoys the natural earthy matcha flavor and the Tokyo Fog gave that to her with some beautiful floral notes. Service was fast and we had our coffees very quickly. The cafe itself is well furnished and would be an incredible place to do some work on the go or just to hang out with friends. The ambiance is calm with some really great decorations around. It's not gaudy at all - just a smooth vibe. The food here is also of high quality. The pastries in the front case look beautiful and also have a rich flavor profile. I had their savory bacon bear claw and it was packed with bacon bits and cheese. Perhaps on my next visit to this location I'll give their kitchen items a try as they looked like they would make a great breakfast. read more

I think this one might be slightly better than the one in Midtown. You would think they had similar offerings but this one does have a larger kitchen for savory foods and I feel like my PB&J Matcha Latte was so much better here. The staff were friendly and helpful. This place seemed extremely busy on a holiday Monday morning. It did give local vibes, like neighborhood people come here. There was a bit of a strong smell when I entered. Not sure if it was food or coffee but it seemed to go away or I was desensitized quickly. There were lots of seating options inside and outside. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon with our pup and we had the best experience here. The coffee shop is big and has a lot of seating. Great spot for catching up with friends, studying + getting some work done. They had a nice menu with interesting syrups. Service from the two girls working here was amazing. We were greeted and the girl helping us gave us great recommendations. She offered our pup a treat and another girl brought water over for our dog right as I sat down. Super friendly and I really appreciated the quick and friendly service. There is even an outdoor patio! It's huge and has lots of seating!! We got an iced latte with oat milk with the Demerara simple syrup and the yuzu sparkling matcha and it was super refreshing and fizzy! The latte was deep and rich in flavor and was extremely yummy. Mast Coffee has two locations relatively close to each other. Since it's not right in the center of downtown or midtown, I figured parking would be easier. There was space right out right front the morning I stopped by. Service was fine and the coffee was out quick. I ordered a latte. I felt it was more milk-like than coffee-like, in terms of the taste...which I was surprised about since a recall seeing a few reviews about the baristas coming across a bit snobby to some customers. In any case, didn't love or hate my drink. Nice latte art. Plenty of seating. read more

Second time in. Have go to's nearby. Want to give Mast a real try. First time in I had tea. It was good. Pastry was good. Service was good. Not unpleasant. Not super friendly. It was early. Tried again today. Ordered an oat cortado to go. They made it in a glass then realized it was to go and dumped into a cup. Not a big deal but does impact the flavor. Overall, I like the baristas pour. The shots were pulled well. I like it. It was 9:45 am. Same tepid tone. I'll try one more time. Giving a 5 for the drinks. If their tone is always what it is, I'll not repeat after the third try. I like to feel good spending money where I choose. read more

We visited this place for the first time today. We parked along the curb, which was convenient. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The potatoes were overcooked, burnt, and completely inedible. I asked for them to be remade, but the replacement was exactly the same - still burnt, nothing changed. The coffee was also not good. We ordered a cappuccino and a macchiato, and both were underwhelming. The breakfast tostado was not tasty either. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 0 only because the interior is beautiful and stylish, and the tableware is very trendy. Also, they have private booths where you can work on your laptop, which is very convenient. read more
This is one of my go to coffee shops in sacramento. The drinks .... Amazing (Tokyo Fog with honey is my go too). And the food omg, I've literally have had nothing bad here. The seasonal focaccia is so fresh and light I was so surprised with how huge it was too. But the sando, wow, wow,wow. Absolutely insane. The THICC bacon, the sauce, the perfectly cooked egg, and the buttery bun. Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere here is super chill, I would love to work from home here or just meet up with friends. The music playing is always very good and the staff are super chill. The pastries are also so so good. The only thing that kinda sucks is the parking. I usually go before work at like 7:15 (which thankfully they are open early!) so I can always get a spot in the tiny lot. But other times you have to park kinda far and walk, which is fine, it's well worth the walk. read more

Of the "bigger" chain coffee shops, I think Mast is my favorite. I want to discuss the Broadway location because it is unique in that it has a food menu. It's simple counter service. They do bring your food to you. Very chill, hip vibe. Lots of counter and bench seating. Very european. I always go straight, black coffee. The coffee was well brewed. Not overly acidic or or burnt. It was fruity and delicious. I wish I asked what it was. The cold brew was meh. Honestly, the breakfast sandwich was superb and rivals Camellia Coffee Roasters for best coffee house breafast sando in my books. The bun was soft and had some type of sweet glaze. The bacon and egg components came apart well with each bite. Like, I wasn't pulling too much egg or bacon slice each chomp. The bacon wasn't too think or overly cooked. Eggs are eggs. It was complimented by some sort of tangy sauce. Overall, I thought the sweetness of bun really complimented the savoriness of the inside. I would definitely get this meal again. What's insane is that the breakfast burrito is suppose to be better, but you HAVE to get there early or they run out. So, TBD. read more
Omg. We finally stopped by for breakfast after my friend recommended it (and the Yelp reviews sealed the deal). The avocado toast is amazing! The combination of "Asian guacamole," perfect tomatoes, and the siracha mayo on a thick slab of great French bread earns a chef's kiss. I ordered a chai latte (almond milk) -- very good. My husband also praised the avocado toast and says that the coffee is great. The shop is comfortable and clean. The service is great. We look forward to our next visit. read more
My buddy said "wait we're getting Mast first!" and I was finally able to try it...multiple times later and multiple dope-ass baristas later, I'm always hit with Classy service, bomb coffee, and a good vibe. There is always focused consistency here and I admire that from being involved in both sides of the coffee biz. Ive only been here on Sundays, but my go-to's are; the Oat Cortado, OR Red eye. I love the combo of their drip and espresso. I tried the *New* Blueberry Matcha! I got it on 6/8 and it smacked and is not too sweet as well...perfect for us coffee nerds. See you at Mast! read more

I've been to this Mast location a few times, and each visit I enjoy whatever I order. The most recent visit, we got a sweet latte (recommend this one) and banana mocha. Before ordering, I had asked the barista if the banana mocha was too sweet and he assured me it was sweet but not over the top. When I tasted it, I agreed it wasn't overly sweet, but it also didn't taste like banana to me. Not even a hint of banana. It was a good mocha for sure, just didn't taste like a banana mocha. The potatoes were good and I would order again. It was a sizeable portion of potatoes that were nicely seasoned, drizzled with chili oil (my favorite part!) and a nice soft boiled egg. It was enough for my sister and I to share with our coffee. This cafe gets quite busy on the weekends so I recommend coming early if you can. read more
Mast Coffee is a pretty spacious shop with tons of space for everyone to chat or work, even individual pods if you really need to dial it in. The inside is modern and minimalist with a lot of natural lighting, so I can see it being a great spot to have some productive working sessions. What we ordered: - Banana Mocha $6.50 - Cold Brew $4.50 - Tokyo Fog $6.50 - Avocado Toast $13 The drinks were average, not the best, not the worst! I personally had the Tokyo Fog and I thought it was too floral for my taste, reminded me of my rose moisturizer haha. The avocado toast was yummy! It tasted like an Asian-inspired guacamole and the slice of toast was nice and thick. read more
We came here early last Sunday morning. The shop wasn't busy; we could place an order immediately, find a table, and enjoy. We had some of their pastries, a matcha latte, and a latte. Both lattes were smooth and great, and the pastries were fresh and flaky. They have street parking and a small parking lot beside the building. The place is quiet, so it's a nice place to stop by. read more
Omg hands down ! This has been one of my favorite coffee shops that I have tried. I did not know what to expect but let me tell you that was the best avocado toast I have had ! The coffee was also very tasty . The inside is very clean and organized with friendly staff . They have 3 quite rooms incase u have a conference call or anything private and quite . I never saw that before what a great idea . They also have some outside seating options. I sat outside and enjoyed my delicious coffee and food . It was very relaxing. I would definitely be coming back .. 10/10 must try .. read more

This place is becoming my new go-to spot for breakfast on the go. I've tried a few of their drinks to find what I like most. Their teas are nice. Their matcha is too milky. Their coffee is amazing which makes sense given the name of the shop. Iced drinks are served so quickly (less than a minute sometimes). Hot drinks will often have a design on them, adding to the ambiance. They also have a nice selection of pastries. My favorite is the almond crescent which is similar to a bear claw. read more

on my cafe crawl around sac, i decided to give mast coffee a try, after hearing good things about it! parking is average midtown parking, so street parking is really your only chance. the interior space is huge though, and great for working. lots of tables in a warehouse-like space. i decided to try their mont blanc cold brew topped with an orange cold foam and peel, as well as their salted chocolate chip cookie. both were nothing too special i'd say, i would definitely have preferred the cold foam a little sweeter, just to balance out the bitter cold brew. i did really enjoy the salted cookie though! i loved that they used dark chocolate, and the salt on top complimented the sweetness perfectly. on a separate occasion i tried their new banana mocha, and this was so good! the chocolate flavor was less of a malt and more of a darker chocolate, and the banana cream was more of a whipped cream rather than a cold foam. it did taste a little like artificial banana but i didn't mind it too much. read more

I always love getting mast! Both locations are lovely but the food options here or more plentiful and just so delicious. I find myself ordering the roasted potatoes almost every time! Consistently good. I also enjoy their avocado toast! The outside has good seating and shade, and the inside as well with good tunes. Staff is kind and helpful, love the vibes here read more
