I've been dying to check Qisa out for a while now. A coffee date with a friend was a great opportunity, and Qisa did not disappoint. The cafe itself is very inviting. A cute outside patio and plenty of room to sit inside. I got the Pink Chai and my friend and i took our drinks to a park down the street which really set the scene: spring day in the park with a friend and a great beverage. The drink was very hot, which ended up being perfect because I had to enjoy it slowly. The flavor profile was subtle and well balanced, not overpowering or too sweet. I'm a big fan of cardamom and pistachio, so getting both in one drink felt like a win, and they worked beautifully together. The pistachio added a nice, nutty finish. I don't distinctly remember tasting the fennel, but it may have been part of what made the overall flavor feel so smooth. I guess I'll just have to come back and order it again. All in all, Qisa was a treat. Im planning on moving in a few months and started looking at apartment listings near by that would allow me to come to Qisa more often. Highly recommend! read more

We were walking around Curtis Park and made our way through this area, as soon as I saw the coffee shop I was excited to stop in. The space is pretty big with a good amount of seating inside and outside. The team at Qisa was very friendly and welcoming and when I let them know it was my first time in they asked what I liked to drink. I let them know I drink everything and typically order a flat white or a specialty drink. I was ready for them to recommend the pistachio latte or rose latte but the person helping me seemed interested in trying their hand at a flat white and adding the Qisa house syrup to it. They seemed excited so I was happy to give it a try. We saw posters for pink chai outside and my husband is a big chai fan so his order was easy. He opted for the iced version. We weren't sure what to expect and the menu says it's green tea, with milk, cardamom and pistachio. I'm not sure what turns it pink? The drinks didn't take long and we were back on our walk in no time. The chai was fine, but my husband likes more flavor and spice. The pink chai had a light flavor. The flat white was also ok, not the best I've ever had but I appreciated them giving it a try. I would definitely try them again though and go for a drink they're more known for. I came in with my friend. Parking here is on the street and maybe a tad hard to find. The coffee shop is a nice quiet neighborhood so it's really cute spot to chill and work if you need. I got the pistachio iced latte and my friend got the banana latte. Both were good. We each also got chicken rolls that were pretty tasty. Went to give Qisa a go this morning and I enjoyed my time here! The cafe is spacious, bright, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The environment is welcoming and the servers were friendly and engaging. There the lots of tables and I saw people taking advantage of them to have their coffee and work on the laptops. Qisa offers hot and cold coffees with an Arabic spin. I asked for a recommendation and they recommended their hot Qisa Latte. It's their signature drink with authentic Yemeni coffee and espresso. It was mildly sweet and was very enjoyable. If you enjoy smooth, silky tastes - this one is a good bet. The menu also had a number of food items and I saw they had a spicy chicken sandwich. Sounded exciting but really ended up being a bit middle-of-the-road in terms of taste. I probably should have gotten something more cafe-oriented... but I wanted to try it. This place is located in a really cute neighborhood and everyone is super sweet, however, the drinks just don't hit for me. I got the Karak chai based on a friend's recommendation. We're both Indian and regularly make chai at home, so it's not something we go out for because it's usually watered down and not as good as homemade. Also it's way more expensive than it should be. I was really excited to try the Karak chai here and it was okay...it did taste a little watered down. I recently went back and tried the iced matcha. I usually try not to get matcha at coffee or tea shops, especially if they don't specialize in it because it's usually also watered down and not good. This matcha was unfortunately not good at all. It was very watered down and when mixed with the milk it gave a more lighter, pastel green hue than a bright, vibrant, and grassy hue. The service was good and the staff seemed really sweet. I would give this place 4 stars for the service and 2 stars for the drink quality. I do think a regular Jo Schmo would really enjoy the chai, it's definitely high quality...but I much prefer my version at home. I would definitely pass on the matcha...it's not good at all. Oh, my boyfriend did like their coffee. I tried a sip and it's comparable to other coffee shops, but definitely solid. read more

First time at Qisa coffee today! It's so cozy! I tried their pink chai special. Beetroot gives it the signature pink color. I got a slice of the honey bite. It's a pastry that the barista described as an everything bagel with cream cheese inside. They warm it up and top it with honey! It was delicious! Went on a Friday mid morning to try a new coffee place. Great friendly service. They were busy but still made sure to offer great customer service. The shop has great bright natural light and many people were working or studying. Latte had great flavor and not too sweet which like. Honeybite was not what I expected but in a good way. I really like this place! A Yemeni coffee spot in Curtis Park that is perfect for meeting and chatting with friends or even reading or studying alone! I love all their offerings - especially the pistachio latte. They spread the pistachio crème all around the cup before filling it with ice and the latte. The flavor of the crème is a little overly sweet but it mixes well with the rest of the drink and overall is well balanced. We also order a green tea lemonade that was amazing. Super flavorful, not just a regular mix that you can find at a restaurant - this drink was curated. The prices here are a little steep, $7-8 per drink but the quality is very well worth it. I also loved the spinach croissant I ordered. Very similar to the one at La Bou but with more herbs/spices! I believe a regular croissant is $5 and the spinach one is an extra $2. TL;DR Cozy late-night café with plenty of outdoor seating and a lively vibe. Smoothies and pistachio cake were decent but pricey, with quality not quite matching the cost. --- I came here around 8:30 PM on the hunt for a late-night sweet treat. The place stays open pretty late, which is definitely a plus. There's only street parking, but I had no trouble finding a spot nearby. Even that late, the café was still buzzing. Almost every indoor table was taken, so I grabbed a seat outside on the front patio. It was a nice atmosphere to relax in, especially for that hour. I ordered two smoothies, which were $9 each, and a slice of pistachio cake for $7. The prices felt a bit steep, especially for the smoothies, which I found to be just okay. It tasted like they didn't use real fruit in the smoothies, and from what I saw, it looked like they were using some sort of concentrate or juice. It leaned on the more artificial and sweet side. The pistachio cake had a nice flavor, but since it was late in the evening, it leaned on the drier side. Overall, it's a solid spot and a nice place to hang out, especially if you're in the area late. That said, it probably wouldn't be my go-to for drinks or pastries, mostly because of the price and the quality not quite living up to it. read more

To those that have not yet tried Yemeni/Peshawari coffee, it is a unique but complex process with its earthiness and different shaped beans. Since Sacramento already had a ton of standard coffee shops, it was a pleasant surprise to find this place. This is none other than "Qisa Coffee" in the Curtis Park neighborhood. Located directly at the corner of 24th St. and Castro Way, this place has been in operation since July 2024. Since this part of town of Sacramento is nestled with charming homes in a very residential area, parking isn't too difficult to find. I was able to find a spot about a block away during the morning of Saturday 4/5/2025 at around 11:25am. One thing that really stood out was how spacious the business was both inside and out. You will find several red tables and chairs located at their outside patio while the indoor seating area has a very sleek modern look to it. I was particularly impressed with the hanging light fixtures, comfortable chairs, and just an overall excellent ambiance where much of the natural light from the sun made its way to the inside of the building. Their menu is equally as impressive with hot & cold espresso drinks, tea, smoothies, and a unique assortment of Turkish and Arabic, beverages that you can't find anywhere else. Additionally, they have a nice variety of baked goods, sweet treats, and standard food items. This includes their "Honey Bites", "Naan Hummus Dip", "Cheesecakes", and "Smoked Turkey Sandwich". Since this was my first time coming here, I wanted to go with a fan favorite, their "Iced Pistachio Latte" (priced at $9). I completed my order with one of their savory dessert items, the "Rose Cake" (priced at $7). After paying the young lady at the counter, both my cake and drink was ready in less than 5 minutes. Keep in mind that this business does not accept cash and ONLY takes debit/credit as well as Apple Pay/Google Pay. Since more places are going exclusively digital, its an easier process than having to count change as well as making cash deposits. I also wanted to add that this is one of the few coffee shops that has very generous hours of operation as they are open for business 7 days a week from 7am-11pm. Which is great since many people can come and get their coffee/food before work as well as making it a great atmosphere to work/study into the late night hours. As for my Iced Pistachio Latte, it was good but not great. A little bit on the bitter side as I did not quite get a ton of that exclusive pistachio flavor in my drink. The Rose Cake was also good but not over-the-top amazing. I think for nearly $20 (after tax + tip) for these two items, it was a bit on the more pricey side. All in all, "Qisa Coffee" is a good above average place that I recommend. The variety of options alone is enough to please most people. With that said and done, I am giving this place four stars. read more

I specifically tried the iced qisa latte and the Turkish cold brew. Both are great though I prefer the Turkish cold brew as the Qisa latte is rather on the sweet side. Quite strong drinks; it woke me up from the summer groggy mornings! As for food offerings, the filling in the chicken roll was a tad dry and bland and the rose cake had a gritty texture even with its soaked-cake style. Polite staff. Small, clean, and humble interior with enough natural lighting. Since this cafe opened I've been wanting to try it and I finally got to on one of my lunch breaks ! It's nestled in a neighborhood which gives it a cozy feel and walking into the cafe you're hit with a sweet aroma of coffee and baked goods. I'm a sucker for a pistachio latte and this one exceeded my expectations. The pistachio cream lining the cup and the espresso paired with it left me feeling like I needed more! It was a perfect balance of sweet. I've been craving it ever since. This was my first time trying honeycomb bread and it was so good. The barista toasted it and added honey. Each little "honeycomb" is filled with cream cheese and when warmed it makes a perfect companion to the latte. Finally got to come back to Qisa Coffee now that they've been open for a while! They had a steady flow of customers when we came on a Saturday morning so it's great to see them thriving. They have clearly taken into account a lot of feedback and my viewpoint has completely changed. -Pistachio Latte: this drink now utilizes a real pistachio puree. It's blended but not too chunky which makes it a nice texture in the drink. I loved it with the oat milk. Definitely worth the price now for the real ingredients! -Qisa Latte: we got this one hot and it was very creamy! If you like cardamom this one is perfect for you. -Go Bananas Latte: creamy banana milk and espresso, can't ask for more! I wish more places had banana lattes and they did it really well here. -Mofawar Experience: this tasted similar to the qisa latte but a little bit sweeter and lighter. The beautiful presentation makes it a fun experience and something to do when meeting with a friend or two! If you're planning to hang out a while this is a great option and they have different "experiences" to choose from. The chicken roll was stuffed top to bottom with chicken! But my favorite was the honey bread. It was so warm and fluffy like it was just freshly baked. Service was a lot more welcoming this time around and made me feel like I want to come back! I'm so happy I discovered Qisa recently! It's such a great coffee shop to come to with friends or to study at. They have a good amount of seating indoors along w some seating outside. There are plenty of outlets next to the four booths and they are open super late compared to other coffee shops in Sac. The coffee and pastries are also great! So far I've tried the Pistachio latte, Pumpkin Spice Latte, and the Qisa Latte. They're all great, but my favorite so far is definitely the pistachio.
