The seasalt cream top was really good! As was the matcha, it paired very well. However, it tasted a bit watered down, but honestly didn't bother me, because the top was flavorful. The workers are so nice and got my drink out promptly. Also, the cafe space was pretty, I love a good study spot.
Caffeine Society offers a variety of coffee & matcha. The service always friendly,atmosphere is simply & clean, drinks are tasty at reasonable prices. I only wish they offer larger sizes in the drinks but overall if you are in the area and need a good matcha & coffee fix I would recommend Caffeine Society.
The first time I tried Caffeine Society, my husband picked up double matcha lattes for us. We found the matcha flavor to be very light and muted in the drink and was pretty disappointed. I wanted to give this place another try because the reviews were so good, I felt like I was missing something. This is a small cafe with only 3 -4 tables but it was very clean and the chairs were comfy! This time I ordered the sea salt cream matcha latte and my husband got the ice phin latte with matcha foam. There was only one staff working the counter who takes your order and makes your drinks. He was very nice and friendly with a sweet smile. Matcha is hand whisked to order and there was very little wait for our drinks. Now I know that the cream top is what makes the drink. Even though the matcha itself is mediocre, the cream top is so delicious and perfectly sweetened that you can kinda ignore the fact that you don't really taste the matcha. More importantly, the phin latte is the star. It can do without the matcha foam but it might be the best Vietnamese coffee I have ever tried in South Sac! Skip the matcha and get the phin latte! I'll definitely be back.
Cute spot to get fun matcha and Phin lattes! We got the sea salt Phin latte and it definitely packs a punch. Really strong coffee balanced well with the seal salt cold foam. We also tried the banana cream matcha. Very good and not too sweet. The drink sizes are a bit smaller than other places in Sac but the drinks are definitely quality. No extra charge for alternative milk sub either! Several tables and outlets with good parking lot so good for studying. Will come back to try their other fun drink options! The cashier was really friendly and helpful in helping us pick!
Welcomed in by a pleasant, soft spoken staff who greeted me with a smile. I ordered the seasonal "banana phin latte, " essentially a Vietnamese coffee with house made banana cream on top. Oh it was so good and nicely priced at $6 (one size only). Wish they offered a larger size because a cold, strong, and creamy drink doesn't last long. There was only one other customer there, so he made my drink quickly, which was so appreciated during my limited lunch break. Place was clean with a few tables. So if you're looking for calm vibez and good drinks, or just want a quiet spot to sip and chill, go to Caffeine Society. Just get there before they close at 3pm!
Discovered this place on TikTok and I swear every matcha place in this shopping place is so good. I got the Foam Matcha and it's the perfect amount of sweet and earthy. Dare I say this was one of the best matches I've had in Sac. This cute little place is a newer shop and I hope it gains more popularity. Plus it's Cambodian-owned!
Love a #HotAndNew coffee spot! I was in the area and decided to pop in to check out the space and order a drink or two (you know I can't just get one). It's located in a busy plaza off of Stockton blvd and surrounded by great restaurants. I was able to grab a parking spot right out front and walked into a bright and welcoming coffee shop. At first I was the only one there and was welcomed in and given time to look over the menu to figure out my order. I opted for two of their coffee options the Banana Phin Latte ($5.64) and the Sea Salt Cream Phin Latte ($5.64). They're offered in one size and the coffee is prepared right in front of you. I know from experience that Vietnamese coffee is strong so the ice to coffee ratio is a bit more so you can allow the ice to melt a bit. Sometimes I can't wait and end up drinking them right away, when I do the caffeine hits fast. Today though I was patient and took the drinks home before enjoying them. The cream on both was delicious and while I prefer the Sea Salt Cream, the seasonal Banana Cream option was also good. The drinks weren't too sweet, had a great coffee flavor and the cream tops were a great addition. If you decide to dine in they have a few tables and some bench seating and the large windows allow in a lot of light. I mentioned the location being great too- there are so many restaurant in the plaza that I wanted to go to but ended up just stopping at Duc Huong Sandwiches since they've been on my list for so long. Such a great addition to the Sacramento coffee scene.
The sea salt crème matcha is sooooo freaking good! Everything about it, the matcha great flavor and the crème so delicious. It was so good I got another drink to try and I was worried about the sea salt phin that he recommended but it was also perfect. Not too strong but not ultra sweet either and again just CANT miss with this sea salt crème. This place is out of the way for me but will gladly make the trip again. Side note I also brought over a Vietnamese sandwich from next door and they let me eat in there which I thought was nice and the atmosphere inside is very open and clean. Can't wait to try more items.
I saw this place was relatively new so I went to go check it out. It's located in the busy Asian plaza so parking can bit challenging but luckily I found parking in the front. It was completely empty when I walked in during lunch time on a week day. I ordered the sea salt cream matcha ($6.91). The place is minimalistic and clean. One half of the wall is wood and that's where the seats were so I'm assuming it's still under construction? Not too sure. I got my drink pretty quickly. The matcha was really tasty and the sea salt cream was delicious. I just wish the cup was bigger for paying almost $7 drink. I also notice they change the sticker on the cup each time because my label was a little funny.
Came back to visit after my initial visit seemed like the place was still under construction. It was more developed this time around with some wall decor, and the menu had some new items. I loved my banana matcha drink! The banana phin was also really delicious. I liked how they utilized real banana also. Service was super quick. I hope they'll utilize social media more to get the word out about their business!
Ube was sweet and creamy and the Viet coffee was robust and paired perfectly with the ube cream! Definitely a nice morning treat! Staff was polite and greeted upon arrival. Super cute vibe in little Saigon south Sacramento. Come try them out! Located across from Duc Huong Sandwiches

When I walked in, it was empty. I guess my lunch day. That stayed they'd been open 4 months. I went with one of their popular drinks, banana phin latte. It had great flavor and cost $6.15. I don't recall being asked to pick a size but the cup appeared to be maybe 12 oz. I thought it was small for the price but all the flavor was there. Staff was nice and helpful. Definitely a space to go sit, meet or study. I would go try other flavors.
This place is small, quaint, and feels like you stepped into a small town's cafe. The worker who made my drinks was so friendly and nice, I definitely need to come back and try more of their drinks! I found their prices to be really fair (under $7 for a matcha?! in 2026?!) so I look forward to my next visit! The parking can be tough considering the busy plaza it's in but I assure you it's worth the potential parking battle. I arrived at 4ish PM on a Saturday and got a parking spot right in front. I got a FOAM MATCHA which is their matcha latte with matcha foam. It reminded of a matcha Kit Kat, in a good way, and I learned they use condensed milk, which I personally love. I got it at 50% sweetness so I was really able to taste the green tea in the latte. It's a good balance at 50%! I also got a second matcha, their BANANA MATCHA. It was new and different for me, it reminded of banana pudding, so I genuinely enjoyed it. I got it at 75% sweetness which was sweet enough for my sweet tooth. Next time, I'll try their Vietnamese coffee! :) read more
The location is solid. It's right in the middle of Stockton Blvd in the heart of South Sac. There are so many Asian businesses in the area it's awesome. It's just clusters everywhere of culture around this area. The authenticity of their location serves as a representation of how flavored their drinks are. The inside was modern and hipster-esque. They had bangers playing the entire time. My matcha was salty but also sweet. I saw the barista use a bamboo whisk to make the perfect green color. It truly was earthy and delicious. The prices were also decent. I'd say expect to walk out of here for about $14 for two people. I didn't try any of their pastries but I really wanted to. Had a great time grabbing coffee with my partner on a Saturday morning around 10 am! It was empty when we arrived so I had plenty of time to look through the menu. I decided on their banana phin latte! It's a cute store that has minimal decor from posters, a few mirrors, and low tables. It's a quiet space to work in laptop. It took about 5-7 minutes for our order to be complete. I was so happy with my drink because it tasted like banana pudding! It had a great dark roast flavor and it was semi-sweet and smooth to drink. Stopped by Sacramento for another coffee/matcha adventure and found this gem on Yelp! The sea salt foam was on fire and met all my expectations. (Foam 5/5, matcha 4.5/5) What was more surprising amber milk tea had that taste of home, Burmese tea which is a little rare here. (5/5) Definitely planning to go back and try more of their matcha drinks. Gonna be my go-to Sacramento matcha place! read more
First time seeing this place in my usual plaza and decided to stroll over after getting my occasional banh mi. A nice and minimal interior, it seems like they are still in the process of completing their interior and I'm sure that the space will be a lot more stylized over time. The service was quick and intimate as the space was relatively empty around the time that I visited and my drink came out quickly and quietly. The atmosphere is very low stimulation and the music choice definitely makes the space feel very closed and humble. The einspanner was an overall solid drink. I had each part of it to get a taste of how it was put together. Originally a coffee drink, the matcha latte version holds its weight against the traditional coffee version. The whip cream was sweet and creamy. Light and well whipped to complement the matcha when I mixed it together. I can't give my full expertise on matcha as a latte as the taste only genuinely matters when you have it traditionally. However the drink when mixed was very enjoyable. It was just sweet enough to give you enough of the experience of each component without being overwhelmingly sweet like many of the big brands tend to make it. 8.5/10 Overall I would come here pretty often since I live near, but even then I would definitely make some time to go out my way to try something new. read more

Love the drinks I tried here! (Also love that it's in the same area as my favorite banh mi place.) Now I have everything I need to make me happy in the same location! Parking/driving in this lot is always challenging due to the drivers and the crowds. Not a lot for seating. There's three tables and a long bench. Minimalist decor. I tried the Sea Salt Cream Phin Latte and Foam Matcha Latte. Both drinks were great and were not overly sweet. Matcha wasn't powdery and they hand whisk it! Sweetness and saltiness of the cream complimented the coffee in the phin latte. All around great drinks and service. Can't wait to return! read more

Been here a couple times and I really like the Orange Matcha. Taste like the orange creamsicles that I used to eat as a kid but in a matcha drink. Each matcha drink was whisked when ordered and it feels a little more special. Crafted with love and care, I look forward to every visit. The cream tops here are great and not too sweet. It is definitely flavor forward and less matcha taste, but I don't mind it at all. I also love that there is no extra charge for oatmilk. It has now been my go to whenever I pick up sandwiches at Duc Hoang, I would pop in for my drinks and then walk back over to wait for my sandwiches. Definitely makes the wait for the sandwiches enjoyable with one of these in hand. read more
Ask for less foam on top. Sadly my drinks were half foam and not enough liquid. Overall the drinks were good other than the cream/foam ratio. The drinks aren't super sweet so I suggest adding sweetener. The shop is cute but not big enough for me to study. read more

The matcha here is hands down top tier! I was so excited to try caffeine society for the first time and it did not disappoint. They have a good selection of coffees and matchas to choose from depending on what you're feeling that day. I tried the orange cream matcha and would get it again. The subtle notes of citrus in the cream topping combined with the matcha was a perfect combo. I also swapped the milk for oat milk and I appreciate that there wasn't an up-charge for it. Can't wait to try more drinks from here! read more
Reasonable prices compared to others. Hubby got the Vietnamese iced phin coffee and I got the strawberry matcha latte. Hubby thought the coffee was decently strong-not quite as strong as Vin House. Strawberry preserves were overly sweet and overpowered the matcha. The plaza as usual is difficult to find parking, but considering the reasonable prices-we may come back to try again. read more

What a delightful experience. I was welcomed in, and drink was made in a timely manner. I tried the sea salt cream matcha that I enjoyed, but next time I'll ask for it to be unsweetened for the matcha to be more prominent in the best way possible. I look forward to my next visit to try their drink specials as well as their coffee. They have a lot to offer, as each drink is made to order. I look forward to my next visit. read more

I tried the Salted cheese uji matcha latte, and honestly one of the better matchas i've tried in a while. The matcha isn't bitter and the flavor wasn't diluted or grass like. Personally, I LOVED the salted cheese foam and it complimented the matcha very well. The place itself is cute and does offer seating and tables. The service was very helpful and quick and easy. Only complaint is the hours are inconvenient for me and I can't get my matcha fix as often as possible! But, on the days I can, I will definitely be coming back read more
I'm a little confused by the name. Their name was "Spice & Noodle Coffee", but I guess it's called "Caffeine Society" now. The inside is a bit bare. There are a few tables on one side and on the other is an unfinished plywood structure. I ordered a sea salt cream matcha latte. It was fine, but I didn't feel like it stood out. Besides matcha drinks, they also have Vietnamese coffee. read more
A pretty good spot if you're craving matcha. They don't add a lot of ice to their drinks which is nice but I felt my drink wasn't cold enough until I was about half way done. The store itself is kind of bare in terms of decorations, but they do have some tables for sitting. Looking forward to trying their einspanner next time. read more
This cafe just opened up, and I saw good reviews about it so I wanted to try! It's located in a busy plaza so parking may be a little cramped and hard. Upon entering, the cafe is super spacious with lots of room to stand. They do have a few tables which can be used for a gathering. I ordered the Foam Matcha Latte which is their version of a double matcha! Each matcha latte is hand whisked which is pretty nice. The price of the matcha is cheaper than a lot of places which I was surprised, but I think it is because there wasn't any milk substitute options. I thought the flavor of the matcha was good, however, the matcha foam was not very creamy which was disappointing. I think I would just get the matcha latte on its own next time without the foam. read more

I can't say enough good things about Caffeine Society! Every time I come here, I can tell they truly take their time to make each drink perfect. My absolute favorite is the iced banana matcha--it's perfectly sweet without being overdone, and the balance of flavors is just amazing. What really makes this place special is the people. The whole family is incredibly kind and welcoming, and the service is always warm and genuine. I've brought my family and friends here multiple times because I honestly think it's the best matcha and coffee in town. The shop is always clean, the atmosphere is inviting, and you can tell they care about quality in everything they do. Whether you're a coffee lover or a matcha fan, Caffeine Society does it right. I feel so bad but this 1 star review has to be written because I need to offset the other good reviews. I don't know what everyone else is talking about but the drinks here were straight up terrible and offensive. the matcha was bland and grainy, the cream top was sweet but it did not save the drink because it doesn't homogenize together. the matcha was very low quality the orange cream top had a weird spicy powder on top and tasted artificial. I wish I never tried this place read more
I was trolling around Sac town and was in need of a quick coffee jolt. I was unfamiliar with area I was in , but opened up my trustee app to find a coffee nearby. I rolled into this semi new looking place and ordered a Matcha latte. It was just what I was looking for and it was perfect temperature and not too bitter. The counter guy Barista was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely grab a cup if I"m in the area again of Sacramento. read more

First time trying this place with my family. The cafe was clean and the staff was nice. We were the only ones in there and the staff was helpful. The drinks came out reasonably. The place had a chill vibe. I ordered a salted carmel coffee and my sister order a strawberry matcha. It was delicious, very smooth and strong coffee. read more

The matcha here was just okay for me. I ordered the matcha eispanner the first time and it was overwhelmed with cream, the ratio of cream to matcha was off. The second time I came, I tried the regular latte but the milk was taking over the taste of the matcha. I think the matcha could be stronger. Service was very fast and staffs were nice both times. read more
