While in Davis we decided to stop by Frenzy Coffee. It was super crowded. Every table was taken ranging from students to adults. Even a couple of dogs. It was also very warm inside. We decided to try their Miso Caramel Latte & my daughter ordered a Decaf Vanilla Latte. Our drinks took awhile to be made. And after one sip, we both threw our drinks away. The coffee tasted burnt. And I personally wasn't a fan of the miso flavor in my coffee.

This cafe is so nice! Having a big, well-lit space is such a plus for Davis! And to top it off with good coffee is just unbelievable. I was actually searching for a place that had pandan and then stumbled upon Frenzy Coffee. They have a very small and tight parking lot, but street parking is also abundant. What a great place to lounge, catch up with friends, or do some studying.

iced matcha pandan latte, good quality strong matcha but pandan wasn't for me

So excited to try a new independent coffee shop in Davis! I love the spacious interior with lots of seats and tables. The natural lighting and attention to detail with the decor really makes it a dream study/work spot. I tried the iced miso caramel latte, the iced matcha pandan, and the sea salt chocolate chip cookie. The iced miso caramel latte was delicious and perfectly balanced with the espresso. I probably wouldn't re-order the matcha pandan. The matcha was good quality and strong, but I feel like the pandan flavor didn't work for me. The cookie was pretty good. Excited to try more drinks and pastries in the future!

Nice interior, quick preparation, decent coffee! I liked the hot pandan latte. Tasted kinda like Raisin Bran lol The miso caramel latte was okay. Slightly bland unfortunately. Good place for students

Pandan Latte (SO GOOD!!!!)

OBSESSED. This place is spacious and super cute! The perfect place to study, chillax, or hang out. They have plenty of seating with outlets!!! The baristas mentioned that coffee drinks might take a bit longer to make because something was off with their coffee machine, but I still felt like we got our drinks in a timely manner! I got the pandan latte and it's an easy 5/5. I loooooooved the pandan flavor, it was delicious and not overbearing or overly sweet - it was perfect! I would definitely get that drink again and come here again.

Matcha Latte & Miso Caramel Matcha Latte

I've tried the miso caramel coffee latte before and was wondering how that combo would work for a matcha! The baristas were all very nice in giving their recommendations and insight about this combo as it's not a commonly ordered item. They all seem to genuinely care about the quality of the drinks which was really refreshing! The miso caramel matcha itself is definitely more suited for those who like miso. But it helps bring out the umami and nuttiness in the matcha. I wish it had a tad bit more caramel in it but overall, I'm glad I got to experience this combo! Frenzy's matchas definitely run on the less sweet side but they provide additional syrup that you can adjust to your taste!

The Matcha Pandan Latte (hot). A match made in green heaven.

The absolute best new coffee shop in Davis. From study space to hangout spot, Frenzy's got it covered and does so with an aesthetic, vibrant, and innovative enthusiasm. The Matcha Pandan Latte (hot) is exceptional, the subtle sweetness of the pandan rounds out any bitter or grassy notes from the matcha perfectly. A match made in green heaven. The Miso Caramel Latte is fantastic for those who don't like their lattes too sweet. A surprising combination of umami and caffeine that works well, though it may not be for everyone. Baristas are friendly, great service.

Love the open concept - probably one of the bigger cafe spaces in Davis. The pandan matcha was not too sweet, on the earthy side but still light, and had a nice toffee crumble on top that added fun textures. I do wish the flavors were a bit bolder, but it was a solid 4 out of 5 in my book.

Vanilla latte and chocolate croissant.

Went to check out Frenzy today and was impressed with the spacious size of this cafe. There is a lot of room for hanging out here. The cafe is broken up into three sections - the coffee bar in the middle, and 2 large areas to sit. There is a long table section that is great if you have a device as there are numerous outlets for you to charge your phone, tablet, or laptop. I found the interior of this cafe to be well lit and decorated - just an awesome ambiance! The menu of coffee isn't the largest, but they do have their own specialties that you can customize with the kind of milk you like. I went for their vanilla latte in the larger 16oz size. To go with it I got a chocolate croissant. The latte was decent, but certainly not the best I've had. It's too bad that they only have to-go cups as it would have been nice to enjoy the coffee in a proper cup while hanging out in the cafe. The chocolate croissant pasty wasn't anything special. The servers didn't give me an option to have it toasted or warmed, so I was a bit disappointed at that. Chocolate croissants are best when the chocolate is melted within the crisp pasty. As it came to me, the pastry was soft with the chocolate hard. So if you're looking for one of the best cafes to hang out or study at, Frenzy is probably the place for you. The food and coffee selection is what could be better here.

The study/work ambiance here is amazing! Lots of seating + outlet options available, I wish I lived closer to Davis to make it out here more often. I ordered their regular matcha latte but I probably could've gone with one of their specialty matcha flavors to make it more exciting lol. Service was very nice and quick as well! I'll definitely be back.

Frenzy Coffee is such a cute spot that I found thanks to TikTok! I gave my friend a ride to school at UC Davis and decided to stop by and check it out while I waited for her to finish class. This place was so cute with their green tiling, plants, natural lighting, and a wide open space. I don't live around here, but if I did, this would be the coffee shop I'd go to read a book or study. The service I received here was amazing as well. All the girls that were working the front were super friendly and helpful. They have classic coffees as well as unique drinks. I wouldn't say it's the best coffee I've ever had, but the experience here made the trip here worthy of this rating.

Super lovely awesome spacious place!!! It's a perfect setting for studying and relaxing with a pal. Large room, lots of seating from tables to stools to chairs to a couple couches.. and lots of outlets and free wifi!!! The music was pleasant and not too overbearing too. And kind workers! The drink selection is quite small but mighty! The pandan latte is sooo good. Strong yet yummy coffee taste but the pandan flavor comes out the more you drink it, and the crunchy toffee bits on top are super yummy. The matcha pandan is also yummy, but the matcha flavor is a lot stronger at first. Once the pandan kicks in, it's perrrfect though. (Or maybe I just needed to stir it more ? LOL) Good prices compared to other places too.

An amazing place to study/work, catch up with a friend, and just hangout! As other reviews mention, this place is SPACIOUS as hell, quite literally the largest coffee shop I've been to in Davis. There are also a generous amount of outlets and WiFi is holding steady as I write this! The menu is Asian-inspired. I got the pandan matcha as the barista recommended (shoutout Aizl) and enjoyed the coconut taste. It was a nice switch up from my go-to order of just matcha. Overall, this is a must to check out--great vibes, great seating, great drinks, great customer service.

Adorable atmosphere, but the wifi was slow/not working, and I paid $6.50 for a mid matcha that was the size of a cappuccino. I'm upset.

I won't go into the reasons why, but I wound up forgetting to order my coffee decaffeinated. I wound up ordering a Mexican mocha with almond milk and light whip. I also ordered a veggie scone. Both the barista and the person working the counter were friendly and nice. I LOVED the Mexican mocha. It wasn't too sweet (which I was worried about), didn't need sugar, but was delicious. It had a nice mix of the robust coffee flavor and the richness of the Mexican chocolate. The scone was good. I liked the mix of veggies and cheese. I think it would have been better if it were heated. This cafe is somewhat small. While there is a good amount of seating, it gets pretty packed in here. I'd say my biggest con of this cafe if you're drinking your coffee there are the seats and the lack of electrical outlets to charge your computer. The bar stools are pretty uncomfortable. I really could only sit the stool for about an hour. Since the stools didn't have a backrest, I started getting sore. I'd definitely get coffee here again.

I like that their drinks seem to be more about the quality of the tea versus having a ton of different flavor options. They open at a time I think is somewhat late in the day on weekdays (12pm), and there tends to be a least a few people waiting to get in by the time noon rolls around. Order at the kiosk. I've been getting the Cape Jasmine with Coconut Cream whenever I'm here (but do plan to try something new next time). The coconut cream really adds a lot to the drink, in my opinion, especially since I lowered the sweetness level. At Molly Jasmine, I do recommend keeping a higher sweetness level because otherwise the tea tends to taste a bit more bitter at first. The cream did blend into the drink to help balance out the taste, but as someone who tends to think drink / milk tea places tend to be overly sweet, you're drink likely won't be sweet enough if you reduce the sweetness at Molly Jasmine. It's a bright, open interior. Cutely decorated. Although, there's not a ton of seating. Great drink spot to check out.

So ofc when I was in town, I had to try it. This "Molly Tea" is not the same as the Bay Area's (no store listed in Davis on the official Molly Tea website) and is also known as "jasmine tea house" on Google Maps which confused me. Walking in there was a very unpleasant smell, almost like bleach/chlorine mixed with jasmine tea fragrance. (Not great!) We sat outside. However the drinks were not bad. Not as "presentable" as the authentic Molly Tea (no fancy straw or seal), but the osmanthus oolong milk tea was on par taste wise. Overall, it's a good "knock off molly tea" and satisfied our boba craving. It's good enough for Davis but def lacks the polish of real Molly Tea's.

The Cloudbreaker immediately met my taste buds with bitterness and then left my tongue completely numb for several minutes. Perhaps those sensations would have paid off if they were followed by a calming or THC-like effect, but I didn't experience any change in mental state. The comfortable atmosphere saves this establishment from 1 star. Dim lights, leather couches, chill music, and colorful tiki wall art make for a decent study spot or date night. However, if you're hanging out at a business, you gotta support it, and to support it, you gotta buy something -- I can't see myself buying anything kava-related with any ounce of enjoyment. Surely there must be some variation of a kava drink that tastes delightful. I don't want to spend any more money finding out though.
