I'm surprised I haven't written a review for Teaspoon Davis already. I used to come here all the time when I went to college and would stop by 2-3x a week on my walks home. I came by Teaspoon again a few days ago while in Davis for Picnic Day and I am happy to say that it's as good as it was before. The menu is smaller than other boba places, but each drink I've had here has been good. I love a blend of strong tea flavor and not overly sweetened milk tea, which is what they have to offer! My go-to drinks are their house milk tea or liquid gold, and when I want something fruity, I opt for their lychee black tea (aka lychee on lychee). I suggest getting the drinks half sweet if you don't want your drinks too bland but also not too sweet. The staff here has always been local college students who offer kind and speedy service. I'm never in here more than a few minutes unless I'm ordering a lot of drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's small inside the store so if there's a lot of people in line, it's best to wait outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's not really a place to sit down and chat, but to take your drink to go which is fine since it's located downtown. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is TINY compared to the other locations I've gone to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a grab and go place. No space to sit down and hang out like their other locations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just going in and out with others waiting for their drinks was a bit of a hassle. They have a touch screen to order drinks yourself which was helpful since one person was only working and it allowed him to just focus on making drinks instead of also taking drink orders. We dropped in on the way back from a scout trip with 5 scouts and one adult. Everyone got different drinks. My daughter got a caramel drink with boba and lychee (not a combo that makes sense to me), and she liked it. I had a Vietnamese frappe. It was quite tasty and the boba were good quality. The previous time we dropped in on a long drive, I had the taro lover. It was not as taro as I would have liked. Good but not over the top good. I've been here a couple of times, and I'd say they have some of the best brewed tea, but their milk tea isn't as impressive. I ordered the taro boba, and while the drink itself was good, the taro chunks tasted sour, almost like they had expired, which was disappointing. I also tried the Vietnamese coffee, it was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, I'd come back for the tea, but I probably wouldn't order the milk tea again. read more

I stopped in to get my hubby a drink of his choice yesterday for Father's Day, as well as something for myself. After all I helped make him a father lol! Hubby said he absolutely loved the flavor of the Flamingo, that's apart of their new Watermelon Series, minus the seeds. I loved their signature Caramel Cream with added Oreo! Im an all time fan favorite of teaspoon. I always order their new drinks and usually I'm very satisfied except for one reoccurring factor, sweetness. Their varying levels of sweetness for the drinks is something that always throws me off when ordering a new drink. I never know how the sweetness will be since some drinks are extremely sweeter than others, even without the toppings. I think keeping the consistency of sweetness levels between the drinks would be a big level up. The service is always prompt and their teas are good quality. We were grabbing food in Davis and I spotted a Teaspoon nearby. I placed an order online and went to pick it up shortly afterwards. The coffee jelly was good. Silky and firm. I actually had meant to get normal boba, but I guess in my haste, I chose crystal boba instead. It was actually a nice mistake. Lighter with a good chew. The tea itself I found kinda weak. I didn't pick up on the roasted flavor of the tea leaves. I like my tea strength strong, so that was kinda disappointing. Stopped in for the first time here. It's a small shop but super friendly staff. While I was ordering, I overheard 2 separate customers ask to remake their drinks. They really want their customers to be satisfied with their drink. I wanted to order the taro but they were out so I chose the coconut coffee with Boba with 25% sweetness and no ice. It was good. This cute place is located in downtown Davis and as soon as I entered, we were immediately greeted by kindness. I ordered the Caramel cream and it was so delicious and refreshing -- perfect for any occasion and especially on a warm day. They had a few snack options as well which included macarons. I know I would come back and try different drinks off the menu and of course, grab myself some macarons. This is a very small space with not much room. However, the neat thing is that they have a website with their full menu -- you can order ahead and select the day/time that works for you to pick up, they have kiosks upon walking in so you can order that way or you can order with the employee. Came here in a Thursday afternoon around 2:30pm. It was easy to find its right across the movie theater. You can do self order or walk up to the counter and place an order there we decided to walk up and talk to someone. Was warmely greeted by the gentleman behind the counter, I had questions about the menu, what was popular and what was preferred. I got my husband the classic Thai tea with no Boba, for myself, I got a iced milk honey jasmine green tea and a Vietnamese coffee latte. Everything was made so fast sealed in it to me in a bag. Decent boba, their pearls have a great brown sugar flavor and it's more on the softer side. However I'd say the prices of the drinks are a bit expensive considering to me it's average decent boba. Their Thai milk tea was a bit too sweet and was not adjustable, but overall it is decent. Probably more of a last resort boba place for me! read more

For two of us the large would have been too much. Restrooms- They have one unisex bathroom in back. Thankfully you don't need a code to go in. It was clean and well supplied. Parking- There is plenty of parking as they share a private lot with the shopping center. It's nothing like downtown Davis where parking is scarce and there is a time limit. Interesting assortment of flavors between the fruits, yogurt, brown sugar, and sticky rice; they contrast each other quite a bit yet but taste pretty good overall. The brown boba leaves a nice aftertaste. I do think that the drink could use a smaller proportion of sticky rice the flavor opposes the rest of the ingredients the most. Return yes, same drink maybe.

We decided to order the BBQ pork buns because it's always a go to for us, and we figured we'd peruse the menu while we were enjoying the buns. The buns arrived at the table, and they were immediately visibly noticeably different, but it wasn't until we tried them that we noticed that there's also a huge taste differential. There was very little filling compared to what we're used to. It was mostly bun, more than anything else. When the buns were placed on the table, there was no contact with us/the table to find out how we we're doing, about the food, etc. Very much felt like a churn and burn moment. Based on the lack of Customer Service, and poor food quality, we opted to not waste any more time or money, and we would find another place to dine at. I like that you pick a style which includes a set of toppings, instead of selecting the toppings individually. I bet that saves a lot of time. We both got the Delilah's Style which has seaweed salad, cucumbers, surimi crab, wonton chips, edamame, mangoes, massago, furikake and unagi sauce. If you like it spicy, I would get the Tropical Style with spicy mayo. Ahi and Salmon were fresh with mild (but tasty) seasoning that's not too much that you can still taste the fish. I absolutely love the wonton chips. This is not the typical wonton chips. Incredibly crunchy and thicker pieces. The toppings are vibrant, fresh and delicious! The portions are generous. I couldn't finish it in one sitting. Next time I go back I want to try the sushi wrap and musubis. This is a hidden gem in Davis.
