Max had me hit balls with different clubs and shared basic form set up instructions and tips, which were helpful. Besides that this was rather disappointing. I didn't feel welcomed when I arrived or excited about golf by the time if left in any way. I didn't love being on camera the whole time, especially when the video was not really used for the coaching feedback. The whole experience could have been better with just some minor tweaks. Made me think I should just stick with YouTube to learn the game. Probably better for an intermediate or serious golfer with a mission to improve a specific aspect of their form. When you start golfing in your 30s, you need a lot of help to become remotely decent at golf. I have taken a lot of lessons, from star instructors (Gankas, Porzak, Dahlquist etc) to random range guys. The star instructors are great, but the prices are steep... and no one can save you in one lesson. They also work with many high profile players, so they don't have time for you outside of your lesson. On the other end of the spectrum is the random range guys. The instruction can be questionable here. Some of them are decent, but the upsell is hard. You're their primary income source, so sometimes that clouds the focus. After lots of trial & error and money / time, I've finally found the perfect balance. Max offers the insights of those star instructors. He provides practical advice that helps quickly. He is also accessible and flexible in communicating "off the clock". He's also reasonably priced, because it takes learning and maintenance to play good golf. I am not compensated. Far exceeded my expectations... Max is NEXT LEVEL! I wanted to write a review about Max Allen because he has literally gone above and beyond to help support me in my golf game and journey. He has completely rebuilt my swing from grip, to set up, to take away, to position at the top, to angle of attack and club pathway including contact and finish. To summarize, I was a PGA apprentice over 30 years ago and stopped playing regularly because our sons got into baseball and my wife and I did everything we could to support them. I started coaching baseball and my wife libby handled the team mom and team party stuff. So I stopped for 25 years. This past August I took golf back up and found Max through a friend. I've had regular lessons since August and have improved from a 18 handicap bogey golfer to a 11.6 handicap and have broken 80 - 3 times in the last month. I continue to work with Max to improve and get to my short term goal of being a single digit handicapper and long term goal of being a scratch golfer. Had I met Max a few years earlier, he would have been the best man at my wedding. As an adult, I developed a passion for golf, but grew continuously frustrated with putting in so much work at the range with no results, consistency, or the confidence that what I was doing was "correct". I found Swingworx from Yelp and didn't really know what to expect. I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed. I was trying to get my daughter back into golf and she was getting frustrated, even though she was getting lessons every week and practicing. Her swing was really off and was the steepest I have ever seen. Max fixed her swing after only three weeks and she has progressed from a 36+ handicap to now a 20 handicap in only a few short months. I have always had an interest in learning the game of golf. For a lot of years, it was simply going to the range , hitting a bucket of balls and hoping for the best. As is the case with most amateur golfers, this never led to any real improvement. My wife and I finally decided to go visit Max at Swingworx a few months ago. I found Swingworx by PURE LUCK or by a divine blessing. I was at my wits end with golf. In June of 2021, I played 4 times 3 being mens tournaments and a casual round at TPN. Simply put, Max is a phenomenal golf guru. I've been playing the game for a short period of time, about a year and a half, and went to 3 different golf instructors without much noticeable improvement or even a solid understanding of swing concepts from those sessions. So having played golf badly for over 25 years my wife gifted me lessons for Christmas. I was not sure if I wanted the usual fair of a golf pro giving me instruction at a course or someone who could combine more of a bio mechanical look at my swing with one on one instruction. As it happens I was referred to Max through friends and thought that i would go take the assessment he was offering to see if there was a fit. Needless to say there was ..Max asked me what my goals and targets were and what i wanted at the end of the sessions and simply told him some level of consistency. I had always been frustrated having hit a good shot never being able to subsequently repeat it. I took a five session package with Max over an 8 week period and practiced hard in between. I would say my improvement is measurable following Max's patient and clear instruction. I am making more consistent contact with the ball, my set up and posture is more aligned, I hit the ball straighter and further but still struggle with follow through which Max is able to help me with long after my sessions had expired by sending him video which he reviews and critiques. The technology, sensors and cameras Max uses in his studio are state of the art and really help see where adjustments need to be made as well as before and after replays.
