I watched 1,374 (or so it seems) YouTube videos and I still couldn't hit the driver straight, but after my first lesson with Fred, I now get it and got it! Yah more practice is required but I now know how to fix it as the ebb and flow of my skill narrows into solid muscle memory. As for my lovely wife, she went from playing a slicing croquet game to actually hitting golf balls straight and with some distance. She's happy, I'm happy, the folks in the adjoining fairway are happy (Fouuurrr!). Now I'm trying to get my son to take a some lessons. I can't speak highly enough about Lee. He is extremely low key, knowledgeable, polite, humorous, perceptive, articulate and talented. He picks up on the most seemingly subtle flaw in your swing or technique, articulates why this flaw is hurting your game and how, then will take the club and demonstrate the flaw in slow motion then at full speed. He then shows you how to correct the flaw, and hands the club back to you. At the end of the lesson, he challenges you to self-diagnose what you have done wrong, and asks you to explain what you need to alter to correct it. The technology is totally impressive, from the typical Virtual hitting metrics to the 3D mapping of your swing path, to the roll of your golf ball during putting! I am a long time TaylorMade user so I was excited to try out the new SiM2 woods and irons. Ben expertly fitted me with a 1/2" longer shaft as I am 6'3" and getting older, appreciate proper spine position more than ever. He also hooked me up with a driving iron for the 4 and 3 iron as I am not a fan of utility clubs and those babies were sweet. Getting the ball up with my fairway 3wood has been a challenge so we went with a 1.5% increase in loft to really make this easy. Finally, I went with the new Spider putter with 45 degree beveled ridges on the face, great feel. Ben was great to work with. It was the fastest 3.5 hrs of my life. As I have gotten older I have lost distance. My rhythm seemed out of wack and my driver produced…read morea slice. I had seen Don a few years ago and remembered how knowledgeable he was as an instructor. Don had me take a few practice swings and stopped me, then told me that we needed to work on grip, setup, tempo and turn for more distance. I had been using the wrong grip for me, it was not natural, my setup was off and I was not producing enough club head speed for distance. After correcting those issues I developed a nice rhythmic swing, my iron shots are longer and I can produec a nice baby draw with more distance. I have played two rounds of golf since spending a session with Don and my scores have dropped. Especially in my last round my distance has improved. It is such a great feeling to have more enjoyment in the game I love so much.
