I watched 1,374 (or so it seems) YouTube videos and I still couldn't hit the driver straight, but after my first lesson with Fred, I now get it and got it! Yah more practice is required but I now know how to fix it as the ebb and flow of my skill narrows into solid muscle memory. As for my lovely wife, she went from playing a slicing croquet game to actually hitting golf balls straight and with some distance. She's happy, I'm happy, the folks in the adjoining fairway are happy (Fouuurrr!). Now I'm trying to get my son to take a some lessons. Side note: I love the metal targets at each distance, much better than flags. Things I learned: feel vs real. (my head moves back more than I thought, left arm position at impact etc) While the new student assessment isn't really a traditional golf "lesson", there's still a ton of things i learned watching the replays and will take that info back with me to practice. Ideally after this, you would then schedule your next "traditional" golf lessons to improve on the issues discussed. If I still lived in SD, I absolutely would come back for more lessons.

Today was the worst golf experience I have ever had. The club manager Eric said they can't "police"…read moreabusive dangerous behavior from other players. The men behind us hit into us, shouted at us, taunted us & then lost it screaming at the course employee who asked them to behave better. They bragged that they didn't get kicked off the course. They were mad at the pace of play but it was backed up for several holes so we were waiting on the people in front of us. They hit into us dangerously & laughed & then yelled calling us babies for asking them to stop hitting into us. Mostly we've had good experiences the last few years but more & more there has been people hitting into groups in front (& not yelling 4) & aggressive abusive behavior to us & others. When it's reported nothing has been done but today was really awful & Eric says management has no obligation to enforce better (or even safe) behavior. It seems like the bad behavior is mostly directed at women & groups that include women. The course is maintained at a mediocre level and they are often running the lawnmowers during play (which can slow down play) but it's a nice course ruined by increasing bullies who know they can be rude, dangerous & inappropriate & not have consequences.

There's numerous large mud pockets on every hole and along the border of the grass going from hole to hole. I went into one of the bunkers today, which was really soaked, muddy and actually had pools of water in it. Additionally, the greens aren't in the best shape. After the front nine, I stopped in the pro shop to complain about the excessive watering and show him the pics I took of it, but he didn't want to see or hear what I had to say. He said that people complain about it every day and he reports it, but nothing changes. He told me to contact the manager over at the links (Eric), which I did and he was of no help. Also, I played with two other people so I was solo in my cart and was charged the full $24 cart fee, which is ridiculous. Don't waste your time/$ playing here.
