Steve Vaughan Golf Lessons - Steve Vaughn teaches proper golf form and swing. Great lessons - Golf Lessons Near Me - Carlsbad, California

I have been struggling with my swing for decades. Trying swing aids, you tube videos and even a few lessons from different. Every time my swing was worse and i had come to terms there was no real hope of me playing solid golf. I gave Steve a try just out of pur luck and OMG am I glad I did!!!! He broke down my swing and I immediately understood what he was doing and saw immediate results. Finally I could figure out what I was actually doing wrong and not what I thought I was doing wrong. I now enjoy working on my swing and know I can get to a solid player soon. I would recommend him to ANYONE who wans to get better and Steve will make you swing the club better!!! read more

Love getting lessons from Steve man, he really brings it home. My swing always feels better...a lot better after my lessons from him. Those bad habits keep coming back and I have to remember everything he taught me to keep myself grounded. Definitely the best teacher in San Diego. Highly recommend lessons from Steve read more

After golfing with some friends I realized if I'm going to be any good at golf its gonna take some lessons. With a quick yelp search I found Steve and booked a lesson. Steve is patient, fun and informative. The 1st lesson pretty much went over form during a swing and hitting some balls. When I was able to do what Steve showed me I actually had some nice swings. I'm back home now writing this review and I'm excited to take some more lessons. Thanks Steve! read more

I've seen huge improvements after only a couple lessons. Highly recommend. I am a beginner and thought I could improve myself based on some YouTube videos and hitting up the range from time to time. I suppose given enough time, I would have improved. But Steve sped things up substantially and also nipped a lot of bad habits I was starting to develop. read more

Steve has help change my game in just 2 lessons! High recommend! Thanks for the help!

Steve Vaughan provided my best ever lesson this morning! In a short 30 minutes Steve fixed my driver swing ("change the grip, turn the body") and had me hitting drives of "269-273 yards" on a consistent basis. Candidly I wasn't using my new Callaway driver, due to confidence issue, and this club "hardly came out of the bag during daylight" and I nicknamed it "Dracula" ha ha not anymore. Steve's next student brought him a loaf of home made bread as a gift, I only have a great Yelp review this time..... read more

Steve is exactly what you need in a golf instructor; patient, observant and encouraging. He takes the mental part of the game and condenses it into the necessary parts. He listens to what you're feeling in the golf swing and provides insight to what you feel vs what is actually occurring during the golf swing. I've had close to 10 lessons with Steve and every one of them has me coming away as a better golfer, mechanically and mentally. read more

Steve is phenomenal. He took me from essentially not knowing how to hold a club (shooting 120s) to a confident swing (shooting in the 90s) that is improving each day. My first (of 2 so far) lessons with him was less than a month ago, and I bought a 5-pack of lessons after our first one. He has a way of simplifying what you need to change/do that is so effective. read more

Really great lesson. Steve took the time to show me what to work on for my swing. You could tell it was very personalized. He showed what to do and what not to do and what happens when you swing the club incorrectly. Cant wait to go back! read more

The man is a golf genius but even a better instructor. He is always positive and brings out the best in you. Very unusual skill. He can turn your game around in one lesson. Try it, you'll be amazed. read more

I started seeing Steve 2 years ago when I was a 20+ handicap. I've probably taken 12 lessons with him over those 2 years and I'm now down to an 8 handicap. For what he charges and the value he provides, you won't find a better instructor in north county. read more

Had a great lesson with Steve - he made quick work of analyzing my swing, took videos and showed me what was wrong, giving me easy pointers on how to fix it. He really optimized our hour at the range and didn't hold back information, even stating that he probably lost me as a client since he knows I'll be able to get my swing in order with his tips. I've already recommended him to a few of my friends and will continue to do so. When I feel it's time for another lesson, I'll definitely be going back to Steve. read more

Steve is simply a great guy that has a passion for wanting his students to be better at the game and have fun doing it. I've taken lessons from him for the past few months and he's been able to take 30 years of bad habits and actually turn me into something that resembles a golfer. He's patient and methodical in teaching how to properly swing a golf club. No goofy contraptions, hula hoops, straight jackets or any gimmick you see in an infomercial. Just real coaching on how to properly play the game. Most importantly helps you understand why good shots are good and bad shots are body by helping you feel what the body is actually doing. With the price of equipment and greens fees, lessons from Steve is the best investment in your game. read more

Great experience and very insightful on improving my game. I would recommend to friends and family

I have been playing golf casually for 15 years, but got serious about getting better 3 years ago. Took 25 lessons from an instructor who taught the stack and tilt method. Worked hard at it, but just could not break 100 on the course. Frustrated with my game and grounding my clubs, I decided to take a lesson with Steve Vaughan, based on all his great reviews. Steve had me warm up and observed my swing. He said somebody taught you that swing, (he called stack and quit) "we need to scrap that and start over". Within 1/2 hour I was striking the ball with ease, long and straight. He is a wizard when it comes to correcting bad swings. I look forward to getting better at golf with Steve's help. read more

Steve is a true professional. His approach to teaching is direct, and I found the results to be immediate. I had a lot of flaws in my swing from years of playing incorrectly. I was inconsistent because I was not aware of the things I was doing wrong. Any teaching pro can point that out, but few take the time to build the swing from the ground up. Steve patiently showed me the correct way to play the game, and it's made a world of difference! He is easily one of the most respected golfers in the industry. You'd be lucky to work with him. read more

Went to Steve for 3 lessons. Had never taken lessons before, learned golf just by playing with buddies. My score coming in was 117 - it was ugly. After 2 lessons I shot a 99. 2 LESSONS! Golf is actually enjoyable now. Steve is very patient, very calm, and extremely positive. He's got the tools - complete video swing analysis. And there are worse places to be than the range at The Crossings, where you look up and see the Pacific Ocean. I'm going to play a few more rounds, see how my swing develops over time, and come back to Steve again. 100% good investment. read more

I've taken lessons from multiple pro golf instructors -- Steve is the hands down best. In my first lesson, he had me hitting balls like I never had before. Highly, highly recommend. read more

Never swung a club but want to learn how to play? Go see Steve. Love the game and want to break 80? Go see Steve. Hate the game that you used to love because you now suck? Go see Steve! Go and get taught how to play the game correctly by a pro. Steve Vaughan will not only make you better, but he will help you to understand your swing so you can also learn to help yourself. A lesson, or a series of lessons from Steve will be the best money you spend on your golf game. I guarantee it. I cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

We call Steve "The Miracle Worker" in our house, because he has an insane ability to make HUGE improvements in a crazy short amount of time. I have been instructed by Steve since I started golfing seven years ago. Being a late starter to the game, I wanted to learn the proper techniques from day one. Steve definitely has started me on the right path. Since then, I have been to several other instructors, none of which can compare with Steve. He has an ability to quickly pinpoint your major flaws, and begin to correct just that specific area. You know how it is with some instructors, Don't move your head, Shift your Weight, Watch your wrist, Check your swing plane, Keep your tempo, Now SWING!!! Then they give you a look of disgust after you almost fall over after your swing because you are so confused!! I hate those douchebags!!!!!! Steve not only produces immediate results, he does it calmly, clearly and adds humor into it as well. He has several different lesson packages to choose from that will fit any schedule or budget. If you get a foursome together, you can have a class to yourself. Plus, some lessons include video swing analysis and his own personally invented golf swing tools that actually work. Look, golf is already stupidly expensive. If you are going to take lessons, and last time I checked all the pros still take lessons, don't waste your money on some douche that can steer your game into the next fairway. Steve is the one you want!!! read more

I've had lessons from a few teaching professionals through the years but none of them could help me overcome my biggest flaw, casting. Steve assured me that this usually a compensation for other actions in the swing. He quickly identified the problem a f by the end of the first hour lesson I was striking the ball much cleaner and more consistent. Went and played 9 holes after the lesson and the difference in my ball striking was night and day. Would recommend to anyone considering taking a lesson or series of lessons. read more

Still beaming from the first hour I spent with Steve yesterday on the range. Worth every single penny for a person looking to improve. I've taken lessons with a number of pros in the past, but something about working with Steve clicked for me. He has a very easy going nature and made things really understandable to me, while keeping the principles he was teaching very simple and very visual, which to me are critical. I'll be heading back for many more sessions. read more

I had given up on golf about 15 years ago because I just couldn't get the swing down. Being put in a situation where I needed to play golf for a work outing I took some lessons from Steve Vaughan (four lessons so far). I had taken lessons over 15 yrs prior but nothing comparable to what Steve provided. He has a way of breaking down your swing and correcting it step by step without making you feel inadequate. He is extremely patient and good at what he does. Needless to say the golf outing was a success and I have acquired the nickname of "Sand Bagger." I can't thank you enough Steve and will most definitely continue with additional lessons. read more

I would recommend Steve over and over again. He has a number of affordable options and the instruction is right on. I was having a big problem coming over the top when I started my downswing and had some lessons with other instructors to help correct the problem (all with little success). One lesson with Steve and he pointed out an issue with my hips that has virtually eliminated my slice (a result of coming over the top, which creates an outside-in swing path at the point of impact). If you are in the area, just drop in on one of his group lessons and you will be hooked ... well, hooked isn't the right word, but you get the idea! read more

Let me start by saying that I had never held a golf club before until I took a lesson from Steve. So far I have taken 5 lessons and I must say that he is an amazing instructor. With the little instruction I have had so far, I was able to beat two of my friends that have been golfing for about 10 years. I must say than neither of them has taken a lesson before which worked to my advantage. With Steve's instruction, an excellent set of clubs (Callaway - Diablo Edge) and my good hand eye coordination I have been able to keep up with my friends. I highly recommend Steve as a golf instructor. read more

Has anyone ever had the shanks? Has anyone ever tried to cure the shanks? that's correct, nobody except God can cure the shanks. Steve Vaughan is God. That is all that needs to be said. thank you read more

I've been taking lessons from Steve for several years. It all started when I watched him practicing his short game in the Crossings' short game area. Not only was his technique smooth, it was at the end of a long day of teaching. I think all pros should care enough about their game to want to play. So the first few lessons I took with Steve, we spent 1/2 hour on the long game and 1/2 hour at that same short game area. He loves to use simple items as training aids. A towel behind the ball to help me make cleaner contact. An upside down plastic range bucket on the short game area to help me take the club back square instead of pulling it inside and flipping it after impact. I played golf in a tournament with one of his young students and was impressed at his swing and approach to the game. Steve keeps it simple, and you won't feel like you need a month of recovery before you head back out on the course. I'm usually hitting it better the next day. read more

Steve was great! I highly recommend lessons with him. My swing improved immediately and he was very helpful to identify my issues and bad habits. read more

If you are looking for a guy that just gets it, call Steve. I have never written a review but due to the help that Steve has provided in only two lessons. I felt like I would be doing a disservice to anyone looking for lessons. After a few years of not playing after having two children I found myself hitting everyone iron 80 yards and a complete shank. One lesson with Steve right before a round at the Crossings I was able to play and at least compete with my friends. My second lesson was today and we dug a little bit deeper on plan, shoulders, etc. I played an exc today and shot 10 over. I would not only recommend Steve but make it mandatory for anyone that wants to play better. read more
