Before trying GOLFTEC, I went with a couple of private lessons as a complete newbie and didn't have a brilliant time. The swing evaluation at GolfTEC really clicked with me though; you're provided with instant visual feedback (side view & down the line) and metrics on every swing. I walked out of there with the 3-month/10-lesson plan and it's been great fun! The swing evaulation fee was waived, and you even get a fitting thrown in for free also as part of the plan. That I enjoyed my time there is mainly down to the instructor, Don Luvsan, who's been a fantastic coach! Equal parts creative in his methodology, and patient in his delivery and reinforcement. He's a real asset to the facility and I've greatly appreciated my time under his tutelage. Thanks in no small part to Don, I've got a much more consistent swing, and I know why from all the visual feedback. In fact, I just posted my best score on a round this weekend, and have tons more confidence from any situation because we've walked through all of it during the sessions, and all the feedback and video summaries of my lessons are in the online portal if ever I need a refresher. They've got a great sale (which appears to be annual) through the month of August, so I'd encourage you to give Don a call for a swing evaluation and see if the coaching resonates with you. Mileage may vary, but with the 'Game Plan' i signed up for, you get to practice at the facility 3 times a week outside of your usual lesson. When things were quiet, Don was always happy to poke his head in to check on me and work through some sticking points. All that's left is the fitting. The staff member I had my lesson with was good. It was one of the other guys that came in and cut my lesson short. Walked in all cocky, "hey I have a lefty that just got here so I'm going to need this bay". He Didn't even wait to see if there was another bay available to finish my lesson. Just f'n ended right there. They could've at least scheduled me for a lesson another time. At their expense at that. read more

Steve Montalto is very knowledgeable and is able to communicate that knowledge very well. My game has improved and that is because my swing has improved. I've removed several bad habits that cause direction and distance inconsistency under his tutelage. He is entertaining and patient and will be complementary or critical as my lessons have progressed. Had a club fitting for wedges with Brad Pharis. The process started with a phone call the day before, where I listed the clubs I was interested in, and how I use them. I came in excited to try the new wedges on the market, with every intention of purchasing them through Golftec. When I first arrived, Brad started by taking some measurements. He made a few negative comments on how he thought my fingers were crooked and my arms sat too far forward. I brushed it off with a chuckle, and a comment about how I've broken many of them in high school sports and the military. He followed that by explaining that the "numbers" weren't going to tell me anything. Essentially saying that getting fitted for wedges is a waste of my time and money. I started making some swings for the tracker, and asked what type of shots he wanted me to make. All he wanted me to hit was a 3/4 swing. For all the wedges. Didn't ask me how I used my existing wedges, or to hit any other types of shots. He started with two different manufacturers that weren't on my list from the day before. As I thought, I didn't like the feel or look at address. Finally got to the wedges I asked for, and he started criticizing my swing, with an emphasis on the differential in ball speed from one shot to the next. Hit some more balls and the machine started glitching. He explained this by saying it was my fault, and that he couldn't delete the duplicate shots from the tracker without causing it to crash. In effect distorting the numbers for that line of wedges. When I finally settled in on the preferred wedge manufacturer (titliest SM8) I was informed that they didn't have one of the lofts I was looking for (50 degree). Brad explained that they couldn't have all the lofts for each brand because they would have an infinite amount of wedges. No variation (bounce/grind) of a 50 degree for the new Vokey line. Would have been nice to know beforehand. After reviewing the data, Brad again explained that the numbers weren't helpful. He made a number of other negative comments making it clear he didn't approve of my swing. He said "I'm not trying to sell you lessons but...". Upon request, he begrudgingly provided his "expert" opinion on which clubs he thought were best for my game. "If I had to recommend a club for you, I guess it would be the SM8". Overall, I'm sure Brad knows what he's talking about, more than me anyway. However, the services I was charged $125 for was absolutely useless. In fact, it did more harm than good. If the numbers aren't helpful, why not focus on the feel and have me hit all the shots I would typically hit with each? I am looking for the professional to guide me in selecting what's best for my apparently lacking game (18 index), and provide for confidence in that decision. I have had mixed results with Golftec over the years, and after this experience I will not return. FYI - I was also going to get fitted for a driver, but Golftech didn't have the G425, so we omitted that fitting from this visit, with the understanding I would come back once received. I went to Golfmart right after, hit all the clubs I wanted, received positive input from the staff, and took home the wedges I wanted the same day. Also hit all the new drivers there too. I will be buying the new SIM2 at Golfmart, in addition to the wedges. The service and guidance from their associate was free, by the way. Plus they matched the 10% JC discount. read more

The coaching is 2nd to none as a retired U.S. Marine would say. I have taken lessons at GOLFTEC on two different occasions and the results were incredible. I decided after a few years that I needed a tune-up. Something I should have done at least a year or so ago. Glad I am back Dennis Furlong has helped me in a way that I am so thankful for as I was just struggling with my driver most of all. My advise to all golfers, just like the pro's. I had a fitting a few weeks back with Mike. This was my first fitting, and I am very new to golf. I elected to do a complete bag fitting to figure out what I need, hopefully. I was given some AP2s from a friend, so I could stop renting clubs. I was immediately and repeatedly told my grip was bad, and if we changed it now, we would not get accurate readings. I tried a few different clubs with different shafts. I believe I was doing alright? The stats were not explained to me or what I should be focusing on--the same experience with the drivers. I tried two putters and was given a thumbs up. I didn't try and any hybrids or wedges. Pretty much given the same information for my irons. I feel like I wasted $200. read more

Really great coaches, very convenient. Scott has done wonders for my ball striking. They have been really professional with reopening after Covid 19. It is a bit more expensive, but worth the investment if you want to improve your game. If you are looking to improve your golf game I would highly recommend GolfTec. When I first started Andrew Marr told me he could fix my slice. I told him he couldn't. He told me I will have you hitting a draw. Yes, I just smiled and said right pal. Well to make a long story short he delivered the goods. I have learned a great deal about golf having Andrew as a coach. Before I started I was shooting in the low 100's. Today I am a 15.6 handicap and I have even shot 78 twice and shot par three times playing 9 holes. If you want to improve your game remember this, what gets measured improves. I've been playing golf since high school, but have been taking it seriously for about 2 years. Lately I've been struggling with pulls to the left and pull hooks. I went in for an appointment for swing analysis with Kevin Eden and immediately he was able to detect what I was doing wrong in the swing and came up with a solution in a practical way. I might be hard pressed to find anything I can recommend as highly as GolfTec. My only regret is that I spent about 20 YEARS before GolfTec trying to figure things out on my own plus the occasional lesson here and there. Literally 20 years after seeing the same problem on video no matter how many different things I tried to fix it. After only a couple lessons with David Mowery plus practice in between, I finally saw myself with a swing path and other details on video that I never thought I would see. Fast forward 6 months and I just shot the best round of my life (76), breaking 80 for the first time in about five years, and will have the lowest index of my life at the next update (about 10.5). David Mowery and the other pros at GolfTec (Rob, Scott, Brad) are all terrific, but the lessons are only part of the story with GolfTec. The video (front and side views), simulator, training tools, and the data readouts for shoulder turn/tilt, hip turn/tilt, etc. are the key difference makers. The combination allows the pro to take out much of the guesswork as to what is going on with the swing, and then sets up the best way to work from there to change and reinforce. The typical packages come with unlimited practice for the period of time in the package. The practice is critical to implementing the changes from the lessons. Full video, training aids and simulator for all practice sessions. At the range, it is a big guess whether you are actually doing what you think you are doing; at GolfTec practice, you can see it with every swing. In addition to using practice to reinforce the lesson changes, use of the simulator is also a great way to learn carry distances for all clubs and experiment with different shots. Putting, short game and on-course playing lessons are also terrific. Even new club evaluation, advice and ordering. The member web portal is equally impressive. Video from each lesson is available to watch again through the website. It is very helpful to remember all those details the pro mentioned which would normally just be forgotten after a few days. Having the ability to make lesson and practice bookings/cancellations online is great; there is also a portal to track scores, fairways, GIRs and putts with suggested metrics to reach based on your goal handicap. Boy I just can't say enough good things about this place and my instructor Andrew Marr, and their approach to golf lessons. I have always had lessons throughout my golfing life...about 25 years...but even though I've had some great instructors, none have come close to matching what golftec has been able to do. In the past I would go get a lesson and an instructor would put it on video and have me work on a specific thing, and off I would go to practice whatever it was I was working on. A few weeks later I would go back and on video I would see that while I thought I was doing what I was supposed to be doing...I was not. I had basically wasted all that time working on the wrong things, feeling like I was getting into a certain position or making a certain move, when in fact I wasn't even close. This scenario would play out over and over again, with the result being no progress and a lot of frustration. And its not the instructors fault, I've had some world class instructors. With golftec, since my practice sessions alone are also on video as well, I can see that I am actually working on and achieving what it is I am supposed to do. My confidence in my game has gone up exponentially and I'm enjoying golf more than ever. My index has dropped 4 points in a year and the trend is still down. Again, I can't say enough about golftec.
