I spoke with Vic Calicchia about getting a fitting. I really wanted to take my time and do it correctly. Don't rush...just like a good swing. Vic was the guy. Not once was I or my spouse acknowledge. Not even a greeting at the door while you had 2 workers at the front were talking to each other. Workers passed by and not helped once. I needed a shirt from the top rack and not one attendant came. I just could never come back. The worker taking his smoke break outside however gave me a smile. I recently visited this golf store with my cousin and had a terrible experience. The staff was extremely rude and didn't acknowledge me at all. It felt like they were being racist, as they were friendly and helpful to other customers but completely ignored my cousin and I. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will never go back. Also, when I gave them my feedback on Google, they told me to send my complaint to an email that was faulty and not active. I'm sure it was on purpose. Do not shop here. read more

If you are any shade of brown good luck getting any service, I went to this location and stood in front of the register for about 15 mins not once was I acknowledged, by the people working at the cash registers. Got to the point where even the customer ringing up kept looking back and forth wondering who was gonna help me. Ended up waiting until someone asked my girlfriend if she needed help in which I finally asked if I could see the price of some Oakley glasses they had, in which the employee went up to the glass case ( as if the price was visible which it wasn't) then told me he would find out the price. Told me he needed keys to open the case where he left went into the back for another 5 mins in which he didn't bring any keys back. Had a conversation with his coworker about something else then went to the original glass case he needed keys for reached underneath the desk and instantly opened them. There isn't a whole lot to look forward to when shopping here. The club fitting area is OK. I didn't feel like I was set up properly. Generally the staff are friendly but I did notice that they didn't speak to me so much as they did my husband. I felt like I had all the more questions and what not but because he's the one who is more familiar with the game, they didn't want to talk to me so much as they did him. He left, only having purchased a TM hat. Used clubs sell for reasonable prices. Unfortunately, I feel like they really low balled us on some trade in values on some clubs that my hubby had bought in. Parking is easy and ample, not to mention free. Again, there wasn't anything that really excited me about this store. This felt like the usual visit to any other golf super store. Eh. OK. read more

What a great experience! I'm an avid golfer and a bit of an equipment junky. I recently went through a complete equipment overhaul and the guys at Golfmart were awesome. Kyle helped me get into some great new clubs and Craig was super accommodating in helping me get into a new cart bag. Kyle was really helpful in my fitting and helped me understand what the number meant, what was causing the ball to do what it was doing. I had a great experience at The Golf Mart in Escondido with a salesman named Vic Calicchia and a manager named Mark. I have arthritis pain in my hands, wrists and elbows which affects my golf game. Vic listened, treated me with respect and patiently led me through several club and grip options that significantly decreased my pain level and improved my performance. He also took the time to give me swing and grip instruction while we were evaluating different clubs. I decided to trade in my original irons for a new set and am so glad I did. The manager Mark gave me a very fair trade in value and also gave me a discount on my new set of irons. I see other posts of similarity so will share that EVERY time I walk in here there are 2-4 employees behind the cashier desk area. NEVER have I been acknowledged when I enter the front door. Went in Friday with 11 clubs in tow for new grips...stood there a moment and had to get their attention to ask if I should proceed to the back for this service. I always figure it's because I'm a woman but since there are posts in this regard from men, I now know it isn't a Gender issue, just BAD MANAGEMENT AND TRAINING! Too bad since this is one of the only golf stores in the area so I regretfully must continue to go here... PITY THAT SOMEONE AT GOLF MART DOESN'T PAY ATTENTION TO SOCIAL MEDIA REVIEWS AND TAKE ACTION SINCE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON EXPERIENCE AMONG THEIR CUSTOMER BASE. One bright star in their sky was Benjamin at the service desk...a very enthusiastic YOUNG man who knows how to treat customers and will go far in life. It sucks writing this review because it's my local golf shop but this is the 4th time I've had a bad experience. The most recent experience is what I'm reviewing. I recently was fitted for Stiff Flex irons (current set is Regular Flex). I have a 3Wood I love in regular flex and wanted to match the new set. I Came into the Golf Mart and went immediately to the gripping/shafting area in the back. I asked if they reshaft clubs here as I get my clubs re-gripped yearly at the same location but have never had a club reshafted here. Dan (always there and always rude) responded with "of course I can reshaft, leave your club." I told him I needed to look at shafts/options and basically told me to order online and come back (fair as I don't think they keep much in stock). I came back today (2 days later) and went straight to the back. Dan was helping a gentleman finish purchasing/re-gripping a new set of clubs. The gentleman asked if it was okay to borrow Dan for help selecting the best golf balls/tees (which didn't bother me at all); Dan still had not acknowledged me. After waiting for Dan and the other gentleman to finish up (20 minutes in with no acknowledgment) a new customer came in asking to test out the Taylormade SIM2 Driver. Figuring Dan would hand him off to one of the 2 employees up front l doing nothing (didn't recognize them so guessing they are new), I waited. Dan proceeded to help the new customer test out the SIM2 Driver on the simulator. I waited another 5 minutes until I walked out. On the way out no one said a word, including the two new employees standing at the register cracking jokes with one another. Almost 30 minutes without a single employee acknowledging me. I get you probably make commission off selling Drivers Dan and the new guys probably just "don't get it" but I'm here every week buying balls, tees, grips, etc. Unfortunately I am now going to make the longer drive elsewhere as they've lost my business. read more

There are so many words to describe their professionalism. They both make you feel like they are eager to help. Eddy P. is the most knowledgeable person regarding equipment and the golf swing. He put me on the swing monitor and within 30 minutes I had more confidence in my golf swing than I have had in a very long time. He made a few minor adjustments to some of my swing faults and it was pure magic afterwards. I have shaved 6 points off of my scorecard. He was patient, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. I ended buying some re gripping tape and he helped me figure out how much length I needed to reduce the driver by before putting on the new grip! Golf stores are sparse in North County so this review is based on lack of competition. Arrived, grabbed several clubs and proceeded to their bays to swing to gauge some monitor feedback. I haven't been to a golf store to test new products in about 6 years. I spent nearly 30min swinging, taking up space, gathering information and had a grand time. I was approached several times by workers inquiring if I needed assistance. I replied that I was just gathering info and they respected my space. This, by no means, is a PGA Superstore. Only 2 bays and a small selection of used clubs. All accessories seemed inflated in price but the one-stop shopping experience is paramount. I would definitely return and shop when I'm ready to upgrade. This store needs to stay in business due to the lack of options. This review is for anybody who wishes to hear my opinion... read more
