Cannot believe the condition of the greens currently. My brother was visiting from out of town and we drove 45 minutes to play here. I spent the past couple weeks talking about how incredible the greens are as the last time I played (about a year ago) they were so impressive. Most of every green was seed or sand with the only small patches of grass causing the ball to go random directions. If the course is recovering from some kind of event, I can understand that. But there was no indication of this and no discounted greens fees. Not sure what happened here but I won't be returning any time soon as even at the twilight rate, $90 is not worth putting on this mess. Hope that they can bring the greens back to what they once were but this definitely left a very sour taste in my mouth overall. Only thing that gives them a couple stars is that the service was very kind as always and the rest of their experience (clubhouse, driving range, etc.) is still exceptional. read more

UPDATE: 6/26/2026 Arrowood Golf Course has re-opened after 6/8-week closure. Here are a few images of the greens. Upon check-in, tpro shop staff gives you a heads up on the green conditions. So they are not trying to hide anything. IMHO, it will take several more weeks for the greens, all 18 greens, to recover. UPDATE: 7/03/2026, all 18 greens are still in recovery mode. In my estimate, about 50% recovered. Haven't even been rolled yet. I won't be playing this course again until August, no discounts offered on regular fees of $120 per round. After playing here I feel a bit bamboozled. As other reviews have stated, the greens here are "recovering," and the course has a notification posted to their website when you book, great. In practice, the greens are a nightmare. Yeah I know, they're "recovering," but I've seen recovering greens before and these are not worth full price, not even the slightest bit. Other areas of the course, the fairways, the rough, and the bunkers are very inconsistent. I've played here in the past and it was a nice course that was somewhat affordable, but now I doubt I will ever spend money here again. They oughta be embarrassed for charging folks full price for such shoddy conditions. read more

I normally don't leave negative reviews, especially for golf courses, because I understand maintenance is part of the game and conditions can vary. However, this experience left me frustrated enough that I felt it was worth sharing. I booked a round here to celebrate my son's birthday, expecting a fun day on the course. Prior to the round, there was communication that the greens had recently been aerated, which is completely understandable. Any golfer expects some bumps and imperfections after aeration. The issue was that the actual condition of the greens was much worse than what I would consider normal post-aeration conditions. It affected nearly every hole and significantly impacted the quality of the round. What made it harder to understand was finding out the course was closing shortly afterward for two weeks because of the greens. That suggested the condition issues were more substantial than simply "recently aerated." I reached out directly to management before writing any review because I wanted to give them a chance to address my concerns privately. I explained the situation respectfully and asked whether they would consider a replay round or some type of goodwill accommodation. I received one response citing policy, but after further follow-up I never heard back again. For me, the biggest disappointment became less about the greens themselves and more about how the situation was handled afterward. Golf course conditions can happen. Customer service and communication are choices. I'm simply sharing my experience so other golfers know what mine was. read more

Well I have been a big fan of this golf course since the day it opened. Recently they have had some big problems with the greens and parts of the fairways. I have never seen this course or any course in this bad of shape.!!! They are charging full price, 120.00, for Friday Round & telling the players there is a good 5 foot circle around the pins to putt. This is definitely not true.. the greens are like putting on Velcro.. if your paying cash your not eligible for any type of discount, that's wrong.. do not play this course & pay full price for at least 2-4 more weeks unless they offer a "these greens are not puttable" discount.. I'm sad this once awesome course is in this kind of shape & can't wait to see it back up to one of the best in north county, but it seriously a embarrassment at this point in time.. read more

First and foremost. The golf shop guy drove to hole 5 or 6 to let me know they overcharged me. That says a lot. I could post 30 pictures to give you a glimpse of the beauty you'll see. She has a lot of elevations, rolling hills, water, and holes where the ball will roll off into an abyss! I rented the Titleist 355. Whew! It took me about 5 holes to get a feel of my yardages. They have an electronic Rangefinder at the Driving Range. What? Yes. It was nice seeing the immediate feedback. I also got two sleeves of Titleist Velocity balls for renting the clubs. I simply loved it. It's easily in my top 10 golf courses in Canada, U.S.A. and Mexico. I just need to find a reason to come back here so that I can play again. read more

Extremely frustrated by the lack of transparency at this course. There was virtually no grass on the greens today, yet I was charged full price without a single warning. No mention in the app, the booking email, or the remiinder email. Plus nothing mentioned at check-in. When I complained, they falsely claimed I was emailed about it, but I have searched my junk folder and inbox and see nothing about these conditions. I love this course and was excited to drive an hour to show a friend around, but paying full price for conditions this poor is unacceptable. 2 months ago I played and they punched the greens the day before... also no warning. I let that one go, but figured the greens should be healed by now too... nope all garbage. Clearly they had a maintentace issue becuase it was dirt and fertizlier everywhere and hard as a rock. read more

Greens were in terrible condition today. Playing partner said they were infested with fungus. Some felt like it was just hard sand with no grass and putting on a concrete green. At the very least they could have said something before we teed off to give fair warning. More reasonably a discounted rate, even if we were playing twilight. Usually a great course. Last time greens were in great shape. Need to give this place a few months to recover before coming back to play. The amenities, restaurant and redone range are good to go. read more

We played on the 29th of June three days after re-opening. I have been playing Arrowood ever since it opened 20 years ago. I and my friends are Palm card golfers so we decided to give it a try. OMG horrendous conditions on the greens....our group decided to play every green as a temporary green. Then we started to notice the fairways and for being closed for 60 days there were still dry dead areas. Honestly Arrowood has lost its way, the muni course right down the street has PERFECT greens right now and the cost is under $50.00 during the week if a resident. Also, the gall to knowing the course is in horrendous condition but to charge full boat rate is criminal. This once very good golf course n the pride of north count is currently in the toilet. In closing my group will not be back for at least 6 months read more

Very excited to play here for the first time a couple a weeks ago. When I checked in they mentioned that the greens were under repair and it would be a sure 2-putt. And charged me FULL price! No prior notification! However, when actually playing the greens were totally unplayable. Worst experience EVER! After playing I complained to the desk manager and also sent a subsequent email complain, to which I never received a response. plenty of other amazing and less expensive golf courses in SoCal! read more

Where to begin. It takes a truly awful experience for me to take the time to leave a review for any business, but that's exactly what happened this past weekend. I booked a tee time at Arrowood a week prior to Saturday 5/9 and was really looking forward to it as I have had nothing but good experiences golfing this course over the many years. The morning of my tee time I needed to cancel a player in my group because they got sick and couldn't make it. I get on the phone with the pro shop and the guy says "no worries we aren't going to charge you a cancellation fee because we are doing some maintenance on the greens. Don't worry though, the greens are rolling true". A little weird but I make the almost 2 hour drive in traffic from OC to get down there. Right as I'm about to pull up I get a txt from one of the people in my group about how bad the practice greens were. I ask a couple who looked to be leaving after finishing a round and they tell me it's the worst greens conditions they've ever played in and they had no idea going into the morning. At this point I go straight into the pro shop to get some answers. Me and about 5 other people are standing there waiting to see what's going on and the response from the pro shop is "it was on our website" (not one of us had seen it) and "we sent you an email". I checked and they had sent the email less than 24 hours before my tee time. So basically no warning at all and they are still charging full price ($120) when I absolutely would have canceled had I known how it truly was. Any reputable course would give a discount to folks if there's some level of maintenance going on, but they won't budge. We pay and play because we all already made the drive out and it's as bad as everyone is saying, just a terrible experience (see photo below). I've played here a good amount of times over the years and I have always recommended it as a great place to play considering we can get people from OC and San Diego to meet in the middle there. But going forward I will be sure to let everyone know how my experience was and how the course handled it. I live about 45 minutes from this golf course and typically it would not be somewhere I would play, but since I had family in town staying near it, we decided to check it out. I'm glad we did. It's open to the public, but it definitely has a country club vibe and atmosphere. We were there on a Wednesday and it was packed with people. From the restaurant, to the driving range which was very steady of the art, and the golf course, everything looked full. About the course, it very much reminded me of a desert golf course. Meaning there was a lot of hills, elevated tees and uneven fairways. Even though I lost more balls than I would like to admit, I actually really like target golf. The course was in great shape outside of the greens which were just aerated a few weeks back. I'm sure once they recover, they will be fantastic. Even though the course seemed to be full of people, the pace of play was really good. We only waited one or two holes. The final four holes is something they call "The Quandary". It begins with an elevated, short par three (don't go left a lot of sand) and in the picture you see on my review is the next hole that just might be the prettiest one I have seen or played in a long time. If you hit the right drive, you can roll all the way down to the water for a simple chip up to the green. That said, you could hit a great drive and then hit it into the water like I did. Lol. If you are visiting the Oceanside area, or just happen to live near it like I do, Arrowwood should definitely be on your list of courses to play. Enjoy. read more

I knew they get an extra charge to get your own golf cart & while not happy about it I understood... So I paid the extra $20 for one & when the guy in the pro shop saw my girlfriend was going to ride with me he charged an additional $10!... Why the heck do you think I paid the extra $20 for!?!... Last week, I decided to play a solo round of golf here at Arrowood. By the time I reached the second hole, I realized that the injury I was working on hadn't fully healed, and as a result, I couldn't swing the club. I headed back to the pro shop to inquire about getting a reschedule or a discount for the next time I played. They couldn't help my request, but recommended I email the boss. Ive never typically sought out discounts, but in this situation, I felt, well of c course they will take care of my next round. As you can tell by the 1 star for the 1 hole I got to play. I was Denied. They were 'Sorry' about the injury issue, and they couldn't assist me. I guess that's just Arrowood GolfBiz. and must be why they say "No Glove, No Love".. .From now on I'll be taking my talents elsewhere. read more

I had a wonderful time at Arrowood. I was there to celebrate my brother's birthday and we started with lunch/drinks at the clubhouse. The food was good and the drinks were delicious - I particularly enjoyed the Berry Mash Old Fashion drink (can't remember exactly what it was called). The bartender was quick and efficient as well! The practice facilities here are amazing! There is a small driving range with trackers so you can dial in distances and such. They also have an outdoor bar with live music on occasion as well so it's a great place to hang out even if you don't go do 18 holes. The course - the course really is great! I had a lot of fun with my group and the course is slightly challenging but in a good way. There was a lot of satisfying moments hitting off the tees and finding my ball was able to roll out to 335 yards ;) I will definitely be back for more! read more

Our group of eight golfers recently played at Arrowood Golf Course and was extremely disappointed with the overall course conditions considering the premium green fee of approximately $133 per player. The most concerning issue was the condition of the greens, which were in consistently poor shape throughout the course. Every member of our group commented on the substandard playing conditions, particularly the greens, which significantly impacted the quality and enjoyment of the round. While we understand that courses occasionally undergo maintenance or seasonal challenges, there was no advance notice provided regarding the conditions, nor was any reduced rate or accommodation offered to reflect the diminished experience. At this price point, golfers reasonably expect conditions that are representative of a well-maintained daily-fee course. We hope management addresses these issues promptly and provides greater transparency to future customers when course conditions are below normal standards. read more

Tvs Madi, Matt who both worked at the flight deck area 9/25 and 9/26 They have amazing customer service. They recovered my pitching wedge. And made sure it wasn't lost. Course was in so so condition as greens and fairways were punched but they don't tell you that when making a tee time cause you have to do booking online only. My big complaint is the carts, they shut down in many places so you have to back out of where your at the have a considerable walk to your ball. I called from the 3rd fairway and asked if they could turn my cart off and the person at the pro shop told me no. His response was the area I described was newly sodded that there shouldn't be any other place where that would happen. He was incorrect the cart continued to shut down through the whole course. The worst part was you couldn't even get on the fairway on the 18th finishing hole. Some tee shots were on the right side of the fairway and you had a 80-90 yard walk to your ball and because of location you needed to take extra clubs to hit your next shot. Being partially handicapped walking was tuff. Don't think I'll ever go back and I don't recommend this course for anyone else who has limitations on walking... that's what carts are for right? They charge top dollar and demand you adhere to there fast pace of play. You can't do that when the carts shut down constantly. read more

I had never played this course and was looking forward to playing it as it is very close to where I live. The night before my tee time I found out that I had to fly out of town as my father was having emergency brain surgery for an injury he sustained. I called the pro shop and explained the situation and they showed no compassion. I didn't ask for a refund as it was less than 24 hours before my tee time. All I wanted was credit/voucher to play in the future. I spoke to multiple people in the pro shop and they weren't even willing to offer me a credit for a future round so I just lost my green fee. Incredibly poor and short sided customer service. read more

Started implementing no-show policy on July 1st. We thought we canceled our 2:40 tee time and there were some miscommunication between me and my husband. Wanted to like this place so badly, fun track with some fast greens and difficult holes. But when you're paying $100 and your round takes 5+ hours because of one drunk group, it becomes awful. How they don't have a marshal is beyond me, on the 18th tee there were 3 groups at one point. Not worth that cost. Even had the gall to give me crap for wearing a mock shirt in the pro shop. If you're trying to keep up to a standard, include it on the course too. read more

Let's start that it has a nice area, love everything they have. Clean restrooms, However services not the best. We sat down on the side with the couch and our server was not attentive. We asked for 5 hot water and other drinks, and he kind of complained that they don't have it nearby but has to go to the kitchen so we told him to go to get it. He only brought us 1 hot water .. then we ordered food, told him to get us extra utensils but never came back with .. pretty bad service here read more

We have been here a few times to eat or go to the Flight Deck. The staff across the board is rude, unhelpful, literally do not even acknowledge you until after 15 minutes of waiting for them to finish their personal conversation. Proshop, Flight Deck, and restaurant staff all just seem put out that they have to help you. The only helpful and polite person is the Golf Starter. read more

It was so nice to play here! It's like a Private Course. I love Ted Robinson jr. layouts and this is the best one i have ever played. I played early morning as to avoid the wind. Love the GPS carts! I played for 20 years then quit for 20 years. Started playing this year, played 20 rounds at Oceanside GC this place is so much better. With the "Palm" card is about the same price. Love the course...Hate the customer service (exception Starters Bob and Ken) Quality and friendly customer service starts from the top. Apparently it is non existent with the cold and unwelcoming attitude of their director of golf. From the looks of it it seems this has been an on going issue the past year with complaints, and still nothing has been done. I have been golfing here since the flower beds were a free drop. Pro shop employees (not colby) are un welcoming and do not respect their loyal customers. Their flight deck employees sit around and gossip while you stand there waiting for service, and when you tip them, they never say "thank you"... Your loyal and regular customers fill in your open tee times, especially those who live down the street and may want to play last minute. Show them a little bit more respect and treat them with a smile, at the least. I golf 4 days a week. Arrowood at least once. I golf with hundreds of people a month and always recommend this course...not anymore... You need to do better....arrowood staff and management... I golf with my wife that's $800+ a month I will be spending elsewhere... read more

My input on Arrowood Golf Course is the new Tee Time system they are using through Golf District. Now at Arrowood you have to use this system to secure your tee times and pay for it all up front. There are NO Refunds. The system allows you to post your tee times for resale if for some reason you need to cancel. This just happened to me, and no one purchased my tee times, so I ate the cost. I will not be golfing at Arrowood again unless of course someone else wants to book and pay for the tee time up front. Apparently, you guys think your course is the cat's meow and you can screw the public. BTW, my cancelation was legit. Had some players coming into SD and their flight got hit by lighting which delayed their arrival. read more

What an absolute joke of a golf course this has become. played here for years and it was always in great condition and that has nothing to do with this review. we had a 3:10pm twilight tee time, cost $90. At around 5pm we were on the 9th tee box, music was blasting so audibly loud from the restaurant behind the green, 500 yards away. kung fu fighting EDM remix. finished the hole and passed the restaurant, DJ playing for maybe 5-10 people who were seated and just trying to have a conversation. hilarious. played until the 13th hole and that's when the fun began. Two more DJs, this time playing music from the driving range or the flight deck as they call it. We could clearly hear this loud as hell from that tee box until we finished 18. around the 16th hole karaoke night began, and for the last 3 holes we had the pleasure of a one man who killed creep by radiohead, maybe a couple other good ones, and then an absolutely drunk woman yelling on the microphone HIT THE BEAT BEAT BEAT BEAT YUH YUH YUH YUH ONE TWO THREE FO UHH UHH UHH UHH. amazing to listen to while golfing the so called advertised "quandary". i knew this place was going down hill once they did the money grab by putting pickleball courts in the parking lot. and now this lol. Just a terrible excuse of a nice golf course trying to be TopGolf. read more
