This place is a hidden gem. Great course. From the tee boxes, fairways to green. The course is understaffed but for $50 civilian rate with cart on a wkd, it's a must. I compare this to aviara for $255. Cmon. Play here and buy a club. #yw.

I loved loved LOVED playing this well manicured golf course for the very 1st time this past Saturday! Our tee time was at 12:45pm and we finished about 5.45pm trailing a party of 4 that pretty much took their sweet time that the party behind us surpassed us and them on the 13 Hole then came back to do the holes we held them up at. I loved how each hole was dedicated to a battle they would memorialize and pay tribute to so it was like doing the stations of the cross, if you're Catholic, you know what I'm talking about. We'd get to the hole and read the hanging plaque honoring the hole so we would remember it and think about its significance. What a novel idea! The course is pretty efficiently plotted which I liked! U just keep going straight with a couple of holes varying with cliffs you would tee off of. I loved those especially I think Hole 4 and Hole 12. Every 4th Hole or so they would have a watering Station with a cooler full of iced water you could refill your water bottle or hydro flask with. They had rags attached to a pole with the ball cleaners at each hole. There is a snack bar near the driving and putting range to purchase drinks and snacks. The restrooms along the course were clean and modernly upgraded. There are lots and lots of squirrels which run rampant at each hole. They like to dig holes so I lost my pink ball to one of their holes at Hole 12... either that or they just took my pink ball and stored it like a nut. I saw a fox running loose around Hole 2 and 3 so be careful. We were warned of coyotes. This is a beautiful course but you do need a military ID or sponsor in able to enjoy it! Can't wait to come back! Thanks Ray for inviting us to play! Loved it here!

I really wish I lived closer as the service and Course is in great shape. We even had a dead battery and the bar tender offered her jumper cables for assistance. The drive from Downtown San Diego is about an hour but we will be back soon.

Played this course on 1/20/18 after having several friends tell me about it. Great value at $50. Course was pretty well maintained overall, better than any course I've played under this value. Greens were hard, not many divots at all and they were challenging to gauge, as they seemed to change hole to hole. THE WIND was crazy all day. 11-4pm it was ripping through which we heard was normal. Pace of play was great, we finished in 5 hours with very little wait time. Our "lag" came from the twosome we were paired with. A couple things to keep in mind when playing: 1. Fill out the base access form from their website. Apparently they let you in the first time, but after that you must have undergone background check. And they scan your id at gate. 2. Get directions from their website, not google or Apple maps. We were sent the long way and into the wrong gate, which led to 12 miles of driving inside the base at reduced speeds instead of the other gate which was only a few miles from course. 3. Bring a windbreaker, it gets chilly!

Dry as a bone, hardly any grass in the fairways and the greens are marginal at best. Bumpy and slow.

The carts do not have bluetooth, if you're the type who listens to music while you play. If you're a thirsty golfer like me, you should see the cart girl at least twice, so pace yourself accordingly. The carts do come stocked with ice-filled coolers on the side. Parking is a bit tight, so give yourself some time before you tee off. Of particular note, I lost a head cover somewhere on the course, reported it missing to the pro shop after my round and somebody returned it after I had already left and was close to home, about 50 miles south of the course. I asked the course if I could offer to pay to have them ship me the head cover. Not only did they ship it, they covered the cost. Impressive, above and beyond customer service. I am looking forward to playing here again.

It recently was purchased and it just feels they are cutting corners on the foundation of what makes the "golf course" run smoothly. Pro shop is alright. Nothing special, and merchandise is pretty subpar. The Marshall out there was pretty useless and I say that strongly. I'm sure they are quick to jump on a group of guys having some fun if they are 2 minutes behind pace. But in my experience there. We have 3 twosome's (including myself) backed up on a 2:40 tee time.... All because of 1 pair of old guys who (and I mean this literally) took 2 minutes to set up and hit every shot. Even the putts. Waiting to tee off on a 500 yard par 5.... have some feel old guy. So anyway, I NEVER complain to any Marshall. It's like telling a teacher in school... however I said "hey man! I hate to even ask or bring it up. But the group in front of us is very slow and purposely not waiting or giving us an opportunity to pass them. Can you give them a little pep?" To which he responded "ya I let the group in front of them know, but you can always just ask to play through" My good sir. DO YOUR JOB. There is no chance that a twilight twosome should have a 4 hour round. And if I'm the only group held up, I'll figure it out, skip a hole, go around. But when it's 3+ groups.... it's time to pull the problem on the side for a 10 minute pit stop and let the golf traffic move on through. Overall. This incident doesn't really pertain to the course itself, so take that story with a grain of salt. However, Marshalls and overall management should still care about pace of play or not allowing a human traffic cone to control the flow of the game. Even if it's 3pm. Lazy

From coming through the front gate to departing, this is a world class experience. Greeted by name at the door by Lucas and Andy...clearly they are only focused on you as a golfer and what you need. Lucas was very professional, understanding and accommodating of some of my physical limitations (previous hand surgery). At the onset of the fitting he noticed that my current clubs which I'd been fitted for custom ordered from TM, were a bit long. He measured them out and every one of my clubs was off in length. See the pics to understand how poor quality control on standard fitted clubs looks. Lucas identified a few things in my swing and potential physical limitations and suggested I work with a golf physical performance pro who can assess how I can improve or mitigate issues affecting my swing. At the end of the session I ordered the T200s which best fitted where I'm at now - and will easily support my game in years to come. Lucas set expectations that the clubs may not arrive for 4-12 wks depending on supply chain issues they (like everyone) have encountered. Imagine my surprise and joy to receive an email notice 4 days later that my clubs were built and on my way via Fed-Ex. One week after my fitting I received the clubs. Quality of fit and finish is what I've come to expect from Titleist. Superior. Held up the Titleist against my TaylorMades and immediately see the 1.5" difference. I've been playing with clubs that were inconsistently too long for the last 4 yrs and didn't know it. Uggh. So happy that I made the 500 mile journey down to TPI in Carlsbad and was fitted by Lucas and had the TPI experience. He made me feel at ease (as much as possible, I was amped up) -- and took his time, never making me feel rushed in the process. Thank you Lucas and Team Titleist!
