Soft but firm, not like the old hard mats that felt like you were hitting off concrete and damaging your clubs. 5. Island Greens - so nice! These targets are priceless and make the range attractive. 6. Two putting greens - 1 is synthetic - take your pick. 7. A sand bunker practice area with real sand, not dirt! 8. Lighted at night to accommodate anyone's schedule. 9. A Golf Mart is on the premises, how convenient. You can demo clubs on a real range and not a simulator. Plus great customer service! 10. Overall it's a nice, challenging and undulating golf course with great views and friendly staff…read more However, there were couple minor things we noticed that we could have done without: - the restricted speed of the carts in areas that didn't quite make much sense - not sure why, but some of greens were insanely fast while other were really slow - it seemed they watered down the sand traps near the greens so playing out of them was like playing off concrete, no way to scoop up sand and get a nice, soft exit - the fairways were softer that I'm used to so the ball doesn't really run, and if you take any grass with you on hit it's like playing out of rough - we teed off about 10am and there were grounds crews on just about every single hole, most of the time around the green and they didn't move so it was a bit distracting Having said that, it was decently maintained, provided a complementary driving range, drink cart came through at least once per 9 holes, great gps system on the carts with food ordering, and a nice bar for after. El Camino CC provides exactly that, and the course is very nice for the fee I'm paying. I've already played a few times and am very pleased to be a member of this country club. I look forward to playing more with other golfers. The club also offers an exercise room, which I've used a few times, and I'm excited to continue keeping myself in shape.
