This was our first time staying at Pala Mesa Golf Resort, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The room was very beautiful, extremely clean, and the king-size bed was large and comfortable. Check-in was easy, and the staff was very nice and welcoming. There were a couple of minor issues that affected our stay. The sliding glass door is a bit dated and had a gap that allowed cold air and outside noise into the room. It felt like sleeping with a window open, and my face and ears became noticeably cold. I was thankful I had packed a thermal and jogging suit, which helped keep me warm. I was eventually able to find a temporary solution by placing a pillow against the door and pushing the desk forward to help block the draft. Parking was also a bit challenging on the second night. The first night went perfectly, as the front desk gave clear directions and we were able to park at Building F1 by the stairs. After returning from a concert around 1:00 a.m. the second night, parking F1 was full, and I had to park farther away between Buildings F3 and F4. Walking back late at night in the cold felt uncomfortable and scary. I did mention the sliding glass door issue to the front desk, but there were no other king-size suites available. Despite these small challenges, the room itself was lovely and the staff was friendly and helpful. read more

This review is only for the golf course. The course is beautiful and very well maintained. The $119 rate for 18 holes plus cart as of this review is well worth the experience. The cart seats are really comfortable and the interactive screen includes a GPS that tells you exactly how many yards to the green and allows you to order food and drink while playing. Three of us went on a Black Friday weekend and the course was surprisingly empty. As a result, we didn't get paired with a 4th like any group usually would at other courses. The starter gave us great tips, including on how to play hole #3, which has been rated as the most challenging hole in the county by some unknown source. We saw the cart girl throughout our round on at least 3 separate occasions. Great service. Highly recommended. Watch out for wildlife, including rattlesnakes and I assume mountain lions and/or bobcats. read more

Tucked in the hill of Fallbrook this quaint resort is a welcoming place. Rooms are spacious and well equipped and maintained. The staff is friendly and professional. It's an older resort but still beautiful. My only complaint is that the pool and gym were closed at the time of my visit. The golf course looks fun but challenging. Hope to return read more

We stayed here overnight for a wedding about 5 min away. Check in was super easy. Its a smaller resort that's quite easy to get around. The signs are clear as to where everything is. Make a left right off the main entrance to get to th3 front desk. All the rooms (8 buildings in total) are off another street from the main entrance. There's enough parking for all the rooms in each building. We were in room 806. Considering it was a hot 96 degrees outside when we checked in. The ac in the room wasn't functioning well. And it stopped working all together when I set it down to 66 degrees on high. I called the front desk and they said not to put it below 68 and on low or else the system acts up. So needless to say it took a really long time to cool down. And being on low the amount of cold air coming out was insufficient. Eventually when we came back from the wedding 6 hours later (and it was cooler outside as well), the room was much more comfortable. And overnight it became downright cold, which was so nice. The king size bed was comfortable. The walls were thick enough I didnt hear my neighbors or hear the cars driving up and down the driveway. Shower pressure was good. View from the windows showed the beautiful gold course. The room did have a sort of stale smell though. But you get use to it after a while. But when u walk outside and come back in it definitely hits you again. The barn style door to the bathroom looked nice. But really didnt match the theme of the room. Overall it was good. My brother and cousins had rooms at this resort as well. They had no complaints about their ac unit. read more

Met up with my real estate partner for an iced tea, sat at the bar, and lovely Monica served us. Couldn't resist their jalapeño burger special with side of onion rings. Enjoyed every bite and appreciated the friendly atmosphere. It was fun engaging with other patrons and watching the Padres beat the Dodgers. So grateful for this local watering hole for residents nearby who don't have many options. Great place to meet new people and get to know the community. Will be back! read more

This is a review for the Pala Mesa resort in terms of lodging / hotel, not as a wedding venue! We had a wonderful stay at the Pala Mesa Resort hotel. Conveniently located near the highway & in a beautiful area. Check-in was smooth, they were able to give us our room keys right on the dot at 4pm which was great. Check out is 11AM. The woman that helped us was very friendly & gave us a map with instructions on how to get to our room as the layout was kind of confusing for us at first. From the check in desk, we had to drive to our hotel room which is basically across the street. Lots of parking available on hotel grounds, so we never had to be wary coming back home late after a wedding & worry if we couldn't find parking. From the outside of the hotel rooms, I was not expecting much since it looks older. But I was pleasantly surprised by the interior of the room. Everything was clean & had a modern, new look so I'm thinking maybe they remodeled. The room was spacious. I liked how big the restroom was as well, our room had a bath tub & shower. Lighting was great in the bathroom for getting ready. I really liked how clean & sanitary the room felt - especially in the bathroom. They provided a generous amount of towels alongside soaps & basic toiletries you would expect from a hotel. I would recommend staying here for lodging! Even if you're not attending a wedding at this specific venue or even if you don't golf! It's a great place to stay. read more

I recently was walking this beautiful course with a friend. We were enjoying our time when we began hearing shouting. When we went to check out what was going on we saw the man who was on a white golf cart.. It seemed as though he was yelling at female not to far from us. He continued to yell profanities at the lady. Cursing at her telling her to get the F*** out of here. And it continued on for quite some time. He even continued to scream as he drove his golf cart away, passing into a tunnel nearby which made the profanities echo through the course even louder. The individual on the cart was identified by a local as Nico. We were told he is an employee at the course. I expected much better from such a esteemed place. If these are the types of people they choose to employ I definitely wouldn't choose to golf here in the future. read more

If you're considering Pala Mesa for your wedding venue... DO IT. My husband and I just got married this past weekend and it was absolutely perfect. I can't think of a better word. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the scenery is unbeatable. With the opulent pergola at the ceremony site, 2 massive waterfalls as backdrops, reception space was stunning with chandeliers and beautiful uplighting. Tons of locations for beautiful pictures. I could go on forever. We had guests coming up to us telling us how beautiful the venue was and how blown away they were. They said they can absolutely see why we would choose this place. Staff was phenomenal. We couldn't have asked for a better team of people to help make our day flawless. Autumn was our venue coordinator, she was so excellent communicating with us on every question we had. Immediate replies, so kind and so supportive. She had an answer for every question and solution for any "problem" we ran into. She went above and beyond to make it the wedding of our dreams. I really can't even describe how wonderful and stress free she made the experience of planning. Something that really stood out to us was that we really wanted an opulent charcuterie grazing table for cocktail hour. And when I tell you they smashed it out of the park I mean it. This thing was incredible. They went out of their way to hire a whole separate team to make it for us and make the vision come to life. It was MASSIVE. Even bigger than we thought it was going to be which completely blew us away and showed just how much it mattered to them that our vision came true. Traillan was the catering manager in charge of food and WOW. She also was so amazing. She again was so communicative and made sure everything was perfect for us. She was so kind and attentive and on top of it all. We again had MULTIPLE guests come up to us all night and say that this was the best food they've ever eaten at a wedding, and same for our rehearsal dinner. Mae was also incredible, 90% of our guests were out of town. We needed some of the older guests to be closer to the ceremony site in handicap accessible rooms and she made it happen no problem. We had to switch a few names around, add rooms, take away rooms and she took it all in stride. It was so helpful and meant so much that she went out of her way to make our guests comfortable. We also had all our guests comment on how nice the rooms were. Updated, clean, and beautiful. They also had a Bridal suite to use to get ready that was incredible, tons of space, makeup and hair vanities, floor length mirrors, refrigerator for champagne and food, bathroom. It was everything you could ever need. The whole wedding went off without a hitch. I ran into both Traillan and Autumn the day of and they were so kind and so happy for us. We constantly saw them putting in work behind the scenes helping our coordinator. Which showed just how much they cared and effort they put into each wedding. All in all this was the best wedding and wedding planning experience we could have ever dreamed of. I don't think we could have done it if not for the help, attentiveness and attention to detail of the whole staff. read more

I don't even know where to begin. I worked with two staff members for the last six months to a year to ensure that our block and event went seamless. Mae coordinated our room block and was so responsive to emails and very accommodating for any last-minute changes. She made the process for blocking rooms so easy and stress-free. Which I definitely needed during my wedding planning. Traillan, who coordinated our rehearsal brunch, made everything so easy and stress-free as well. The day of the event we just showed up and enjoyed our time. All staff members were very friendly and accommodating to all of my guests. Everyone had an amazing weekend at Pala Mesa. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The grounds were pristine. And the food and drinks were amazing at the snack shack, and the restaurant bar. I know a lot of my guests will be returning. If you're looking to golf, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! 130$ for a round of golf and the management allows a party of 9 people for one tee time. The people were wasting time, lagging and taking 30 minutes per hole with no Marshall or starter to regulate. We've all had long rounds but if you're spending 130$ for twilight, have some regulation on the compound. Nice course with good conditions but terrible management. For 130$ I won't be back but maybe a 5 1/2 hour rounds is your thing. I wish that response was true. I called the shop and did nothing. Also there was a grown man playing with them and the kids seemed to care less about playing golf and more just running around. So your points aren't completely true. And we skipped a hole saving us 45 minutes which is how long the first tee took for them, so that's why there isn't a cart over that pace but there would have been. Nice save though. read more

We had our wedding at a nearby winery and reserved a room block for our guests. The entire experience was very easy, Mae was quick to respond to emails and give us all the info we may need and more. All of our guests had a great stay at the Pala Mesa and the resort was helpful in guiding guests to our shuttle that took people off-site. We recently hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner for the wedding party and welcome reception for out-of-town guests the night before my son's wedding. We worked with Traillan Suthers on all the details for these two events. With people attending from the mid-West and East Coast, we wanted everything to be super special. Traillan and her team - especially Eliza - had the room set up beautifully for us. The rehearsal dinner and welcome reception were both big hits and everyone thought the food, service, and bartending were great. When you have to plan an event remotely, not even seeing the room in advance, you have to have faith in the resort management. Traillan and the rest of the Pala Mesa team made the evening so special with all their attention to detail. I'd definitely recommend the Pala Mesa Resort for an event. Also the night shift lady was also nice and went above and beyond for me and let me borrow something. Only reason for the missing one star is that the pool was closed due to remodeling. We reserved a wedding block here for our wedding. We were assisted by Mae Adrid and she was amazing! We had so many questions throughout the year+ of planning and she was so helpful the entire time. I requested for others that booked outside of the block to be moved closer to our building and she was able to move as many as she could (depending on their room type). I know our wedding block was loud and thankfully we were away from other guests since there are multiple buildings at the resort. Service was always good, everyone was nice! As of the resort itself: The rooms are newly renovated and beautiful, however I did find a family of ants due to leftover, dry juice(?) or something, under the alarm clock. The location was very quiet and peaceful, which I liked, however very dark to drive at night (barely any lights) and not near many restaurant (you'll need to drive at least 20mins). They do have a restaurant by the lobby but closes fairly early (I think 7:30pm?). Overall we enjoyed our stay, are very thankful for Mae. It was perfect for our wedding weekend! read more

I really have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The rooms that have been renovated, which are most of them by now we're really lovely and well acquainted. There are several wedding venues in the area including their own wedding venue, so they are a great Fallbrook option. They do need a little bit more help on their front desk, and a coffee maker in the rooms would be nice or at least to have coffee available in the lobby, (although you can go to the golfers snack bar for coffee.) Hopefully they have completed work on their pool. We didn't need it because it was November when we stayed there. But if you're looking for a hotel in the Fallbrook area or close proximity to Temecula, I would recommend this resort . Also, their wedding pavilion is absolutely gorgeous on the grounds are beautifully, kept lush and green. read more

UPDATE : the owner asked me to contact the general manager at the hotel. I just called and the general manager isn't available for a week. This place is such a scam. just checked into the Pela Mesa resort very late. Almost midnight. The first room they tried to give me was dirty. The second room they gave me had a bird inside of it. I called the front desk for almost 20 minutes before the even answered the phone. There is no manager on duty. The front desk girl is asleep at the wheel. They're telling me I can leave if I want. After I travelled over an hour from the San Diego airport. It's now almost 1 am and they can't get me a new room. The staff here is completely incompetent. I can't believe how they treat their customers when they screw up. I would avoid this place at all costs. FYI, the general manger posted her phone number 29 days ago on another review. I tried to contact her and the number is already disconnected. My credit card company will be taking over from here for me. read more

We made Pala Mesa Resort the primary guest stay for our wedding in Fallbrook, and Mae was so accommodating and helpful all throughout the booking and planning process. She was communicative and flexible, and even managed to get everyone in our relatively large block a reasonable price for Memorial Day weekend. With the recent room renovations, our guests were incredibly comfortable, plus they were so happy to be staying here in a quiet peaceful setting close to our Fallbrook venue instead of at a hotel in Temecula and commuting 30 minutes each way. We also used the Chardonnay Suite for our day-after brunch, which the resort catered. Autumn was also extremely helpful in budgeting out our buffet-style menu given we had a fluctuating guest count. I stayed here for a few nights recently for my friends wedding. The wedding facilities were very nice but the hotel stay was average. The staff at the front desk were rude and unhelpful. They also tried to overcharge me and a manager on duty eventually took care of it but had trouble fixing it and had to do it later. They offered no apology or anything. The room itself was fine but they need to have better pest control because there were multiple spiders and bugs in the room. My friend (who was getting married) also had spiders in her room. read more

Some of the grounds were nice in a summer camp way, it's a bit woodsy and there are flowered and benches etc. but other recreation areas like the pool, play ground etc were poorly kept. I can't speak for the golfing. Food was okay, worst part was the fact that everything closes at 7pm. The rooms were nice, but the ac didn't work well and it was over 90 degrees outside so we had to change rooms which was a pain given the layout of the hotel. The man helping with the ac was very nice about it and I did a appreciate a fridge and espresso maker in each room. But the towels and soaps were awful they didn't provide you enough for more than one shower and they never came around to even offer to clean our rooms or provide more towels/soap. They provide the bare minimum in hospitality at this location. Way over priced! read more

My room averaged 84 degrees before they brought me a fan, which did help. Staff would have received 5 stars except that when I complained to speak with management, the desk clerk assured me the manager would contact me, but no one did. I think the management was waiting me out, due to the fact I was leaving early the next morning. Problem solved. Pool was empty with overgrown weeds and vegetation all around. The AC and grounds' issues were ongoing, something they could have told me before I spent premium money for a lack of services. read more

The worst managed golf course I've ever seen. They let two 13 year olds out with my group as spectators. They had no idea what etiquette was. Messing with their phones while we're on the tee. I was here for a wedding. It's very beautiful and the service from the golf cart driver driving us to the top cocktail area was very nice. Overall, the audio equipment was VERY bad! COME ON IT WAS A WEDDING!!! The decor could have been nicer. I also did not like how everything was separate and unorganized. Also, there was tarps... I don't know but for a wedding maybe it could have ven a little classier. I would say if you're looking for a nice place this is NOT it for a wedding.
