Coral Tree House

Coral Tree House

First off, let me start by saying that Greg and Michelle are awesome and staying at the Coral Tree…read moreHouse was truly an amazing experience! Everything from their front gate entrance, to the walkways around the property, to the pool and jacuzzi, everything is so nice. I highly recommend this stay for anyone visiting! The rooms are tiny houses built by Greg himself. He has put all his life experience in design and construction into these homes and they are definitely something to see for yourselves. We stayed at his latest build, The Beach House, which was beautiful! The tiny house is fitted with everything one might need to take a small vacation; two beds, two floors, HDTV with Netflix, bathroom, and full kitchen. There are plenty of little areas between areas that Greg has put in there to allow for storage while still having the little homes feel uncluttered and open-floored. The pool area is so nice! There's a very nice pool lined with a great selection of plants, palm trees, and a small waterfall feature. There's a jacuzzi that you can jump into and enjoy. There is a couple small tables where you might want to sit and eat something, a chimney with firewood already provided by Greg and Michelle, and a BBQ if you want to chuck some steaks on there and grill. All in all, Greg and Michelle have an amazing business that is truly an experience. Thank you guys for the hospitality, we'll definitely be back!

We never had stayed at a B&B before and what sold us was that we would have our own little house. Greg, her husband, is a retired contractor and built these himself. What a beautiful job he has done. So quiet, which is what we needed. The Pool and Spa area are out of a Hawaiian Oasis. Coral Trees are much like the Banyan Trees there. Now there is the 5 star breakfast Michelle makes! Better and healthier than most restaurants. We feel we have made new friends in this lovely couple. Can't wait to return.

From birds chirping, to various floral landscaping, you'll feel like you've stepped into your own peaceful escape. Make sure to call ahead to confirm your schedule arrangements and directions. The house is a good 15 minutes away from the town stores, so be prepared to bike or have a vehicle. But it's probably best to just enjoy the tranquility of the natural surroundings of the property. There is so much peace to be found in gazing off into the lush-green mountainous valley range. I believe that this stay is the best retreat for a couples romantic escape or if you just want to getaway from it all. I recommend this cozy country crib!

Sandra called me earlier in the day to find out if we needed anything and what we wanted for breakfast. When we arrived she could not have been nicer and the room was stocked with all sorts of goodies. She offers free wifi and has a great tv with satellite. The room we had even had a cat on the balcony, which my wife loved, and a jacuzzi tub. We woke up to an outstanding breakfast with scrambled eggs, oatmeal, bacon, and guacamole (made fresh from her own avocado trees). I will find a reason to come back soon and we could not recommend highly enough.

Pala Mesa Resort - Reception site, all I can say is the reception site which is adjacent to the ceremony site is just gorgeous! Lighting can be customized.

This was our first time staying at Pala Mesa Golf Resort, and overall it was a pleasant experience…read more The room was very beautiful, extremely clean, and the king-size bed was large and comfortable. Check-in was easy, and the staff was very nice and welcoming. There were a couple of minor issues that affected our stay. The sliding glass door is a bit dated and had a gap that allowed cold air and outside noise into the room. It felt like sleeping with a window open, and my face and ears became noticeably cold. I was thankful I had packed a thermal and jogging suit, which helped keep me warm. I was eventually able to find a temporary solution by placing a pillow against the door and pushing the desk forward to help block the draft. Parking was also a bit challenging on the second night. The first night went perfectly, as the front desk gave clear directions and we were able to park at Building F1 by the stairs. After returning from a concert around 1:00 a.m. the second night, parking F1 was full, and I had to park farther away between Buildings F3 and F4. Walking back late at night in the cold felt uncomfortable and scary. I did mention the sliding glass door issue to the front desk, but there were no other king-size suites available. Despite these small challenges, the room itself was lovely and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We walked into the room and the stench was horrible. My wife found bugs crawling on the bed and pillows, the tub was all rusted and looked very dirty. The furniture is very out dated and worn, the flooring (LVP) is all broke and coming apart, the paint on the interior walls peeling. The outside is horrendous, weeds all around, stairs filthy, the stucco on the building is all cracked, trash all through the parking lot along the fence line. The pool is all cracked on the bottom, 1 gate is tied off with an electrical cord. Overall this hotel needs to be closed and a FULL RENOVATION needs to happen or close for good, I wouldn't even recommend this hotel to homeless people to sleep in.

The hallway was extremely dirty as if it hadn't been swept in months and smelled of extreme cigarette stench. This all was brought to the hotel clerks attention. A few things were rectified. Clean sheets and a smoke detector. The floor was swept without a dustpan and the dort was swept into the hallway.

Alas, no, too many…read morepractical issues, but we liked the property, it would cater to some exclusive groups, just misses some marks with us as the space and layout is an issue. But here's my notes on the property: overnight accommodations, great place, only issue would be parking. For 3 days and 2 nights you rent the guest cottage as well as the ballroom/main kitchen and terrace areas of the main house for about $8,500 for all the events. The only thing they would like is to not use both locations for any particular one event. But you can have the rehearsal at either, the wedding/cocktails (pretty much anywhere food or beverage is served) at one or the other, the ceremony at one and Sunday brunch at either. More than likely, it works the best with the cottages being the place for a rehearsal dinner, maybe ceremony, the main house for ceremony and reception, and guest cottages for Sunday brunch. They are flexible on outside vendors, but do have a preferred list. Outside vendors must be insured and licensed. This place reminds me of much of Montecito except Bonsall is re-surging from strictly old rural areas to newer neighborhoods so there are still pockets of rural/horse farms in between nice properties. The view is country hillsides. The roads as of 2012 were undergoing construction. Would have to check back and see what progress has been made to make the trip there more beautiful and to see what Saturday afternoon, Friday evening, Saturday night and Sunday morning traffic would be like. May cost about $2000 to solve the parking issue. Not sure what the costs are going to be for on site transport. Overall the customer service was good, but it definitely seemed for a property that wants to do weddings on an exclusive basis there is way too much DIY costs here to accommodate it. It's just a great house on a tree filled property that originally wasn't meant for events. The layout alone provides conflicts and at first they seemed flexible but as I asked further questions about working around the issues there seemed to be less flexibility. Couple that with the owners living on site and you essentially borrowing their space, it just feels awkward and less exclusive to me. The lose a star for that, but other than is a great property. If you aim low, have a small guest list, your guests won't mind a shuttle or carpooling, can do without a valet, do not mind sharing a property with someone, do not need to accommodate disabilities/elderly much or require more than 2-4 peoples worth of overnight accommodation, you should be fine.
