Janice and Roger were such fabulous host to us for a very enchanting evening at the hotel Temecula. Located in old town. If you want a little piece of history that you honestly cannot find anywhere else in town. This is the hotel for you. We had a gorgeous view of the Wisteria patio right outside the window that was planted in 1891 as was the hotel. There's a reason why they call the hotel Temecula" the grand lady" she really is Our day was perfect- The rooms are appointed beautifully, very clean, a gorgeous gift upon arrival with fluffy, warm robes and slippers We were lucky to have the Bath all to ourselves. The showers are hot, and the toiletries were provided such a wonderful addition to our stay. Continental breakfast in the morning was perfect in their parlor room. The candles were lit. The coffee was good. The fruit was delicious. And a little bit of" grand lady" information from Janice as we were leaving. Whether you're there for a night or with a group of friends or having an event in their back spacious patio. Please don't miss your opportunity to visit the Hotel Temecula. " the grand lady will treat you right." There is parking on the premise Give yourself plenty of exploration time while you are there. It is also connected to the big nose winery. Several girlfriends stayed here for a girls night out. This is not your traditional hotel...it's a historical hotel right in the heart of Temecula. The bed and pillows were like sleeping on a cloud. Staying here takes you back in time and is within walking to the theater, antique shops or one of the many restaurants. The owners, Richard and Chris were great and made our stay very pleasant. We were just walking by, we stopped in just because we were curious & ended up deciding we would book a room for future because we were treated so kindly...the owner Richard spent his time sharing w us his history with how he and his family were able to keep this lovely hotel alive in here. The reason I decided to write a review and book a room is because he was so warm and friendly and this place is special. It's historical. We happened to stumble along this amazing historical spot while visiting downtown today. It felt like stepping way back in time yet so warm and friendly. One of the Principles, Chris, happened to be sitting on the porch with a friend and was kind enough to extend a tour of the Hotel. This hotel was closed for 65 years prior to it reopening five years ago after renovating to bring it back to life again to enjoy. We can't wait to return and also visit the convenient little winery next door. This would make for an amazing and affordable wedding or special event venue! read more

To say that this hotel is amazing is a complete understatement !!! Just spent an incredible "Big girl slumber party" with 9 friends in the hotel. Our host and hostess, Richard and Chris were so gracious. Taking time to ensure that we had the best experience. The beds are ridiculously comfortable!!! If you love history this is the place to stay. The owners are very knowledgeable and nice as can be. They also can recommend fantastic places to eat and drink. They have a winery (Curry Vineyards & Winery) that comes in on weekends and does tastings, which is great. Also, for those wary of the "shared" bathroom experience this place has theirs set up to be very private, so don't let that dissuade you. Plus one of the bedrooms does have a private bathroom. My mom surprised me by coming out to Temecula for my birthday. She knows how much I love history, so she chose the Temecula Hotel. I have lived in Temecula for 5 years and have looked at that building every time I'm in Old Town, just wondering what's inside - Let me just tell you, it is as cool as you think it is!! We had the best night ever! The minute you walk in the door you are transported back in time, treated like family & completely spoiled. There is a cute wine tasting room downstairs, a full kitchen, a gorgeous patio & a bon fire every night. We felt right at home, (we even went out & had Bloody Mary's with the owners & other guests before check out!) It was by far the coolest B&B experience ever. This hotel is such a glimpse to Temecula's past. Opened originally in the late 1800's the owners (Richard & Chris) have painstakingly collected artifacts to provide customers an experience of times gone-by. The 10 room hotel is a great place to gather for your own celebration or like us just stay to enjoy Old Town Temecula and local wine tasting. The porch on Main Street is great for relaxing and people watching. The beds are the most comfortable I've experienced. We didn't encounter any ghosts during our stay but don't be surprise if you do. The bonfire pit with a stack of S'more fixings in Ziplock bags. The wine. The loose check in & check out times. Our surprise upgrade from the gorgeous red room#2 to the fabulous Honeymoon Suite! Wow! The kindness and special touches that Richard and Chris provide make you feel as if they had been waiting for you to come visit. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would, because it deserves it. The only thing better than the actual rooms is the service provided by the owners. The owners, Richard and Chris, were unbelievably accommodating and extremely knowledgeable about their hotel's history as well as the history of all of Temecula. This hotel is an absolute experience. I would recommend staying more than one night in order to fully enjoy everything the hotel and its hosts have to offer, as well as the town just one block away. Single best hotel or B&B experience my wife and I have ever had. This is the only place we plan on staying from now on when we stay up in Temecula. read more

The Hotel Temecula is an unbelievable find! It is rich with history and an exciting venue to host any party! I had my 50th birthday party here and it dresses up formal--which was our event--with no problem. Your guests will fancy the surroundings and talk about it for weeks to come! It is an elegant backdrop for any venue, formal or casual. Richard and family made this event happen without hesitation! They were scheduled to leave on vacation but they called in family to open up this amazing gem just for my 50th birthday celebration. The hotel is authentic and the talk of the guests! The Smores station was the perfect flavor for guests to congregate and meet each other. My guests said they are coming back to stay in this real deal! They want to learn more of its history, and casually stroll through its gardens, including the original bar in Temecula, the unbelievable structures surrounding the cellar. Richard and his family turned me loose to do what I needed for my event. I've posted pictures and you can not deny that every guest was in wonderment over this incredible treasure. This is the perfect place for a wedding, fund-raiser, birthday or other special event. I give this place 5 stars because it was over the top a hit not just with me, but with our guests. Wanted to stay here but... went there Sat. 1/13/2018. Tryed to enter the Lobby and was intercepted by a large group of men/women on the porch. They were drunk af. Lady closest to the door asked me what I wanted. I asked for a room. Rudely she said they were full up. One gentleman tried to do damage control by apologizing for her. I will never go back. Must have been 8 people out there staring at me. Needless to say, I spent a ton of money at another establishment and it was way better. read more

My wife and I were married in Dec 2019 and we decided to stay at the Hotel Temecula after the reception. It was a fantastic stay. The proprietor Richard, made sure that we had a view of the bridge, where we got engaged the year before. I can't say enough about the hospitality that Richard and Chris treated us too. I'm a bit of a history buff and this place has history in spades! Richard gave us the full tour of the hotel and grounds. Chris made us an amazing breakfast. We could have talked to them for hours. Cute wine tasting room in the hotel.. Bonfire in the backyard of hotel...Chris and Richard were very friendly and accommodating! They were very knowledgeable about the history of Temecula and their hotel and they provided a number of helpful recommendations for dinner in town. I love this historic hotel here in Old Town Temecula. The owner Richard is especially knowledgeable and friendly. When I first moved to Temecula a few years back with my husband we were going to renew our vows here and stay in one of my two favorite rooms here. All the rooms are spectacular. It is clean, unique and organic. This is by far the best place to stay in Temecula. The owners wife has yearly slumber parties here with her gal pals. I love that they encourage their guests to unplug from technology while staying on the property. I look forward to staying here at some point with my husband, Canadian family and friends. Please check it out and give this family owned historic little gem some business. Don't take my word for it. Y'all need to stay here and give a good review for yourself. This was the best getaway I have had in years. What a wonderful surprise to be greeted by Chris and Richard. They pampered us with wine, cheese, snacks, desserts, breakfast and more. The yard has 6 chicken that run free. We were even given a dozen fresh eggs when we left. That one we sat at a huge firepit and had smores. The hotel is a historical museum. Just fascinating. Such an amazing experience to stay here. The couple that owns the hotel is so interesting and they have such a great story. Both used to actively practice law and decided to renovate this historic hotel. Anyway, my boyfriend (now fiancé) proposed and we stayed here after. Staying here really made the memory even more special because it's just so cool! I was so comfortable and hearing the history of the hotel was such a great experience. Our group of friends picked this hotel for our annual get together. What a privilege to be able to stay in this fabulous historical hotel built in the late 1800's. The entire decor is done with period pieces. We learned that much of the art work and furnishings were original and placed by the first owners. Upon arrival we were able to pick our room from 10 beautifully decorated rooms. Not to worry they replaced all the mattresses with wonderful pillow tops and each room had its own air unit. The hotel has two shared restrooms, one for men and one for the ladies. The ladies room is just lovely from the black and white tile floor, to the locally made scented olive oil soap. My room was room 1. It was so bright and cheerful. After the chore of picking our rooms to my surprise the front parlor contained Curry Vineyards wine tasting room. The actual wine maker Charlie was there to pour and educate. The Cabernet was excellent. After tasting we walked up the street to The Gambling Cowboy. If you are a meat eater this is the place! After dinner we walked back and sat around the welcoming fire pit in the rear of the hotel for some good conversation. In the morning we all put on matching hotel robes and sat on the porch for morning coffee! Getting spoiled by now, but the country breakfast was next. Christine the owner made the best pancakes ever!! It is now time to go home and back to 2017. I can't wait for my next opportunity to visit this jewel in old town Temecula! read more

We came across The Hotel Temecula quite by accident. We were going to see a friend perform at the Merc (Old Town Temecula Community Theater) and needed a close-by place to stay. Not only was the hotel right across the street, but it was so much more than a place to stay! Richard and Chris are just the nicest, most accommodating people. This is more like a historical Bed and breakfast than a hotel. The rooms are quaint and comfortable, and we really felt like we were in our own home. The facilities were made available to us at any time, and Richard and Chris made us a wonderful breakfast. Eggs, fresh from the chickens that live on the property and home-made muffins. We also got a tour of the hotel and property that was top-notch! Just outstanding! read more
