I had visited Monserate Winery before their remodel, but this was my first time back since all of the renovations were completed. The transformation is absolutely amazing! The property is beautiful, well-maintained, and offers a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for spending an afternoon. One thing to note is that they now have a weekend policy requiring guests to be **21 and over** for wine tasting. From what I understand, children are still welcome if they're attending a private event, such as a wedding, since those are held in a separate area. The winery now features a restaurant, a gift shop, and a spacious tasting area with both indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a dedicated members-only lounge and tasting area, which is a nice perk for wine club members. My sister and I shared a salad and a pizza, and both were absolutely delicious. There was live music during our visit, and it was played through speakers throughout the property so everyone could enjoy it, no matter where they were seated. The servers were friendly, attentive, and helped make the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Monserate Winery is a beautiful destination with great food, excellent wine, and a wonderful atmosphere. Wow! I can't say enough good things about this winery. I've been to many wineries and I don't think I've ever had this much trouble picking a bottle because I enjoyed ALL the tastings! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and tranquil. They had a great soloist playing guitar from Nashville, Steven Cade. He played beautiful music while we ate delicious sausage pizza and beer and goat cheese salad on a Saturday afternoon. Brian was our host and he was so knowledgeable and friendly and welcoming. We came on a Sunday and it was pretty crowded once it hit 12pm, but thankfully we made reservations ahead of time. Customer service could be improved because when we first arrived we were not greeted and it appeared the hostesses were annoyed at each other and confused when discussing where to seat us. They were arguing about one side being too full and some servers needing to double up on tables. The restaurant was full, yet the atmosphere was aesthetically nice. Our sandwiches were well portioned and really well made, especially my chicken sandwich, it was delicious and flavorful. We also ordered the focaccia appetizer, which was honestly the one disappointment. I usually love focaccia, but unfortunately, this was quite dry and not as flavorful as I expected. This place is beautiful. I loved the seating areas, water feature, and live music--they really add to the overall atmosphere. It's smaller than many of the wineries in Temecula, which means better service and a more relaxed, intimate experience. The food was decent overall. The Brussels sprouts were easily the standout dish, although I wish they came with a little more pork belly. The meatballs were also delicious, and honestly, the bread was the best part. The pizza was a bit disappointing for me, as it lacked flavor. I tend to prefer a hot honey pepperoni style pizza, and a drizzle of something on top could have helped elevate it. The portions are very generous. I believe they offer a smaller portion of the Brussels sprouts in the tasting room, but it wasn't listed on the sit-down menu. I didn't realize there were different portion options until the large plate arrived. The Brussels sprouts and pizza are easily enough to share among four people, while the meatballs are more appropriately sized for a couple. The larger portions help justify the cost, but it still feels a bit pricey. Personally, I'd prefer the option of a smaller Brussels sprouts portion at a lower price point, and I think offering pizza by the slice would be a great addition. read more

We were at the Winemaker's Club Pickup Event last weekend, and had a wonderful time! The event was well organized: checking-in, plenty of good tacos, and a surprise music treat by Javid and Naoko. (I am a fan!) Their new event venue was GORGEOUS with waterscape with a waterfall and a serene open nature feel. Monserate Winery keeps everything classy, and that's why we love this winery! Beautiful grounds nice facility. Lovely wine quite surprising. However, they serve in perfectly measured little glass carafe, which is portion control for server honesty. However, not knowing what the label looks like and not offered an upsell to take a bottle home or whatever was a bit odd. All of the buildings and grounds are well kept and just stunningly gorgeous a nice place for a private event like a wedding reception or corporate party. I'll have to return as my first visit I wasn't wild about the pizza but let me try something else next time. read more

I'm still in love with Monserate. There are multiple wines that are a great fit for all palates. They've expanded their menu with an assortment of apps and main dishes. I love the truffle fries, the burger, pizza, desserts, chef specials, and a number of other items on the menu. The ambience is absolutely beautiful. There are waterfalls on the exterior and plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. The staff are all kind and personable. They make it a great experience every visit. I would recommend to anyone to become a member to get wine shipments and wine/food discounts. Came here with my daughter and grandson for an early dinner. Walking up to the front entrance was very pretty with flowers and trees. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day and it was very peaceful and relaxing. The service was good. Got our food quickly. We ordered a few things to share. Started off with the crisp pear salad which was very fresh and flavorful. Loved the pomegranate and candied walnuts in it as well as the thinly sliced pears. We also ordered the crispy brussels sprouts. They were probably the best brussels sprouts I've ever had and I loved the pork belly in it and pickled red onion on top. My grandson had the kids cheese pizza. We also split the Monserate classic burger and opted for truffle fries and OMG best fries ever! Nice and crispy on the outside. The burger was top notch. Cooked perfectly and was so tasty and juicy. For dessert we had vineyard delight cake. Never had a dessert quite like this. It was good. The whole meal was excellent. No complaints. Wow wow wow! Attended a Friday late afternoon wedding here. The outdoor lawn venue is eye appealing with large trees as backdrop & pond. The indoor reception area was gorgeous. The place itself is absolutely beautiful and looks like it was transplanted right out of Tuscany. There is ample seating for groups big or small and beautiful scenery everywhere you look. The service is always top-notch, and it's one of my favorite places to do wine tasting. I personally love their reds. The food is also very good too, and you can't really miss on anything you order. I was visiting from New York and excited to visit a winery on my trip to Cali. I came here with a friend and her 2yo in a stroller. We were told we could enjoy a tasting. I absolutely LOVED at least 3-4 bottles and was ready to purchase them and check a bag on my flight back to New York. Then, a short, angry man with a Napoleon complex came in and kicked my friend off the bar and told her to go to a nearby table, separating her from me and leaving me alone at the bar. His tone of voice was completely unnecessary and he's apparently the type of person that thinks you need to be stern in order to be a leader. I lead a team at work and one of the things we are taught is to "assume good intent." She wasn't trying to do anything wrong as she was told it was okay. He could have communicated the same message in a kind way and the outcome would have been completely different. Instead, he was rude and it cost the business money, because I decided not to make the large purchase I had planned and my friend decided not to become a wine club member. He should be replaced with someone who seems to understand the otherwise positive culture that seems to exist at this establishment. read more

My son and daughter-in-law took me to Monserate for wine tasting. They're members and always tell me how much they enjoy going there. The property is absolutely beautiful and there's plenty of seating areas, including exclusive members-only areas. We ended up getting a standard red wine tasting (6 pours for $20) - we had the Monte Luna, the 2022 Aglianico and the Negroamaro (double pours of each). We didn't have any food with our wine, but the dishes that were going by to the tables looked amazing! Next time I'm there, I will be ordering food! I frequented Temecula's wine country for a decade. With the increasing barrage of party buses and limos, the area was getting less attractive and too busy for a visit, making the drive less worthwhile from North County. In 2023, I started exploring Fallbrook wineries and found Monserate Winery. It's a lovely property to spend a sunny afternoon. Friday-Sunday is 21+. We usually go on Fridays or Sundays. There is live music on certain days. No live music today, Jan 16 Friday. I'm a fan of their Falanghina and Fiore wines, both whites. Food is delicious. We always order calamari and rotate the entrees. There are a lot of dishes that really hit the spot. The monthly specials are worth a try. Like many wineries, they have a venue for weddings and special events. This property is quite beautiful. Even better than what most of Temecula wineries offer. It feels like you're on vacation when you're here. Monserate brings a Mediterranean vibe. It's worth a visit if you're considering this property for your wedding. I'm a wine club member; 2x bottles every 2 months with 4 wines tastings per month. We visit every 2 months. It's always a great time. There are different levels and I think I have the base level membership. I haven't done any of the member events due to schedule issues - trivia night, line dancing, etc. They look fun. Staff is cordial, friendly. It is difficult to find parking when there are weddings. It's best to get here early. Keep that in mind during wedding season. There is a free and quick golf cart service that gives a tour of the property. (Give the driver a couple of dollars for a tip!) I'm not sure if they do pickups. I've only taken it from the main building. The property does not allow dogs. We'd love to bring our pup. However, that keeps the property looking like it does. read more

I chose this winery to host my daughter's bridal shower because of the promises made during the planning process. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When we arrived to set up, the previous event was still occupying the space. The tables had not been cleaned, and there were water glasses left over from the prior party. It was not the welcoming start we expected. Before the event, I was promised a tasting of the wines that would be served so I could make informed selections, but that never happened. I was also assured that dietary restrictions would be accommodated, yet they were not observed. Throughout the shower, the service was lacking. We repeatedly had to ask staff to clear dirty dishes from the tables. The iced tea and lemonade were brought out very late, and the wine was not served until after the food had already been served, which disrupted the experience for our guests. Overall, I was very disappointed. The level of service and attention to detail fell well short of what was promised, and it took away from what should have been a special celebration for my daughter. Beautiful winery amongst the oak trees in Fallbrook. The buildings and the grounds are gorgeous. Not too far off the 15 freeway between San Diego and Riverside county lines.
