Well, updating my review about La Cucina Trattoria. Sad to find out that the best food in town is gone. To all the staff and Jesse Garg, owner of La Cucina, we all wish you the best of luck. You will be sorely missed. Sadly, my family was heading to La Cucina, when we realized what happened. So, we tried Katys restaurant. The whole look is simple, but friendly. The hand painted murals are sadly gone and the "Italian beauty" of La Cucina is no more. But the food, the staff, and the owners are very motivated to make this place, the best family friendly/ community friendly place in Fallbrook. Too bad it took the closing of the nicest restaurant in Fallbrook to bring Katys to existence. Good luck to Katys in the future. We got the mozzarella sticka..love the flavor and the marinara sauce..the chai tea could have more masala and just be called chai ;). The butter chicken was good and buttery and came with rice..good portion size. The garlic naan was crispy and warm. Love that they had personal pizza and it was good. I WANT TO LOVE THIS PLACE!! But I just like it. I had Italian, the other three with me had Indian. They LOVED the Indian cuisine. The Italian was ok. The salad was disappointing. I would compare it to hospital cafeteria salad. I would expect an Italian restaurant to have good Italian dressing. It wasn't bad but tasted like cheap bottled Italian. The restaurant itself is NICE. It's clean, decorated nicely, and quite spacious. The staff - so nice, friendly, and welcoming. I will go back because the Indian food is great, I want them to succeed (small business), staff is great, and it's a very nice looking restaurant. I just wish their salad and salad dressing was better. Note* This place is BIG and seems like it would be perfect for events! read more

I had lunch here today with a few friends and we had a great meal. I have had lunch here many times and it has always been consistently good. I admit I'm a creature of habit and I always get the Chicken Parmesan which comes with a side of spaghetti and a house salad with bread sticks. On Wednesday, they have a special that seniors get a half price meal. I always get the dinner size portion which has two chicken cutlets and I bring one home for my husband. Can't beat that...I get lunch and don't have to cook dinner that evening for him! The salad is nothing special but it is nice that it is included in the meal. First time here. We came because we heard so many good things about the Indian food. Well it did not disappoint! I wanted to take photos of everything, but scarfed down most of it before I remembered. The veggie samosas were 10/10 you could swim in the sauces it comes with! We also ordered the chicken vindaloo, sautéed chicken tikka, rice, and naan! We were in heaven, everything was cooked to perfection. Beautiful, clean restaurant. The restaurant recently opened and for our first visit here we and along with us were our grandkiddos. The parking lot is a little confusing and is shared with the Inn next door. There are signs that clearly state that this area is for the Inn only although it's at the side of the restaurant. Just be aware where you park. The exterior building is very nice. It has a nice ramp for those that need it. I like that the entrance is bright and has an open concept. You are not cramped as you enter. There is a nice long bench seating, maybe used as a waiting area. They have beautiful and colorful murals within the restaurant. As we were waiting for our food I noticed they also had a quaint back patio seating option that also had a nice glass fire pit. For our Antipasti: Create your own La Cucina Trattoria Samplers -Calamari -Fried Mozzarella -Toasted Cheese Ravioli We also got to try the fried Zucchini because of an order mix up. My order was a cup of Italian wedding soup and a Caprese Salad. My husbands order was a Chicken Caesar salad. The grandkiddos wanted Cheese pizza. You do get a basket of breadsticks while waiting for your food. I ordered a Limoncello Drop, delicious! I enjoyed the appetizers, everything breaded and deep fried. I loved the caprese salad and soup as well. The presentation of the salad was perfect. The cup of soup was a touch salty. I don't know if it was the soup or it's because I have been watching my salt intake. Either way the flavor was great and the little meatballs in the soup were quite tasty and so cute. Our dessert picks were the Tiramasu Cake and Dark Chocolate Lava Cake. They have couple of Gluten Free options too, Italian Cheesecake and CheeseBerry Tart. The service was very, very friendly. The interior decor is inviting and the bar area is beautiful with the liquor displayed nicely against a mirrored background. I would definitely like to return and try some other fave Italian dishes and some of their other specialty drinks. If you're in the area give them a try. read more

I would describe everything about this place to be mediocre good. I can't think of any particular setbacks. Some people say that the food is overpriced for what it is, but so is everything else in this day and age. I would describe the setting as a bit more formal, but not required to be formal, but a nice place to take some family you haven't seen in a while or something like that. There's a little mini bar off to the side if you just want to have something to drink. And they do carry some top shelf options which is nice considering the very limited selection at the other places in town. Another big plus is an EV charging station out front. Even though I do not drive an EV, it is good that we have some charging stations in town and this place happens to be one of those locations. Ate here for the second time while visiting Fallbrook. And just like the first time, the food was OUTSTANDING! The first time we went I had the Tikka Masala which was absolutely delicious. This time I wanted to try something on the Italian side of the menu and selected the Meat Lovers Calzone.... and it was DELICIOUS! On both occasions I was accompanied by my wife and mother-in-law, and both times they raved about their meals. We cannot say enough great things about this restaurant - you have to go there to experience it yourself. Side note: on both visits we had a chance to chat with Jesse, the owner. He's an extremely nice and very humble man; if you get a chance, you should say hello to him. Also, the other workers in the restaurant are SUPER people - polite, engaging, helpful, respectful, etc. etc. Jesse couldn't have better people working for him. Five stars is not enough! read more

New Italian restaurant in Fallbrook! Plenty of seating inside and bar. Friendly staff as well. They have a lot of options here and decent prices. There are also gluten free options on their menu here which was great for me! Our waitress was knowledgeable about it and directed me to the gluten stuff on the menu. I got their gluten free pasta with red sauce and shrimp. It was yummy. I also got a side salad with Italian dressing. In our party of 4 our waitress forgot two entrees that never came out. It was a Saturday night so we figured they were busy but sadly it was missed. Once we asked her about it, they apologized and comped it since they had to take it to go. Overall I'd still recommend this restaurant and would come back for dinner! read more

Service was good. The menu is interesting with the combination of Italian and Indian food selections. We all opted for the Italian selections. Calzones were a nice portion and filled with amply with deliciousness. The eggplant Parmesan was tasty. The chicken Marsala was huge and dripping with savory goodness. The fettuccine alfredo was also served with an ample portion. The sauce was rich and creamy. Hmm. I'm not sure if it's just because I got takeout or what but the food was just not hitting. Unfortunately Fallbrook is limited in its takeout options so I wanted to just give this a shot to see if it was worth it. I'm gonna be real honest here, nothing was great. The apps had some raw breading that made it a little goopy and questionable. The mozzarella sticks were ok. Super salty. The Alfredo had small bay scallops and tiny shrimps. Both had no seasonings and the sauce itself tasted like watery cream. I tried to add some salt from home but it didn't help. The tiramisu tasted soggy and honestly, like nothing. No espresso flavor or richness. This meal wasn't cheap so I'm super bummed but at this point I either need to move out of Fallbrook or cook at home more. Again, maybe just an off night. read more

I went in on July 26, 2025, ordered Mango Margaritas, and it was given with a rotten lime and was bland Had to ask for a new lime. The soup tasted great creamy, Ordered the sampler with the mozzarella sticks and the Calamari. The calamari was falling apart and was chewy. Mozzarella sticks were very soft and melty. Pasta Alfredo had no taste just bland. Bread had some taste of garlic other than that it was pure oil. They had the audacity to charge me for the soup when their pasta Alfredo was tasteless. When you get the pasta it comes with a soup but they charged me full price for soup. Definitely look for a better Italian place. Been to Italy no where comparable to over there. read more

Would not accept our gift cards, even though they were posted on the list of acceptable restaurants because it was a holiday/ Mother's Day. The restaurant was not even busy at all. A shame too because the food was decent but not good enough to come back. The managers attitude over the matter was totally unacceptable. I could see if this was a busy place but they are obviously struggling for business and by doing business this way, you are loosing lifetime customers over a small discount. As a social media creator I will be spreading this message about my bad experience throughout the commmunty. $250 bill, we had 5 $50 gift cards, would not accept even one. It was sliced so thin it was mush among the very chunky tomato sauce , And there was way too much of it. Pasta was loaded with the same chunky tomato sauce. So disappointing. I had been waiting for this place to open for a while and then when it did - I just kept passing by So glad it was open on Monday cuz I was hungry and wanted something other than fast food - appreciate you having the doors open. Tried the chicken piccata DELICIOUS - recommended by the Danelle - The tomato basil pretty tasty too! Breadsticks needed a little more toasting but overall everything was very still good I enjoyed my lunch and had leftovers for later / good size portions!! My husband and I have been ordering takeout from this restaurant for a while now, and I've always loved their Shrimp Scampi, Hawaiian pizza, and Tiramisu. So, when planning an office function, I decided to order easy-to-eat lunch options and pizza from here--and I'm so glad I did! All of my colleagues absolutely loved the Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich and the pizza. As mentioned, the Shrimp Scampi is my go-to dish and never disappoints. The customer service was outstanding. Mr. Jesse was incredibly accommodating, especially with our tight lunch window. He made sure our order was ready for pickup right at 11:30, allowing us to enjoy our meal on time. Cup of Soup I ordered the Zuppa de Carne. It was so flavorful and the Meatball sandwich off the lunch menu. Nancy ordered the Shrimp Scampi with a salad. Lots of flavors going on in our mouths! My meatball sandwich was delicious finger licking GOOD! Nancy was enjoying her Scampi. Suddenly it got very quiet at our table. No dessert for us. The Icing on the cake was our service. From the time we were seated up to us finishing our meal our most efficient & friendly server named ROB was very attentive he constantly looked towards our table and came over to see if we needed anything. He had a great sense of humor and was pleasant to look at too! It was my first time here. The menu was perfect on the sizes of their dishes from small, medium and dinner size. Prices are great for us retirees as well as families. The soup for me was the hook. The rest was just as great! Nancy had been here before and she cleaned her plate! Ha ha ha no Wine this time. I've already reviewed this place once but I brought my family here to try it out for the first time so I'm writing a review based on their experience! I normally order the sirloin steak which is incredible but my family is vegetarian so we got to try some of the vegetarian options this time which were incredible . They had the eggplant parm which they loved ! And I got the shrimp scampi fritta with Alfredo ( I know not veggies but amazing!!) everything was so good and I was able to try out a new cocktail!! Try the prickly pear margarita seriously my favorite food place by far and my mom said and I quote "best Italian food I've ever eaten" Most likely becoming a regular here now. read more

We went on a Friday night, two senior couples. We had read the the owner was a great Indian chef. Sadly, the two Indian dishes did not satisfy. The chicken was 3 bony chucks of overcooked dry chicken and the vegetables were sparse. Sauce was so thick it was solidified. Tandoori? We also got a lamb dish. Meat was completely over cooked and sauce was not pleasant. Very expensive. We also had chicken parm; it was not good; not the least bit crispy, sauce on everything appeared dehydrated and not fresh. This was our third attempt to give them another chance, but we won't be back. I don't understand the lack of quality, it's as though the food was made 2 days ago. On a Friday night they had about 50 people total and seating for about 150. I don't see how they can survive. If you love this place I'm happy. Maybe I just keep ordering the wrong things. Had lunch at La Cucina today. Would agree with another reviewer that the food is good, not great. Giving a 4 rating due to the service from Rob who was very attentive. The interior is beautiful and there's a gigantic full bar, maybe would come for a drink in the future if I'm in town. We read the other reviews and had to try this place ourselves. I'm not sure if the other reviewers are Karen's or have never been out to eat before? The place was great. We arrived and were told the wait for 4 would be 15-20 minutes, very reasonable as it was packed. We were seated in about 5 minutes. We ordered the breadsticks which DO have garlic salt on them like at Olive Garden - they were delicious. Perhaps the person who only tasted oil lost their sense of taste because the garlic taste is pronounced and easy to taste. We got the all day lunch special meals with soup and salad. My wife has the salad and we got two soups - chicken gnocchi and minestrone. They both came out piping hot and tasted delicious. My favorite was the chicken gnocchi very creamy and satisfying. Next up we got the lasagna and chicken piccata - both were hot and delicious with fresh ingredients. Even though it was lunch portions the size was huge and we couldn't finish everything. We ended the night with a chocolate lava cake that was rich and chocolatey which the kids loved as well! Will definitely come back again! read more

Finally got to try this place and I'm really excited to see what this restaurant can become. They're definitely still working out the kinks of being a newly opened restaurant, but our server was so welcoming and friendly that the oversights were not that big of a deal. We ordered the Fried Mozzarella. They were served with an Alfredo and Marinara sauce. The presentation could be better, but they were tasty. For dinner we ordered Chicken Parmigiana, Fettuccine Alfredo, and the kids Pizza and Spaghetti & Meatball. Our dinners were fantastic and our kids loved the pasta and pizza. For dessert we ordered Tiramisu and the Chocolate Musse. Tiramisu was still a little frozen, but the flavors were there! Breadsticks and soup/salad come with each of the dinners. On this visit we sat in the dining room, but their bar looks like a fun time for a date. Will try that out next time. Rooting for this new restaurant! read more

First I want to commend the reservation system and the friendliness of the staff. We have nothing but praise for our server Rob not only with us but, with the table sitting behind us and a couple with a little kid. He was friendly, knowdlegeable on all items, and very easygoing. Now onto the food. We started with the pick 2 appetizers which we ordered calamari and mozzarella sticks. The mozo sticks were room temperature and the calamari rings were served with no lemon wedges and they were also room temperature. I want to clear up that at the time we were there they were not that busy. 4:30 PM. My wife ordered the Chicken Piccata and I ordered the Meat Lover's Calzone. The piccata did not have any capers as described on the menu, the sun-dried tomatoes were burnt giving the sauce a bitter aftertaste, and no lemon or garlic flavor. The emulsion and consistency were great. My Calzone just like the appetizers was room temperature from end to end. Would I go back? Well, I guess I'll give it a couple of months and revisit but as of now. No. This review is not meant to put the business down but as a paying customer, I think I should get what I paid for.
