This is a cute place in Fallbrook. It's been on my list for a while and I'm glad we went. The food was pretty good. My parents loved their food and I was just glad I don't have to cook or clean. After looking at the pictures I took (and posted), I realized the plates look so similar which I found humorous. We order enchiladas, tacos, salad and a chili relleno. The chips and salsa were my favorite part while my family enjoyed their food. Service was good and fast. We arrived just as they opened (11am) and we ordered and our food came out pretty quickly and the food was super fresh. The rice and beans were good but don't really need all the extra cheese on it, I'd order again but ask for no extra cheese on top (personal preference). While my parents liked it that way, myself and my kids just took it off. Taste overall was good. I'm definitely going back to try other items on the menu and not driving so I can order an adult beverage. read more

This is a nice little spot. It does get busy and can have long wait times so be prepared. During this visit it did take a little longer than usual to order but the server was apologetic. I got my usual surf n turf burrito with a mango frozen margarita. My mom got ceviche tostadas which had a good amount. We went here after picking pumpkins at the pumpkin patch. All 3 of us got the Michelada's and one of us got the blue drink, their Micheladas were so good! We ordered two of their Coctel Camaron for about $16, with added octopus for an extra $5. It was fresh and for that price it's really good compared to other places that's a bit more expensive. We also ordered their fajitas and tacos! They serve free chips and salsa while waiting for your order so that's also nice! Everything is delicious, they have outside and indoor seatings, and our server was very nice and friendly. It was a lovely day to spend time with friends while enjoying our meal. It's only a 5minute drive from the vineyard 1942 pumpkin patch, so it's really close. read more

Food is still 5 stars every time, but service is disorganized with long waits. Long wait to sit when no one is there, long wait to order. Long wait for bill. They never seem to have enough staff, which isn't a problem at other places in town in a way patrons can see it. Let me start by saying food is Five Stars Plus . Wait staff also Five Star . Hubby and I come once a week, and we always order house margarita on the rocks and Cadillac margarita (same thing but they add a shot of Grand Marnier. Our drinks arrive and first the regular tasted like lemonade, hmm totally no tequila added to mix. Hubby could taste the Grand Marnier but also was missing the tequila. We mentions it to waitress, hey it happens, bar tender gets busy and thinks he/she added the tequila to the house mix... but, since it's premix he forgets. Bottom line we told her these are not your usual delicious margaritas.. they're missing the tequila. She said it was not possible, didn't offer to taste them, or offer to make us new ones or something else. Hubby let it go and just told her to bring a shot of tequila which we paid for. Really solid Mexican food with great service! I love being near San Diego because I feel like Mexican food gets better the closer you get to the border. I have family that recently moved to Fallbrook and I was surprised to find such a great restaurant in this quaint little town. I've only had to-go from here but the food has always been delicious! My favorite so far have been the Imelda tacos - hearty slices of asada with a homemade chipotle sauce, grilled onions, and lots of cilantro and lime! I also love their refried beans because they have so much flavor. They also pack you a whole tub of their pico de gallo when you order to-go. Pro tip: they don't have agua frescas, but the employee told us to walk next door to the Mexican market to get some. read more

Been eating here for years. Their margaritas have gone downhill to the point it is just and sweet and sour mix which just tastes sour. Worst margarita I have had at a Mexican restaurant and no tequila. I always get chicken enchiladas. Now, just OK, not much sauce and thick. Felt I had to write a review so maybe the bartender and fix their drinks. I will end by saying 3 years ago I tipped the bar tender separately because the margarita was so good. Ordered several items , The Carne Asada torta , big chunks of meat, and was chewy the grilled fish taco, -dry and hard couldn't even cut with a fork do not order this dish. Should I read the review earlier about this item? Shrimp chimichangas was the only good dish that I would come back for . Up there Carnitas was dry and looks like they gave us the leftovers when we asked to change the dish out the waitress was nice enough to do it and brought us another item of enchiladas instead which was a better choice . The food and service here are great, but I've consistently had trouble finding a beer I actually enjoy on tap. IPAs overwhelmingly dominate the draft list -- I counted at least 6 or 7 -- and very light lagers. That's great if you're a hophead, but it leaves out a lot of us who prefer wheat beers, stouts, or more balanced malt-forward options like ambers or red ales. During my recent visit, I was hoping for the Mango Hef, but it was out -- and with no other wheat-style or dark beer available, there wasn't anything on the list I could enjoy. It would be great to see at least one dark beer (like a Guinness or local stout) and one true wheat beer on the permanent menu. Even a seasonal or rotating tap for more adventurous or malt-rich styles would make a big difference. I hope the team might consider diversifying the beer list a bit -- there's something for every taste, and I'd love to be able to pair your food with a beer I actually enjoy! read more

Soooo yummy. Currently working in Fallbrook and decided to stop in and have lunch. Glad I did. Delicious food, reasonably priced, nice comfy booths inside and a patio outside. A great find in the sea of Mexican restaurants in North San Diego County. Sweet little place that serves enormous portions of beautifully seasoned Mexican fare. Plate of flautas, moist chicken with peppers, cheese, and spices, inside lightly fried flour tortillas, with Spanish rice that included carrots and peas, actual beans, and pico de gallo, could have fed four people. Nice selection of margaritas, wine and beer. Since moving to the Fallbrook area in 2021, Estrella's (and Casa Estrella) have been our go-to Mexican restaurants for delicious, quality food. The pre-meal chips are a mix of corn and flour. My personal favorite is the sizzling steak fajitas. The Chimoy margarita is fantastic as well. Everyone that works here is friendly and attentive.
