I went here the other day on Easter. My family expected to have a dedicated Easter brunch event however their Easter Brunch happens the day before Easter. We were able to get a reservation for 9 but had 2 separate round tables next to each other. It was a long wait but when you're spending time with family and friends and catching up, it doesn't feel that long. Food were big portions for each entrée and the price was reasonable. I had the smokehouse burger and like to get it medium. I got it with the house salad with balsamic vinaigrette and it was delicious. We came to the Veranda Restaurant for Easter Sunday! My mother-in-law had booked this restaurant months in advance in order to have a meal with a lovely view out in the veranda. She wanted us to have a nice family meal with pictures. Upon pulling up with our car, there was a noticeable three rows of parking for the cars. After parking our car, we walked up to what looks like a fancy house. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not only is this fancy place a restaurant, it was a venue as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Before going inside to be seated, we noticed a lovely couple being walked around the venue, too, to check out what they had to offer. When we were seated, we had a lot of time to look at the menu. We chose our drinks and the waitress came out with them very quickly. We also ordered an appetizer (beignets) that came with raspberry sauce and whipped cream. It was very crunchy and well fried. Their mimosas are very strong and their spring sangria is delectable! For food, my fiancé ordered a hamburger with a side salad. For myself, I ordered a dip sandwich with au jus sauce. Needless to say, our portions were huge! The price definitely matched the portion sizes. After our meal, we realized that we were there until the restaurant closed, which is fairly early. The grounds are very beautiful but the food was nothing special. Our waiter was polite, but not friendly at all. The service was very slow. I had the breakfast hash and the meat was extremely fatty and the eggs were cold. My husband had the Wellington Benedict and said it wasn't very good. My husband and I had a wonderful brunch here this morning-The greeter Dioemi and food server Cassidy were friendly and polite and very attentive as was the Concierge (sorry forgot name?) The food was delicious-appetizers crabcakes and beignettes, entrees Veranda omelet and Smokehouse burger. Servings were generous and wonderfully cooked and remarkably reasonably priced. The fruit was fresh and cold.The Veranda, itself, is a beautiful outside porch for the Grand Mansion which is stately and covered with flowers. The grounds are very large and from the Veranda porch you see a beautiful pond and green trees and colorful flowers including huge hanging baskets on the porch. There is a peacefulness on the grounds upon which we walked before and after our meal. This is a wedding venue so you can imagine the beauty-waterfalls, bamboo, tall trees, beautiful walkways and space and shade to enjoy the walk in peace . Veranda didn't exist when my wife and I got married at Grand Tradition back in 2004. Decided to enjoy a brunch at Veranda on the weekend of our 20th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. Obviously, the scenery was fantastic. Sitting on the back porch of the main facility, looking over the heart shaped lake and gazebo where we said our vows 20yrs ago. Good was also great. My wife ordered the French toast, crispy yet soft bread with a creamy marscapone and blueberries. I ordered the burger even though it was only 10a. The homemade chips were delicious and the bbq sauce and bacon combo on the burger was the perfect of salty and sweet. Staff was friendly and professional, fast and responsive. Never felt pressure to hurry and they allowed us to enjoy our food and our walk down memory lane. Weather was perfect, staff was great (thanks Karina!), food was delicious and was priced very well! Disappointing experience. This is the 3rd time I have visited this place for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The grounds are lovely, the view from the veranda very pleasant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That was the only positive of this recent experience. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation time of 10:30 (reservations were made 2 months prior). Upon arrival, there was no one in sight to greet us or to check in with. No wait staff in sight either, tables were full of guests. After 10 minutes of waiting, my husband went inside the veranda to search for someone. He found an employee and informed her we were waiting to be seated, she curtly told him she would notify someone. Another 10 minutes passed, finally a staff member approached us to ask if we had reservations. We were then seated. Our wait staff member was polite, not friendly and the food was underwhelming. Attention to detail was absent. For the volume of people being served on the veranda, they clearly are understaffed. wait times for food and seating unnecessarily long. It appears they clearly are focused on the "event side" of the venue and should invest more resources, training and management on the veranda restaurant. I brought an out of town guest from the bay area and was embarassed by the experience. I will not be returning to the veranda restaurant. read more

I used to work here before they had this restaurant, and so of course I had to come back and try their food out and boy was I amazed and blown away!! It was all so good I was only able to get a picture of the dessert But everything was delicious! The dessert was the captain crunch bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and captain crunch crumbs on top! It wasn't too sweet, and was full of flavor! Let me start off by saying, the setting and backdrop of this restaurant is nothing short of spectacular. Such a great place to take pictures and enjoy a serene walk around the pond. The staff was very friendly, even though we walked in and didn't have a reservation. Nor were we dressed for the occasion. I love that they give you a little starter plate of fresh fruit and veggies - it was so nice! We came for birthday dessert, and was not disappointed! We have been to the Veranda several times and always found it amazing! This time we brought our family to give them an extended Christmas present I was surprised at how slow the service was and our waitress disappeared and a different waitress finished the service. The coffee was cold as was the waffles in the chicken and waffle dish. The bacon on my turkey club was cold and the avocado was brown. They were to bring crayons and a page to color for a little one and we never received it. I understand that they were busy but management should have taken that into account and brought in more staff. The food is very reasonably priced, and the beignets are a must! Of course, you can't talk about The Veranda without mentioning the 18 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. There is large lake, 7 gorgeous waterfalls, and flowers everywhere! So after you enjoy your meal, you can burn off a few of those calories by taking a stroll throughout the garden. The only downside? It's a perfect location for a family gathering, Mother's Day, outing with girlfriends, or a date. Plenty of free parking right in front. They feature brunch and lunch items. Prices are fair for the portion of food you get. They offer a small complimentary plate of fruit and vegetables, which is a perfect way to start your meal. Their fries were delicious and perfectly crispy! Our servers were friendly and professional. They were kind enough to let us stay past their closing time. I highly recommend you check out the amazing garden next door. It's a secret garden with beautiful trees and several waterfalls. It's so serene. It's also a wedding venue with plenty of space for your guests. My only issue was that there was a large piece of eggshell in our eggs Benedict. When pointed out, our server was apologetic but I wish it didn't happen. In addition, I have many friends that go there and they even stated they did not have onion nor Pico de gallo in them before. The winner of today's brunch were the beignets that we ordered as a dessert. They were light, and crispy, providing the perfect crunch at first, second, and third bite. Here's everything I tried: Bruschetta: ordered without feta, good, but very acidic on the palette. Del Rey Avocado Omelet: made with egg whites, pepper jack cheese, Fallbrook avocado, and pico de gallo. Light and simple breakfast option. Sausage: ordered as an add-on with the option as on the side or in the omelet. Nice snap from the skin, good flavor, well-cooked, and meaty. Wasn't greasy. Flourless Chocolate Torte: dense, rich chocolate flavor. Paired well with the mixed berry sauce from the beignets. Grand Tradition "Beignets": great for sharing, tasty, the highlight of the meal. Yes the view is spectacular but I'm afraid that doesn't make up for the food or customer service. Waited Two weeks to get reservations. When we arrived we were told to wait in the ballroom and someone would come to get us. Unfortunately they do not have a waiting area to sit and wait. We waited a bit and really wanted to sit down since we both have back issues. The Cobb Salad was nothing special, watered down dressing and the Sangria was horrible.
