Have been here 3 times now. I give up. This beautiful sanctuary was specifically built as an event/wedding venue. The views are stunning. The service is stunningly bad. As another yelper said, the food is very basic. You are literally paying for the spectacular grounds and view because the food is nothing special...and the service is abysmal. It could be a stellar place if the menu was a bit more varied and adventurous (and for goodness sake, cut waaay back on the salt on everything) and pulease hire some knowledgeable and experienced wait staff or train whom you have. We were not the only disappointed party on our last visit; we heard several other guests grumbling and complaining; (tables are close together on porch and ambience is marred by the din) even requesting a manager. Such a shame. Someone ought to be paying attention. read more

It took me 2 months to finally get a brunch reservation at the Veranda restaurant and I can see why. The restaurant is located at this beautiful botanical gardens type area with a lake in the back. The outdoor seating for this venue is gorgeous, private and very calming. Once we were seated, we had a bottle of their French Sparkling Brut and Italian Prosecco. They were both good but we enjoyed the Prosecco better. For appetizers we had their hummus plate and bruschetta. The hummus plate is a pretty large portion. The hummus plate was good but I would now try something else. The bruschetta was great, the tomatoes were sweet and savory and I would order it again. For entree, I had their crab cakes Benedict and that was definitely the highlight of the brunch. The crab cakes were very tender, tasty and smooth. The eggs were cooked perfectly and complimented the crab cakes well. The pictures do not do this place justice, it is absolutely beautiful there. I can see why this place is booked so much in advance. We will definitely visit this restaurant again. read more

I had such high hopes for the Veranda. Been looking at reservations for over year. Just know that your paying for the ambiance because the food is basic, mostly over cooked and I can make better at home. The service was spotty at best and the prices are high when half your meal is inedible due to being over spiced and over cooked. The cocktails were all good and the pastries were nicely done. We had to wait too long to be seated for having had a reservation. Lots of parking and a gorgeous backdrop but definitely highly overrated. read more

FIRST IMPRESSIONS are everything and WO!!.. Her's why; The old restored Mansion entrance was grand, lush and inviting.. Driving in I thought we accidentally took the wrong turn and were driving on someone's private estate. Immediately welcomed by Josh, The Food and Beverage Manager who somehow worked his magic in seating us at 10:45am without a reservation. (I recommend Reservations) He was so friendly and inviting I felt like we were old friends. Bethany sat us on the beautiful veranda overlooking the stately pond with a gentle spraying fountain. Within moment a complimentary veggie tray arrived with not one but 2 glorious dips.. one was a blueberry flavored dip... Yum! While I had the signature salad my friend opted for their signature Benedict. Both outstanding! A few women guest wore lovely hats and we felt like we were on a movie set. Everything was perfect.. no loud noises just the peaceful serenity and our glorious food. Thanks a million Josh we will return very soon read more

After hearing about how beautiful this place is my husband and I came here for lunch on a Thursday. It was a little chilly day but the heater kept us warm. The view was gorgeous and very peaceful. We saw about two dozen baby ducklings jumping into the lake ... so cute! We ordered french onion soup, breakfast egg roll, and panini sandwich with sweet potato fries. The complementary fruit and veggie was nice. The french onion soup was delicious. Everything was good except the panini sandwich was cold and not warm as I expected. Excellent service. read more

The veranda is just such a special place. Super reasonable prices, amazing view, excellent service. And after you eat, you can't all around the beautiful grounds. What a gorgeous place to get married. Smaller menu but everything we've had had been yummy. Especially the prime rib sandwich. The horseradish sauce is so perfectly spicy. The Veranda restaurant is my new happy place! I have been there three times since April and loved it every time. The staff is amazing! April I took my mom for her birthday and I invited my 87 year old grandmothe. I was so excited to show her the grounds since she loves plants. I told her that we would be walking and she informed me that she had pain and would not be able to walk... I was so bummed! I decided to ask the front desk if they had a wheelchair or if a golf cart could take her. The nice lady in the front told me to go out front and they would help me out. I had a 6 month old and two older ladies and my 12 year old daughter. We were meet On the side by Will, a super amazing grounds manager that bring a six passenger golf cart and he gave us a tour and taught us about the grounds and vegetation. I had the best experience and am so greatful for making it special for the love of my life.... My grandma! The place is beautiful, the food is great and the staff is really amazing! We absolutely love this place! We come often and the staff and service is always amazing. The food is always delicious. We get the Wellington Benedict and have never been disappointed. The view itself is worth it. To be able to walk around the grounds after is always so relaxing and peaceful. I don't know why people think this isn't a kids place. We bring our daughter every time and have never received any dirty looks from other patrons or staff. They are always very accomodating with her and bring her paper and crayons. I don't want to write a review, I want to keep this gem to myself. I don't want others knowing about how amazing the food is here because I want to be able to just make a reservation on a whem and enjoy an amazing brunch. But we noticed some things about this place which would explain the negative reviews... 1. Please reserve... Don't show up as they most likely will be booked. 2. If your table is not ready on the second your reservation it's because there is limited seating... The place does major events and the restaurant portion is rather small. I did a lot of research before going and expected this. The waiting area is very quaint, comfortable and it was well worth the wait. It's possible the guest are still out there enjoying or wrapping up their meal. Very limited seating. 3. They have picnic baskets you can purchase instead of a sitting meal and you can go to any location on the grounds and enjoy a picnic. So.... The grounds are amazing... Is this even fallbrook? Well maintained even in the summer heat. No bad view from any of the tables, if you want summer shade we noticed the entire porch is mostly shaded at around 11am. There was not a single plate that was short of fabulous. Eggs Wellington... OMG! Fluffy pastry, eggs poached perfectly and a bit of soft cheese in the middle. This was a hit!! My wife's quiche well she ate every last drop. The French toast and kids grilled cheese also were a hit. Staff was very courteous, quick, responsive. We will be back and if my review didn't paint the picture we uploaded a few of our photos. read more

The Veranda is an absolutely lovely place for a meal. Both times I have eaten here it has been for brunch and both times were great. Obviously the view is fantastic and almost worth eating here just for that. All seats are outside on the patio overlooking the pond and grass. If you come in summer it can get hot so try to make an early reservation. The service is pretty good but a little on the slow side. The brunch menu is large and everything is very reasonably priced. The first time I had the French toast and the second time I had the panini. Both were good. The beignets are good but I love their fries! The only thing I didn't like was that they charge you if you want to walk the grounds after eating. read more

The food was meh. I do not recommend the French toast, it was soggy and tasted like egg. It was more like a runny egg with bread as a topping. The Wellington benedict looked delicious but the poached egg was more like a hard boiled egg. I do recommend the biscuits and gravy platter. That was pretty good. You also can't go wrong with the lemon berry marscapone cake. The service was okay. Our waiter looked super busy so we never got the refreshments we requested. The overall place though was beautiful. I brought a friend here who was visiting from Alaska. The grounds are beautiful and impressive upon walking in. There was a mix up with my reservation- the host initially told me I didn't have one (despite my having evidence that I did) but it was cleared up after about 10 minutes, but I didn't get much of an apology for the wait. Upon being seated we were given menus and a plate of crudités. We ordered the beignets, breakfast egg rolls, Wellington Benedict's, lemon ricotta cake, and the signature bread pudding. I also got a white sparkling wine cocktail and my friend got the sangria. Everything we ordered was absolutely perfect! Delicious, beautifully presented, and just overall a fantastic experience. And considering how much we had stuffed our faces our total bill was only about $70 which is a steal! We were too full to try to attempt the garden tour which is apparently included with the dining experience. Next time...! read more

terrible service. took over 2 hours for our brunch. the waitress was absent for most of the meal. waters were never refilled. the food was less than impressive. one omelette came out cold, the crepes were disgusting (they came out over cooked and had been sitting under a heat lamp for an intensive period of time). a meal came out without the gluten free bread and was not able to be eaten. overall experience was less than impressive. we had to wait 2 months to get reservations here and it was sub par at best. would not recommend at all. read more

I went to The Veranda restaurant to celebrate mother's day there with a bunch of lovely women. We were treated so incredibly well and we're absolutely spoiled. The view from The veranda is gorgeous and somewhat surreal looking out onto the lake. They have a gorgeous classical feel on the inside of the restaurant. We enjoyed walking around the lake and hanging out by the water fountain. It was such a beautiful day but I don't doubt we will make this a yearly events for mother's day. read more

Beautiful place in Fallbrook to have a Sunday Brunch. Went there to celebrate our Anniversary with family. For starters, we had the cream cheese and ricotta stuffed crepe with orange zest, berry drizzle, whipped cream and fresh fruit. It tasted just as good as it sounds! For entrees, my hubby ordered the Wellington Benedict which is Canadian bacon and soft herb cheese wrapped in puff pastry topped with poached eggs with the hollandaise sauce on the side. That was super yummy and I had to keep taking bites of his food. I ordered the spinach and berry salad with Salmon. The salmon was moist. The bread it came with was a bit on the hard side. Our family also ordered the Avocado Omelet and fried Brussel sprouts with a balsamic reduction, both healthy and flavorful. The Brioche French Toast stuffed with a cream cheese whip and Grand Marnier infused strawberry compote with light powdered sugar on top and maple syrup was delicious. Sitting on the Veranda with the lake view and manicured tropical surrounding was such a beautiful ambience. The service was great and I look forward to coming back. read more

We had a beautiful baby shower on the Veranda on Saturday, July 14,2018. Dominic who helped us with all the arrangements was excellent. He communicated well in the planning of our event and checked on us several times during the event. Crystal our server was amazing and very attentive. The food was incredible delicious and simply beautiful. This event could not have been better! We will plan many more events at the Veranda it's the perfect venue. The grounds are amazing too. This was a great find! Once again Yelp did not disappoint! My husband and I took our son here to celebrate his birthday. We went on a Sunday around noon. I tried to get a reservation through Open Table, but it said there were none. I telephoned and got one right away. So it pays to check with a restaurant directly sometimes. As mentioned in other reviews, this is a small restaurant on the veranda at Grand Tradition. It is entirely outside. The day we were there was not the best but they have heaters between each table and I wasn't cold. I wouldn't want to go there on a day with wind and rain though. The food was delicious. Presentation was excellent. I loved the flower on the plate with my bacon! As mentioned, the view is "ahhh...". Surprisingly, I thought the prices were decent for the ambiance. Service was good. There was a slight mix up when I wanted to surprise my son with a special dessert, but it really wasn't anyone's fault. I would definitely return to this restaurant again.
