David is a phenomenal golf instructor. I would be taking lessons from him right about now (Winter tune-up!) if he were still teaching in the Bay Area. I have taken lessons from a half dozen golf pros (including a Northern California PGA "Teacher of the Year") and in my opinion, David is hands down the MOST EFFECTIVE. Why? Because he is able to evaluate a student's golf swing / chip / putting stroke and communicate exactly what the student needs to see & hear in order to improve. His instruction isn't a canned one-size-fits-all approach. He is versatile and can use different techniques & drills to help different students arrive at their optimum result. With every lesson I took from David, I saw tangible results during the session that I was able to carry with me to the golf course. Bottom line is with a handful of lessons over 12 months, David took me, a recreational golfer, from a high 90s player, down to a 10. He saw what I was willing to put into my practice and gave me the tools to make it happen. What else can you ask for? Part of why makes David so good is that he can simplify things, which makes the golf swing / game less intimidating. David is an excellent golf instructor. He has a keen eye and an even way to instruct that resonates with his students. David has taught my young son (10 years old) to great success on the course, as well enhancing his love of golf...which is important to me as a dad!! In my personal experience, I went to David when my index stalled at 9 and I could not break the barrier. In his casual way, he opened the lesson with: "What do you want to accomplish?" I said I want to get better consistency which will lead to a lower index. His reply: "well, you have 4 wrongs making a right with your swing and that is why you keep having blow up rounds. If you are committed we can improve your game." He modified my grip, stance alignment and swing path. I went from playing a slight fade to a baby draw. Picked up ~20+ yards in distance (more roll) and much more consistency and accuracy. Despite my index initially going higher (to 11 in 3 months) I was back to an 8 quickly and finished last season at a 6...the lowest index of my 30 year golf career!!! David is an incredible PGA Teaching Professional. I have taken lessons from him for about 2 years and my game has improved dramatically. What sets David apart is his unique ability to evaluate the weaknesses in one's golf swing with his I-Pad, show it to you (so you can see exactly what is wrong with your swing), and then use drills and other techniques to correct the fundamental flaws of the swing. Additionally, David is proficient in teaching every aspect of the game, driving, irons, chipping, putting, sand shots, and uneven lies. Clearly David accomplished the most for me and in my opinion is the best instructor I've worked with by far. As a student of David, it was my loss when he relocated to the San Diego area. I recently had a chance to have a lesson with him again and man, did I realize just how much I miss his instruction. "Nezzy's" patience is excellent and he has an innate ability to relate to anyone and what type of swing they currently employ. My game had begun to deteriorate. in one lesson Nezzy picked out the key things I had let creep into my swing and corrected them on the spot. once that was done he introduced a drill to help me keep the good habits in place. David truly helped me to improve my game. I had lessons from others over the years and I stayed about the same in skill. After working with David, my swing changed in quality resulting in greater consistency, distance, and accuracy. I am so disappointed that I will not be able to continue my work with David. I was looking forward to taking a second set of lessons with David when he announced his relocation. The first lessons were extremely productive. I started as a complete rookie but was able to enjoy the game after just one set of lessons. My family loves David. He's a fantastic instructor. My kids have been taking lessons from him for almost two years. David is such a great instructor - knowledgeable, perceptive, and fun. He is able to apply drills and analogies that really stick so you don't forget the instruction between lessons. My son, age 13, only wanted to learn from David. As a periodic player, my swing became much more fluid and I feel much more in control of my pitching and chipping after just a half dozen lessons with David. Taking golf lessons can be intimidating. Finding someone who you can communicate with in golf terms is important. As a fairly new woman golfer David made the process not only enjoyable but effective. I have worked with several golf instructors during my 12 years of playing golf, and David is by far the best. He's the only one who was able to both diagnose and fix my fundamental swing flaws (taking club inside on take-away and swinging too fast from the top).
